Definition
• The <title> tag defines the title of the
document.

3. The <title> element is required in all
HTML/XHTML documents.

4. Usage of Title
• defines a title in the browser toolbar
• provides a title for the page when it is added
to favorites
• displays a title for the page in search-engine
results

5. Attributes
• DTD indicates in which HTML 4.01/XHTML 1.0
DTD the attribute is allowed. S=Strict,
T=Transitional, and F=Frameset.
