5. 1. First, our mission within
the household of faith,
to love God with all our
heart, soul strength and
mind.
6. “Why doing the mission within the
household of faith first.”
“…for witnessing firstly in
Jerusalem, then in the whole of
Judea, the in Samaria, and to the
uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
7. “Why do you seek the speck in your
neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the
log in your own eye? Or how can you
say to your neighbor, “Let me take the
speck out of your eye, while the log is
in your own eye? You hypocrite, first
take the speck out of your own eye,
and then you will see clearly to take
the speck our of your neighbor’s eye.”
- Matthew 7: 3-5
8. “What does it mean then, loving God
with all our heart, soul, strength and
mind? Or to love and serve God with
our heads, our hearts and our hands.”
A. Our head calls for the mental
aspect of the Christian life, our
knowing.
We need to know what
and why we believe.
9. “What does it mean then, loving God with all
our heart, soul, strength and mind? Or to love
and serve God with our heads, our hearts and
our hands.”
B. We also seek to love and serve God
with all our hearts, to cultivate a
personal relationship with Jesus
Christ that transforms our lives.
This can be done through spending
time in personal prayer and devotion,
worship and reading of the Bible.
10. 2. Second, Our
MISSION to the world.
“…that the hearts of all true religion
is to love God and neighbor.”
11. It is about using our gifts and time in service
to God and neighbor. This involves giving away
a portion of our own resources sacrificially to
be able to share with others.
It involves ministering both within and
outside the church to demonstrate the love
of Christ to others. It is a call to do
something about our faith by serving our
neighbor and serving the world.
12. Thessalonians 2: 3-10
(1) First, by their personal example.
(1 Thes. 1:7)
(2) Second, by proclamation.
(1 Thes. 1:8)
(3) Their, by their love for one another.
(1 Thes. 1:3)
13. Apostle Paul also contrasts what can be
called false witnessing.
(1 Thessalonians 2: 3-10)
> It springs from error. (v.3)
> It comes from impure motives.(v.3)
> Trickery (v.3)
> Pleasing people thru flattery (vv.4-5)
> Greed – profiting from the gospel.
> Self-glory – not the glory of GOD.
> And because of these, they have
become a burden to the churches.
14. Our MISSION is wholistic.
It includes the salvation of God’s
whole creation that must be set free
from the bondage of decay and obtain
the glorious liberty
of the children of GOD.
15. Our MISSION is wholistic.
It includes the salvation of God’s whole
creation that must be set free from the
bondage of decay and obtain the
glorious liberty
of the children of GOD.
