Augmented reality (AR) enhances real-world environments by overlaying digital content and information onto the user's view of the real world. AR can be used to leverage student engagement by enriching paper-based course materials with contextual digital content accessible through smartphones and tablets. A proposed way to engage students is through AR flashcards that allow digital information to be overlaid when the user views the card, combining physical flashcards with interactive digital content to enhance learning.
