The striped skunk is a black furry animal with two white stripes, lives in deserts, woodlands, grassy plains and suburbs across the U.S. and Canada. It eats insects, larvae, small amphibians, crayfish and bird eggs. Baby skunks are born blind in mid-May. Striped skunks can spray ten to fifteen feet and their body temperature ranges from 98.6 F to 87.8 F. Their enemies include humans and hunters.
