4. ABSTRACT
AIM: to investigate the bond between stress level and
academic achievement among students in urban and
rural area secondary schools.
OBJECTIVES:
• Find total percentage of student who suffered high,
medium and low stress.
• Compare the stress level between genders.
• Compare stress level between students.
5. ℘Respondent: 155 of Form 4 students from two
secondary school in Malaysia.
℘Results:
℘no students experience high stress.
℘29% students experienced medium stress.
℘71% students experienced low stress.
℘there’s also a finding shows a significant different in
level of stress of gender.
℘students in rural and urban secondary school.
6. INTRODUCTION
STRESS: changing an individual’s thinking and
lifestyles.
THROUGH: biological, physical, mental and
emotional changes.
ALWAYS: confronted in problems.

7. METHODOLOGY
Descriptive survey between urban and rural
secondary schools.
Data analysed using program called “ statistical
package for social science.”
2 parts of questionnaire:
1) Part a – self information.
2) Part b – measures stress level.
8. focus on 5 categories of stress’s sources:
- Frustration
- Conflict
- Stressor
- Changes
- Self Exposure
STRESS: psychological, emotional, behaviour
and cognitive measurement.
Urban students have HIGH stress, while,
Rural students have LESS stress.
10. DISCUSSION
Results:
Students stress in different levels.
- FEMALE and urban students have high level of
stress.
- MALE experience have less stress .
PERSONALITY of an individual cause stress.
Female students tend to be more emotional and
sensitive .
12. 1. AVOID - unnecessary stress.
2. ALTER - the situation.
3. ADAPT - to the stressor.
4. ACCEPT - the things that you can’t change.
5. MAKE - time to have fun and relaxation.
