Double Page Magazine Spread
       – Ancillary Task
Fonts
We chose this font for the facts along the side of the
double page magazine spread as we wanted something
that was simple and clear as they are quite serious
facts. Once again it is black writing on top of red and
yellow backgrounds – sticking to the colour scheme.


 For the title we used quite a child-like font again,
 similar to the font of the newspaper advert I did. I
 decided to use the same font so you can clearly see
 a connection between all the advertisements which
 I think is quite conventional for real media.


 We used plain font for the article so it is clear for
 viewers to read. We used mainly black font, however
 to show which part is the interview we used blue and
 red font to show a clear separation between the
 main text and the interview.
Images


 For the double page magazine spread we
 incorporated 5 images. We photographed 3 of
 them, including the chips, burger and drink. Then
 we used an image of the fast food take-away bag
 and chip box from the internet. We chose to use
 these images as they are relevant to the subject of
 fast food, so clearly show to the audience what the
 documentary is about, in a visual way.
Comparison to real media

            The similarities between my double page
            magazine spread and this real media is that:
            • They both include columns.
            • They both combine text and images.
            • They both have a fact file or character profiles
            along the side.


            The differences between my double page
            magazine spread and this real media is that:
            • Our double page spread has more text.
            • The real media incorporates a large image,
            where as ours includes more smaller images.
            • The colours we used are brighter and bolder
            and represent our theme well, where as the
            real media used plain and simple colours.

  • 2. Fonts We chose this font for the facts along the side of the double page magazine spread as we wanted something that was simple and clear as they are quite serious facts. Once again it is black writing on top of red and yellow backgrounds – sticking to the colour scheme. For the title we used quite a child-like font again, similar to the font of the newspaper advert I did. I decided to use the same font so you can clearly see a connection between all the advertisements which I think is quite conventional for real media. We used plain font for the article so it is clear for viewers to read. We used mainly black font, however to show which part is the interview we used blue and red font to show a clear separation between the main text and the interview.
  • 3. Images For the double page magazine spread we incorporated 5 images. We photographed 3 of them, including the chips, burger and drink. Then we used an image of the fast food take-away bag and chip box from the internet. We chose to use these images as they are relevant to the subject of fast food, so clearly show to the audience what the documentary is about, in a visual way.

Comparison to real media The similarities between my double page magazine spread and this real media is that: • They both include columns. • They both combine text and images. • They both have a fact file or character profiles along the side.
