8. National Rural Network The purpose of the National Rural Network is to assist the efficient and effective implementation of the Rural Development Programme across all axes and to promote synergies across measures. A significant focus of the network will be to secure and co-ordinate the flow of information, including performance indicators, between local beneficiaries, intermediate bodies and the managing authority.

13. RDSU and Tipperary Institute Tipperary Institute was successful in securing the tender to provide the National Rural Network in Ireland. The RDSU is a unit set up within Tipperary Institute which will have responsibility for delivering this contract. The Unit will draw from the facilities and the broad range of expertise within TI. Tipperary Institute through the RDSU will report to the Departments of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as the Managing Authority and the Department of community Rural and Gaelteacht Affairs.

14. The Team The RDSU is based at Tipperary Institute, in the Ballingarane Technology Park, Clonmel. We will have a full time staff of five, a Manager, Administrator, Publications Co-ordinator, Information Analyst and a Network Coordinator. In the first year we also have a dedicated Web Developer and Database Developer. Contact Details
