4. How do you feel as the first president? What immediate issues concern you? Nervous at all?
5. George Washington was honored to be chosen to lead the nation, but he was also apprehensive and overwhelmed. You probably feel a lot like George Washington did when he agreed to be our first president.
6. The precedents , or examples, he set- good or bad- would pave the way for others to follow.
7. The early presidents of the United States had the awesome responsibility of setting good precedents and building a strong and stable nation.
8. In “The New Republic” unit we will examine and evaluate how our Founding Fathers handled issues and led the nation. Our focus will be on the following precedent-setting presidents:
9. Complete the issues and events webs on your student activity sheets as we are introduced to our first five presidents. Write the events from the slides as titles on your worksheet. Take note!!!!
