Magazine Producers There are two main big publishers/distributors, These are: EMAP, Emap Limited is a British media company, specialising in the production of business-to-business magazines, and the organisation of business events and conferences. IPC IPC Media (formerly International Publishing Company ltd) is one of the United Kingdom's leading consumer magazine and digital publishers, with a large portfolio selling over 350 million copies each year.

COMAG The main magazine I have been looking at to get ideas and inspiration form is ‘the source’, This Magazine is published by COMAG COMAG is one of the largest Distributors in the UK, and the largest exporter of English Magazines. It supplies to over 80 countries around the world. COMAG also distributes some of the other Hip Hop magazines I have been looking at. These are ‘Vibe’, ‘XXL’ and ‘Hip Hop’. They also distribute a wide range of other music magazines.

4. Mainstream or independent. My magazine is mainstream and includes mainstream artists, so it would not fit with an independent publisher because it would be with all the wrong magazines. There would not be any magazines that are similar to my magazine so it would not fit in. This also means it would not sell as much because it is not targeted at a niche audience. So I would definitely say my magazine should be sold by a mainstream publisher and sold in the correct places. This means it would sell more and be up with similar magazines.

5. Which media institution would distribute my media product and why ? I would choose COMAG to distribute my magazine because they deal with all of the other hip hop magazines I have been looking at, And also they are a big company that distribute lots of magazines. When making my magazine I used some of these magazine’s to get my design ideas from. So my magazine is similar to the magazines they produce and would easily fit in with some of there other magazines. Also Because I have looked at some of the magazines like XXL and The source, I have tried to make my magazine look better than them.
