The Wage Incentive from JCP is ending.
The Youth Contract Wage Incentive has been available since April 2012 to Employers recruiting eligible young people between 18 and 24 years old, who have been unemployed for at least 6 months.
Funding allocated to Wage Incentives cannot be used after March 2015 and to avoid payments over running, the last employment start date for which an incentive can be claimed is 6 August 2014.
Employers wishing to recruit an eligible claimant have until 6 August 2014 to employ the individual and receive the claim forms.

2. The Youth Contract Wage
Incentive has been
available since April 2012
to Employers recruiting
eligible young people
between 18 and 24 years old,
who have been unemployed
for at least 6 months.
3. Significant reductions in youth unemployment have been made
over the last few years as a result of the blended range of
measures such as Work Experience, sector based work
academies, Apprenticeships and Wage Incentives.
Funding was allocated up to and including March 2015 and we
have always intended to remove the Wage Incentive in a
planned way to ensure there was no overlap in funding.
4. It is important to note that the removal of the Wage Incentive has
always been a requirement as part of the Youth Contract funding and
was never a permanent part of the JCP Offer.
The clock is ticking and for employers not
to miss out on the wage incentive!
5. Funding allocated to Wage Incentives cannot be used after March
2015 and to avoid payments over running, the last employment start
date for which an incentive can be claimed is 6 August 2014.
Employers wishing to recruit an eligible claimant have until 6 August
2014 to employ the individual and receive the claim forms.
6. Eligible claimants seeking employment and marketing the Wage
Incentive to encourage employers also have until 6 August 2014 to
start employment.
Due to the potential funding overspill the 6 August 2014 is a clear date
after which no further claim forms will be issued.
There will be no exceptions to this and in the case of any disputes the
employer and claimant must confirm an employment start date before
the deadline.
7. The deadline for employers to claim the final incentive payment
is 6 weeks after the 6 months employment date.
To avoid any over run into 2015 financial year an additional
6 week window has been allocated to take the final date for
claim forms to be submitted by the 23 March 2015.
Any claim forms received after 23 March 2015 will be rejected
as out of time and will have clearly been given extra time to
submit the claim.
8. It is important as part of employer follow up
to clearly inform employers of this deadline.
