• Ensure that where hazards have been identified that the agreed control measures are
adhered to
• Ensure guards and other safety devices are maintained in good condition and that
they are kept in position whenever the machinery is in use
• Test all safety devices on the machinery they are using at the beginning of the shift for
correct operation, filling in the relevant report sheet
• Report all faults and damage to their Supervisor / Foreman or Leadman and
subsequently to Maintenance via the Work Order system
• Ensure that all plant and equipment in their possession and under their control is
maintained and in good condition and is not misused
