6. This project was a cap
over the 101 freeway that
crosses Hollywood, CA. This
structure is to function as
a park to the surrounding
communities. The concept
behind the masterplan, and
ultimately, the site design,
focuses on the importance
of pollinators and on bring-
ing awareness to their role in
the environment.
This specific site, the Wind
Forest, focuses particularly
on one pollinator that typi-
cally goes by unoticed; the
wind.
Interactive wind installations
are placed thoughout the
space, and nooks delin-
eated by vative vegetation
serve as outdoor rooms that
can be used by the users in
the surrounding neighbor-
hoods.
Additionally, the native
vegetation is usefull to living
pollinators, which encour-
ages education on the site.
This also makes the space a
micro-ecosystem within the
larger Southern California
one. This system works as a
rest stop along the pollina-
tors’ migratory routes.

7. This was a storm water management design made for a portion of the Cal Poly Pomo-
na Campus. The design is a puzzle piece in a larger network of storm water detention
basisn throughout campus. The overall purpose is to direct the water to the adjacent
creek. Before reaching this point however, the water is to be treated, cleaned and
cooled down. This will ensure less pollution, and less impact on the wildlife that inhabits
the areas surrounding the creek.

11. Design for the science courtyard at Cal Poly Pomona. The plant palette consists of
Mediterranean plants and low-water using natives. The space provides direct paths
connecting strategic points near the courtyard, as well as an outdoor classroom that
can accommodate approximately twenty-five people.
12. Planting plan for a demonstration garden at the Chino Basin Water Conservation Distric in
Montclair, CA.
Planting material consists of edibles and natives.
