Profiles : A profile is an object in the IS-U System that is used in energy data management
to manage interval-related data. It can be for Quantity, Demand, Price, Amount, Factor values.
Point of Delivery : A Point of Delivery is a point to which a utility service is supplied, or for
which a utility service can be determined. It can be Deregulated or Technical Point of Delivery.
Service Provider : Describes a company that provides a service.
Services : Used to describe a service supplied to a point of delivery. Services can
be billable or non-billable.
Grid : The grid is an object in the SAP IS-U system that corresponds to the service area or part of
the service area of a distributor. We manage grids for a distributor.
Device Information Record : The device information record is an object in the IS-U system
that enables the system to perform billing-orientated functions.

15. Basic Terminology of EDM : II
Settlement Area : Within a settlement area the energy generation and energy
consumption are compared for a single supplier for a settlement coordinator.(Control
Area Operator)
Settlement Unit : The settlement unit is an object in the IS-U system that corresponds
to a settlement area.
Schedules : Scheduled inform the Transmission System operator of the energy quantities
that a supplier supplies to a settlement area or withdraws from an area.
Selection Variants : A selection variant compiles settlement units that are to be settled
together
Settlement Document : Before you can have a settlement run one has to create a
document. It Has the settlement procedure, settlement period, settlement mode,
selection variant.

16. Basic Terminology of EDM : III
Selection Type : Selection types allow you to group together points of delivery that are
relevant to settlement according to predefined criteria.
Settlement Procedure : Collection of Settlement steps. Can be executed using a workflow or
Report.
