Life, Love, Happiness -- What's Life Really?
1. Life, Love, Happiness -- What's Life Really?
Psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor Viktor Frankl once wrote, "Life is never made unbearable by
circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose." For many people, feeling happy and
finding life meaningful are both associated and significant targets. But do happiness and meaning go
together? It seems improbable, given that a lot of the things that we regularly choose to do - from
running marathons to raising children - are not likely to increase our day to day happiness.

away at any time, which means you should be happy with your life and willing to perish for any given
minute. Morbid? No. Fair? Yes.
