                     Cushman & Wakefield Ottawa Launches
                       Green Real Estate Practice Group


Ottawa, January 4, 2010:


Cushman & Wakefield Ottawa has launched Ottawa’s first dedicated Green Real Estate Practice
Group with the initial appointments of James McNeil Associate, Vice President and Sales
Representative as Practice Lead and Scott Brooker, Sales Representative as a valued member.
The team forms an integral part of Cushman & Wakefield Ottawa’s Commercial Sales & Leasing
division.

The Green Real Estate Practice Group (“GPG”) has been formed to advise C&W Ottawa clients on
the growing range of environmental, sustainability and energy requirements and considerations
associated with the purchase, disposal, occupation and development of commercial land and
buildings. The GPG assists clients in navigating Ottawa’s commercial real estate landscape to find
workplace solutions that align with their environmental commitments, and help corporate clients
establish more sustainable property portfolios.

Alain Desmarais, Senior Managing Director at C&W Ottawa said: “Environmental sustainability is

James McNeil is a LEED Accredited Professional with over 20 successful years in the commercial

real estate industry. He has diversified experience in office, industrial and retail properties and
extensive experience in portfolio management, development, marketing and leasing. James
received a Leadership in Business Award from Earth Day Ottawa for his commitment to the
environment and was nominated as Corporate Citizen of the Year by the Kanata Chamber of
Commerce. He is a member of the board of directors of the Canada Green Building Council Ottawa
Chapter and is a member of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Environment Committee. He has
lectured on leasing, sustainable real estate and market-related topics to industry stakeholders and
holds the designation of Real Property Administrator.

Scott Brooker sits on the Natural Resources Canada Advisory Committee for Sustainable Reporting
in the Commercial and Institutional Building Sector, is a member of the Canada
Green Building Council Ottawa Chapter and the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation. He
holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in International Business from Dalhousie University and the
Copenhagen Business School, and two diplomas from Algonquin College in Marketing and
Business Administration.
