Select Role from drop-down: Subscriber, Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor
     – Subscriber: Somebody who can only manage their profile
     – Administrator: Somebody who has access to all the administration features
     – Editor: Somebody who can publish and manage post and pages as well as mange
        other users’ post
     – Author: Somebody who can publish and manage their own posts
     – Contributor: Somebody who can write and manage their posts but not publish
        them

  1. First Poll question – Blog_usage
  2. Go to http://wp.vcu.eduClick on Log in (the link is in the lower right-hand corner under the heading Meta)Enter your VCU eID and passwordNext to your name, click on Visit Dashboard or Visit SiteIf this is your first time logging in, your blog with your name is automatically created.
  3. Poll question: (What link would you email?) Once you log in with your VCU eID your WordPress site is automatically created. What is the URL/web address for your site:a. http://wp.vcu.edu/VCU b. http://wp.vcu.edu/(Your eID) c. http://wp.vcu.edu/IDontKnow d. None of the above
  4. Make sure you are on the Dashboard for the Blog/Site. If you have created more than one site, select the dashboard for the site you want to post to under My Sites.Click on PostsClick on Add NewEnter title in the box with Enter Title hereEnter the text for your postingClick on PublishClick on Visit Site to see your published postClick on Dashboard to post additional entries to the blog/site
  5. Make sure you are on the Dashboard for the Blog/Site. If you have created more than one site, select the dashboard for the site you want to post to under My Sites.Click on PostsHold the cursor over the entry that you would like to edit and click on EditMake any changes and click on UpdateClick on Visit Site to see your published entryClick on Dashboard to make more changes to the blog/site
