• Owner of the Dallas Mavericks, a NBA
basketball team and owner of HDNet,
which is a HDTV cable network
• Left high school early to enroll at
Pittsburgh University then later
transferred to Indiana University

• Founded MicroSolutions which deals with
system software and integrators; founded
technologies such as carbon copy, lotus
notes and CompuServe
• Then founded Broadcast.com which dealt
with college sports and web casting which
became part of yahoo sports after Cuban
sold it for $5.9 Billion in yahoo stock
4. Billionaire Entrepreneur
• Forbes listed him as the 296th richest
man
• Holds single largest eCommerce
transaction with his $40 million jet
• Has ventures in the social software and
distributed networking industries
5. Dallas Mavericks
• Took over ownership of the Mavericks on
January 15 2000 for $285 million
• Drastically improved their winning
percentage over his time of being owner
• Different than most owners who sit in the
box, Cuban sits right next to the team and is
very active during games.
6. HDNet
• This is the first high definition television
satellite network
• Co-founder with Phillip Garvin
• Continues to bring multiple shows, movies,
political events, documentaries and sporting
events in HD all over the globe
• Only broadcasts in HD and is available on
both cable and satellite TV’s
7. 2929 Entertainment
• Co-founder with Todd Wagner
• Provides vertically integrated the production
and the distribution of films and other videos
• In 2004 purchased Landmark Theaters which
has 58 arthouse movie theaters
• Has produced one movie, Bubble which came
out in 2006
• Also responsible for recreating the CBS show

8. Other interests of Cuban
• Has had interest in buying other sports
teams. Those include the Pittsburgh
Penguins of the NHL and either the
Pittsburgh Pirates or the Chicago Cubs of the
MLB
• Cuban was also rumored to own a new
football team in a new professional football
league in Las Vegas

• Those the UFL’s games will be
broadcast on Cuban’s HDNet and he
will possibly own a new expansion
team in either 2010 or 2011
• Talks with the McMahon’s (a wrestling
family) to create a mixed martial arts
to compete with the UFC
