This document summarizes research on developing a botanical pesticide from Lantana camara plant leaves to control pests like maize weevils. The researchers determined that 75g of the Lantana pesticide powder is recommended for 250g of maize seeds. Tests found the pesticide effectively repelled over 96% of maize weevils within 9 days. However, the pesticide has disadvantages like a strong smell and requiring a high amount to be mixed with the seeds. In conclusion, the study confirmed a botanical pesticide can be prepared from Lantana leaves and used effectively for 9 days to control maize weevils during storage.
