These are the slides I used for my presentation at the IATEFL Rome BESIG summer mini-conference. They're basically an updated version of my last slides discussing how to make a good PowerPoint. It includes a lesson I use with my EFL students for the first 49 slides. Skip to slide 50 if you just want the advice.

- 6. There’s a Yale professor, Edward Tufte, who wrote a whole book about how the presentations we give are fundamentally flawed. He explains how the mass of facts, figures and information up on the screen actually detract attention from what the presenter is saying. He goes on to mention many of the worst faults of presenters who use PowerPoint. Ummmmmm…… Faults like reading out every single word on their ever so verbose slides.
