2. History of the Carnival on the
world
The celebration of Carnival has its probable
origin in pagan festivals, such as those
performed in honor of Bacchus, the god of
wine, the Roman Saturnalia and the
Lupercalia, or to be made in honor of the
Apis bull in Egypt.

3. According to some historians, the origins of
Carnival can be traced back to ancient
Sumeria and Egypt, more than 5.000 years,
with similar celebrations in the Roman
Empire, where the custom spread throughout
Europe, being brought to America by Spanish
and Portuguese navigators who colonized us
from the fifteenth century.

4. The Carnival "Christian"
The celebration of Carnival is one of the most popular
holidays. It is celebrated in countries with Christian
tradition, before Lent. Usually, in many places is
celebrated for three days, and designated by the
name of carnival, and are the three days preceding
Ash Wednesday, which is the day Lent begins in the
Christian calendar.
It is assumed that the word carnival comes from
medieval Latin "carnelevarium" meaning "to remove
the flesh" and referring to the religious prohibition of
eating meat during the forty days of Lent.

celebrates carnival of the
cookie in honors of the
cookies industries that are
present in the village since
before 1.881.
Carnival began in 1989 by a
group of friends and has
continued every year and
increasing participation up to
10.000 peoples, the
participation of the main
parade that place on
Saturday evening.

Counts on the
collaboration of the
catering and other
groups of the village.
It has a program that
begins on Friday with a
meeting and followed by
parades, competition, p
erformances, tasting of
typical sweets and ends
on Tuesday night whit
the burning of the
cookie.

10. Aguilar the opening
speech on the Friday’s
night is done by the
mayor and one of the
council read the
proclamation and give
informacion on how they
will be the carnival this
year. After the speech,
there is a show some
dancing, magic tricks
type representacion o
other thing.

finished the carnival
starts,
Then the people start
getting dressed for
«cambio de sexo»

Parade

13. The parade is the main event of the carnival, children and adults dress
up, all is colourful. In the parade costume contest the winner receives
some money which can only spend in Aguilar.
In this event involved many people from Aguilar.
Besides being fun and entertaining, the floats are beautiful and it shows
the effort they have made building them.
The parade is on Saturday and
Sunday, these days people come out with
their coaches in the guise of different
groups ways.It is mades a parade through
the streets of Aguilar. After a while when
the journey is made all the people arrives
to the square.

14. The big event will come at eleven at night with the start of the parade
from the Avenida de Cervera and will end around midnight at the
square of Spain.
In the parade were many groups with children of all ages.The
parade is great fun, music, dance ...
People has a blast and end of the parade are the prizes in the
square. The most beautiful floats take top awards

16. In Aguilar de Campo in the carnival held a contest in
which people who is working in a bar also disguise the
bar. Owners have to decorate the bar and the best
can win. In the picture there is one of the winners of
the last year

19. In Aguilar some people decided to
dress up their pets, sometimes they
dress up with funny costumes and
other times with normal costumes.
This tradition of dressing up the pets
is not for anything in
particular, that’s because the
owners of the animals want to do
it, because the truth is a fun way to
have fun with your pet.
Moreover, the judges select the
best costume and then give a prize
to the concursants who are chose.
It is very fun to see the funny
costumes of puppies and kittens
among many other things.
It is one of the best days for
everyone in this town!

21. In Spain exist the tradition of
celebrate the Carnival ,before
Holly Week,specifically.
The last year I celebrate in Aguilar
de Campoo ,in this place a lot of
people do their costumes and
sometimes they dress up their pets.
The last year a girl wons the contest
with her dog,the costume of the
dog was like that of its owner.I like it
a lot.The cats and a lot of pets
participe in this contest.Sometimes
the people decides to dress up
their pets with costumes of pirates
or cowboys among a lot of more
things.
It’s to cool!

23. We going to peparate the carnival with our
teachers. The tittle of the carnival is: the music
styles. We going to do four groups. One group
dresses up the disco style, other group rock
style, other group hippy style and the last group
cabaret style. We going to the school on
Saturday afternoons to preparate the costumes.
Also we are going to make a twister game, the
twister have four pieces: the peace symbol,
cabaret symbol, the rock symbol and disco
symbol. When the twister marks cabaret the the
people going to dress cabaret, have to dance.
This is and example of the making twister. This
year is going to be very funny.

participe in the parade.

26. The carnival of Aguilar de Campóo is especial because
the last day of carnival celebrates the burn of biscuit
this celebrate the last day of carnival and is hot
because the biscuit burn and dismiss very hot .When
the biscuit is burn the firefighter off the flames.
People dress up of widow and cry in front of biscuit.
I like dress up of widow because is funny.
This day the City Hall organize a and the winer win
many.

27. the charsters of the burn of
cookie are fireworks and the
details of statue of cookie. This
celebrate start in 1978
On the lat day players were among the first
institutions thatchanged thanks to the competition
aspect dress up your workplaces, who handed
three prizes of 200€. Thus, abank became the feria
de Cordoba, most original, «a clotthing store, on a
pirate ship, best servize», or residence in an
Egiptian oasis best set.

28. In the afternoon , put the sweet note
tasting contest and appendages.

old, people dress in costumes of
the seventeenth century Venetian

have left any box.

is one of the most beautiful carnivals
around the world each year for these
months will people .Is very fun the
people dance the samba. This
carnival costumes, has worked over
last year to participate in this
wonderful carnival.

Brazil listen music and dance
samba. In these days many
tourists travel to Paraguay to
witness this beautiful and
colorful carnival costumes
