Synopsis
Male = Leo
Popular Girl = Poppy
Original Girl = Eliza
The main characters include a male and a female: both characters being a part of the
‘popular’ group. The male is waiting at the coffee shop however he receives a prank call
by his friends. The girl sees him at a coffee shop and finds out that he has been stood up
on a date. Because of her big ego, she believes that he’s staged the whole thing to get her
attention so she goes over to him and starts a conversation and flirts with him. Out of
politeness, he buys her a drink but she thinks it’s him flirting back. The original girl didn’t
stand him up, she was actually late to the date but she sees them together, which leads
to her becoming angry. The next day in front of their friends the ‘popular girl’ is flirting
with him more than usual and acting like she thinks she’s his girlfriend. The original girl
sees it all and leads to her becoming jealous and angry. He asks to talk to her in private
and explains that he’s uncomfortable so she reveals that she knows he ‘staged’ being
stood up just to get her attention and that he’s in love with her. He denies it all and tells
her to leave him alone from now on. The girl acts like she is unaffected by the rejection
and she walks away however she is secretly angry because no one has ever rejected her
before (audience doesn’t see this). Everything for him goes ‘back to normal’ (montage –
at school, group of friends, male walking to his house and Facebook messages) but that
evening on his way to work he gets a phone call from an anonymous number but instead
of speaking there is a song being played down the line. He thinks it’s either spam or a
prank call so he ends it and forgets about it. He also receives notes/CD disk in his locker
from an anonymous person and a picture of himself. On his way to work again that night
he gets a phone call which is the same as the first one but he still believes it’s just a prank
from his friends. That night at work he’s asked to lock up. Just before he’s about to leave
the stereo turns on, playing a random song. He can’t find the remote for the stereo so he
goes to the cupboard where the system is run from to turn the whole thing off manually
but as he’s about to, the song changes to the one he’d been hearing through the phone
calls, leaving him confused and a little unnerved. He walks out of the room to see all of
the lights off apart from one at the opposite end of the room where she is standing under
it and one above where he is standing. As she starts walking towards him, the song’s
chorus starts over and by the time she reaches him, she pauses the music and whispers
the last line of the chorus in a monotone. The whole screen then just goes back and the
credits roll.
