This document outlines four assignments for a 3D Modelling and Animation course. Assignment 1 involves designing a gateway for a polytechnic with a minimum height of 5.5m and maximum of 10m due for week 4. Assignment 2 and 3 requires redesigning a bus shelter and kiosk due for week 6. Assignment 4 and 5 involve creating 2-3 minute animations of the gateway and bus shelter/kiosk designs from the previous assignments, due for weeks 7 and 9 respectively. Marks will be given based on creativity, design complexity, 3D modeling skills, rendering quality, and overall completeness.

Students are required to propose a Gateway design for Polytechnic of Sultan Idris Shah(PSIS). The task may
enhance the skills of 3D shape command, modifier command to create architectural computer generated
models. The submission of model of PSIS Gateway should be composed in A4 size format paper. Marks shall be
given based on the creativity of design, skills of manipulating the 3D tools, angle’s view ,aesthetics appearance
of composition layout and overall completeness.

TASK
Students are required to redesign a Bus Shelter with Kiosk for Polytechnic of Sultan Idris Shah(PSIS). Task given may
challenge student’s capability to produce a 3D model with concern on ergonomics & anthropometrics of Bus
Shelter and small Kiosk. The submission of Bus Shelter + Kiosk of PSIS should be composed in A4 size format paper.
Marks shall be given based on the creativity & complexity of design, skills of manipulating 3D tools, angle’s view,
layout composition, shadow & lighting effect rendering, and overall completeness.

Students are required to create animation of PSIS Gateway (assignment 01) within 2-3 minutes. Task given may
challenge student’s capability to produce a simple animation by using SketchUp's software. The submission of
animation should be compiled and burned in CD together with simple sketching of ‘story board’. Marks
shall be given based on the story board planning, creative camera positioning, smooth range of video
frame, video quality rendering, shadow on day effects, and overall compositions.

TASK (animation)
Students are required to create animation of PSIS Bus Shelter + Kiosk (assignment 02) within 2-3 minutes. Task given
may challenge student’s capability to produce final touch animation by using plugin’s software (lumion, artlantis,
any kind of animation software). The animation also should be edit and adding the elemens of sound, words and
effects. The submission of animation should be compiled and burned in CD together with simple sketching
of ‘story board’. Marks shall be given based on the story board planning, creative camera positioning,
smooth range of video editing, video quality rendering, shadow + night lighting effects, and overall
compositions.
