2. Tadao Ando - Chapel at Mount Rokko
In this project we were assigned well known
buildings by acclaimed Architects, we were
then supposed to research the buildings and
find any existing Plans and Sections and
analyze them. After learning what we could
about our assigned projects we were then to
begin redrafting the documents using Auto-
CAD. The assignment also required that in
the process of reconstructing the documents
we generate new documents, by choosing
new areas to take sections from and filling in
the information from those sections based
on the information we gained by analysing
the existing documents. This was our first
introduction to the Autodesk software and
has served as the foundation for further
design development in almost all projects
since.

6. Fountain Inn Light Rail Station
This is actually the second part to a larger
project which involved the masterplanning of
a town in South Carolina named Fountain
Inn. While creating that masterplan my part-
ner and I realized the importance of the
Railroad in the original design of the town
and sought to bring that significant infastruc-
ture back into importance for the town. The
way that we proposed to do that was by
Greenville
creating a new Light Rail service from
Greenville to Fountain Inn with the new train
Station forming a new focal point for the
town. While developing this project I began
to utilize AutoCAD and Rhino as my main
design tools as well as the Adobe Creative
Suite for layout and other design elements.
The following project is my Individual design
for our proposed Light Rail Station connect- Fountain Inn

11. Replicating an object with Illustratior
While this project was not completed for an
Architecture studio It has great importance to
my understanding and development of the
design tools used in studio. Specifically the
Adobe Creative Suite; I took a Graphics
Communications Course which focused on
utilizing and understaning the tools found in
the Adobe Suite. The programs covered in
this class were Photoshop, Illustrator, and
Indesign. The example shown here is my
final project for the illustrator portion of the
course in which we were supposed to find a
picture of an object and replicate it using the
tools found in Illustrator only. This involved
many of the advanced tools and exemplifies
a deep understanding of the program.
13. Passieg- Marketplace and Public Space
This is the most recent project I have com-
pleted. Over the last semester I have been
studying abroad in Barcelona, during this
studio we were given a location in the city to
design a marketplace in. The location my
partner and I were given was within the
Eixamlpe ( which is the planned and gridded
area of the city) The location was located in
the interior of one of the blocks and was
hard to access so my partner and I focused
mainly on a way to draw people into the
space, drawing on the Idea of a pocket park
and green roof above the marketplace. This
project allowed us to design for a real world
setting and exposed us to some of the diffi-
culties surrounding the development of new
architecture within an existing build environ-
ment. An additional challenge we faced was
Identifying and catering to a different culture
than we were familiar with. Overall the proj-
ect was a success
14. PASSEIG CONNECTING MARKETPLACE TO PUBLIC SPACE
SHANE SMITH WORTH YOUNTS
Operative Mapping:
Upon Inspection and study of the Area where the site is situated we arrived at the conclusion that the major
problem that needed to be corrected was the lack of access to the site. To resolve this deficiency we made a study of
the building facades which were visible from possible points of entry. This analysis was undertaken from varying heights
within the site from street level to terrace level in order to broaden our understanding of the visual impact of the space
on upon entry. From this process we made decisions regarding new and existing points of entry as well as possible
Interaction with surrounding buildings based on the flexibility of program.

15. How do we bring
people into the space? What
happens once they are there? These
first and most important questions are
what shaped and guided the course
of our Market Proposal. Situated
within the Eixample where our
market intervention is to take place
there is a space with great poten-
tial that is currently being utilized We envision our
as a parking deck. Our proposal Project as a path not
involves keeping and repurpos- just to the market
ing this space for the proposed space, but a path
market and the construction THROUGH the
of a green roof and public market place TO the
space in the area above. public space by
activating previously
dead waste space
within the Eixample
and transforming it
into a usable and
enjoyable public
