Weather is the way the outside air is  at a certain time and place.  Ex: In Florida, the weather is often hot in the summer.  A cloud is a white or gray mass floating high in the sky. Ex:  The sun came out from behind the cloud.  Unit 7 Week 1 Unit 7 Week 1 weather cloud A drizzle is a light rain.  Ex: I like to take a walk when it drizzles.  Unit 7: Week 1 drizzle When it is blustery, there is a strong wind blowing. Ex: On a blustery day, you can see the trees swaying. Unit 7: Week 1 blustery
There are twelve months in one year.  January is the first month.  December is the last month.  Ex: September is the first month of fall.  A season is a time of year.  Winter, spring, summer, and fall are the four seasons. Ex:  My favorite season is summer because I like the warm weather.  Unit 7  Week 2 Unit 7: Week 2 months season chilly To be chilly means to be a little cold. Ex: When I’m chilly, I get under a blanket.  Unit 7: Week 1 When you shiver, your whole body shakes or trembles.  Ex: The children were shivering when they came out  of the cold lake.  Unit 7: Week 2 shiver
When animals hibernate, they spend the winter in a deep sleep.  Ex: Animals hibernate to get through the winter without much food. When you experience something, you do, see or are a part of something.  Ex:  Bears experience winter by hibernating in caves. Unit 7  Week 3 Unit 7: Week 3 hibernate experience When the weather is mild, it is not too hot and not too cold. Ex: A bright sun and mild temperatures are perfect  for playing outside.  Unit 7: Week 2 mild warning A warning is a way of telling that something bad  is going to happen.  Ex: The yellow sign was a warning that the floor was slippery.  Unit 7: Week 2
If something is cozy, it is warm, comfortable, and snug. Ex: The kittens felt cozy in a little basket.  When the sky is clear, it is bright and not cloudy. Ex: Flying a kite is fun on a clear day.  Unit 7: Week  3 Unit 7: Week  3 cozy clear retreat When you retreat, you go away from something.  Ex: When there’s a thunderstorm, my dog  retreats under the chair.  Unit 7: Week  3
