This document provides guidance and examples for creating a PowerPoint presentation about dinosaurs and paleontologists using text, photos, graphics, and animations. It suggests including slides that tell a story through a series of pictures with occasional text slides. Examples shared include presentations that use pictures only or that insert graphics on photos to simulate movement. The document also provides examples of videos that effectively convey information through photos and voiceover as well as a quiz and song about dinosaurs that could be recreated in PowerPoint. It encourages drawing dinosaurs to include and provides links to resources.
2. Present the information
you have found in your
research on Dinosaurs and
Paleontologists.
You might want to make a
PowerPoint slideshow with
text, photos and graphics.
The following slides will
give you some ideas how
to make that slideshow
exciting.
3. The Mystery of the Ankylosaurus
http://www.sdnhm.org/archive/kids/dinosaur/ankylosaur.html
This slideshow can be found on the Dinosaur Dig Website.
This is a great example of how a series of pictures can tell a story, with a few
text slides every now and then filling in more details.
To make similar presentation you could use Photo Story 3 or PowerPoint.
Draw your pictures in Paint or Artrage, save them.
4. This animation uses Pictures
only.
Create a similar animation in
PowerPoint, or MovieMaker.
Create your pictures in Paint or
Artrage.
Or create them in PowerPoint as
a Visual Diorama (see next slide).
You will need to set the timing to
make the slides move quickly.

have no backgrounds on them.
Create an animated story with several slides moving the
graphics slightly to give the impression of movement.
6. This video presents only the
most important information
but tells us everything we
need to know in an overview.
Make something similar using
photos, graphics and a voice
over.

MovieMaker, PowerPoint or http://video.nationalgeographic.com/v

answers.
Highlight the text or object, press Ctrl – K.
Click on ‘Place in this document.’
Click on the Slide you want to link to.
Click OK.
9. Watch this Youtube movie.
This catchy song tells the story about the
different types of dinosaurs.
You could do the same, turn your writing into
a song, make the words fit a tune like ‘Old

Learn how to draw this
dinosaur at Funorama.
Draw it on paper first and then
try to draw it in Paint and
Artrage.
Don’t forget to save it so you
can use it in your final
presentation.
Look at the other file ‘How to
