Journey to awesome Hill Stations in Kerala, South India.
If there’s one word that can describe the quintessence of the Kerala feel, it
would
be enigma. Everything about Kerala carries that element of curiosity and
surprise.
It is simply because this land has been described as the place the God chose
as
his abode. Many a folklore has sung a thousand hymns of praise about this
heavenly
destination. Very obviously, every experience you come across in Kerala will
have
that element of divinity.

Day 1
Arrival
Arrival at Cochin International Airport. Check – in to a hotel. Kochi,
often known
as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, is believed to be the finest
natural harbour in
the world. The pretty city was built initially by the Portuguese,
then Dutch and
later the British, shoulder to shoulder with the Kochi Maharajas.
The result of
these cultural interfaces is seen in the remains of the Indo-
European architecture
here. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2
Kochi
Enjoy the day with local sightseeing of Kochi. Places of interest
include St. Francis
Church, Dutch Palace (closed on Fridays), Jewish Synagogue
(closed on Fridays and
Saturdays) etc. Also, you can have glimpses of Chinese fishing
nets and stroll through
the fragrant streets of the spice market. Overnight stay at the
hotel.

Day 3
Transfer to Munnar (140kms / 4.5 hours)
Departure to Munnar. On arrival, check – in to a hotel. Munnar
is one of the finest
hill stations in the Western Ghats renowned for tranquil
settings and serene spots.
Tea plantations, forest reserves, hills, winding roads, all add to
the charm of
the beautiful Munnar. Places of interest include the famous
Iravikulam National
Park and Tea Museum. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4
Munnar
Spend the day with local sightseeing in Munnar. Places of
interest include Mattupetty
Dam, Kundala Lakes, Echo point, Tea Plantation etc. Overnight
stay at the hotel.

Day 5
Transfer to Thekkady (112 kms / 3.5hours)
Off to Thekkady by road. On arrival, check – in to a hotel.
Thekkady is home to
the Periyar National Park which is also famous as a Tiger
reserve. The park encompasses
26 sq. kms of area and has a cool and comfortable climate.
There is an artificial
lake on which you can take a boat ride to have glimpses of wild
life on both the
sides. You can also go for trekking and mountain walks or visit
spice plantations.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6
Transfer to Kumarakom (122 kms / 3 hours)
Off to Kumarakom in the morning. Check – in to a hotel. After
noon, you can pay
a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is home to some
of the most astonishing
migratory birds. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 7
Houseboat
Check – in to a house boat at 12:00 hrs from Kumarakom. Enjoy
the mystic Kerala
backwaters, which also offer glimpses of the rich flora and
fauna of village life.
Overnight in the houseboat.

Day 8
Transfer to Kovalam (176 kms / 5 hours)
Cruise through the canal to reach jetty in the morning. Check –
out at 9:00 AM.
Departure to Kovalam near Trivandrum. On arrival, check – in
to a hotel. Overnight
in the hotel.

Day 9
Trivandrum
Spend the day with the local sightseeing of the city of
Trivandrum. Places of interest
include the Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Napier Museum,
Kanakakkunnu Palace and Art
Gallery.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10
Departure
You will be dropped at the Trivandrum International Airport for
onward journey.
End of the tour.
