Challenge
Richard Astle, Chairman of Shine, is embarking on a year of challenges
to mark his 10 anniversary as Chair of this Peterborough-based charity.

Richard is hoping to raise £25,000 to fund a new Health and Wellbeing Centre for
people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
As the Managing Director of Athene Communications, Richard has set himself these
challenges: three 10K runs, five half marathons and a trek across the Sahara
Desert!
This is a huge undertaking and Richard would appreciate your support through

Larne 1/2 Marathon, Larne, Northern Ireland

Race details:
Taking in the beautiful scenery of Larne,
Northern Ireland, this is the second
Chairman’s Challenge which will see the
race distance increase to a 13.1 mile halfmarathon.

Richard return to his home town with

8. Challenge Six
Dales Destroyer, 40 mile hike, Derbyshire

Hike details:
The Dales Destroyer is better known as the Limestone Way, a 40 mile
walk across Derbyshire from Castleton to Tissington taking in many
of the best known and most beautiful parts of the Peak District dales.
Our aim is to complete the walk in the course of one day, starting at
7am and finishing by 9pm on 16 August 2014.
There are three ways to be involved:
1. Join me and attempt to complete the whole walk in one day.
2. Join me at various stages of the walk, completing sections of the
challenge according to your own plan.
3. Form a team and compete against other teams to see who can
conquer the Dales Destroyer first! - PRIZES FOR THE FIRST THREE

our members with spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
