The Catholic University of Sudan has developed a two-phased Agricultural Research and Extension Programme to support smallholder farmers. Phase I involves an agricultural curriculum and student-led extension efforts. Phase II will establish the Bussere Research and Extension Centre. The program will take an integrated approach of extension and research on topics like resource management. It employs a participatory training model and aims to build student and community relationships over five years of implementation from 2009-2014. The budget projects expenditures and funding sources to make the program financially sustainable.
