TYPES IN TIMEZONE ?
Greenwich Mean Time (GMT): GMT was historically used as the standard
time at the prime meridian. It is based on the mean solar time at the Royal
Observatory in Greenwich. However, to have a more precise and
internationally accepted time standard, GMT has been largely replaced by
Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Prime Meridian (0 degrees longitude): The prime meridian is an imaginary
line that runs from the North Pole to the South Pole, passing through the Royal
Observatory in Greenwich, London. It serves as the baseline from which other
longitudes are measured.

HOW IT WORKS ?
Different regions have different standard times due to the Earth's rotation and
the division of the world into time zones. Time zones are determined by
longitudinal positions, with each zone typically representing one hour of
difference from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) or Greenwich Mean Time
(GMT). As the Earth rotates, different regions experience daylight and
darkness at varying times, necessitating standardized time references for
efficient coordination and communication on a global scale.

WHY TIMEZONE WERE ESTABLISHED ?
Time zones were established in the 19th century to address scheduling
challenges brought about by the rise of railroads and telegraphs. Sir Sandford
Fleming's proposal at the International Meridian Conference in 1884 led to the
division of the world into 24 time zones, with GMT as the prime meridian. This
standardized system, essential for global communication and travel, evolved
over time, eventually culminating in the adoption of Coordinated Universal
Time (UTC).
