Excerpt Of The King Akbar
The first excerpt is written by ABU L FAŻL ʿALLĀMĪ, historian, officer, chief secretary, and friend
of the Mughal emperor Akbar I. Born on 6 Moḥarram 958/14 January 1551, he was the second son of
Shaikh Mobārak, a teacher and scholar who had migrated to Agra in 950/1543 from Nagaur,
Rajasthan. Abu l Fażl served as Akbar s spokesman par excellence, shaping, enunciating, and
commemorating the principles advocated by the emperor. (EATON 1983) The genre of the first
excerpt is basically in religious context and a historical significance of that event that took place. The
excerpt deals with the new religious innovations done at akbars time and history of his reign. This is
also written for the sons of akbar showing them the whole history of the empire, rules and regulations

He also showed that his new way of bringing people together by assimilating different religious
teachings also was not that successful. As badauni was a historian so in his account he has put some
biasness in it like how Akbar got jealous when sheikh was successful. His rivalry with al fazl was also
seen.
Both excerpts complement each other like the first one talks Christian missionary coming to akbars
court and they to convey their message to akbar. Akbar learned different things about whereas the
second excerpt talks about the aftermath of that event like how sheikhs and faqirs were against the
idea of letting other religion to come to the court
The both narratives gives us a lot of information about Akbar s religious policies. The accounts
conflict each other. The first excerpt tried to show Akbar in a limelight of he was welcoming to other
religions ansd how keen he was in learning other religious teachings. Akbar characteristic of
welcoming and kindness is portrayed by abu l fazl. Whereas in other excerpt it shows how Akbar had
failed in bringing other religions together and was not capable of

Renaissance And Reformation Similarities
Renaissance and Reformation
Renaissance:
People began to feel a consciousness of their past, they no longer settled for the status quo. As a result,
there was a desire to rediscover knowledge in various disciplines, and to expand on them. The
renaissance was a period of broadening knowledge. It was a time of rebirth in human existence, a time
of new discoveries. It was an era in which the feudal system declined, invention and application of:
paper, printing, the mariner s compass, and gunpowder began. The Renaissance was a revival of
classical art.
Why is it important? This era taught us to look back upon our past for support. The Renaissance
connects our past, our present, and our future together. New beliefs came into sight and suddenly ...

It set structures and the beliefs for the modern era we know today. A period in which the papal
authority was challenged and questioned.
Why is it important? The Protestant Reformation was a time period that changed Christianity. During
this era, the Pope was considered the ultimate authority and not the king. Life revolved around the
church. After the movement, kings became the ultimate source of power once again. Without this
change, the Catholic Church might still be in control today.
Who?
Martin Luther rejected several teachings and practices of the church. He believed that freedom from
sin didn t have to be bought. Luther proposed his discussion of the usefulness of the indulgences in his
95 theses in 1517. In 1520, he refused to retract his writings by the commands of Pope Leo X and the
Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, at the Diet of Worms in 1521. He was excommunicated by the pope
and condemned as an outlaw by the emperor. John Calvin, the founder of Calvinism, believed in
absolute dominance of God in salvation of the human soul from death and eternal sentence. He wrote
many commentaries on most books in the Bible and created a lot of controversy. Calvin helped reform
the church in Geneva. His spent his final years promoting reformation throughout

Sarah Elshater s The Problem Of The Essential Indexical
Indexicals are important distinguishers of context within sentences. They are expressions that can be
uttered by multiple speakers, and have a different meaning or implication each time it is spoken. For
me to say I am Sarah Elshater has one meaning, for my older brother to say I am Sarah Elshater has a
completely separate meaning and would likely cause concern within my family should he say such a
thing. In The Problem of the Essential Indexical by John Perry, the notion of locating beliefs is
mentioned as an essential part of indexicals, as indexicals allow the speaker s belief to be expressed.
On page 5, Perry writes I shall use the term locating beliefs to refer to one s beliefs about where one
is, when it is, and who one is (Perry, The Problem of the Essential Indexical). ... Show more content

As I have countless documented proof that I am, in fact, Sarah Elshater, my utterance of the sentence
simply means that I know my name, and I am declaring my knowledge. For my brother to say that
sentence, he could have a sarcastic or mocking tone, which could indicate that he is joking. Or, he
could be genuine with his declaration, where he actually believes he is Sarah Elshater, in which case
we would take him to the hospital to have his brain checked out. When it comes to indexicals, content
is key to deciphering context, and without content, it can become difficult to understand a person s
intent. In this paper, I will outline Perry s problem of the essential indexical, as well as outline his
solution for this problem. In doing this, I will also make arguments for Perry s arguments about the

The Classic Remember The Titans By Boaz Yakin
Boaz Yakin s timeless classic Remember The Titans, is a story that encompasses and explores many
empathetic topics such as friendship, sport, racism, teenagehood, rivalry and leadership. The film is
based on a true story about a ruthless high school American football team named The Titans. It was set
in the American Confederate state, Virginia during 1971... A year which spawned the ruling out of the
colour based school segregation system in Virginia and a year which spawned the beginning of a new
era of racism, hate and separation for its inhabitants. The movie follows the football team and how
they inspired the town to shred its colour barrier and come together on their journey to their winning
of the state championship. This would not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of when he donned his coaching cape was towards the beginning of the movie when he
said to Coach Yoast, I came here to coach the G.W. I didn t ask the schools to re district and I didn t
ask to be assigned to your staff, so I guess we re both in a situation we don t want to be in. But I can
guarantee you this coach. I come to win. This is a great display of his passion for football, winning
and his coach like aura that he emanates so well with his words. Another role he takes on is a teacher.
He becomes a teacher, off the football pitch when he decided to help Louie Lastic boost his marks, so
that he would be eligible to go to college at the end of the year. He helped Louie outside of training
and tutored him so that he could pass. This is not necessary for a coach to do, since it is more than
what he is required to do and yet he did it anyway. This demonstrates that he cared about individual
team members as well as the whole team and that falls well in hand next to his coaching methods.
Coach Boone s coaching method was intense and authoritarian like. There are many ways of coaching
a sporting team or sportsman, but Coach Boone s motto was undeniably, This is the line. Say goodbye
to it now because we aren t just crossing the line. We going far away from it. He pushed his players to
both their physical and mental breaking point that even his assistant coach questioned his ways. There
was a point in the movie that showed this pretty well and

Endogenous DNA Damage
Since the DNA structure was discovered more than 50 years ago, the mechanisms how genetic
information encoded by DNA was preserved and how the integrity of transmission in between
generations was maintained have been one of the top questions kept being asked. It has been well
accepted that the integrity of human genome is maintained by mechanisms to protect DNA from
damage either generated spontaneously during endogenous DNA biogenesis including replication or
transcription or induced by exogenous environmental factors (Ciccia and Elledge, 2010; Jackson and
Bartek, 2009; Lord and Ashworth, 2012).
Endogenous DNA damage can be due to alterations of DNA during replication, transcription, or other
process of DNA biogenesis at different rates. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Failure of overcoming such lesions will cause chromosome duplication failure and may lead to mitotic
catastrophe, complex chromosomal rearrangements, and tumorigenesis. Multiple mechanisms are
developed by the cells to sense and respond to such type of lesions. In replication fork stalling, the cell
senses the lesion with replication protein A as well as its downstream factors. At the same time, the
Fanconi Anemia proteins facilitates the interstrand crosslinking lesions (see next section, 1.3.2).
Particularly, FANCM, together with its binding partners MHFs and FAAP24, will facilitate the
activation of ATR/CHK1 signaling pathway for further repair. After proper responses to the replication
stresses, the stalled or collapsed replication forks will be restarted (Collis et al., 2008; Wang et al.,
2013). Under certain circumstances, single strand DNA gaps will remain on the DNA strand even
though the stalled replication forks are successfully overcome, in which a DNA clamp, proliferating
cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), and other proteins will function in a postreplication repair to further fix
the damages left (Tian et al.,

General Description of Edwards SAPIEN XT Transcatheter Heart
Valve.
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), or Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), is a
relatively new surgical procedure to combat aortic stenosis. When the aortic valve gets occluded from
a congenital defect, or damage from
calcium or scarring ,1 blood cannot flow through the valve efficiently. This leads to decreased
availability of oxygenated blood to peripheral tissues, and can be harmful or even fatal to patients.
When the malformations of the valve reach a critical point in which the patient s health will be
significantly affected by the lack of proper blood flow,
TAVR is an effective choice to combat stenosis. According to a study done by Samir
Kapadia, MD, TF TAVR (trans femoral transcatheter aortic valve replacement) exhibits a 95.7 percent
success rate. Thirty day mortality is limited to 0.4 percent, and stroke rate exhibited a 1.6 percent
incidence rate. Follow ups after one year showed a mortality rate and stroke rate of 17.5 percent and
3.5 percent, respectively.2 This data implies that while TAVR is effective, the procedure still has room
to improve. The Edwards SAPIEN
XT is a new artificial valve that aims to

The hacktivist group Anonymous has recently terrified many corporations and operations with its
ability to hack, publically humiliate and to release confidential information in the name of freedom of

It was dark and there were so many noises around me as I slowly woke up and recalled I was in a
hospital with abdominal pain. I then heard a familiar voice say Sweetie, wake up! Wake up! I opened
my eyes to a blurry image of my mother. Shhh... don t make any noises. We re leaving now. Just act
like you are fine. We ll try to sneak out before anyone notices , my mother said. She explained later
that she could not afford to pay hospital bills, so we had to leave before any physician checked over.
Living in Vietnam, I was filled with resentment towards their healthcare system, as people were
rejected treatment and left to perish in the streets. As a child, I therefore never considered medicine as
a career. My spark for medicine was unforeseen until I went on a high school field trip at INOVA

doctors performing coronary bypass surgery while witnessing the heart beat stronger and stronger. At

The Holocaust And The Survivors Of The Holocaust
Even five years after the Holocaust, there were still survivors with nowhere to go.19 Few survivors
attempted to return home, and most of those who did stayed only a short time. They learned it was
nearly impossible for them to be in places so closely linked to their childhoods.20
Everything in their cities, towns and villages would remind them of years of humiliation of
unthinkable atrocities, of tragedy and irreparable loss.21 Those few survivors that did decide to return
to their home towns did not have it easy. Many survivors lost almost everything; not just their families
and friends, but also their properties, businesses and belongings. Some survivors returning to their
homes found them to have new tenants in them refusing to move. Others found out that their
belongings like valuables or household items had been sold to fund the October 1943 rescue. By
September 1945, 1,300 survivors of the Holocaust still had no permanent homes.22 Many returning
survivors faced taunts and threats from people in their villages.23
There were also the physical aspects of attempting to return home. One Polish Jew named Dora
Rytman had survived the Holocaust and wanted to go home. It was very difficult for anyone to return
home because a lot of the tracks and roads were in pieces because of previous bombings. Because of
this, Dora had to take many different trains to try to get home. It was very difficult to reach her home
town because it was snowing, and not many trains were going that

War on Japan Essay
through history, man always seems to be at war. In some cases he is the attacker, in others the
defender. In both cases, these wars are broken down into two basic elements, the battles that are
fought and the individuals who fight them. The elements conflict, courage, fear, cowardice, heroism,
victory, and defeat make up the exploits of war we record in our history books. This paper will deal
with war, more specifically, a special exploit within one of the most significant wars ever experienced.
World War II involved millions of fighting men around the world. In Europe, Hitler and Germany
were the enemy. In the Far East, Japan was the enemy. To America, Japan was probably more hated

What if Army bombers could take off an aircraft carrier? Low tried his idea on Admiral King. King
thought the idea had potential so he sent it on to Captain Donald Duncan to turn his plan into fact.
This he did, and the Tokyo Raid became fact instead of fiction.
The first step in the plan was finding a leader. General Arnold requested Lieutenant Colonel James
Dolittle as the man to select the plane and the men for the mission. Dolittle accepted the challenge
without hesitation. Arnold let him know in no uncertain terms that he was to be a planner not a pilot.
As Doolittle went to work on the project, he saw a lot of problems. First of all, carrier landings were
impossible for twin engine bombers. Next, the total air trip was eleven hundred miles. The closest
landing area would be in Russia, but Joseph Stalin would not let them land there because he didn t
want to be invaded by Japan since he already had his hands full with the Germans. Fortunately, China
said it was all right to land there but they said it reluctantly. With these considerations and others,
Doolittle determined that the chances of the mission succeeding was fifty fifty. Despite the odds, the
decision was made to begin the project.
As the first step, despite Arnold, Doolittle wrote himself into the plan as a pathfinder. Doolittle s job
during the attack would be to light up Tokyo with incendiary

Functions Of The Progressive Era
The progressive era in the United States of America was a big change in the social reforms of the
country, largely lasting between the 1890 s to the 1920 s. It marked a huge change in the way that the
country operated when it came to the social constraints of the government, businesses, and the world
of industrialization. And most importantly it was a movement that sparked a change in America for the
betterment of everybody, a way to get rid of all the rotten ideals in the country s social machinations
and replace it with opportunity for everybody. In this essay I m going to point out the specifics of what
it meant to be progressive and how it changed everything.
The ideas and functions of the progressive era were to mainly to weed out the corrupt forces in the
government through things like the industrial industry and immigration. In the movement of the
progressive era, the biggest targets were painted on the backs of corrupt political organizations and
their respective higher ups. The primary goal was to take these organizations down in order further
develop a more straightforward democracy in the government. Another big mission of the progressive
movement was to trust bust corporations that were largely considered to be dirty, in order to bring
balance and make things fair in the world of businesses and entrepreneurship. And as a progressive
you were also very likely to support the banishment of alcoholic beverages, as well as supporting the
women s suffrage movement. So the basic all around theme of the progressive era was out with the old
and in with the new, pinpointing the weak and outdated spots in certain areas and upgrading them to
better fit with the current times. Progressives wanted to modify things like government, education,
finance and find plausible theories to scientific, engineering, and medical studies that could bring
solutions to certain problems in that area.
Originally the progressive movement started at a much smaller level, with many separate movements
happening in smaller areas, like a town or a city. Eventually the movement would get bigger and
bigger, going from a state wide level and eventually reaching a national level as one big movement
amongst the people. The leaders of this

Comparing The Crucible, And Les Miserables
Today, children are taught to forgive others and give second chances. But this was not always the case.
Historically, once someone had committed a crime they were thought of as dishonorable people and it
was made known to others that they had committed a sin. This is seen in many literary works
including The Scarlet Letter, The Crucible, and Les Miserables. Les Miserables, originally written by
Victor Hugo, exemplifies this prejudice. Throughout the story, the characters can not escape the
prejudice related to one mistake, or perceived mistake. In the movie version directed by Bille August,
Jean Valjean and Fantine are unable to receive forgiveness and move on with their lives. When Jean
Valjean is released from prison, he understands the bias he is going to face in the real world.

job. Needing money to support herself and Cosette, she resorts to prostitution. When attacked, Javert
arrests her and tells Valjean and Fantine that she is in the wrong. Javert believes that Fantine is always
going to be a prostitute and should be put in prison.
Throughout the movie Les Miserables directed by Bille August, Paris is shown as an unforgiving
society in the late 1700 s and early 1800 s. Once a person has done something wrong, they will never
be trustworthy citizens, or even a part of society. The cruel nature of society is on display by the
prejudice shown by Javert to both Fantine and Jean

The Emergency Department At Saint Vincent s Medical Center
Introduction Every day in the United States there are 136.3 million people that visit the emergency
department (CDC, 2015). To put this number into perspective that is 44.5 people per 100 persons
(CDC, 2015). 11.9% of these visits result in hospital admission leaving 88.1% of visits to be
discharged home with or without caregiver assistance or to another healthcare facility (CDC, 2015).
While high numbers of patients being discharged is desirable, it is important to consider that In one
out of every 30 discharges things get missed. [For example] patients [are] sent home who didn t know
how to use their insulin or they got the wrong prescription (Maguire, 2011). Another important
statistic to recognize is that Ninety million Americans have difficulty understanding their own medical
care (McCarthy et al., 2012). Similar adverse events and misunderstandings of medical care have been
occurring in the emergency department at Saint Vincent s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut a
60 bed emergency department with a fast track zone that is classified as a level one trauma center. The

Character Analysis Of The Film Big Hero 6
The film Big Hero 6, is about Hiro, a 14 year old boy who creates an incredible invention called
microbots to achieve his dream of enrolling into the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. The
microbots are tiny robots that are linked together through any way, shape, or form, through a
neurotransmitter. However, trouble strikes as someone steals them, but Hiro and Tadashi, his deceased
brother s medical assistant robot Baymax save the day along with the other multiracial four heroes
who were his Tadashi s friends at the institute as they capture the villain. Big Hero 6, in particular,
made me witness how Disney had began to endeavored taking a technological path, opposed to other
films intended for children. I believe that Big Hero 6 stands out from all the other movies intended for
kids, as from my analysis the movie made me see that it s characters were mostly all centered around
intellectual human beings. But Disney still used a well known cliche as they still put at least one
unintelligent character in the movie, mostly due to comedic purposes. However, in Big Hero 6, there
were some weaknesses that could ve made this movie even better. The first weakness, was that the
directors could ve added more insight/backstory on how the Hamada household came to be. I felt like
starting off with that to go along with the bot fighting scene would connect must smoother to the
movie. Giving the audience some insight/backstory to Big Hero 6, might specify maybe how their

Ethical Dilemma Of The Antibiotic

Ethical Dilemma Assignment

INTRODUCTION
This dilemma is for a 2 week old baby diagnosed with a gastrointestinal perforation two days after
birth, which was later corrected with a temporary ileostomy. It is not clear how long the baby will
have the stoma for, but it will be corrected with a reanastamosis eventually. The baby is going to
continue antibiotics after discharge per doctor recommendation.
Ethical Dilemma Statement
Should we suggest that the baby goes home on oral antibiotics after discharge?
The benefits of this would be that the delivery of the antibiotic is less invasive. It will also decrease
her risk for further infection. This could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can lead to more complications such as further infection or sepsis. IV antibiotic therapy may
result in phlebitis, extravasation injury, thrombosis, and bacteremia (NCBI, 2015). This is dangerous
for a newborn, especially since she is just getting over an infection from her bowel perforation.
The author heard about this pediatric ethical dilemma in this way: My clinical instructor allowed me
to attend the NICU. Upon arrival of this unit, I was paired off with a nurse who was taking care of two
neonates. I shadowed the nurse and assisted her with caring for the infants, and became aware of this
baby s condition and plan of care.
The people involved in this dilemma were the MD, the baby, her father, mother, and nurse.
The Provisions from the ANA code of Ethics that apply to this dilemma are these:
One Provision that applies is Provision # 1, state the provision: The nurse practices with compassion
and respect for the inherent dignity, worth, and unique attributes of every person.
Another Provision that applies is Provision # 3, state the provision: The nurse promotes, advocates for,
and protects the rights, health, and safety of the patient.
The above stated provisions apply in this way: (Discuss each provision and how it applies to the
ethical dilemma, use at least one professional journal article for support).

School Boards And School Board
At the local level a school district can be seen as a unicameral parliamentary system. School boards
create education policy and appoint a superintendent to execute those policies. Dissatisfaction Theory
of Democracy holds the greatest explanatory potential in school board turnover (Alsbury, 2003).
Applying this theory to school boards, the theory states changes in a community s values translates to
changes in community participation. This then leads to changes to school board members who share
this new value. And finally the school board changes its policy to reflect the new values (Alsbury,
2003). Superintendents serve at the pleasure of the school board. Stream (2013) has argued that

Also, principals usually score within the top 10% of teachers in their state teaching certification
exams. Entry level administration salaries rival the salaries of teachers with decades of experience
teaching, thus encouraging many young teachers to leave the classroom (Baker Punswick Belt, 2010).
Principals are more likely to leave positions at elementary or middle schools and pursue principalships
at large high schools. Where a principal receives their undergraduate degree has little effect on their
salaries, but selectivity of their master s degree program has a large effect on pay and school
demographics. Principals of schools with grater black student concentration are more likely to have
principals who attended less selective universities for their graduate degrees, and principals with
graduate degrees from more selective universities that focus on research are more likely to take
principalships in non black concentrated communities (Baker Punswick Belt, 2010). Superintendents
rise through the educational ranks, understanding what type of teachers undertake a principalship
helps us understand some of the self selection criteria superintendents possess. Superintendents
supersede principals and advance to administrative positions inside the school district, becoming
deputy superintendents and the like before attempting to become a superintendent themselves (Baker
Punswick Belt, 2010). Baker, Punswick, and Belt

The article written by Natalie Hess in the TESOL webpage named Understanding and Outreach in a

To often the teachers don t realize that language is just part of a greater culture. So they miss the point
that understanding the complete culture of the students they are teaching needs to be comprehended. I
would say, especially when dealing with ELL students who are very new in the USA. The teachers can
confuse the lack of interference is a lack of interest, when actually the Hispanic culture values
education a great deal and those who teach it. They see the teacher as the specialist and therefore
respect that teacher s decision almost explicitly. They also confuse what appears their lack of time for
their children s schooling as a lack of interest in the student s education. They work very long hours
and end up showing up at off hours due to their challenging work schedules. However, if they send an

Homework: Questions of budgeting
1. Discuss some of the major benefits to be gained from budgeting.
It motivates the executives to define the basic objectives of the company, it gives a structure to the
company by defining the responsibilities of each of the parts that forms the organization, it motivates
and rises the participation of all workers of the company, it obligates to maintain a control document
with historical data, it facilitates managers the use of resources, and it gives periodic evaluations and

Who are the participants in the budgeting process, and how do they participate?
First the management must choose a period of time for which the budget will be used; the most
convenient period is of one year. A period can also be of one month in which it is easier to compare
the real expenses against the planned expenses. A committee of budgeting formed by several members
of the organization executives watch the process of the preparation of the budgeting. This committee
sets the rules by which the budgeting must be done and coordinates the budgets that separately are
prepared by the different units in the organization, and solves conflicts that may arise to later present
the final budgeting plan to the general director and the consul. Instructions must be delivered by the
ordinary chain of command. Decisions over the budgeting must be done by the line of command, and
the final planning by the general director, while the staff can only give advises, but cannot decide. The
person who decides is the budgeting director. His main functions are to inform the mechanism of the
budgeting preparation through computers and telecommunications, to give the macroeconomics
information, make the necessary calculations, gather the numbers for the budget, and watch that each
part of the company gives their proposals on time. Once the period of time is established, the
committee must listen to the companies expectations and objectives. Then a manual that contains the

Research Paper: Henry Ford
Imagine how life would be if our society did not have cars. Today, our society is dependent on cars for
our daily routines. From transporting our food, clothes, and technology to just going to the store across
the street, cars are a very important part of our society. In the 19th century, only the wealthy and upper
middle class had access to automobiles, and they only used cars for fancy transportation and to show
off their money. This was due to the extreme prices of cars in the 19th century. With these high prices
not many people could afford them, especially not the working class. Henry Ford revolutionized the

He had his workers work less, with more breaks, and he also payed them almost twice as much as
other jobs. As Eric Foner states, Ford paid the assembly line workers $5 a day when prevailing wages
were about $2.50...he also reduced working hours to 8. With this, workers were more likely to work
harder and better, which led to more productivity. The productivity was not done alone, the
infrastructure of the assembly line is very critical to the production process. This was done by, as
Robert Sobel states, ...conveyor belts in the assembly line that brought parts to the workers to perform
their specific task. All this improved the production rate and it satisfied the workers. Many may say
the assembly line removed individuality, however it brought faster, better, and cheaper production to
the Ford Motor Company.
With the success of the assembly line, Ford was very please however he had a bigger goal set. Ford
wanted to produce cheap cars for the common people to use. Ford made many different types of cars
and experimented with each of them. They were all good but not good enough. After many different
models, Ford achieved his goal with his invention of the Ford Model T. The Model T was a fully
functional compact automobile with a good transmission and torque as well as comfort and size. Apart
from that, the most important aspect of the Model T was that is was extremely cheap. As Sobel states,

Theme Of Twelfth Sin The Jewel Box In Anger
In the story Du Tenth Sinks the Jewel Box in Anger, Du Tenth shows complete devotion to Master Li
Jia and by the end of the story, we see that the devotion she has for him is not reciprocated. One s
feelings may be stronger than the others, but couples choose to stay together. In some instances,
individuals may choose to stay in the relationship for convenience, rather than feelings. Regarding Du
Tenths situation, I feel that she continued her relationship for both reasons. Tenths feelings for Master
Li were very strong but in addition, it was more convenient for her to pursue a life with Li Jia, than
continue the life she was living. This trend is not only seen is stories, but it has also become the reality
of today s society.
For obvious reasons, Du Tenth pursued a relationship with Maser Li but the question is why did she
decide to stay with him after he lost all of his wealth? If we look at all the factors, Du Tenth had lots to
gain by officially being with Li Jia. Without Li Jia, she was just a courtesan. Master Li s parents did

Little nine year old girl, Patricia Trisha McFarland, went missing on June 7th, 1999. While walking on

her brother, Pete McFarland. On June 8th, 1999, my news report team sent me out to investigate the

When I got to the McFarland s house, I got to meet Trisha s family, which consists of her mom, Quilla
Anderson, brother, Pete McFarland, and her dad, Larry McFarland. I sat them down in front of me and
set up my tape recorder so I can record the whole conversation and take it back to the police station.
Once it was all set up I grabbed my notebook full of questions and started asking all of them questions

weighs 80 pounds, has natural bleach blonde hair. She has a mole on the left side of her face, pierced
ears that have little diamonds in them, a small scar on her forehead that she got when she was younger.

Robert Frost s Mending Wall

boundaries connecting individuals, correspondence, companionship and the suspicion that all is
well and good individuals pick up from obstructions. His messages are passed on utilizing
beautiful methods, for example, symbolism, structure and humor, uncovering a perplexing side
of the sonnet and in addition accomplishing a general cheerful impact. Robert Frost has
shrewdly entwined both a strict and allegorical significance into the lyric, utilizing the patching
of an unmistakable divider as a typical portrayal of the obstructions that different the neighbors

Since the fence is imperative
to the neighbor, he treats the matter of repairing it genuinely. Symbolism is utilized to depict
the neighbor s state of mind, showing a somewhat dismal, yet humorous portrayal of him
moving the stones and repairing the fence. The storyteller sees the willfulness in his neighbor,
and uses the likeness like an old stone savage to contrast the him with a stone age man who
moves in dimness (lines 40, 41), that is, set in his ways, and who is probably not going to

The form of the Mending Wall is a long one stanza sonnet. It is composed in clear verse

primary thoughts. The line something there is that doesn t love a divider has been rehashed in

the wall the narrator does not love the wall and needs it down while the something said
in the main line of the poem alludes to nature. Another case of redundancy is the
announcement great wall make great neighbors . This reflects back to and underscores

Purpose Of Epic Theatre
Epic theatre is always intended for the actors quite as much as for the spectators. The essential reason
why the didactic play falls into a category of its own is that, through the exceptional austerity of its
apparatus, it facilitates and encourages the interchangeability of actors and audience, audience and
actors. Every spectator can become one of the actors . (Walter Benjamin). What do you discern as the
didactic element of Mother Courage and Her Children and how does it relate to dramatic form/
theatrical techniques?
Is Theatre for Pleasure or Theatre for Instruction?
Epic theatre refers to a form of drama that attracts spectator s mind more than his feelings. The term
was developed and adopted by Bertolt Brecht in Germany in 1920 s. Epic theatre presents a narrative
which turns the observer into spectator. The main aim of epic theatre is to arouse the spectator s
capacity to take action by provoking rational self reflection. Brecht has followed the epic theatre
because he realised that the traditional theatre of his time is inadequate for his purposes. Epic theatre
serves the purpose of social function. Through its narrative, Brecht presents social, political and
economic problems. His main aim is to invoke the audience into analysing the play rather than getting
attached with the characters or the plot. This form was empolyed by Brecht in his play Mother
Courage and Her Children which was performed in 1941. The play consists of twelve scenes that

Flop Analysis
Isolating limpers out of position can be a tricky proposition. Unless we have a big pair, small isos are
typically not as attractive since we will be out of position throughout the hand, if called. A solution to
this problem is something I call the third go. You may remember me covering this in Automatic Poker,
Volume 1. The entire play was created to exploit players who limp a wide range and then often play fit
or fold on the flop. It is a great way to lure bad players into making hugely unprofitable pre flop calls.
The way it works is that when it is our turn to act in the blinds and there are one or more limpers, we
simply bet about one third of our stack with the intention of shoving all in on any flop. As covered in
detail in Professional No Limit Hold em, once you invest one third of your stack into any pot, it is
always a mistake to fold. It does not matter if it is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When fold equity is high, it is more profitable to third and go the stronger parts of your range and
shove the weaker ones. This concept applies to both shoving over limpers and to 3 betting, which will
be covered in chapter x. If you think about it, the idea makes perfect sense. In low fold equity
environments, when holding a weaker hand, you obviously want to elicit a fold more often, so giving
yourself two chances to win makes more sense. Weak players may call a similar range vs a shove that
they will vs a third and go, and if called after thirding, you can shove the flop profitably since your
opponent will miss more often than not and not be likely to call the shove. Take this example, played
versus a very loose player: Shoving our entire stack in with a strong hand versus our loose opponent

Shakespeare uses light references to present their passionate love towards each other such as o she

Traditional And Modern Medicine
Several treatment methods have been used by humans for cure diseases over the centuries. Two of the
treatment methods are traditional medicine and modern medicine. In fact, these two types of treatment
methods share the same objective from different approaches. Traditional medicine can be defined as
health practices based on the use of plants, plants extracts and animals. It is a theory with a non
scientific approach used to treat illness in the contrary of modern medicine which is a health practices
based on the use of pharmaceutical drugs. It is a scientific approach used to diagnose, prevent and

side effects and availability.
Traditional and modern medicine share the same curative objective which implies that they have
similarities from a general point of view. Both medicine is using plants extracts but in different
aspects. Though traditional medicine is based on the use of plants and herbs, modern medicine uses
many herbs and plant derivative based on biological and chemical aspect as well. Many common
drugs are derived from plant based sources directly or indirectly. Moreover, traditional and modern
medicine have both side effects. They could be harmful or ineffective for a human body if the dosage
is not well calculated, in this case we run the risk of over or under dose. Also, many side effects can

The Iranian Hostage Crisis was an event that took place in the capital of Iran in November of 1979
that lasted a long four hundred and forty four days. What led up to the breaking point in the Hostage

US involvement with Iran. During the crisis the US president Jimmy Carter had the military attempt

The leaders of both nations had a large impact on throughout the hostage crisis and even before the

to the hostage crisis than the United States president Jimmy Carter did. Khomeini wanted to show his

Carter later attempted a rescue which later failed and accomplished nothing for the US. On Iran s side
Khomeini was in full support of the hostages being held in Iran because he believed that it showed
part of the Iranian revolution. Ayatollah Khomeini also believed that was a put down to the American
impact on Iran and their government. These two goals between each leader show the different attitudes

Essential Operations Of Information Systems
The essential operations of information systems sustained by of critical infrastructure rely on the
explicit functionality of software applications supporting complex, interdependent, information
systems. The software application provides the virtual framework for information systems to operate
efficiently in a critical infrastructure. Information systems consistently communicate with
supplementary information systems positioned throughout the network to support the infrastructure s
essential operations. The dependence of software and information systems increases, as businesses
require additional systems to automate critical operations. However, the connectivity and complexities
of information systems supporting critical infrastructure increases the critical infrastructure s exposure
rate of software vulnerabilities to advanced persistent threats. Conventionally, software application
facilitates process involved in auditing, configuring and distributing commands to augment
interdependent information system performance.
The security and safety of the nation s critical infrastructure are significantly relying on measures

According to Ibn Nadīm s and Niẓām al Mulk s accounts, al Hallāj was the first dāʿī of Jibāl in present
day Iran (Ibn Nadim, 2002:352; Niẓām al Mulk, 1999:283 4). He might have been the first person
who could have assumed an official title of dāʿī, but, as the presented analyses have demonstrated, he
certainly was not the first person who was involved in the Ismaili daʿwa in Persia. Ghiyāth fled to
Khurasan around the end of the third/ninth and the beginning of the fourth/tenth centuries, when a
certain Sunni cleric, ʿAbd Allāh al Zaʿfarānī, incited public opinion against him (Niẓām al Mulk,
1999:284). Al Zaʿfarānī was the founder of the al Zaʿfarāniyya faction, one of the three schools of
Najjāriyya (al Barghawthiyya, Mustadrika, and al Zaʿfarāniyya), and a follower of Ḥusaīn ibn
Muḥammad al Najjār. He attacked Ghiyāth in order to create a bigger space and fame for himself.
Consequently, Ghiyāth migrated to Khurasan and settled in Marw al Rūd, in present day Bālā
Murghāb in north western Bādghīs province of Afghanistan, which is still populated with many
Hazara groups. Ghiyāth s major achievement was the conversion of Amīr al Ḥusaīn ibn ʿAlī al

One key component of evolution is natural selection. Natural selection is a theory, first presented by
Charles Darwin, that is well known across the globe. It is the reason why there is change of genetic
makeup in evolution. Natural selection is caused by the variation between generations, as well as the
survival of different individuals with different combinations of traits. The theory poses that organisms
with characteristics that increase their probability of survival will be given the chance to produce more
offspring. This means that the organism is more fit . These offsprings are then given the benefiting
characteristic. With time more variation throughout the species will develop. For an example of why
evolution is dependent on natural selection Berkeley College talks about a population of beetles.

How Does It Violate The Defendant s Due Process
FACTS: Two men Brady and Boblit were were found guilty of murder in the first degree. The two
men were sentenced to death. Both of the men received separate trials. After the trial Brady confessed
to planning and commission of the crime, but denied personally committing the murder. Brady s
attorney had requested access to the police statement, but one statement was not present to the court.
The statement of Boblit, that he confessed, personally committing the murder himself. The defense
requested an appeal and the court of Maryland agreed, and the trial of withholding of evidence
proceeded, the court ruled that this was a violation of due process, and remanded the case, and new
proceedings commenced.
ISSUE: The withholding of evidence in the favor of the defense, does it violate the defendant s due
process? Due to the limitations of the new proceedings, with only sentencing involved, did this only
violate the rights of due process to the defendant? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Practical Constraints
Practical Constraints Over sixty artworks are from the David Roberts Collection including some never
seen before works, such as work by Caroline Achaintre, Roy Lichtenstein (nude in the Woods, 1980, it
was noted to me whilst on the guided tour that this was a rare woodcut by the artist) and James
Rosenquist. There are also commissions by artists such as murals by Allison Katz, flower
arrangements and video pieces by Luiz Roque and also loans from the designers Claude and Francois
Xavier Lalanne. Funding came from the David Roberts Art Fund and they had a large collection of
works to choose from. They had to be careful about security for the more well known works. Some of
the pieces were particularly large or heavy, such as Emily Young s Archangel ... Show more content on

A key term used when describing the exhibition space is mise en scène . Mise en scène is an
expression used to describe the design aspects of a theatre or film production, which means visual
theme or perhaps more pertinently telling a story both in visually artful ways through storyboarding,
cinematography and stage design, and in poetically artful ways through direction. It is also commonly
used to refer to multiple single scenes within the film to represent the film. This is particularly the case
in this show as each room has a different look and feel like one would experience in a theatre; for
example the Main Stage has a very different look and feel that the Backstage area. The Main Stage is
particularly evocative of the shows aims and provides a centre point for the show especially the main
stage itself which has been constructed especially for this show and painted green. Emily Young s
Archangel I 2004 (see figure 1) made from Monteone onyx stone is situated on the edge of the stage
and can be seen straight away as one enters from the bar. This sculpture, which weighs one tonne , had
clearly exercised difficulties due to its weight and size. The polished stone resembles a woman s head
who appears to be singing on the stage. The polished stone is sensuous and smooth with a strong sense
of past and time. This is the antithesis of the blunt, cumbersome and

Pregnancy Discrimination Essay
Pregnancy Discrimination There are many issues to consider in pregnancy discrimination. The well
being of the child, the well being of the mother, employer/employee relations, as well as gender
issues. There are however several State and Federal laws that protect people against pregnancy
discrimination. Two of the Federal laws are the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and the Family and
Medical Leave Act. The Pregnancy Discrimination Act was an amendment to title VII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964. Under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978, it is illegal for an employer of
15 or more workers, to discriminate against a person because of pregnancy, childbirth, or pregnancy
related conditions. This means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
#61623; An employee must be provided the same level of medical benefits, disability insurance and
leave as are offered for other medical conditions or disabilities.
#61623; A male employee is entitled to health insurance coverage for his wife s pregnancy related
conditions if a female employee s husband has comprehensive health insurance coverage.
The other Federal law, the Family and Medical Leave Act gives added protection. The Family and
Medical Leave Act went into effect August 5 1993.
It states that:
#61623; If a doctor or health care provider says their patient is sick and unable to work during their
pregnancy, they may be able to get up to 12 weeks off without pay under this law.
#61623; Time off is also allowed for childbirth, adoption, and to care for a sick child or family
member.
#61623; If someone takes time off under this law, they have the right to the same job or a job with
equal pay and benefits when return to work.
The above two laws help prevent pregnancy discrimination, giving employees certain rights and
laying down basic rules for employers to follow. The question is then how effective are these laws?
And are they an aid or hindrance to business.
The laws seem to be effective, thousands of women a year who are pregnant or new mothers file
complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The Federal agency that

Both excerpts complement each other like the first one talks Christian missionary coming to akbars court and they to convey their message to akbar. Akbar learned different things about whereas the second excerpt talks about the aftermath of that event like how sheikhs and faqirs were against the idea of letting other religion to come to the court The both narratives gives us a lot of information about Akbar s religious policies. They are expressions that can be uttered by multiple speakers, and have a different meaning or implication each time it is spoken. For me to say I am Sarah Elshater has one meaning, for my older brother to say I am Sarah Elshater has a completely separate meaning and would likely cause concern within my family should he say such a thing. In The Problem of the Essential Indexical by John Perry, the notion of locating beliefs is mentioned as an essential part of indexicals, as indexicals allow the speaker s belief to be expressed. Or, he could be genuine with his declaration, where he actually believes he is Sarah Elshater, in which case we would take him to the hospital to have his brain checked out. When it comes to indexicals, content is key to deciphering context, and without content, it can become difficult to understand a person s intent. Failure of overcoming such lesions will cause chromosome duplication failure and may lead to mitotic catastrophe, complex chromosomal rearrangements, and tumorigenesis. Multiple mechanisms are developed by the cells to sense and respond to such type of lesions. In replication fork stalling, the cell senses the lesion with replication protein A as well as its downstream factors. At the same time, the Fanconi Anemia proteins facilitates the interstrand crosslinking lesions (see next section, 1.3.2). Particularly, FANCM, together with its binding partners MHFs and FAAP24, will facilitate the activation of ATR/CHK1 signaling pathway for further repair. After proper responses to the replication stresses, the stalled or collapsed replication forks will be restarted (Collis et al., 2008; Wang et al., 2013). Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), or Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), is a relatively new surgical procedure to combat aortic stenosis. When the aortic valve gets occluded from a congenital defect, or damage from calcium or scarring ,1 blood cannot flow through the valve efficiently. General Arnold requested Lieutenant Colonel James Dolittle as the man to select the plane and the men for the mission. Dolittle accepted the challenge without hesitation. Arnold let him know in no uncertain terms that he was to be a planner not a pilot. As Doolittle went to work on the project, he saw a lot of problems. • 17. Functions Of The Progressive Era The progressive era in the United States of America was a big change in the social reforms of the country, largely lasting between the 1890 s to the 1920 s. It marked a huge change in the way that the country operated when it came to the social constraints of the government, businesses, and the world of industrialization. And most importantly it was a movement that sparked a change in America for the betterment of everybody, a way to get rid of all the rotten ideals in the country s social machinations and replace it with opportunity for everybody. In this essay I m going to point out the specifics of what it meant to be progressive and how it changed everything. The ideas and functions of the progressive era were to mainly to weed out the corrupt forces in the government through things like the industrial industry and immigration. In the movement of the progressive era, the biggest targets were painted on the backs of corrupt political organizations and their respective higher ups. The primary goal was to take these organizations down in order further develop a more straightforward democracy in the government. Another big mission of the progressive movement was to trust bust corporations that were largely considered to be dirty, in order to bring balance and make things fair in the world of businesses and entrepreneurship. And as a progressive you were also very likely to support the banishment of alcoholic beverages, as well as supporting the women s suffrage movement. So the basic all around theme of the progressive era was out with the old and in with the new, pinpointing the weak and outdated spots in certain areas and upgrading them to better fit with the current times. Progressives wanted to modify things like government, education, finance and find plausible theories to scientific, engineering, and medical studies that could bring solutions to certain problems in that area. Originally the progressive movement started at a much smaller level, with many separate movements happening in smaller areas, like a town or a city. Eventually the movement would get bigger and bigger, going from a state wide level and eventually reaching a national level as one big movement amongst the people. The leaders of this ... School boards create education policy and appoint a superintendent to execute those policies. Today, our society is dependent on cars for our daily routines. In the 19th century, only the wealthy and upper middle class had access to automobiles, and they only used cars for fancy transportation and to show off their money. Unless we have a big pair, small isos are typically not as attractive since we will be out of position throughout the hand, if called. A solution to this problem is something I call the third go. You may remember me covering this in Automatic Poker, Volume 1. The entire play was created to exploit players who limp a wide range and then often play fit or fold on the flop. It is a great way to lure bad players into making hugely unprofitable pre flop calls. The way it works is that when it is our turn to act in the blinds and there are one or more limpers, we simply bet about one third of our stack with the intention of shoving all in on any flop. In low fold equity environments, when holding a weaker hand, you obviously want to elicit a fold more often, so giving yourself two chances to win makes more sense. Weak players may call a similar range vs a shove that they will vs a third and go, and if called after thirding, you can shove the flop profitably since your opponent will miss more often than not and not be likely to call the shove. Google. Google, n.d. Web. 11 Apr. 2015. Evolution is the reason there is change in the genetic makeup of a population, the reason organisms are linked by common ancestors, and evolution is still happening today because of the constant change in environment. This paper focuses on these subjects within evolution and will explore all areas of the process of evolution that creates diversity and unity in life. One key component of evolution is natural selection. Natural selection is a theory, first presented by Charles Darwin, that is well known across the globe. It is the reason why there is change of genetic makeup in evolution. Natural selection is caused by the variation between generations, as well as the survival of different individuals with different combinations of traits. The theory poses that organisms with characteristics that increase their probability of survival will be given the chance to produce more offspring. This means that the organism is more fit . These offsprings are then given the benefiting characteristic. With time more variation throughout the species will develop. For an example of why evolution is dependent on natural selection Berkeley College talks about a population of beetles. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
