Often times, throughout many of Alfred Hitchcock films, I find myself very intrigued to the
development of how the story unfolds. The difference between Vertigo (1958) and the other films
that we have watched, is that this film has more unanswered questions and a darker meaning.
Personally, I did not really like how the story of Vertigo was filmed. And of course this is just my
own opinion, which can be argued based on your own experience with the film. For instance,
throughout the majority of the film, all we see is John Scottie Ferguson (James Stewart), follow
Madeleine Elster (Kim Novak) all around the San Francisco area. For me this repetitive act of

camera shots, and movement. A perfect example where Hitchcock experimented with
cinematography of lighting within a scene was inside the Empire hotel. Hitchcock really played a
lot with the colors of the neon light coming into Judy Barton s (Kim Novak) hotel room. A more
specific scene of his intense use of lighting was when Scottie transforms Judy into Madeleine. In
fact, Alfred Hitchcock, really felt that the lighting was very important aspect that helped shape
the meaning of the scene. According to Vertigo s screenwriter, Samuel Taylor, he mentioned that
Hitchcock never really liked to see the story in a full view. Instead Hitchcock was more focused
on viewing each scene like a mosaic. In order to view the full story, he believed he had to first
complete each part of the mosaic. Hitchcock creates each scene as a form of artwork. As seen in
several scenes throughout Vertigo, we clearly see how he creates scenes by focusing on every
aspect of cinematography to tell a deeper sinister narrative through each characters. An exaggerated

It s fun to see it changing all the time, gives some intense scenes, the way that the runners traverse
through it is great to watch. The environment in which Thomas is thrown into at the start, the
camp if you will, looks amazing, especially on blu ray and you can tell that they ve been there a
while and have learned to live amongst each other. I ve mentioned which characters I like and
dislike, but the bond that they all have seems pretty legit and not forced onto the screen in front of
you.
Unfortunately the ending was pretty poor, I ve heard people mention this and I ll repeat it but,
they basically tell you to your face oh yeah, there will be a second film just so you know , they
couldn t have been more blatant about it! The last 15 minutes were boring for me , where this
movie is at it s best is the start, before the girl comes into it, and some scenes in the middle which

insufficient information on the prevalence and nature of policejuvenile encounters in the rural
areas of Mississippi, specifically, the Delta region. This lack of information means that policy
makers and academics are responding non empirically to matters of police juvenile rural
encounters. In lieu of using data on the region then, responses are likely crafted based on the urban
policing literature. Therefore, this study is to offer insights on factors that influence police
behavior when encountering juveniles in rural areas, specifically police use of authority and, or the
offer of support and assistance at the street level.

Abstract:
The purpose of this lab was to study the effect of varying the substrate concentration of Hydrogen
peroxide (H2O2) on the rate of peeled potato catalase enzyme activity, on the decomposition of
H2O2. This experiment was carried out by diluting the 6% H2O2 with distilled water to decrease
the concentration, and then placed in a test tube. A small piece of filler paper disc was coated with
the enzyme before it was submerged to the bottom of the substrate hydrogen peroxide solution. The
stop timer was started immediately when the filter paper disc touched the bottom and the timer was
stopped when the filter paper reached the surface. The results of the experiment showed a linear
correlation between concentration of the substrate and the rate of enzyme activity. Overall, as the
concentration of H2O2 was decreased, the rate of reaction had decreased.
Introduction:
This experiment was used to determine the effect of varying concentration of hydrogen peroxide on
