Bibliography Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Bibliography Essay" can present its own set of challenges. The
difficulty lies not only in the research and understanding required to discuss bibliography as a
concept but also in weaving a coherent narrative that effectively communicates the significance
of bibliographies in academic and scholarly contexts.
To start with, one must delve into the history and evolution of bibliographies, exploring their role
in documenting sources, acknowledging influences, and providing a comprehensive view of the
research process. This involves sifting through a plethora of information and selecting key points
that contribute to a well-rounded understanding of the subject.
The challenge intensifies when trying to strike a balance between academic rigor and readability.
A bibliography essay should not only showcase the author's grasp of the topic but also engage
the reader, making the often overlooked subject matter interesting and relevant. The task is to
avoid a dry recitation of facts and instead create a piece that is informative, thought-provoking,
and adds value to the reader's understanding.
Additionally, there's the intricacy of properly citing sources within the essay itself – a meta-
challenge that demands adherence to specific citation styles. Whether it's APA, MLA, Chicago,
or another format, meticulous attention to detail is necessary to ensure the accuracy and integrity
of the references presented.
Furthermore, crafting a compelling introduction and conclusion becomes crucial to tie the essay
together seamlessly. The introduction should captivate the reader's attention and outline the
purpose of the essay, while the conclusion must summarize key points and leave a lasting
impression.
In summary, writing an essay on the topic of "Bibliography Essay" involves navigating through
historical, academic, and stylistic challenges. It requires a meticulous approach to research, a
thoughtful presentation of ideas, and a keen eye for detail in citation styles. While it may be
demanding, the end result should be a well-crafted piece that not only informs but also inspires
appreciation for the often underestimated role of bibliographies.

PSAC Analysis
As the PSAC is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year I think we should look
back at many of the accomplishments. The PSAC has achieved many gains for its
members including safer working conditions, better wages, equal pay for work of
equal value, benefit coverage for same sex partners, and rights for disabled
workers. While priorities of the PSAC tend to shift according to the priority
concerns of the membership, and according to changes in the workplace and the
labor force they also tend to stay the same. The core roots of the PSAC and of labor
unions in general are that workers deserve a say in the conditions of their labour. In
my view, while although maybe not new to some, one element I have not heard much
of is the affordability of onsite quality childcare and flexible work arrangements in
the workplace. This element would be a relevant issue for the young in our
membership and help in securing their involvement.... Show more content on

While maybe not as affordable for people on day shift it is more easily obtainable
as the public sector caters to the Monday to Friday, weekends off day shift worker.
As for the variable shift worker who requires evening, midnights, and weekend
care the affordability and access to child care is almost unobtainable. As I live in a
city with a large amount of variable shift workers for example in the auto industry,
nursing and law enforcement and other cities like mine, the need for variable child
care is of great importance. Parents like mine search high and low for quality child
care often overburdening relatives and for some family is not even available. Because
of the requirement for alternative child care providers outside the 6:30 am to 6:30
pm hours of operation time frame, they are often are unable to work overtime or not
able to pursue or accept higher positions. And even less offer available child care on

Persuasive Essay On Winning Games
The thrill of winning a trophy for the first time is always memorable, however, it
brings up the question: Is receiving an award for participating just as exciting?
Participation awards are a topic highly debated among those of all ages, with none
agreeing on a single answer. Individuals who are under the impression that they are
essential believe they boost a childs confidence and self esteem. This may be true in
some cases, but these trophies could be doing more harm than good. Although in the
moment they may appear to be wholesome, they have a lasting effect on children as
they grow older. Many children put loads of effort into winning awards, which is
belittled by participation trophies that are not only unhelpful and unrewarding, but
don t teach them the important values learned by losing.
Of course, participation trophies take away from the true meaning of receiving an
award and enjoying the sport. Her daughter rarely showed up for her soccer team.
She had a terrible attitude, Dweck says. In spite of that, at the end she got a giant
trophy and would have been devastated had she not (Turner). Children who put no
effort into the sport or activity they have joined still receive an award for being a
part of it. This is extremely unfair to those who actually worked hard to make their
team successful because it rewards the kids who were barely even engaged in the
sport. We need look no further than the 2011 World Series for the value of earning

Harrison Bergeron Dystopian
Kurt Vonnegut s dystopian story, Harrison Bergeron , takes place in 2081. It is a
story about everyone being equal, nobody is smarter than anybody else, nobody is
better looking than anybody else, and and nobody is stronger or quicker than
anybody else. This is because everybody wears handicaps to make everyone equal to
each other. But basically, one boy named Harrison Bergerontakes matters into his
own hands and goes against the Society. The Society basically makes all these
people wear their handicaps all the time. One lesson the story suggests is that you
should never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in, like Harrison.

She shot them in front of everyone in the room. While this could actually be a
really good point because they did get shot and killed, it fails in one region of
thought to me and probably other people thinking like me also. I think that
Harrison Bergeron and the ballerina s act actually did pay off for them in my line
of thinking. I think that them standing up for what they believe in really did pay
off for them because even though they got shot, I think what really payed off for
them is that they instilled the thought of everyone being equal, and the
government (or Society) holding them to that, is kind of crazy and that the people
of his world should fight for what they believe in. So, Harrison Bergeron and the
ballerina actually stood up for what they believed in and taught people that they
too, should stand up for what they believe in, and that they, and anybody, can
really make a difference with just a couple of opinions and a couple of words
being spoke by the people of the country that you, and others live and dwell in. For
example, in the moment of the story when the ballerina rose, it wasn t because she
wanted to be Harrison Bergeron s wife, it was because she wanted to stand up for
what she believed in with him. The moment in the story is described as, I
A Semiotic Analysis of the Battle Fo Algiers
A Semiotic Analysis of The Battle of Algiers
The Battle of Algiers, which was produced in 1966 and directed by Gillo
Pontecorvo, is a film which explores the Algerian struggle for independence between
1954 and 1962. The film is constructed using a documentary style and was filmed on
the actual locations where events unfolded. The Battle of Algiers is an example of
neorealist filmmaking which purports to give an objective, realistic account of the
battles waged between the FLN (National Liberation Front) rebels and the French
military. The formal elements of style which create the narrative can be examined
using semiotic theory in order to better understand how the viewer can be

Mathieu is the most developed character in the film and this can be read as being
metaphoric of the French culture s supposed sophistication. The mise en scГЁne
when Mathieu is parading down a large street along the seafront after being
recruited to command the offensive against the FLN rebels is significant. Matheiu, a
tall, sturdy, middle aged man looks resplendent in full military uniform amidst
cheering French locals and is presented as the messiah like character. Tellingly
though, it is the dark sunglasses, rolled up sleeves and unbuttoned shirt which give
him an authentic and individual appearance; he appears to be a man of action and
experience. The viewer is immediately positioned to sense that Mathieu s arrival will
coincide with a significant change in events in Algiers. As the viewers expectations
are played out they are positioned to sympathise with Mathieu s point of view.
When Mathieu first arrives in Algiers, he sets about systematically dismantling the
resistance, however, he points out to his colleagues that not all of the Arabs are
terrorists and that most do not present a threat at all (Odeh, 2002). This is signified
by Mathieu saying:
There are four hundred thousand Arabs in Algeria; are they all enemies? We know
they are not. But a small minority hold sway by means of terror and violence
(Pontecorvo, 1966).

Stradivarius Violin Research Paper
The construction of the Stradivarius violin is very unique compared to the build of
other violins, whether they were made centuries ago or serve as modern day
instruments. While there are a number of other rare violins and instruments of
different kinds, not even one has ever came remarkably close to achieving what
Antonio Stradivari has with the making of his stringed instruments, in particular, his
violins. Over the years there have been many attempts to reproduce the authentic
sound quality of his instruments, but no one has ever been able to achieve this goal.

Stradivari was actually well in touch with the results of other impressive instruments
that had been constructed before his. He was able to gain experience by comparing
the many instruments built by the early Brescian and Cremonese makers by
deducing from them the aspects that made them unfavorable and applying these
aspects to his own creative works. Every generation has contributed something to
the construction of musical instruments, and Stradivari combined these centuries of
contributions to create something astounding that opened up a new chapter in
history. While it is a known fact that Stradivari got a lot of inspiration from
previous violinmakers (Visconti, who is a well known violinist, is said to have
given advice to this master of violin construction), people insist that he was a
natural born genius, so much so that he has been claimed to be a superhuman .
Based on scientific principles, many different works have been written based on the
unsurpassed tonal qualities found in his instruments. However, there has also been a
daily study of Stradivari s works that were compared to those of the craftsmen who
came before him. When put to the test it was found that the density of the bellies and
backs of Stradivari s instruments were made based on the principles of Gasparo, in
addition to the result of a gradual progression, which Maggini and Amatis had in
common with him. Those who have examined his work have noted that Stradivari
adjusted the thickness of his instruments, but there is no indication that he used any
principles as a guide other than what has been derived from the practices of his
forerunners. Stradivari left the backs and bellies of his instruments a little thinner (or
stouter), with their backs displaying a larger variation than their

Saint Catherine of Siena was born in Siena, Italy, March 25, 1347. She later
became part of the Third order of Saint Dominic, at first against her parents wishes.
She was named a Doctor of the Church in 1970. She obtained this title by writing
over four hundred letters to the current pope and various leaders, trying to restore the
Papacy to Rome and bring peace among the whole of Italy. Catherine also provided
for the poor and took care of the sick for endless hours. For most of her life, she
survived on the Holy Eucharist alone, being so repulsed by food that she could not
stomach it. Saint Catherine died on April 29, 1380, at age 33, akin to Jesus Christ.

Photography Books and the Photographers Who Created

This essay will try to be about photography books and the photographers who
created them. I will try to explain on their importance in history and why they are
so important to all photographers, as a whole idea and individually, as inspiration.
The Pencil of Nature was written by Henry Fox Talbot it was originally published in
six installments between 1844 and 1846. It included 24 calotype prints, each one was
pasted in by hand
These helped illustrate some of the possible applications for his new process. It
was the first photographic book with illustrations to be published for commercial
reasons . The Pencil of Nature was published and sold one section at a time,
without any binding. This seems to be a common practise for most books during
this time period. The purchasers had to pay a bookbinder to bind them once all the
installments had been released It was wholly executed by the new art of,Photogenic
Drawing, which was a contact printing process using salt. Talbot had planned a large
number of installments; however, the book was not a financial success and he was
forced to terminate the project after completing only six. This volume is regarded as
an important and influential work in the history of photography. It started what was
become a revolution of artist putting their work in book form, thus combining many
separate photographs into one cohesive idea. The Family Album of Lucybelle Crater

The average annual retention rate of our customers acquired online is about 55%
compared to a 65% retention rate for those acquired through branches. Online
customers have lower balances and end up paying higher fees. The net annual income
from online customers is therefore slightly higher than that of branch customers. The
acquisition cost and lifetime value are used to find the total amount of value that is
derived from a customer over the customer s complete lifetime with the business.
Cost acquisition is also known as the CAC. We will measure that lifetime simply as
the total revenue earned to date, and in this case our

All the way through the fundamentals building stage the way towards offering the

musical rhythm to be employed by the writer is alliteration, used to lay down the

behavior are illiterate and stupid, realizing their demise when it is too late. The title
of this poem has a major error, there is no verb. This hints that the speaker, or the

the author uses in this poem is a refrain. At the end of every line, except the last, is

As a result, an increasing number of vehicles have sound proof design and acoustic
surrounding systems. However, when those in car appliances operate simultaneously,
it can be difficult for drivers to detect the approach of emergency vehicles such as
ambulances, police, and fire fighting trucks. This is one of the reasons why most
accidents between emergency vehicles and motorists happen at intersections [1].
Those collisions impede the emergency service travels from reaching the destinations
on time. In the United States, it is claimed that the most frequent emergency service
cases were about emergency vehicle crashes and patient handing mishaps [2].
Even though the emergency vehicles have implemented visual device, the visual
warning mechanism cannot take effect if the receivers are not facing towards the
vehicle. Many collision incidents indicate that drivers did not recognize the coming
emergency vehicles with flashing lights and they delayed the reflection of clearing
roads in urban area [3]. It is not constrained to elderly or hearing impaired drivers.
Therefore, the audible warning siren is important to prevent collisions which are
caused by drivers not responding to the sign of warning from emergency travel.
Due to the improvement of in car sound control design mentioned above, the siren
can be difficult to penetrate into the cabin of a vehicle when the distance is greater
than 8 12 m [4]. Tests were conducted to improve the audibility
Irish Famine
The Irish famine of 1845 1852 killed 1.1 million people and over 1 million
emigrated, in 1841 the population of Ireland was 8.2 million but in 1951 it had
plummeted down to 6.5 million people. The famine caused mass starvation and
disease within Ireland, it started when fog that contained Phytophthora infestans
(Potatolate blight fungus) began to settle onto potato plants turning them black and
letting off a sickening odour. The potatoes under the ground looked edible but they
too rotted away. One month after the potato blight began in Irelandwind had carried
the potato blight spores all the way to London. When this happened the British Prime
Minister, Sir Robert Peel quickly founded a Scientific research team to investigate
the potato blight, the research team quickly identified it as wet rot . However the
people of Ireland formed their own ideas to why this happened, Catholics thought it

The At The North Texas Teen Book
Hi everyone! This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending The North Texas
Teen Book Festical in Irving, TX. It was so much fun, and honestly it was one of
the best weekends of my life. This post is just an overview of some pictures and the
things I did. Let s begin! (All the bloggers/booktubers I mention will be linked at the
end!)
Friday
Friday was educator s day, but they had an author luncheon that was open to the
public. The authors at the luncheon were Sarah Dessen, Ruta Sepetys, and E.
Lockhart. I met up with my friend, Avery, to go to the event. As we were sitting in
the lobby, we saw Marie Lu walk in and I started freaking out. I wanted to go and ask
for a picture, but I was too shy to go up to her. We went inside and sat at a table
close to the front (closest to the reserve author table).
As we were sitting there, I look in the corner and Ruta Sepetys (AKA ONE OF MY
FAVORITE AUTHORS) is standing in the corner. Avery and I went over to talk to
Ruta, and she was absolutely adorable. If you ever have the chance to meet Ruta,
please seize your opportunity because she s absolutely brilliant. Avery and I got a
picture with her.

We finally got the courage to take a picture with Marie Lu, so here s my picture with
Marie:

I was able to get my entire Legend trilogy signed by her the next day. I didn t get a
chance to talk to her during the signing because there wasn t enough time.

Manmohan Singh
In June of 1991, India was four weeks away from defaulting on its external balance
of payment obligations. India had $600 million in federal reserves, barely enough to
pay for three weeks of essential imports. It was during this time that the former Prime
Minister of India N. Rao elected Manmohan Singh as the Finance Minister. With the
coming of Manmohan Singhcame many economic reforms. These reforms helped
pull India from massive debt and near collapse. This leads many to the question,
How did the economic policies of Manmohan Singh help India emerge from the 1991
economic crisis?
Right before the Prime Minister Rao took office; the former Prime Minister had
sought out an emergency loan of $2.2 billion from the International Monetary ...

One such example of multinational and domestic competition was when Quest
started offering internet services, moving their call center to New Delhi as well.
Reliance Industries Limited, based in Mumbai, also offered, internet service, among
other things. Based in Mumbai, they had to be very exact on how to retain the
remaining customers that had flocked to Quest. By lowering prices and establishing
a strong consumer fan base, they were able to overtake Quest within India within ten
years. The opening of the economy led to a more freedom, helping to raise the self
image of Indian economy.
Manmohan Singh made another choice that helped push the entire economy out of
the ditch that it was trapped in. He made the choice to deregulate and privatize
underperforming businesses, helping to increase GDP, as well as relieve internal
government debt. Before the 1991 crisis, one could not own a business without
explicit permission form the government s financial department, or if you completed
a rigorous paperwork completion course called License Raj that took months, in
some cases a whole year to complete. When the crisis hit, India s debt stood at
68.05% of the GDP. To remove this debt, Manmohan Singh removed the License Raj,
replacing it with more simplistic paperwork to obtain a business license. This

History Of Canada During The Conquest Of The Desert
Two course themes which the Conquest of the Desert connects to are legacy of
colonialism, as well as assimilation. The Conquest of the Desert occurred in
Argentina in Patagonia from 1789 to 1790 with the aim to establish dominance over
Indigenous groups in the area, as well as to convert the Indigenous populations.
Throughout this time, thousands of Indigenous peoples were killed and displaced by
the Argentine settlers, (Bustos Videla, 1964). The Conquest of the Desert is a clear
example of colonialism, which is the process in which a group of settlers establish a
settlement in another country, which affects those who were Indigenous to the land,
(Morgan, The Legacy of Colonialism, 2017). Often this will often involve the
extrication of Indigenous peoples from their lands, their history, their identity and
their rights, (Morgan, The Legacy of Colonialism, 2017). This event in Argentine
history also an example of religious assimilation, as one of the main... Show more

Throughout my time in the country, my interest in the history of the people who live
there grew. Additionally, during my time in Argentina, often, myself and the other
volunteers were asked to reflect on different aspects of our countries. Usually while
discussing Canada, the topic of the treatment of Indigenous peoples within Canada
came up, especially when discussing some of the contemporary issues in Canada. As
a result, my interest in the Indigenous people living in Argentina, as well as the
history of the Indigenous people enhanced. Throughout my time there, I often asked
locals about the treatment of Indigenous peoples but few people knew a lot about
the Indigenous population, apart from where the majority of them lived. I have
decided to do my research essay on the Conquest of the Desert because it is an
important example of how Indigenous peoples in Argentina were
The Epic Of The Ramayana
The Ramayana The story Ramayan is the oldest version, is the basis of all the
various versions of the Ramayana that are related to the many cultures. The current

The Taino Indians, The African and The Spanish
The Puerto Rican culture has three historical roots; the Taino Indian, the African and
the Spanish. The Africans became the most important for economic and social
reasons. As part of the Spanish conquest most of all the Taino Indians were
exterminated. Both the Tainos and Africans were trapped in the most oppressed
stratum of the social pyramid, this allowed for cultural exchange between the two

with both the Tainos and Africans. Gonzalez claims that, when the descendants of the

Delacroix s painting The Death of Sardanapalus is a great example of romanticism.

Comparing Apple Vs Apple
The smartphone industry is a very up and coming place. In the US, more than 77%
of adults own a smartphone (Smith). There are many different kinds of smartphones.
They can vary in shape, size, color, and brand. Two of the largest brands of
smartphone are Samsung and Apple. They make two of the hottest phones on the
market right now. Just recently Samsung made the Galaxy S8, and Apple came out
with the iPhone8. Both phones are reported to be top of the line. Both being high
end devices have many similarities, but they also have differences that set them far
apart from each other. Let s start off with one big difference between these two
phones, the camera. We re again treated to a solitary 12 megapixel f/1.8 rear
snapper... The Galaxy S8 comes with a 12 megapixel Dual Pixelrear camera
(Spendelow). The difference between the cameras here is that the Galaxy has a
dual camera, whereas the iPhone does not. The iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X do
have the dual camera if you re willing to spend the extra money. These two phones
also have different camera resolution. The Galaxy s camera resolution is 2960 x
1440 pixels, and the iPhones is 1334 x 750 pixels (Bushnell). Between the two
phones camera resolution, the Galaxy has the iPhone beat. The Samsung s front
facing camera is also a little bit better than the iPhone s. The iPhone s camera is 7
megapixels whereas the Samsungs is 8 megapixels (Kidman). However, the
iPhone has reportedly been seen with warmer colors, helping with the contrast of
pictures. Overall, the Samsung s dual rear camera and 8 megapixels front facing
camera has the iPhone beat. Another big difference between the two phones is the
hardware and internal specs. One main difference between these two phones is the
two kinds of operating systems they use. Samsung uses Android 7.1.1, and the
iPhone uses iOS 11. Two separate systems tailored to the devices needs. They both
are top of the line operating systems and are the most up to date systems you can
use (Kidman). Both operating systems are fine tuned to the use of the consumer
and are both extremely customizable. The iPhone Has a 2GB RAM and uses the A11
Bionic processor, and the Galaxy has a 4GB RAM and uses the octa core Exynos

Key Elements That Make Up A Training Needs Assessment
A training needs assessment is a very critical component to running a business in
today s global economy. The key elements that make up a training needs
assessment are organizational analysis, task analysis, and person analysis. Every
one of these components are vital and help create a strong business system to help
ensure growth and prosperity for a company. For organizational analysis,
according to (Snell, 2016) an organizational analysis is an examination of the
environment, strategies, and resources the firm faces so as to determine what
training it should emphasize (p. 7.2a). All these elements have to be taken into
consideration when making business decisions and strategic planning. For task
analysis, job description and job requirements has to be identified. In order to
properly fill a job with the correct individual, or individuals, the job or task to be
done needs to be clearly identified. Are special skills or abilities needed to perform
the task? Is special training or certificates needed for the personnel doing the task?
These are just a couple of the questions that need to be answered in order to complete
a thorough task analysis. The third component in a training needs assessment is the
person analysis. Since company s run on budgets, controlling the costs when it comes
to training is very important. To avoid spending money on employees that should not
receive additional, or special training, the company must identify the

Henry David Thoreau As A Transcendentalist
Henry David Thoreau is remembered for his naturalist writings and is considered a
leading transcendentalist. He was born in Concord, Massachusetts and began
writing nature poetry in 1840. Thoreau would later spend 2 years, 2 months, and 2
days living on Walden Pond in search of a simpler life, where he would gain
understanding and a great appreciation for the world around him and write about
his experiences. The writings of Thoreau can easily be compared to many of the
other authors that we have studied over this course, for example: the works of
Drayton, William Bradford, the biography of Olaudah Equiano, James Fenimore
Cooper, Edgar Allen Poe, and even in the film The New World by Terence Malick.
We begin the comparison of Thoreau with Drayton s To the Virginian Voyage when
he writes, Where nature hath in store Fowle, Venison, and Fish, And the fruitfull st

new land. He goes on to express his feelings of gratitude for the new world that he
is seeing for the first time and his exuberance of joy and appreciation of its beauty.
When he continues with, When as the Lushious smell Of that delicious Land, Above

Wordsworth And Constable Essay
Representations of Time: Wordsworth and Constable
I do not know how without being culpably particular I can give my Reader a more
exact notion of the style in which I wished these poems to be written, than by
informing him that I have at all times endeavored to look steadily at my subject;
consequently, I hope that there is in these Poems little falsehood of description,
and my ideas are expressed in language fitted to their respective importance.
Something I must have gained by this practice, as it is friendly to one property of
all good poetry, namely, good sense; but it has necessarily cut me off from a large
portion of phrases and figures of speech which from father to son have long been

While the men had no significant personal relationship, they were certainly aware of
each other s work. In fact, Constable thought very highly of Wordsworth s poetry. As
to whether that sentiment was reciprocated... It is known that Wordsworth attended
at least one of Constable s lectures on landscape painting in 1836, however, there are
no recorded comments by Wordsworth regarding Constable until after the painter s
death in 1837. You ll notice in the comments under the copy of The Cornfieldthat I
ve passed around that Wordsworth was a subscriber to the fund that bought the
painting for the National Gallery. He contributed one guinea. Other than this, there
is little record of Wordsworth s feelings towards Constable and his art. The records
that we do have reflect both admiration and disdain: Wordsworth called Constable
both an admiral artist and a genius, but also commented (via Joseph Farington) on an
1807 Royal Academy exhibition of Constable s art that it was a poor exhibition.
The Cornfield (remote)
On the other hand, Constable valued Wordsworth s poetry, calling the descriptions of
landscape in The Excursion beautiful. In the 1830s he twice connected Wordsworth s
poetry to his own pictures, and in 1835 he wrote a sonnet that

planning has been made more transparent through the participation of stakeholders. In
the early phase of Planning, the participation has made it possible to strengthen the
trust between stakeholders, and allows sound consensus in disagreement. It has also

Panigrahi and Amirapu in 2012 conducted research on An assessment of EIA system
in India . According to the authors there is well developed regulatory EIA system
established in India but coordination is vital for an effective EIA system. Interviews
with the officials and consultants showed that there is weak coordination among the
decision makers, SPCBs, consultants, proponents and other agencies/line
departments. Proponents and consultants do not consult concerned departments and
agencies during preparation of EIA reports to identify issues. The authors carried
out the assessment of the EIA process and identified the following weakness in the
system. There are comprehensive guidelines, legal and legislative provisions but
administrative setup is very weak. EIA is just a formality as most of the time EIA is
conducted after start of construction. Coordination among the consultants and
planners are very weak. Involvement of stakeholders into ToR process during
scoping is inadequate which results in a thin coverage of socio economic and
environmental issues in the EIA reports. The quality of EIA reports are very poor
and not up to the mark. The reason identified is the lack of experts and professionals.
There are many weaknesses identified in the reports such as it hardly discusses the
limitations and assumptions carried out by consultants.
Holden Caulfield Selfish
What really knocks me out is a book that, when you re all done reading it, you wish

Catcher in the Rye . However, what makes this quote so interesting in this novel is
that, for many people over the past 60 years, J.D. Salinger is that author to them
when they read his novel. To everyone who has read the book; the main character,
Holden Caulfield, is a character we can relate to on a spiritual level. Anyone can
understand Holden s thoughts and actions because the character talks directly to the
reader. Unlike some other stories, when reading The Catcher in the Rye , the reader
doesn t feel like a third party, but rather more of a close friend accompanying the

The unrealistic C.A.F.E. standard of 2025 is not beneficial and ignores more
realistic, alternative solutions. In 2012, President Obama signed into law a drastic
Corporate Average Fuel Economy (C.A.F.E.) standard whereas all new passenger
cars and trucks must increase fuel economy to 54.5 miles per gallon (MPG) by
2025. This new law touts that it will save American consumers more than $8,000 in
gas over the life of the vehicle, reduce oil consumption by 2 million barrels of oil
per day, and cut harmful greenhouse gases by 6 billion metric tons over the life of

Attitudes Consumer Behavior
Consumer Behavior Assignment 1|
Attitudes
As consumers, each of us has a vast number of attitudes toward products, services,
advertisements, direct mail, the Internet, and retail stores. Whenever we are asked
whether we like or dislike a product, a service, a particular retailer, a specific direct
marketer, or an advertising theme, we are being asked to express our attitudes.
Within the context of consumer behavior, an appreciation of prevailing attitudes has
considerable strategic merit. For instance, there has been very rapid growth in the
sales of natural ingredient bath, body, and cosmetic products throughout the world.
This trend seem linked to the currently popular attitude that things natural are good

A consumer s emotions or feelings about a particular product or brand constitute the
affective component of an attitude. These emotions and feelings are frequently
treated by consumer researchers as primarily evaluative in nature; that is, they
capture an individual s direct or global assessment of the attitude object. Affect laden
experiences also manifest themselves as emotionally charged states (eg happiness,
sadness, shame, disgust, anger, distress, guilt, or surprise). Research indicated that
such emotional states may enhance or amplify positive or negative experiences and
that later recollections of such experiences may impact what comes to mind and how
the individual acts. For instance a person visiting a shopping center is likely to be
influenced by his or her emotional state at the time. If the shopper is feeling
particularly joyous at the moment a positive response to the shopping center may be
amplified. The emotionally enhanced response to the shopping center may lead the
shopper to recall with great pleasure the time spent at the shopping center. It

police killed 69 unarmed people due to a protest in Sharpeville against the racist
laws directed to the black Africans. This protest led to the banning of both the ANC
and the PAC which led to the movement losing much of it militant support. Mandela

Mandela quoted There are many people who feel that it is useless and futile for us to
continue talking peace and non violence suggesting that non violent protesting will
not attract the government s attention. Mandela undergoes military training in secret
in January 1962 and to raise funds for a possible armed fight. His returned to South
Africa in July 1962 led to his five years of imprisonment with hard labour for
illegally leaving the country. Due to Mandela s involvement in radical, violent
attacks, Mandela and seven other members were sentence to life imprisonment to
Robben Island, narrowly avoiding capital punishment at the Rivonia trail. During
the trials, Mandela quoted in his Rivonia trial speech I have cherished the ideal of
a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and
with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But
if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die. This displays the motives of
Mandela into changing the South African society to be equal for
Building a Foundation and Growing As Readers Essay
I personally feel the interactive model would be the best choice for myself. In the
top down model, which I would use frequently, is the concept about reading for
meaning. Comprehension is important; I feel if a student needs to skip a word or
two that they don t know it would be allowed, as long as they can grasp the meaning
of the text. I also love that readingand writingare primarily the mode for instruction.
This is useful, and helpful when teaching kids. It allows for repetition and practice
of reading and writing. However, in some cases especially students who are below
average in their reading skills some strategies need to be provided and mastered
before comprehension can occur. Students need to have prior background knowledge

2.Emergent Literacy is basically the concept that literacy is a process that starts from
birth. Children are constantly growing as readers and writers. What happens in the
classroom influences children s emerging literacy skills and motivations for reading.
Some major questions we need to be aware of with emerging literacy are; what do
students know about print? What reading behaviors or interests do the children have?
What do they still need to learn?
Reading readiness is when children benefit from instructional experiences before
engaging in reading. In the old reading readiness notion most believed that learning
could not take place until maturation happened around 6.5 years old. This is not true
today. Children benefit from instructional reading experiences at the infant level.
I would use both of these models in my classroom I believe that it is important that
reading readiness be incorporated because students have to be engaged in
instructional experiences that the teacher gives in order to become a good reader.
Students are constantly developing and as readers however you have to make sure
the text you are reading is at the appropriate level for students. Some students may
be very gifted and need to be challenged while others may be below the reading level,
or can t read at all. It is up to me as a teacher to find out
How Does Elie Wiesel Change In The Book Night
Imagine that your life is changed within a few seconds, and you don t know it yet.
This is what happens to Elie Wiesel in the book Night. In the book Between Shades
of Gray, Ruta Sepetys writes about Lina and her family that goes through a similar
situation as Elie Wiesel. Though they were both put through terrible conditions, Lina
and Elie survived the traumatic, sad, and harsh conditions. In Night Elie Wieselwas
living in Sighet and was taken by the Nazis because he was Jewish. They took him
and his family to a death camp where boys and girls were split up. From then he and
his father never saw his sister and mother again. Elie and his father went through
terrible things that nobody should ve ever experienced. Elie almost gave up plenty
Egyptian Revolution of 1919
The Egyptian Revolution of 1919 was a countrywide non violent revolution against
the British occupation of Egypt. It was carried out by Egyptians from different
walks of life in the wake of the British ordered exile of revolutionary leader Saad
Zaghlul and other members of the Wafd Party in 1919. The event led to Egyptian
independence in 1922 and the implementation of a new constitution in 1923
The event is considered to be one of the earliest successful implementations of non
violent civil disobedience in the world and has been followed immediately by similar
actions in the Indian independence movement led by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
The 1919 revolution in Egypt consisted of months of civil disobedience against the

This was the result of Egypt s increasing involvement in the war, despite Britain s
promise to shoulder the entire burden of the war. During the war, the British poured
masses of foreign troops into Egypt, conscripted over one and a half million Egyptians
into the Labour Corps, and requisitioned buildings, crops, and animals for the use of
the army.[2] In addition, because of allied promises during the war (such as
President Wilson s Fourteen Points), Egyptian political classes prepared for self
government. By war s end the Egyptian people demanded their independence.[3]
Events
Shortly after the First World War armistice of November 11 was concluded in
Europe, a delegation of Egyptian nationalist activists led by Saad Zaghlul made a
request to High Commissioner Reginald Wingate to end the British Protectorate in
Egypt and Sudan, and gain Egyptian representation at the next peace conference in
Paris. The delegation also included Ali Sha rawi Pasha, Abd al Aziz Fahmi Bay,
Muhammad Ali Bay, Abd al Latif al Makabati Bay, Muhammad Mahmud Pasha,
Sinut Hanna Bay, Hamd Pasha al Basil, Gurg Khayyat Bay, Mahmud Abu al Nasr
Bay, Mustafa al Nahhas Bay and Dr. Hafiz Afifi Bay.[4] Meanwhile, a mass
movement for the full independence of Egypt and Sudan was being organized at a
grassroots level, using the tactics of civil disobedience. By then, Zaghlul and the
Wafd Party enjoyed massive support among the Egyptian people.[5] Wafdist
California Irrigation System Analysis
Water drainer
With an everlasting reputation of droughts, California has caused their citizens to
struggle through their droughts in exchange of money. Peaking at 34 billion dollars
in revenue in 2013, California means business when it comes to agriculture.
California is in fact the largest agricultural producing state in meaning a large amount
of water from the state is going towards irrigation systems. As a result, the amount of
land and water used has a huge impact towards the state of California physically. If
California s agriculture business continues as it is now, the little amount of ground
water they have will cease sooner than it should naturally. By creating a new
irrigation system for farmers, the state can have more water to use for citizens and
allow their aquifers to rest.
Irrigation systems account for 70% of water usage in the world. By creating a new
irrigation system for agriculture, the system will be focusing on using as little water
necessary per plant. Farming uses a large amount of unnecessary water per plant as
their current system lacks efficiency. The typical irrigation system, flood irrigation, is
one of the most common irrigation systems used despite being one of the oldest. The
problem with this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Out of all the irrigation systems California uses for agriculture, 13 percent of them
is drip irrigation. What stops farmers from changing their systems is the low cost
of water itself. With the prices being low agriculture companies are not pressured
whatsoever to help reduce the water usage in California. While increasing the price
of water seems like the actual solution, doing so would depend on those who have
better practices on the competitive market drive. Those who are originally well off
will continue to survive and those that are not will be
Gender Conformity And Gender
Throughout generations, both genders contain specific expectations and
qualifications on how to be an official male or female. Nowadays, there are many
advertisements, commercials, and music videos that display gender conformity
just to make a profit. Gender conformity would be defined as a set standard for
both males and females on how they should appear and behave like. This is a
negative thing because many people believe that they have to fit a certain role to be
accepted by society. For example, in modern society it is very common for women
to be attracted to a man that is taller than them, good looking, and manly. In
comparison, for men, we tend to be attracted to a woman with lady like manners, big
breasts, and a firm behind. These advertisements, commercials, and music videos that
display genderconformity are what brainwashes the children of younger generations
into believing that a maleor femaleshould look and act a certain way. This
advertisement reflects sex in their ad which is pornographic because it
dehumanizes people of both genders; and gender conformity is occurring here
because it portrays men as a sex object. In today s society, sexual visualization in
commercials, advertisements, and music videos have been a trending issue for
quite some time now. This Calvin Klein advertisement shows Justin Bieber laying
down on the floor with no shirt on and wearing a pair of jeans with Lara Stone on top
of him partially wearing a jacket and a pair of jeans as
Alcohol Consumption In Australia
Alcohol consumption among Australians is common and mostly occurs in social
situations, and as a result of peer pressure, but it can also be associated with religious
and cultural participation.1 Alcohol consumption is mostly used for relaxation, mood
alteration, intoxication, addiction, boredom, habit, or to overcome inhibitions, and as
an escape or to forget sorrows.2 Groups most at risk of abuse are those with low
socioeconomic status, in rural and remote locations, Indigenous peoples, certain
sexual orientations, mental illness, and young people.3

the social norms associated with drinking at social events. When the message comes

community led health promotion that involves youth participation are a feeling of
connectedness, a positive peer group, positive self worth, and an awareness of
alcohol related harm.

A Comparison Of Madam Defarge And Sydney Carton
In Charles Dickenson A Tale of Two Cites there were plenty of characters that I
could have chosen from but two that stood out to me the most were Madam
Defarge and Sydney Carton. They stood out to me because although they are
equally strong characters who they were revealed to be was shocking. As a reader
we meet Madam Defarge in her wine shop. I got the feeling that she was a very
flashy woman because wore fur coverings and big gold hoop earrings. She didn t
say much but the air around her must have been tense. She would often cough to
get her husband s attention when a visitor would enter the shop. Madam Defarge
would be seen knitting away while her husband would conduct business. She may
have seem busy knitting but she was always listening to what was going on. Her
knitting is a register of people that need to be killed, this important because the
Defarges are a part of the resistance. During the early parts of the story I thought of
Madam Defarge as her husband s helper but I was surprised to learn that she was
ruthless and the person in charge. There was a point when Monsieur Defarge was
looking down and out and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People were poor, hungry, and abused by the government. Madam Defarge hated
the government for the same reason only she had been personally affected by
Evremonde. Her sister was raped and killed; she spent her life bent on revenge for
her family. When Marquis Evremonde was killed she didn t stop she proved that
she would do anything to eradicate the Evremonde blood line But, the Evremonde
people are to be exterminated, and the wife and child must follow the husband and
father (Dickens 693).She wasn t alone in this; he minions Jacques Three and
Vengence were just as bad. Jacques fantasized about killing little Lucy, The child

The Concept of Neoliberalism
Neoliberalism Neoliberalism is a concept which states that both politics and
economics need to be reevaluated to respond to the sociology and the psychology
of the people that are affected. This type of social structure demands that the
economic system must become less strict, and advocates more free trade and open
markets. According to Paul Treanor, Neoliberalism is a philosophy in which the
existence and operation of a market are valued in themselves, separately from any
previous relationship with the production of goods and services (Fish). One of the
most important components of neoliberalism is the removal of big government from
the business world and the allowance of state owned enterprises to be controlled by
private citizens. Neoliberalism was a term coined by Alexander Rustow who defined
it as the priority of the price mechanism, the free enterprise, the system of competition
and a strong and impartial state (Mirowski 13). The basic thesis behind neoliberalism
is that the government needs to evacuate their position as dominator of enterprise.
Businesses should be controlled by the people and the government s function in
industry only to protect the individual participants. Chris Harman writes: This
ideology contended that free market economies will run smoothly, steadily producing
more wealth. Any problems that arise are supposedly a result of unnatural
monopolies (especially in the labour market), which prevent the free movement of
prices and wages pulling
Sharecropping In Post-Bellum South
In the post Bellum South, the Economic situation, that followed emancipation and
the loss of Labor, forced the South to find a suitable replacement for slavery. This
also meant enacting laws designed to keep former slaves tied to the land. The
economic system which replaced slavery was sharecropping. But to keep the
former slaves tied to the land laws, such as the black codes which ensured a steady
streamer of workers to harvest the crops, and vagrancy laws which were designed to
punish vagrants by making them harvest crop for a plantation owner, were passed.
In the following pages this paper will summarize three primary sources, Working on
Shares, The Black Codes of Mississippi, and Post Bellum Southern Rental Contracts.

Thus, the Black Codes were created to keep former Slaves tied to the land so that the
crop could be harvested. A look at section four of the Black Codes of Mississippi is
an example of a law that aimed to keep former African Americanslaves tied to the
land so that the crop could be harvested. In section four it says that, if the worker
left the Master without his or her approval that they the master had the right to not
only go after the worker but to capture the worker. The master then would bring him
before the courts who then remand the worker back into the employment of the
master. however, if the worker refuses to go back to work for the master then
worker is place in jail. And if it is found that the worker left the master without good
cause to then order him to be punished. But if the court finds that the worker had
good cause to leave the master then the judgment shall be against the master and then
the worker is let go of his employment from the

In Social Media Marketing Strategies, How a business competitors lay out their
social media profiles is also important when it comes to analyzing their social
media strategies. A social media profile is part of a business brand and it is usually
preferable that a business present the same image of its brand across its social
media channels, but at the same time it could choose to present different aspects of
its image on each social media network. The reasoning behind this had to do with the
buyer persona(s) that business is trying to reach, as different individuals will respond
to different things (Social Media Marketing Strategies, Course Three, Page 19).
Another important aspect to consider when businesses are setting up their social
media account is the about us or the bio portion. They want to make sure that the
information is well written and accurate because this could be the first impression for
a potential customer and you want to make it count or you could lose their

  • 1. Bibliography Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "Bibliography Essay" can present its own set of challenges. The difficulty lies not only in the research and understanding required to discuss bibliography as a concept but also in weaving a coherent narrative that effectively communicates the significance of bibliographies in academic and scholarly contexts. To start with, one must delve into the history and evolution of bibliographies, exploring their role in documenting sources, acknowledging influences, and providing a comprehensive view of the research process. This involves sifting through a plethora of information and selecting key points that contribute to a well-rounded understanding of the subject. The challenge intensifies when trying to strike a balance between academic rigor and readability. A bibliography essay should not only showcase the author's grasp of the topic but also engage the reader, making the often overlooked subject matter interesting and relevant. The task is to avoid a dry recitation of facts and instead create a piece that is informative, thought-provoking, and adds value to the reader's understanding. Additionally, there's the intricacy of properly citing sources within the essay itself – a meta- challenge that demands adherence to specific citation styles. Whether it's APA, MLA, Chicago, or another format, meticulous attention to detail is necessary to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the references presented. Furthermore, crafting a compelling introduction and conclusion becomes crucial to tie the essay together seamlessly. The introduction should captivate the reader's attention and outline the purpose of the essay, while the conclusion must summarize key points and leave a lasting impression. In summary, writing an essay on the topic of "Bibliography Essay" involves navigating through historical, academic, and stylistic challenges. It requires a meticulous approach to research, a thoughtful presentation of ideas, and a keen eye for detail in citation styles. While it may be demanding, the end result should be a well-crafted piece that not only informs but also inspires appreciation for the often underestimated role of bibliographies. • 2. PSAC Analysis As the PSAC is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year I think we should look back at many of the accomplishments. The PSAC has achieved many gains for its members including safer working conditions, better wages, equal pay for work of equal value, benefit coverage for same sex partners, and rights for disabled workers. While priorities of the PSAC tend to shift according to the priority concerns of the membership, and according to changes in the workplace and the labor force they also tend to stay the same. The core roots of the PSAC and of labor unions in general are that workers deserve a say in the conditions of their labour. In my view, while although maybe not new to some, one element I have not heard much of is the affordability of onsite quality childcare and flexible work arrangements in the workplace. This element would be a relevant issue for the young in our membership and help in securing their involvement.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While maybe not as affordable for people on day shift it is more easily obtainable as the public sector caters to the Monday to Friday, weekends off day shift worker. As for the variable shift worker who requires evening, midnights, and weekend care the affordability and access to child care is almost unobtainable. As I live in a city with a large amount of variable shift workers for example in the auto industry, nursing and law enforcement and other cities like mine, the need for variable child care is of great importance. Parents like mine search high and low for quality child care often overburdening relatives and for some family is not even available. Because of the requirement for alternative child care providers outside the 6:30 am to 6:30 pm hours of operation time frame, they are often are unable to work overtime or not able to pursue or accept higher positions. And even less offer available child care on

  • 5. Persuasive Essay On Winning Games The thrill of winning a trophy for the first time is always memorable, however, it brings up the question: Is receiving an award for participating just as exciting? Participation awards are a topic highly debated among those of all ages, with none agreeing on a single answer. Individuals who are under the impression that they are essential believe they boost a childs confidence and self esteem. This may be true in some cases, but these trophies could be doing more harm than good. Although in the moment they may appear to be wholesome, they have a lasting effect on children as they grow older. Many children put loads of effort into winning awards, which is belittled by participation trophies that are not only unhelpful and unrewarding, but don t teach them the important values learned by losing. Of course, participation trophies take away from the true meaning of receiving an award and enjoying the sport. Her daughter rarely showed up for her soccer team. She had a terrible attitude, Dweck says. In spite of that, at the end she got a giant trophy and would have been devastated had she not (Turner). Children who put no effort into the sport or activity they have joined still receive an award for being a part of it. This is extremely unfair to those who actually worked hard to make their team successful because it rewards the kids who were barely even engaged in the sport. We need look no further than the 2011 World Series for the value of earning trophies

  • 7. Harrison Bergeron Dystopian Kurt Vonnegut s dystopian story, Harrison Bergeron , takes place in 2081. It is a story about everyone being equal, nobody is smarter than anybody else, nobody is better looking than anybody else, and and nobody is stronger or quicker than anybody else. This is because everybody wears handicaps to make everyone equal to each other. But basically, one boy named Harrison Bergerontakes matters into his own hands and goes against the Society. The Society basically makes all these people wear their handicaps all the time. One lesson the story suggests is that you should never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in, like Harrison. She shot them in front of everyone in the room. While this could actually be a really good point because they did get shot and killed, it fails in one region of thought to me and probably other people thinking like me also. I think that Harrison Bergeron and the ballerina s act actually did pay off for them in my line of thinking. I think that them standing up for what they believe in really did pay off for them because even though they got shot, I think what really payed off for them is that they instilled the thought of everyone being equal, and the government (or Society) holding them to that, is kind of crazy and that the people of his world should fight for what they believe in. So, Harrison Bergeron and the ballerina actually stood up for what they believed in and taught people that they too, should stand up for what they believe in, and that they, and anybody, can really make a difference with just a couple of opinions and a couple of words being spoke by the people of the country that you, and others live and dwell in. For example, in the moment of the story when the ballerina rose, it wasn t because she wanted to be Harrison Bergeron s wife, it was because she wanted to stand up for what she believed in with him. • 8. A Semiotic Analysis of the Battle Fo Algiers A Semiotic Analysis of The Battle of Algiers The Battle of Algiers, which was produced in 1966 and directed by Gillo Pontecorvo, is a film which explores the Algerian struggle for independence between 1954 and 1962. The film is constructed using a documentary style and was filmed on the actual locations where events unfolded. The Battle of Algiers is an example of neorealist filmmaking which purports to give an objective, realistic account of the battles waged between the FLN (National Liberation Front) rebels and the French military. The formal elements of style which create the narrative can be examined using semiotic theory in order to better understand how the viewer can be interpellated into particular ideological positions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mathieu is the most developed character in the film and this can be read as being metaphoric of the French culture s supposed sophistication. The mise en scГЁne when Mathieu is parading down a large street along the seafront after being recruited to command the offensive against the FLN rebels is significant. Matheiu, a tall, sturdy, middle aged man looks resplendent in full military uniform amidst cheering French locals and is presented as the messiah like character. Tellingly though, it is the dark sunglasses, rolled up sleeves and unbuttoned shirt which give him an authentic and individual appearance; he appears to be a man of action and experience. The viewer is immediately positioned to sense that Mathieu s arrival will coincide with a significant change in events in Algiers. As the viewers expectations are played out they are positioned to sympathise with Mathieu s point of view. When Mathieu first arrives in Algiers, he sets about systematically dismantling the resistance, however, he points out to his colleagues that not all of the Arabs are terrorists and that most do not present a threat at all (Odeh, 2002). This is signified by Mathieu saying: There are four hundred thousand Arabs in Algeria; are they all enemies? We know they are not. But a small minority hold sway by means of terror and violence (Pontecorvo, 1966). He describes the organisational structure of the FLN,

Stradivarius Violin Research Paper The construction of the Stradivarius violin is very unique compared to the build of other violins, whether they were made centuries ago or serve as modern day instruments. While there are a number of other rare violins and instruments of different kinds, not even one has ever came remarkably close to achieving what Antonio Stradivari has with the making of his stringed instruments, in particular, his violins. Over the years there have been many attempts to reproduce the authentic sound quality of his instruments, but no one has ever been able to achieve this goal. What exactly makes the Stradivarius violinso unique? The materials used to make the instrument along with his method of construction and the time period in which it was constructed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stradivari was actually well in touch with the results of other impressive instruments that had been constructed before his. He was able to gain experience by comparing the many instruments built by the early Brescian and Cremonese makers by deducing from them the aspects that made them unfavorable and applying these aspects to his own creative works. Every generation has contributed something to the construction of musical instruments, and Stradivari combined these centuries of contributions to create something astounding that opened up a new chapter in history. While it is a known fact that Stradivari got a lot of inspiration from previous violinmakers (Visconti, who is a well known violinist, is said to have given advice to this master of violin construction), people insist that he was a natural born genius, so much so that he has been claimed to be a superhuman . Based on scientific principles, many different works have been written based on the unsurpassed tonal qualities found in his instruments. However, there has also been a daily study of Stradivari s works that were compared to those of the craftsmen who came before him. When put to the test it was found that the density of the bellies and backs of Stradivari s instruments were made based on the principles of Gasparo, in addition to the result of a gradual progression, which Maggini and Amatis had in common with him. Those who have examined his work have noted that Stradivari adjusted the thickness of his instruments, but there is no indication that he used any principles as a guide other than what has been derived from the practices of his forerunners. Stradivari left the backs and bellies of his instruments a little thinner (or stouter), with their backs displaying a larger variation than their

  • 15. Photography Books and the Photographers Who Created Them This essay will try to be about photography books and the photographers who created them. I will try to explain on their importance in history and why they are so important to all photographers, as a whole idea and individually, as inspiration. The Pencil of Nature was written by Henry Fox Talbot it was originally published in six installments between 1844 and 1846. It included 24 calotype prints, each one was pasted in by hand These helped illustrate some of the possible applications for his new process. It was the first photographic book with illustrations to be published for commercial reasons . The Pencil of Nature was published and sold one section at a time, without any binding. This seems to be a common practise for most books during this time period. The purchasers had to pay a bookbinder to bind them once all the installments had been released It was wholly executed by the new art of,Photogenic Drawing, which was a contact printing process using salt. Talbot had planned a large number of installments; however, the book was not a financial success and he was forced to terminate the project after completing only six. This volume is regarded as an important and influential work in the history of photography. It started what was become a revolution of artist putting their work in book form, thus combining many separate photographs into one cohesive idea. We do believe though that the online presence, in not only banking, but in most things involving commerce, is growing and that it is not a bad idea to think of ideas for budget increases concerning online banking in the near future. But in strictly viewing the numbers given to us in the case that may not be a great idea at the present time. 3. What is the effective acquisition cost and lifetime value of customers acquired through the online channel? The average annual retention rate of our customers acquired online is about 55% compared to a 65% retention rate for those acquired through branches. Online customers have lower balances and end up paying higher fees. The net annual income from online customers is therefore slightly higher than that of branch customers. The acquisition cost and lifetime value are used to find the total amount of value that is derived from a customer over the customer s complete lifetime with the business. Cost acquisition is also known as the CAC. We will measure that lifetime simply as the total revenue earned to date, and in this case our

However, when those in car appliances operate simultaneously, it can be difficult for drivers to detect the approach of emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police, and fire fighting trucks. This is one of the reasons why most accidents between emergency vehicles and motorists happen at intersections [1]. Wordsworth And Constable Essay Representations of Time: Wordsworth and Constable I do not know how without being culpably particular I can give my Reader a more exact notion of the style in which I wished these poems to be written, than by informing him that I have at all times endeavored to look steadily at my subject; consequently, I hope that there is in these Poems little falsehood of description, and my ideas are expressed in language fitted to their respective importance. Something I must have gained by this practice, as it is friendly to one property of all good poetry, namely, good sense; but it has necessarily cut me off from a large portion of phrases and figures of speech which from father to son have long been regarded as the common inheritance of ... It is known that Wordsworth attended at least one of Constable s lectures on landscape painting in 1836, however, there are no recorded comments by Wordsworth regarding Constable until after the painter s death in 1837. You ll notice in the comments under the copy of The Cornfieldthat I ve passed around that Wordsworth was a subscriber to the fund that bought the painting for the National Gallery. He contributed one guinea. Other than this, there is little record of Wordsworth s feelings towards Constable and his art. The records that we do have reflect both admiration and disdain: Wordsworth called Constable both an admiral artist and a genius, but also commented (via Joseph Farington) on an 1807 Royal Academy exhibition of Constable s art that it was a poor exhibition. The Cornfield (remote) On the other hand, Constable valued Wordsworth s poetry, calling the descriptions of landscape in The Excursion beautiful. In the 1830s he twice connected Wordsworth s poetry to his own pictures, and in 1835 he wrote a sonnet that

According to the authors there is well developed regulatory EIA system established in India but coordination is vital for an effective EIA system. Interviews with the officials and consultants showed that there is weak coordination among the decision makers, SPCBs, consultants, proponents and other agencies/line departments. Proponents and consultants do not consult concerned departments and agencies during preparation of EIA reports to identify issues. The authors carried out the assessment of the EIA process and identified the following weakness in the system. There are comprehensive guidelines, legal and legislative provisions but administrative setup is very weak. EIA is just a formality as most of the time EIA is conducted after start of construction. Coordination among the consultants and planners are very weak. Involvement of stakeholders into ToR process during scoping is inadequate which results in a thin coverage of socio economic and environmental issues in the EIA reports. The quality of EIA reports are very poor and not up to the mark. The reason identified is the lack of experts and professionals. There are many weaknesses identified in the reports such as it hardly discusses the limitations and assumptions carried out by consultants.

These emotions and feelings are frequently treated by consumer researchers as primarily evaluative in nature; that is, they capture an individual s direct or global assessment of the attitude object. Affect laden experiences also manifest themselves as emotionally charged states (eg happiness, sadness, shame, disgust, anger, distress, guilt, or surprise). Research indicated that such emotional states may enhance or amplify positive or negative experiences and that later recollections of such experiences may impact what comes to mind and how the individual acts. For instance a person visiting a shopping center is likely to be influenced by his or her emotional state at the time. If the shopper is feeling particularly joyous at the moment a positive response to the shopping center may be amplified. The emotionally enhanced response to the shopping center may lead the shopper to recall with great pleasure the time spent at the shopping center. It

I also love that readingand writingare primarily the mode for instruction. This is useful, and helpful when teaching kids. It allows for repetition and practice of reading and writing. Children are constantly growing as readers and writers. What happens in the classroom influences children s emerging literacy skills and motivations for reading. Some major questions we need to be aware of with emerging literacy are; what do students know about print? What reading behaviors or interests do the children have? What do they still need to learn? Reading readiness is when children benefit from instructional experiences before engaging in reading. In the old reading readiness notion most believed that learning could not take place until maturation happened around 6.5 years old. This is not true today. Children benefit from instructional reading experiences at the infant level. I would use both of these models in my classroom I believe that it is important that reading readiness be incorporated because students have to be engaged in instructional experiences that the teacher gives in order to become a good reader. Students are constantly developing and as readers however you have to make sure the text you are reading is at the appropriate level for students. Some students may be very gifted and need to be challenged while others may be below the reading level, or can t read at all. It is up to me as a teacher to find out

Nowadays, there are many advertisements, commercials, and music videos that display gender conformity just to make a profit. Gender conformity would be defined as a set standard for both males and females on how they should appear and behave like. This is a negative thing because many people believe that they have to fit a certain role to be accepted by society. For example, in modern society it is very common for women to be attracted to a man that is taller than them, good looking, and manly. In comparison, for men, we tend to be attracted to a woman with lady like manners, big breasts, and a firm behind. These advertisements, commercials, and music videos that display genderconformity are what brainwashes the children of younger generations into believing that a maleor femaleshould look and act a certain way. • 48. The Concept of Neoliberalism Neoliberalism Neoliberalism is a concept which states that both politics and economics need to be reevaluated to respond to the sociology and the psychology of the people that are affected. This type of social structure demands that the economic system must become less strict, and advocates more free trade and open markets. According to Paul Treanor, Neoliberalism is a philosophy in which the existence and operation of a market are valued in themselves, separately from any previous relationship with the production of goods and services (Fish). One of the most important components of neoliberalism is the removal of big government from the business world and the allowance of state owned enterprises to be controlled by private citizens. Neoliberalism was a term coined by Alexander Rustow who defined it as the priority of the price mechanism, the free enterprise, the system of competition and a strong and impartial state (Mirowski 13). The basic thesis behind neoliberalism is that the government needs to evacuate their position as dominator of enterprise. Businesses should be controlled by the people and the government s function in industry only to protect the individual participants. Chris Harman writes: This ideology contended that free market economies will run smoothly, steadily producing more wealth. Any problems that arise are supposedly a result of unnatural monopolies (especially in the labour market), which prevent the free movement of prices and wages pulling
