outdoor area. Our group was quite diverse. It consisted of young high school and college students,
middle aged parents, some senior citizens, and even a girl who appeared to be no more than nine years
old. Everyone was in good spirits despite the recent tragedy. Our task seemed to be simple enough,
however, we would soon discover it was going to take more planning. We were assigned to the rear of
the school where we would sort through various bags and boxes of donations. Priscilla directed some
of us to carry items to different rooms based on their size and whether the clothes were designed more
males or females, children or adults. As organized piles began to form, these volunteers posted signs
indicating the sizes in those piles. Priscilla asked a different group to take the flat boxes and fold and
tape them to allow packing of the clothes. Another set of people were instructed to write the names of
the recipients on the boxes. The final group, which later consisted of those who completed their share
of the work already, was assigned to fill the boxes with appropriate items and seal them for delivery.

dependent on destructive fossil fuels for its energy supply. Our country is producing a quarter of the
world s pollution. Usage of fossil fuels has increasingly contributed to the CO2 emissions, which is
polluting our environment. It is destroying natural habitats and causing an increase in health problems.
If our harmful methods continue, our planet will eventually become uninhabitable. Fossil fuels are
considered a nonrenewable resource, which means we are required to find a new and clean renewable

An embolic stroke happens when the clot develops away from the brain, perhaps in a limb, and is then
carried into the brain by the bloodstream. This type of clot when the moving clot then is lodged within

as a hemorrhagic stroke. Hemorrhagic strokes are caused by arteries in the brain rupturing open or
slowly leaking into the cranium. The rupture or leakage of blood then puts pressure on the surrounding
brain cells. There are two types of hemorrhagic strokes; intracerebral which occurs when a blood
vessel in the brain bursts and spills into surrounding brain tissue damaging brain cells. Brain cells
beyond the leak are deprived of blood are also damaged. 2 The second type of hemorrhagic stroke is
called a subarachnoid hemorrhage. With a subarachnoid hemorrhage an artery on the surface of the
brain bursts and spills blood between the surface of the brain and the skull. This bleeding is often
signaled by a sudden, severe headache. 2 This type of stroke is usually caused by an aneurysm. The
third type of stroke is called a transient ischemic attack, or a mini stroke. With a transient ischemic
attack, there is only a temporary decrease is the blood flow to the brain, and thus is the least severe

Student Life In The Hawkeye
The Hawkeye is the newspaper for the University of Louisiana in Monroe (ULM). It is written by a
few students at the University of Louisiana in Monroe and is written mostly about Monroe and ULM,
but also has information in it about other cities and states. Every week the students write a paper and
publish it, the paper has stories from football games to the presidential election. Writing the Hawkeye
is for fun, but the students that do it also get paid. They have a few students who work unpaid, so they
gain experience. The Hawkeye might not seem like the most fun thing to do, but students are able to
write freely showing their own opinion, which is something that every student that loves to write

The newspaper writers compete in a competition where advisers judge the paper.and the students who
work for the Hawkeye go to New York, which is where they received third in the nation in 2015. The
students involved in the Hawkeye enjoy their job and says the environment is very family like. Olivia
Barfield, Editor in Chief and Senior Business major stated, Everyone here is doing what they want to
do later. This is simply informing students that working here is not only working because the students
can also gain friendships and have a fun time. Their are students who help the main writers and editors
write called practicum students, but do not get paid. The editors and writers are able to be a student
while also having leadership and control over the newspaper. Megan Henderson, a senior Journalism
major and copy editor said, Working here is really good for somebody in my major because it gives us
real world experience for what we want to do when we graduate. The paper is a great place to work if
students are interested in any business or writing major because it does give students the experience
without having to much pressure to make sure it is
