I was a month into summer break, the sun was radiating and the garden was bursting with life. The sky
was bright blue, and clouds are completely erased from the sky. The warmth wrapped around my skin.
I sat outside on the wooden porch right outside my house.The sky was sprayed painted with colors of
purple, pink and orange. I was sitting on a chair with a metal structure and a faded out elastic seat and
backrest. The door entering into the house is a glass sliding door with around the edges of the glass.
And the handle looks like a gold that started to rust. I walk inside seeing the laminate floor and the
walls which were a mixture of yellow and white. The hallway went all the way towards the front door.
The kitchen was right next to the door. The cabinets are around a honey oak shade. The appliances are
all a shade of silver or black. And the walls are an ugly 80 s shade of orange ish peach ish color.
Closing the door something starts to rub across my leg. I look down and it s a Siamese cat with all
black fur and shining green eyes. His fur reflected the sun bringing an ounce of color to his black fur.

Acid rain, simply put, is a mixture of rainwater and a few specific chemicals that are emitted both
naturally and non naturally. The process occurs in the lowest layer of the atmosphere, the troposphere.
When compounds such as sulfuric dioxide(SO2) and nitrogen oxides(NO, NO2), are transported to
this layer and react with the other parts of the troposphere(water, oxygen, carbon dioxide). Acid rain
was first discovered in Sweden in 1872, but has been seen as a more prevalent problem in modern
times. Although research had been conducted for many years on acid rain, it did not become an issue
for society until around the 1980 s. Acid rain s effects were vast, harming natural environments,
architecture, and even the public s health. Regulation of chemical emissions have lessened the threat

First of all, community service elicits compassion and understanding otherwise difficult to view in
everyday life. When volunteering to help organizations, causes, or people one s time is not being used
for just a singular outcome but several diverse establishments. Not only do efforts aid in promoting
positive impacts in one s society but also in one s own character.
I frequently chose to volunteer at the Lisbon Lepper Library, a public library where copious amounts
of people choose to spend their free time, because I was able to aid in various departments and interact
with diverse groups of patrons. My favorite place to contribute to in the library was the Children s
