Hordes of private equity professionals, venture capitalists and investment bankers are making a
beeline to identify lucrative business opportunities in India. Some of the profitable exits
announced on the global private equity stage, the arrival of the Indian market as a hot
destination with immense potential for private equity funds, and its readiness to embrace the
global private equity with open arms. Today, some of the world s leading private equity firms
like Blackstone Group, Carlyle Group and General Atlantic Partners, and Actis Partners are
firmly established in India. Some of the Indian firms like ICICI, IDFC and Kotak are also
increasing their investments. And many new foreign PE funds like Lightspeed Venture Partners,
Providence Equity Partners and Apex Venture Partners are planning to venture into India.
Coming to the global picture global trends show that the private equity (PE) industry was once
dominated by North America but recent years have seen global emergence of the industry. US
still contributes a two thirds of the total funds raised globally and it does not seem to be changing
in the near future. However, an interesting fact is that the proportion of the investment going back
to US is gradually decreasing every year. Till the last few years, almost 60% funds were invested
back in US with only 25% going to Europe and remaining landing in Asia Pacific. But the

Wendell Ford Informational Piece
Wendell Ford Informational Piece Wendell Ford was born on September 8, 1924 in Daviess
County, Kentucky, and, after graduating from Daviess County High School in 1942, attended the
University of Kentucky. Two years later, Ford enlisted in the army and served for two years
before his honorable discharge in the summer of 1946 and continued to serve in the National
Guard until 1962 (Quisenberry). He married Jean Neel on September 18, 1943; he has two children
and five grandchildren (Kentucky). In 1965 Ford ran for the state senate edging out a win by only
305 votes. In this, his only state senate term, he introduced twenty two pieces of legislation that
were ratified and became laws. Two years later Ford became Lt. Governor and in 1971 went on to
serve as Kentucky s 49th governor (Cross). As governor, Wendell Ford created a budget surplus by
passing a severance tax on coal, a two cent per gallon tax on gasoline, and an increase in the
corporate tax rate. He used this surplus to remove the state sales tax on food, implement several
construction projects, sharply increase funding for higher education, and local public schools. With
the large budget surplus, Ford proposed several construction projects and sharply increased funding
for higher education, the public schools, and human resources (Regional Training Center). By
reorganizing and combining several executive departments, he created super cabinets, Ford saving
the state more money and making the state government more

But due to the lack of integration in available tools, technologies and limited relevant hardware
availability, it is very difficult to produce a system which can be controlled fully as desired. The
motivation behind this research was to propose, design and implement a home automation system

developed system, a house s electric appliances can be controlled via computer and mobile
manually, automatically or by scheduling operations e.g. automatically turning on or off switches
at particular date and time. Furthermore it requires the proposition and implementation of a
security system for not only tracking the interruption but also intelligently taking immediate
responses. This proposition can lead to many benefits in terms of its usage by saving time,
improving security and reducing electricity usage by limiting the unnecessary use of electric
appliances e.g. some lights are turned on every night and need to be turned off early morning
which can be scheduled. It can also be very beneficial, in case if the user is a special/disabled
person, then he or she can control the electric appliances without going to the every switch by
foot. Due to its mobile use, it could be very use full for busy persons or those who normally forget
things e.g. if some

San Antonio Museum Of Art Analysis
Upon visiting the San Antonio Museum of Art I found nothing about art extremely interesting
and I honestly wasn t looking forward to spending a majority of my day looking at art pieces.
However, as I approached the museum I was in awe of how beautiful the building was. The way
it was placed in downtown San Antonio was absolutely astonishing. As I walked through the
huge glass doors I knew I was in for a pleasant surprise. I carefully took the time to examine each
artwork and read the descriptions of each one. I found it extremely difficult to find just one I liked
and surprisingly I disliked a lot more pieces than I thought I would. I ended up having to actually
walk through the museum three times in order to find my chosen pieces. I didn t... Show more

This piece was created by Willie Cole in the year 1993. Willie Cole was born in America in
1995. I found this piece in the contemporary art section. I believe that this piece caught my eye
because of how huge it was, it was exactly 49 x 96 inches. This piece was so huge that it almost
took up an entire wall of the museum. This piece of artwork was made out of oil stick, chalk,
and latex on masonite and wood. To me, it kind of looked like chalk on a chalkboard with
nothing else. The way that the word America is placed out on the canvas gives just enough room
below each letter to write words that begin with each of the letters that spell out the word
America. I was unsure as to why this piece was created the way it was but with further research
on the piece I realized that Willie Cole created this art piece while sitting in front of the television
and writing down words said by the news reporters that contain the first letters of A, M, E, R, I, C,
A he also obtained the words by searching through the New York Times. How Do You Spell
America #6 is also one of the eight works that Billie Cole uses a chalkboard for. The letters that
contain the letter A that were popular in the news are Authorized, At, Abortion, Ask, A, After,
Ambushed, Annual, Asprin, Angered, African, An Activist, American, and Able. The words that
contain the letter M were Mood, Medical, Murderer s, Me, Multi, Midday, Motorist, May, Motorist,
Mother s, Melting Pot, Minister, Malaise, and Men. For E the words were Enhancing, Emergency,
Error, Eleven, Ethnic, Entire, Exits, Expenditure, Even, Excitedly, Embryos, Empire, Espouses,
Eases, and Everywhere. The words that make up the letter R are Remedy, Rooms, Ravaged,
Reasons, Rule, Remaining, Roadway, Report, Relieve, Ripped, Remain, Rejects, Rightwing, Right,

Essay on Manipulation through Language in The Memorandum
Manipulation through Language in The Memorandum
How one utilizes language to perpetuate certain images or perspectives can greatly influence the
way people think. One can use language to manipulate the minds of others and bring them under
some form of subjugation. In Vaclav Havel s The Memorandumcertain characters use this tactic of
manipulation through different means that involve language, and in the process, they gain the
authority or recognition they are seeking. Ballas promotes the new creation of the synthetic
language, Ptydepe, which reduces humans by mechanizing them for the purpose of a more
scientific and efficient system of communication. The language is created so that people will show

situation. He then convinces Gross that he would be more valuable as Deputy Director while he
fills Gross position as Managing Director. He abruptly informs Gross, I ll go and get my things,
while you, Mr. Gross, will kindly move out of my desk (1.5), to which Gross responds with no
resistance, As you wish, Mr. Ballas (1.5). Ballas has adroitly utilized the skill of duplicity to attain
his power over people. He contrives his dialogue in a manner that influences the thoughts and
actions of Gross. With this ingenuity of speech, Ballas is able to gain formal approval of
introducing Ptydepe and conquers Gross title as managing Director.
Helena is another character who uses language to her advantage in order to achieve state. She
does not use deception, as Ballas does; rather, she addresses others in a manner that connotes
their inferiority or lack of power over her. She often refers to others as sweetie, love, or by their
first names. She addresses Ballas, the Managing Director, as Jan. By recognizing people on a
personal basis and in not acknowledging the formal identity of others, she presents herself with an
air of authority. Furthermore, she also patronizes Maria, who is

American Sign Language ( Asl )
Classifiers are handshapes we use in American sign language (ASL) to show the movement,
placement, orientation, size, and shape of a noun. Since ASL is a rule governed language when
using classifiers you must first identify the noun, then you can use the classifier to show how the
object moves or is placed in relationship to other objects (Aron). American sign languageuses eight
different kinds of classifiers for specific categories.
Since classifiers cover a wide variety of uses there are several categories that a classifier can be
used for, as a Descriptive classifier (DCL) which is used for describing an object or a person.
The story TIMBER the signer describes a lumberjack s appearance. The signer describes the
lumberjacks large muscles and large chest; he describes the plaid shirt the lumberjack is wearing
as well. Locative Classifiers (LCL) are representing an object in a specific place and sometimes
movement. The handshape is given followed by spatial or locative information. In the story
TIMBER the signer uses several Locative classifiers, one of them is when he shows the forest
being in front of the lumberjack.
Another classifier is the Semantic Classifier (SCL) that represents a category of nouns such as a
vehicle or a person. The handshape is given then information about specific movement. In the
story TIMBER the signer uses the semantic classifier to show a person walking in the woods as
well as a tree about to fall. Plural Classifiers (PCL) indicates

John Owen s Holy Spirit
JOHN OWEN S VINDICATION OF HOLY SPIRIT S DEITY AND ITS BENEFITS FOR
BELIEVERS
Against the Socinians, John Owen vindicated the deity of the Holy Spirit, as well as his benefits
for believers, within a Christological context. The Socinians were not the only opponents Owen
dealt with, but they were notorious for their anti Trinitarian views. On Owen s theological
engagement, Crawford Gribben assessed the Socinian threat as a gift to Owen for drawing attention
to the ambiguity of the boundaries of orthodoxy permitted by the state, and that Owen took
advantage of the moral panic. While it is true that Owen produced theological works in response to
Socinianism, Owen regarded Socinianism as a major threat. The same applies to other ... Show more

Before examining the doctrines of Socinian and those of Owen, however, it is important to consider
the historical context of these theological controversies.
Historical Context
John Owen s Context
John Owen (1616 1683) was born in Stadhampton, near Oxford, to Henry Owen, a man of
Puritan sympathies. After finishing local grammar school, Owen matriculated at Queen s
College, Oxford, in 1631. Owen achieved his Bachelor of Arts in 1632. He finished his Master of
Arts studies in 1635 and ordained deacon. Then Owen engaged in a 7 year course for a Bachelor
of Divinity. In 1642, Owen published A Display of Arminianism
, the first among many of his works.
Owen soon received much attention and was invited to preach before Parliament.
In 1649, after the execution of Charles, Owen again preached to parliament. Here, Oliver
Cromwell was present and chose Owen as his chaplain. Owen was then appointed Dean of Christ
Church, Oxford, in 1651. In the following year, Owen became vice chancellor and served until
1657. As a preacher who joined Cromwell s revolution, Owen s appointment was a symbolic victory
over monarchy. In other words, the new appointments to key university positions were symbolic of
the wider ambitions of the Cromwellian administration.
As the Oxford Reformer, as Gribben put it, Owen promoted Calvinistic piety that transcended the
political and cultural division of the university. In 1651, for example, Owen outlined the qualities of
Calvinistic piety when he

The Man Behind Alice. The Victorian Era
The Man Behind Alice The Victorian Era is known for many things. Within the time frame of
Queen Victoria s reign, there were major events such as Ireland s potato famine, the Crimean
War, as well as the industrial revolution. In the literary world, however, the era sprouted many of
the world s famous Victorian based novels that are still being read today. Alice s Adventures in
Wonderland is well known by most people for its vivid use of the imagination. The story itself is
one that promotes creativity, open mindedness and viewing the world in different perspectives.
While Lewis Carroll s story captivates and inspires people of all ages, what brings a young girl s
adventure to life are the illustrations behind it. The story of Alice is nothing without the visual aid
of the original illustrator, Sir John Tenniel. While there are some Alice lovers that do not know who
John Tenniel is, those that do, understand how important Tenniel was in creating the Victorian
novel as well as its sequel. The question that now stands because of this is, how involved was John
Tenniel to the Alice novels? While the world best knows Alice s Adventures in Wonderland best
due to the words of Lewis Carroll, it is nothing without the visual representations and influences by
Sir John Tenniel.
Tenniel s beginnings start when he was born in London in the year 1820. In his youth, he has done
a great many things, including attending the British Royal Academy to learn his craft. These ways

Montresor And Fortunato Similarities
There have been many books and short stories written about revenge, but the list shrinks that
compare to The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe. The story of two men, Montresor and
Fortunato. Montresor had been wounded by Fortunato a thousand times (Poe) and then during one
party, Fortunato insults Montresor for the last time. The setting in The Cask of Amontilladoprovides
a perfect area for Montresor to commit the crime. Montresor s underground catacomb provides a
movement from the freedom from the outside world to the constraints of the underground. The way
Poe writes about it is meant to make us hyper aware of these emotions through careful attention to
the setting. (Shmoop). The short stories setting is an area of confinement,... Show more content on

The way Montresor is talking about the story suggests that he isn t over what he did to Fortunato.
Him still talking about an event that occurred fifty years ago means that he can t forget it. It s
ironic because it seems he is still locked up from the event, while Fortunato is a free spirit and can
do anything. All the trouble Montresor went through and Fortunato is still free, just not in the real
world. A source explains it like this You can certainly argue that Montresor presents a contrast to
Fortunato s fate in that he finds freedom at the end of the story: he is alive. (Shmoop). Fortunato s
death can be seen as the ultimate freedom from the world. The catacombs represent a prison esque
place, but Fortunato maybe got his freedom inside of

Augustine of Hippo s biography The Confession reveals a transformation of a youthful sinner to a
religious adult. Augustine provides multiple events throughout his life that reveals his belief in
God strengthen as he aged. In Book I Augustine looks back to the point where he is a young boy
who commits the act of stealing a pear. Augustine states when the pear passed his lips it was the
sin that gave it flavor He mentions how he did not steal the pear because he was hungry, but it was
for the thrill of performing a vice. Augustine s decision to incorporate his experiences from his life
in The Confession strengthen the main point in his writing, which was to demonstrate how Goddid
not create evil, but it was man s action that created evil in the world. Augustine purposely chose to

life. The story of Augustine and the pear coincide with the story of the Garden of Eden. Eve ate
the forbidden fruit, which in her case was an apple. When she had eaten the apple it was the origin

The Aeronautical Telecommunication Network ( Atn )
2.3 AERONAUTICAL TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK (ATN) :
2.3.1 Introduction
In the early 1980s, the international civil aviation community started to express concern about the
limitations on existing facilities and procedures, and their inability to cope with increasing air
traffic in the future years. Consequently Special Committee on FANS was established to study,
identify and assess new concepts and technology in the field of air navigation, including satellite
technology, and also to make recommendations thereon for the development of air navigation for
international civil aviation over a period of 25 years. A major result was the global
Communications, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) concept
which identified the use of data communications and of satellite based systems as being the two
major areas of improvement to the then existing systems. The CNS/ATM concept was further
developed and redefined, after which the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN) became
an integral part of CNS/ATM systems. The ATN comprises application entities and communication
services which allow ground, air ground and avionics data subnetworks to interoperate. This is
done by adopting common interface services and protocols based on International Standards. The
ATN has been designed to provide data communication services to Air Traffic Service (ATS)
provider organizations and Aircraft Operating agencies for the following types of communication
traffic:

The Study of Honor in the Renaissance Period
The study of honor in Renaissance cities presents an intriguing paradox. On the one hand, honor
seemed more dear than life itself , and provided one of the essential values that shaped the daily
lives of urban elites and ordinary city folk. For wealthy merchants and aspiring artisans, honor
established a code of accepted conduct against which an individual s actions were measured by
his or her peers, subordinates and social superiors. Possessing honor helped to locate a person in
the social hierarchy and endowed one with a sense of personal worth. The culture of honor, which
originated with the medieval aristocracy, directed the everyday activities of urban dwellers of
virtually all social groups from at least the fourteenth century on.... Show more content on

The wide array of ritual behaviors in word and deed reveals both the creativity of those who had
different lines of access to honor resources, as well as the conditionality of the code of honor itself.
Rituals marked important sites for the creation of gender identity. Ritual activities provided the
stage settings for women and men to carry out socially appropriate behaviors marking key points
along the moving edge of their life course. In the process, rituals posited a set of gender
expectations that were complicated by the realities of everyday life, for ritual practices embodying
definitions of masculinity and femininity were alive to other variables such as age, class, personal
circumstances, or changing political relationships. Men and women constructed both each other s
honor and gender identity by means of a complicated network of oppositions and dependencies .
Shows a view of gender constructs alongside the practical relationships and tasks that bound men
and women together.
Three types of ritual activity inflected the relationship between gender and honor in different ways
and involved different sets of participants. Honor was gendered in rites of passage rooted in
kinship, specifically nuptial rites events that helped anchor a family s reputation in the

Hedge Fund Vs Mutual Fund Essay
Hedge Fund vs Mutual Fund, Understanding The Differences
Dwayne Strocen
By Dwayne Strocen
Apr 30, 2010
In 1949 Australian Alfred Jones was credited with the term hedge fund . Historically it derives its
name from the use of hedging to manage risk while achieving superior returns. Today, a hedge fund
is an un regulated investment vehicle designated for sophisticated, also known as the Accredited
Investor .
Mutual funds gained popularity in the 1980 s. Prior to this time, the problem of the small investor
was in obtaining sufficient knowledge to make informed investment decisions, and so the average
person avoided stock market investing. Instead money was held in traditional savings accounts or
placed with a bank in a Guaranteed Investment Certificate ( GIC ) or Certificate of Deposit ( CD ).
What to do. The small investor was not able to obtain a professional money manager without $10
million or more to start. But what if he could pool his money with other small investors to reach this
minimum threshold. And so the mutual fund was created to address these exact concerns.
The mutual fund concept was simple, allow the un sophisticated investor access to the strategies of
the professional money manager. This was done by pooling small sums of money, as little as $20.00
deposited monthly. In return, the fund company would use professional money managers using
professional investment strategies to easily out perform traditional bank savings products.
The mutual fund investor

The Importance Of Equality And Equality
We have shifted into an age of acceptance, diversity and equality. However we don t all agree the
best way to become equal. Many believe we should all be the same to be equal, some believe we
should be boosted to all have the same outcome, but in that they are giving different chances. This
is a long standing debate and it will take a society coming together and agreeing to fix these
issues. Whether or not we have the answer these ideas were explored by cell phone manufacturers
in recent years. With their two advertisements, they both share themes of acceptance and diversity,
however they have different ways of coming to that conclusion. Early in May of 2016, Googlehad
released an advertisement for their operating system, Android. This advert was the story of a
piece of paper on his first day as a new student in high school. This paper person walked into the
school and was immediately ostracized by the majority of the scissor students, they all glared at
him as he walked down the hall. Not having any reprieve he looked around and got hope when he
saw more paper people. He walked towards them, and they turned to him, exposing drawings on
them, implying they are bad paper people, and they are bullies in this school. They then proceeded
to assault him, hitting him with a spitball, pushing his books on the ground, shoving him down,
then shaking him for all of his paper clips. Then he opened his eyes from his punishment to see an

How To Write An Essay About The Alchemist
The bestseller novel The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is known by many people for its valuable
lessons and ideas. However, I am not one of these people as I am not fond of this book.
Opinion: The Alchemist uses elements of magical fantasy that aren t familiar to me, thrilling and
action packed events are not present, and I do not agree with some of the lessons that the book
portrays.
Components of magical fantasy are used in the novel that I don t understand. Omens, Universal
Languages, and mysterious forces aren t principles that I consider in my daily life and therefore
they aren t familiar to me. For example, Santiago uses Omens as signs that guide him throughout
life. Omens are not a concept that I have learned about until reading this novel. These signals do
not make much sense to me, seeming much too coincidental to be real. Santiago also connects
things in his life through Universal Languages, such as the desert and the caravan. However, a
language that is universal or a language between inanimate things doesn t exist in real life,
making it hard for a reader to imagine such a thing. Finally, in the novel, there are mysterious
forces that teach people of their personal legends, such as the King was to Santiago. It does make
sense for people to realize their dreams and goals through experiences or people. This isn t the
case always in the novel, instead, specific forces inform people of their ... Show more content on

Why Students Should Start Later In School
There are multiple reasons why schools start way too early in the morning. Some reasons are
exhausted students, more time to get ready for teachers and students, etc. These reasons support
what y schools should start later in the day. Waking up early is a challenge for some students.
This is mainly because of huge workloads and getting ready for the school day ahead of them.
Students need to rest or they will not have any good grades in school. This is the same thing for
teachers. They have to grade hundreds of student s tests. That would take a lot of time and make
them tired for the school day ahead of them. If school started earlier than students and teachers

They have to get up at ridiculous times to get to school and setup. The teachers would most
likely be exhausted and would not be efficient during the school day. This would lead to bad
lessons and bad grades. If the school day started later in the day then the teachers would have
more time to set up and come up with better lessons. This would lead to good attitude and be
energized. Students usually never have enough time to finish their daily routine. They have to
get up early and go through their whole routine. After they go through their routine they eat
breakfast and they are ready to go. Unfortunately, that is not how it happens usually happens.
Students sometimes do not get to eat their breakfast. This will result in drowsiness during class
and inefficiency. If the school day started later in the day then students would have more time to
get their routine finished and eat breakfast. Also, they might have enough time to finish
assignments. Parents are also affected by this because they have to make lunches and drive the
kids to school. Parents need to wake up early and need to drop their kids off at school. This can be

minor amounts of crude oil from holes in the ground. It was not until the mid nineteenth century
when Colonel Edwin Drake discovered the how to retrieve even larger quantities of oil. He

Edwin Drake established the very first oil well in Titusville, Pennsylvania. After Colonel Edwin

summer sea ice in the Arctic has decreased dramatically, and could even disappear completely
within the next hundred years. Evidence shows that some of these depletions in the cryosphere are
human induced, specifically the fragmentation of sea ice when oil tankers break through the
frozen waters to make a passageway. This fragmentation leads to global sea rise and habitat
destruction for large predators such as polar bears and seals, in addition to other Arctic wildlife.

How Did The Airplane Change The World
Planes are very helpful and instrumental in the time we live in. Wilbur and Orville Wright fell
in love with the idea of flight through watching birds soar through the air. While the Wright
brothers wanted to glide in the sky, they had no idea what the future of the airplane would look
like. From the time that they designed and began taking test flights in 1903, their airplane
became transformed. As a society we have become dependent on the modern day aircraft.
Whether for travel, deliveries, or for use during war, the airplane is an amazing invention that
has changed our world. Once the Wright brothers took their first flight, the airplane began
changing rapidly. In 1915 the United States started making fighter planes to use in WWI. The
plane quickly changed the face of war. Airplanes were now able to take pictures of the enemies
land, attack without using ground troops, and support the needed ground troops in a new way.
Today the Air Force uses planes for their speed, cargo capacity, support to countries in need, and
for possible bomb drops. Bombers, attack aircraft, and fighters are what make up the Air Force.
Without planes, a lot of lives would be lost.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Chinoiserie s Influence On American Architecture
Chinoiserie arose as a movement in response to the strict restraints of the Baroque style. More
broadly, this public reaction is characterized as the Rococo style, which Louis introduced in his
court in France around 1750. The Rococo style played with the imagination; whimsy, asymmetry
and high contrast in both scale and color exemplify the art and architecture of the style.
Chinoiserie grew out of the Rococo style as European became fascinated with the Far East,
specifically intrigued by Chinese ceramics. The blue and white luster glaze pottery depicting
imaginative accounts of Chinese life became incredibly popular in the late 18th century. And, while
Chinoiserie s influence on architecture was present at Versailles as early as 1670, the... Show more

with state of the art technology. The conservatory has 10 computer controlled climactic zones under

In 2006, a third version of an alpine house was developed, the Davis Alpine House (fig.), with an

Further, in 2008, Marks Barfield architects, the masterminds behind the London Eye (fig), built the

visibility, constructed the Treetop Walkway over the Arboretum to be level with the treetops. The

A Short Story Of Arcia
Winter was here. Snow fell from the sky in waves, spraying the town with whiteness. Ice patches
formed on sidewalks, causing pedestrians to slip and fall when they weren t careful enough.
Cold winds tore at everyone s skin, and the sky was a bleak plaster white. Men, women, and
children alike all avoided the wintry weather as much as they could in houses, in cars, and even in
bus stops. But for the students at Crosby Heights, they were going through something entirely
different. As much as they loved winter in all its pleasure, they didn t spend their recesses crafting
snow forts or tossing snowballs. 42 of them in particular had something else on their minds, and it
had nothing to do with the holidays or the New Year... I

A Rock And The Attention Span
There aren t too many things I can remember very clearly, especially during elementary school.
Six years ago, everyone had the IQ of a rock and the attention span as much as three inches.
However, something I do recall was a very strange experience I don t think I can forget. At that
time, I was running for my life because someone was chasing me. Or that s what my seven year old
self had thought.
2010, first grade. That Friday was unusually hot. The sun s rays had melted all the thick blankets of
snow winter had given. Shoes shuffling on the rough blacktop, creaks from the chains of the
swings, and lots of chattering from other classmates. It s quite faint, my memory, of the how it

A few moments later, a startling yell from my teacher seemed to peak only the interest of me. After
all, she yelled my name across the room. Instinctively, my marker fell from my hand and my
attention was towards the door. Standing there, were two people. Two other first graders.
One girl, one boy. The boy was unfamiliar, but he had a look in his eyes, one that I can t explain.
And the girl, she was cupping her hand on her cheek. That girl standing at the door, was the same
girl chasing her prey. My teacher, off to the side, looked like disbelief has slapped her across the
face. Ironic because, the words that came out of her mouth, sounded like she was asking me if I
had slapped the girl standing at the door.
Before my mind could process the question, my eyebrows raised themselves with my eyes
widened too. Questions and other thoughts started buzzing around my empty head, not knowing
where to start. Resuming back to reality, all eyes were on me. There were only two pairs of eyes
on me, but it felt a thousand more. They were people I didn t really know. Same age as me,
equal to me. So, how were they so intimidating? My gaze dropped to the floor, feeling the weight
of the world on my shoulders. If they re the same, why couldn t my mouth move? Why couldn t I
just spit it out? I figured at this time the boy was probably her witness, and she was playing the
victim. What do I say now? She s got proof of

Equality of Opportunity
Equality of opportunity
Every child deserves to be educated regardless or race, color or ethnic background. Children from
all social backgrounds have equal rights to attend school where they receive an education that will
prepare them to compete on equal terms in the economic system.
The highest performing education systems are those that combine equity with quality. They give all
children opportunity for a good quality education. There should be policies in place for education
systems to help all children succeed in their schooling. School district should provide support to the
disadvantaged students and schools, as improving opportunities for them that benefit education
system and societies as a whole.
Students learn more in school that at home, so we should make sure that they get great education
so they will have all the tools to become successful in life. If we fail to do so, they will be
penalized for life. According to article Equality and Quality in Education published by OECD, the
student who leaves school without completing upper secondary education or without the relevant
skills has fewer life respects. This can be seen in lower initial and life earning, more difficulties in
adapting to rapidly changing knowledge based economics, and higher risk of unemployment. The
same child will also have fewer chance of taking further learning opportunities and less able to
participate in the civic and democratic aspects of modern societies. Besides this educational failure

Hook Every day in New Zealand animals are beaten, neglected, or forced to struggle for survival.
For some neglected animals, they have little hope for survival and are forced to live out their
days without the compassion they deserve. Some lucky animals are found and rescued, given the
chance to experience how great life and humans can be; others aren t so lucky. To grow as a
nation, we must fight for these abused animals rights and severely punish heartless neglectful
owners. We need to be their voices!. Animals are living beings, not to be treated like objects. The ill
treatment of animals is sometimes not thought of as a crime and these cases are regularly ignored.

Serial Killers And The Serial Killer
Although the prevalence of the serial killer is ultimately unknown, many researchers agree
about one half of 1% of homicides are determined to be the product of serial killers (Homant
Kennedy, 2014). In order to prevent future victims, improve the ability of law enforcement to
detect and apprehend, potentially incorporate treatment for current serial killers, and increase
the ability to detect potential future serial killers it is important to identify characteristics that
may cause one to become a serial killer. The question researchers have strived to answer is are
serial killers born or are there explicit factors that contribute to someone ultimately becoming a
serial killer? Researchers have potentially exposed several factors that potentially contribute to
one becoming a serial killer. These conditions are notably greater in prevalence in known serial
killers compared to the general population. These factors consist of family dynamics/parental
characteristics, experienced child abuse (physical, sexual, and neglect), and psychological
disorders. Serial Killers: Born or Created Dependent Variable A serial killer is an individual who
has killed three or more people during separate incidents and at possibly different geographic
locations where there is a cooling off period between each homicide (Homant Kennedy, 2014).

The Voting Rights Act Of 1965
The United States is a country anchored on the principle of inclusivity and mutual respect. The
country has a dark past characterized with instances of racial profiling and discrimination which
culminated into civil unrests realized in the mid 20th century. Moving forward, the country adopted
strategic frameworks that were to guide towards a new era devoid of discrimination. The aspect of
political participation was one fundamental instrument that was subsequently integrated into the
American social dynamics. The enactment of the VotingRights Act of 1965 sought to empower the
minority groups to participate in the electoral processes, and to eliminate the barriers that existed in
the political landscape. Some of the achievements of the act... Show more content on

Section 5 highlights that any changes in the state electoral laws, which are deemed to have the
potential to disenfranchise the minority groups must first be approved by the federal agencies
including the US attorney general and the US District Court for D.C. In addition, the section
defines the need for the states with a significant population of minority groups to develop bilingual
ballot papers to ensure that the voters make informed decisions when taking part in the electoral
process.
On the other hand, section 4 of the act highlights the need to adopt special coverage formulas to
integrate the minority groups in the entire electoral process. In many instances, the act requires
that such special coverage formulas to be cleared by the federal agencies before they can be
applied. The fundamental goal of the preclearance provision is to prevent discrimination against
certain groups of voters who may be deemed to antagonize the general position of their local
political trends. However, this provision has since been deemed unconstitutional in the Shelby
County v. Holder Case of 2013 (Fuller, 2014). Despite the perceived unconstitutionality of the two
sections of the act, and the attempts to review the act to eliminate the clauses, analyses of the
political dynamics indicate that the two sections are still relevant in American politics.

The first factor which makes the sections necessary is that they

Effects Of Juvenile Delinquency
The group of people that typically falls into this idea of juvenile delinquency associated with
dangerous or criminal usually points finger to individuals of a lower income class. Not all
juvenile delinquents are from the lower class, but majority are; therefore, for a public s eye view
of delinquent behaviors are most likely caused by those juveniles of a poor background because
they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Being of lower class falls prey to the malnutrition
and/or maltreatment by parents or guardians. With maltreatment and lack of positive
reinforcements in discipline as it should be; their way of discipline may have been carried out as
physical punishments and corrective actions for unruly behavior which in turn enhanced negative
reinforcements of actions and delinquency. Children who were mistreated by physical abuse and
neglected increased the likelihood risk of committing unruly behavior and actions of juvenile
delinquency. There are those juvenile delinquents that are from upper class, but being within the
upper class category gives them the access to have the legal means of being acquitted where those
of lower class are automatically considered a criminal or scapegoat whether they have committed a
crimeor not; therefore, it increases the likelihood of this individual to commit criminal activity in
the future because the innocence of this individual was already lost where everyone already made
the judgement that he is the guilty one based on what their status is.
Between the 18th and 19th centuries, juvenile delinquency became a problematic outbreak that
spread throughout England. Juvenile delinquency became such a widespread problem as a disease
that affected the norms of society with its abusive and violent manner carried out by juveniles. With
the increasing of undisciplined juveniles throughout the country triggered the formations of gangs
from its increasing numbers of members. Due to population growth and poverty with lack of
guardianships in the country caused juvenile to engage in deviant behaviors and committing petty
crimes against citizens. Many juveniles grew up only to know the life of crimes and conducting
themselves in deviant behaviors associating themselves

Introduction to Poetry, YouВ

Introduction to Poetry by Billy Collins
People are apt to learn new information, but it takes time, practice, and a good teacher, in order to
do it correctly and to retain understanding. This poem shows the author s (a teacher s) frustration
towards the elementary mistake that inexperienced readers or students make when poetry is first
introduced. Unable to read the poem properly, they often do not capture a poem s natural beauty
and truth. The author says to observe a poem to see its true colors or its natural state (590; lines

poem to see its meaning and understand (lines 9 11). However, the author simply sees people

I wanted to write about something that was meaningful, and I found it! Truthfully, it read a little
unclear the first time. The poem allowed me to place my own thoughts into its setting, thoughts
that brought a tear to my eye, for the words of the poem allowed me to connect emotionally to it.
I felt I could relate to it because I see my boyfriend s clothes fill my closet; and although he is not
missing , he is not always by my side (long distant relationship). I try very hard to keep things the
same after he leaves and continue moving forward once he is gone; but it is not the same, as the
poem explains. I enjoyed reading the poem even if it brought me nothing but teardrops .
The author of this piece of work is a famous singer, Bruce Springsteen. He has won over 20 music

prolific and pithy meaning is a mark of a poet, indeed. Moreover, that is why I enjoyed his form of
poetry because it is a style intended for singing not reading aloud.

The Pros And Cons Of Capitalization
Capitalization
We live in the era of Globalization, which refers to the international integration of goods,
services, people, and money with the purpose of making an area more profitable or productive,
or useful. This term sounds good for everybody. If we exchange all these components, the living
of the global citizens raises, but this is not all true. In fact, this exchange originates more
macrolevel issues globally, and with these problems, also microlevel issues. I m not saying it has
not been an effective way all these past years to benefit the population with a more worldwide
opportunity to success, but has it been addressed correctly? Let s take a look to some of the
problems that overrun our world.
Many nations go blind with the idea of producing more profitable people for their countries
economic growth to the point that they strength up iceberg issues in society, problems that only
their top are known but their bottom are unacknowledged. When we explore these issues deeper we
find that there is an inequality in human rights. One of the main rights that is not given in a same
quality to everybody is education. For instance, students from wealthy families get the chance to go
to good schools and universities, while students living in poverty have minimum chances to go to
good schools or they don t even get the opportunity to attend college, as it has been proven to us in

Reduction of Diarrheal Diseases in Under-Five Children in...
Introduction
The World Health Organization (WHO) describes diarrheal disease as the second leading cause of
mortality in children under five years old, accounting for around 760000 deaths of children every
year (Lweendo, 2010). Diarrhea is usually transmitted through the faecal oral route. From the public
health perspectives, contact with human excreta due to improper faecal disposal, poor hygiene in
terms of hand washing to mention a few are the most potential risk factors. It has been documented
that diarrhea causes of malnutrition in children under five years. Diarrheal disease causes loss of
water and salt in the body and can lead to death. This disease is very dangerous for children under

As it has been earlier pointed out, majority of people lives in slums. This situation poses a
challenge of attaining Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of halving by 2015 the proportion
of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation.
Epidemiologically, diarrhea diseases are associated with poor hygiene in terms of hand washing
(Lweendo, 2010). For example, the Cross sectional study that was conducted among the Lagos
community revealed that only 46% washed their hands before eating. In the same study it was
revealed that 3.6% washed their hands after cleaning a defecated child and 0.3% after cleaning
running nose (International Journal of Infection Control 2013).
Poverty influences the state of hygiene and sanitation and vice versa (Lweendo, 2010). In Lagos
alone, it is reported that children who lives in poorest socioeconomic strata have lower health
indicators as compared to those from wealthiest. For example, mortality rate among children under
five from the urban settings is 85/1000 while mortality rate in rural settings where socioeconomic
is low is 219/1000 live births (Senbanjo, Olayiwola et al. 2013). Overcrowding, unhygienic
conditions, low income households and families are conditions that make children more vulnerable
to disease many diseases such as diarrhea.

The Endocrinology Of Male And Female Reproduction
Reproductive physiology is comprised of many tightly coordinated functions of the endocrine
system including the hypothalamus, pituitary and reproductive organs whose dynamic function
plays several critical roles in growth and development as well was reproduction. The hypothalamic
pituitary gonadal axis plays a critical role in the development and regulation of the reproductive
system. These tightly regulated functions within the pituitary must respond to continuously
changing signals from the central nervous system gonads and provide the quick responses. The
hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis is comprised of major hormones, including gonadotropin
releasing hormone(GnRH), luteinizing hormone(LH) and follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) and
operate through both positive and negative feedback loops in mammals.1 When toxicants affect any
part of this axis s function, either by altering cellular activity or the signals themselves, the
physiology can impacted by immediate and downstream effects. An understanding of the

The Differences Between Westernized American Culture And...
East Asian Culture This world we live in is such a diverse place with many different cultures,
religions, and traditions. Every culture has their own traditions and rules that they abide by, because
this is the norm for that culture. By stepping out of what you were taught in your culture, and
choosing to learn and try to understand why other cultures do things differently, you earn a new
perceptive on this world. You earn a new respect for not only this other culturethat you are learning
about, but also for your own culture. This paper will be comparing and contrasting the differences
between westernized American culture and East Asian Islamic culture, with a focus on how gender
and religion can influence the everyday life of the individuals living in these different cultures.
American culture can be very diverse on its own; it is the melting pot after all. There are many

town. It was a small farm town, with a mainly white population, where everyone went to the same
church on Sunday, and

Michaels dream has a sense of uncertainty looming about it. In Michael s dream he is in a
blackbirds nest with his baby sister. His little sister is in the form of a bird cross human. There
are two doctors at the bottom of the tree they are in. The doctors are equipped with a table of
knifes and scissors. The two men are beckoning Michael to come down with the baby. Bring her
down! he yelled we ll make her good as new . The knives and scissors symbolise Michaels
worries of what might happen to the baby if he takes her down or if he puts his trust into the
doctors. The line we ll make her as good as new and go on baby fly are taunting Michaels
protective instinct for his sister. They are almost testing him seeing how far they can take him.
When Michael sees the great bare patches on her skin it implies that she is weak that she is not
strong enough to fly. She teetered on the brink indicates Michaels worries of close she is to
falling or how close she is to dying. Almond describes that baby being covered in feathers and
being warm and soft. These are some characteristics of skellig. At this point almond is connecting
the baby to skellig. He is suggesting that michael is also worried about skellig dying, he is also
teetering on the

Some of the Indian firms like ICICI, IDFC and Kotak are also increasing their investments. Two years later, Ford enlisted in the army and served for two years before his honorable discharge in the summer of 1946 and continued to serve in the National Guard until 1962 (Quisenberry). But due to the lack of integration in available tools, technologies and limited relevant hardware availability, it is very difficult to produce a system which can be controlled fully as desired. The motivation behind this research was to propose, design and implement a home automation system i.e. Smart House; a computerized and digitally mobile home automation system towards electric appliance control and security system. Using 488 International Journal of Emerging Sciences, 1(3), 487 503, September 2011 developed system, a house s electric appliances can be controlled via computer and mobile manually, automatically or by scheduling operations e.g. automatically turning on or off switches at particular date and time. Furthermore it requires the proposition and implementation of a security system for not only tracking the interruption but also intelligently taking immediate responses. This proposition can lead to many benefits in terms of its usage by saving time, improving security and reducing electricity usage by limiting the unnecessary use of electric appliances e.g. some lights are turned on every night and need to be turned off early morning which can be scheduled. It can also be very beneficial, in case if the user is a special/disabled person, then he or she can control the electric appliances without going to the every switch by foot. However, as I approached the museum I was in awe of how beautiful the building was. The way it was placed in downtown San Antonio was absolutely astonishing. As I walked through the huge glass doors I knew I was in for a pleasant surprise. I carefully took the time to examine each artwork and read the descriptions of each one. Since ASL is a rule governed language when using classifiers you must first identify the noun, then you can use the classifier to show how the object moves or is placed in relationship to other objects (Aron). American sign languageuses eight different kinds of classifiers for specific categories. Since classifiers cover a wide variety of uses there are several categories that a classifier can be used for, as a Descriptive classifier (DCL) which is used for describing an object or a person. The Socinians were not the only opponents Owen dealt with, but they were notorious for their anti Trinitarian views. On Owen s theological engagement, Crawford Gribben assessed the Socinian threat as a gift to Owen for drawing attention to the ambiguity of the boundaries of orthodoxy permitted by the state, and that Owen took advantage of the moral panic. Historical Context John Owen s Context John Owen (1616 1683) was born in Stadhampton, near Oxford, to Henry Owen, a man of Puritan sympathies. After finishing local grammar school, Owen matriculated at Queen s College, Oxford, in 1631. Owen achieved his Bachelor of Arts in 1632. He finished his Master of Arts studies in 1635 and ordained deacon. Then Owen engaged in a 7 year course for a Bachelor of Divinity. In 1642, Owen published A Display of Arminianism , the first among many of his works. Owen soon received much attention and was invited to preach before Parliament. In 1649, after the execution of Charles, Owen again preached to parliament. Here, Oliver Cromwell was present and chose Owen as his chaplain. Owen was then appointed Dean of Christ Church, Oxford, in 1651. In the following year, Owen became vice chancellor and served until 1657. As a preacher who joined Cromwell s revolution, Owen s appointment was a symbolic victory over monarchy. In other words, the new appointments to key university positions were symbolic of the wider ambitions of the Cromwellian administration. Alice s Adventures in Wonderland is well known by most people for its vivid use of the imagination. The story itself is one that promotes creativity, open mindedness and viewing the world in different perspectives. While Lewis Carroll s story captivates and inspires people of all ages, what brings a young girl s adventure to life are the illustrations behind it. The Aeronautical Telecommunication Network ( Atn ) 2.3 AERONAUTICAL TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK (ATN) : 2.3.1 Introduction In the early 1980s, the international civil aviation community started to express concern about the limitations on existing facilities and procedures, and their inability to cope with increasing air traffic in the future years. Consequently Special Committee on FANS was established to study, identify and assess new concepts and technology in the field of air navigation, including satellite technology, and also to make recommendations thereon for the development of air navigation for international civil aviation over a period of 25 years. A major result was the global Communications, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) concept which identified the use of data communications and of satellite based systems as being the two major areas of improvement to the then existing systems. The CNS/ATM concept was further developed and redefined, after which the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN) became an integral part of CNS/ATM systems. The ATN comprises application entities and communication services which allow ground, air ground and avionics data subnetworks to interoperate. Moving forward, the country adopted strategic frameworks that were to guide towards a new era devoid of discrimination. The aspect of political participation was one fundamental instrument that was subsequently integrated into the American social dynamics. Section 5 highlights that any changes in the state electoral laws, which are deemed to have the potential to disenfranchise the minority groups must first be approved by the federal agencies including the US attorney general and the US District Court for D.C. In addition, the section defines the need for the states with a significant population of minority groups to develop bilingual ballot papers to ensure that the voters make informed decisions when taking part in the electoral process. On the other hand, section 4 of the act highlights the need to adopt special coverage formulas to integrate the minority groups in the entire electoral process. In many instances, the act requires that such special coverage formulas to be cleared by the federal agencies before they can be applied. The fundamental goal of the preclearance provision is to prevent discrimination against certain groups of voters who may be deemed to antagonize the general position of their local political trends. However, this provision has since been deemed unconstitutional in the Shelby County v. Holder Case of 2013 (Fuller, 2014). Despite the perceived unconstitutionality of the two sections of the act, and the attempts to review the act to eliminate the clauses, analyses of the political dynamics indicate that the two sections are still relevant in American politics. • 32. Effects Of Juvenile Delinquency The group of people that typically falls into this idea of juvenile delinquency associated with dangerous or criminal usually points finger to individuals of a lower income class. Not all juvenile delinquents are from the lower class, but majority are; therefore, for a public s eye view of delinquent behaviors are most likely caused by those juveniles of a poor background because they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Being of lower class falls prey to the malnutrition and/or maltreatment by parents or guardians. With maltreatment and lack of positive reinforcements in discipline as it should be; their way of discipline may have been carried out as physical punishments and corrective actions for unruly behavior which in turn enhanced negative reinforcements of actions and delinquency. Children who were mistreated by physical abuse and neglected increased the likelihood risk of committing unruly behavior and actions of juvenile delinquency. There are those juvenile delinquents that are from upper class, but being within the upper class category gives them the access to have the legal means of being acquitted where those of lower class are automatically considered a criminal or scapegoat whether they have committed a crimeor not; therefore, it increases the likelihood of this individual to commit criminal activity in the future because the innocence of this individual was already lost where everyone already made the judgement that he is the guilty one based on what their status is. Between the 18th and 19th centuries, juvenile delinquency became a problematic outbreak that spread throughout England. Juvenile delinquency became such a widespread problem as a disease that affected the norms of society with its abusive and violent manner carried out by juveniles. With the increasing of undisciplined juveniles throughout the country triggered the formations of gangs from its increasing numbers of members. I felt I could relate to it because I see my boyfriend s clothes fill my closet; and although he is not missing , he is not always by my side (long distant relationship). I try very hard to keep things the same after he leaves and continue moving forward once he is gone; but it is not the same, as the poem explains. I enjoyed reading the poem even if it brought me nothing but teardrops . The author of this piece of work is a famous singer, Bruce Springsteen. He has won over 20 music awards. The Endocrinology Of Male And Female Reproduction Reproductive physiology is comprised of many tightly coordinated functions of the endocrine system including the hypothalamus, pituitary and reproductive organs whose dynamic function plays several critical roles in growth and development as well was reproduction. The hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis plays a critical role in the development and regulation of the reproductive system. These tightly regulated functions within the pituitary must respond to continuously changing signals from the central nervous system gonads and provide the quick responses. The hypothalamic pituitary gonadal axis is comprised of major hormones, including gonadotropin releasing hormone(GnRH), luteinizing hormone(LH) and follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) and operate through both positive and negative feedback loops in mammals.1 When toxicants affect any part of this axis s function, either by altering cellular activity or the signals themselves, the physiology can impacted by immediate and downstream effects. An understanding of the endocrinology of male and female reproduction, is required to understand how toxicological effects can have severe consequences on reproductive physiology.
