Citizenship Is An Outdated Notion Of The 21st Century
Citizenship is an outdated notion in the 21st century. Critically discuss this statement.
Citizenship can be defined as the position or status of being a citizen in a particular country
(Oxford Dictionaries, 2016). This definition is not very broad, nor does it cover the many aspects
of citizenship that exist in the 21st century. It is not only about being a legal citizen of a particular
country, it is also about being a social citizen. You can be a citizen of Australia but choose to live
elsewhere for the majority of your life. In terms of citizenship it is relevant on a political and
social level. If you are actively contributing to the country in which you live in some ways you are
fulfilling your duties as a citizen.
Citizenship will always be a relevant concept because when you are a citizen of a particular
country it comes with a sense of belonging. There is a feeling of pride when you become a
citizen of a country. In particular, if your family is from that country it can help to gain a sense
of community with those around you. It is important for people to feel that they are citizens of
the same country as their children. Sometimes legal citizenship changes a person s perspective
and they feel that they belong but often there is still a chance people may be excluded based on
external factors, for example, they have a different religion to the majority of a particular
community. That s why it is important for people to be social citizens as well so that they can

Explain Why Strip Mining Is Bad For The Environment
Strip mining is terrible for the earth. In the US, from 1930 to 2000, coal mining altered about 2.4
million hectares (5.9 million acres) of natural landscape, most originally forest.
That is how trees we cut down and and don t use for anything but for coal. That is how much we
are cutting down of air cleaners. Those forests also factored in wildlife for some animals that live
there. This is only one reason why strip mining is bad for the environment.
Did you know what strip mining does to forests. Instead of having nice landscapes we have flat
landes. It could be for artists or it can be for mountain climbing. We are also cutting down our fresh
air suppliers. Later in the future we will have less fresh air so we will have to make

The Effect Of Myotonic Dystrophy Kinase Related Cdc42...
Introduction/Background: Cell motility is heavily studied, mainly due to the importance of cell
motility in a living cell for normal physiological functions. 3 Phosphoinositide dependent kinase 1
(PDK1) is integral kinase that phosphorylates serine/threonine residues in activation loops of
various proteins that function in metabolism, grown, proliferation, and survival of various cells
(Fyffe et al., 2013). Located on the human chromosome 16p13.3, it is ubiquitously expressed in
human tissue, as well as other animals such as Drosophilla (Alessi et al., 1997). But PDK1
functionality is beyond just normal human cells, and has been heavily studied in directional cell
migration for both physiological and pathological processes such as wound healing and tumor
metastasis(Gagliardi et al., 2014).
Myotonic dystrophy kinase related CDC42 binding kinase О± (MRCKО±) is a Rho binding
kinase that has been shown to cause actin cytoskeleton reorganization for cell motility through
light chain phosphorylation, which is required in cell motility (Chen et al., 1999). MRCK kinases
play integral roles in actin myosin regulations by being downstream effectors of GTPase CDC42.
Activation of GTPase CDC42 and actin cytoskeleton reorganizations are both vital in cell motility,
as the conversion of GTP to GDP provide actin filament degradation, which in turn allows for the
formation of new filaments needed for movement of the cell.
The authors of this paper attempt to deduce which domains of PDK1

Christine Wilkie Stibb
Christine Wilkie Stibb s The Outside Child In And Out Of The Book examines the construction of
the child subject within a text, and contextualizes that construction by connecting to historical,
social and political events outside the text. She does this by taking real world (ie: historical, social
and political) instances and connecting them to each book. Each chapter focuses on a different
construction of the childoutsider: outsider (the child as subject and the creation of subjectivity);
displaced (refugees and asylum seekers); erased (subjecting the child s body to public gaze and
erasure of his or her identity); abject (those expelled from the hierarchies); unattached (loss of
parents and idea of home, moving from one place to another,... Show more content on

This chapter explores the stories of immigrants and refugees, or other asylum seekers. She explains
they are works of literature, not case histories, but they do more than exploit for the purposes of
entertainment the sorts of distressful situations in which some real children find themselves.
Literature at its best is what most convinces us of the realities of other people s identities and
selfhoods, so that these novels, responsibly written and attempting authenticity, act as powerful and
memorable case histories which are as true as, or truer than, factually accurate ones. (26) Upon
looking at the UNCRC mentioned above Wilkie Stibbs examines the westernized and industrialized
construction of the child and childhood that anyone under eighteen is a child, and they shall be
protected (24). However, in historical documents references, including the French Revolution s
1795 Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen, and bringing up the idea of child labor
and child soldiers, each nation has its own conception of what it is to be a child. Rachel

The Play of the Diary of Anne Frank
The Play of the Diary of Anne Frank starts out in the annex in the warehouse in Amsterdam,
Holland where Anne Frank and seven others hid out during World War II. It opens with Otto
Frank and Miep Gies standing in the annex alone in 1945. Mr. Frank had just come home from
the concentration camps, being the one survivor from the annex. After conversing for awhile,
Miep hands Mr. Frank Anne s diary from the days of living in the annex. He starts to read the
book, as it slowly flashes back to 1942 when it all began... On an early morning in July of 1942,
the Van Daans and Franks meet up for the first time at the annex. All of them are covered in layers

They have strict rules, but it s the only way to stay a secret. Towards the beginning of the play,
Peter and Anne have a teasing and kind of playful relationship. They don t totally like each other,
but they re also very different. Anne is closer to her father than anyone else, but she doesn t
really enjoy her mother. Anne and Margot are fairly close, but Anne seems pretty jealous of
Margot and her looks. Mrs. and Mr. Van Daan seem kind of rude to her. About two months after
moving in, a local Jewish dentist friend of Miep s fiance, Dirk, is in trouble. He needs a hiding
place, and fast. Mr. Kraler comes to ask if he could hide with them in the annex. After talking it
over, they decide it s the right thing to do. His name is Mr. Dussel. They arrange for him to room
with Anne and for Margot to move in with in their parents room. Mr. Dussel brings them
information from the outside. He tells them about how Jews are being pulled away from their
homes and taken off to camps. Mr. Dussel becomes a normal residence of the annex very soon.
With time he becomes more and more rude to them, and insensitive. Several months more pass, and
soon Anne begins to have terrible nightmares. She wakes Mr. Dussel very often. She dreams that
the Nazis come to take them. In the works of the nightmares, she hurts her mother s feelings by
rejecting her comfort. Anne will only talk to her father about it. It truly

A Fluid Mosaic of Color
F. Scott Fitzgerald s masterpiece, The Great Gatsby, follows the story of Jay Gatsby, a man who
personifies the American Dream. The narrator of the novel is Gatsby s neighbor, Nick
Carraway, who is connected with all the main characters and has the ability to see the good in
Gatsby. Through the focus of Nick, a man with a fairly nondescript background, a story of
corruption, illusion and desperate desire unfolds. The story takes place in the roaring twenties, a
time that emphasizes the dichotomy of society, with the previously rich and the newly rich living
a life of jubilance, while those in the valley of ashes or other areas of the like slave away their ...

Throughout the novel, Fitzgerald manages to draw the attention of the reader to miniscule details
and symbols in the text. He uses colors to communicate to the reader feelings and attitudes of the
protagonists. Color symbolism, in many ways, plays a large role in the novel. It is the most
powerful method of granting the reader insight into the personality of a character; it reveals the
hidden ideas and values. The style of symbolism that is most riddled throughout the text is the
attachment of ideas to colors. Some of the color based symbols used are vague, while some are
specific. The colors most prominently represented are the hope and purity of white, the optimism
of green, the wealth of gold and the faux wealth of yellow. In The Great Gatsby, the color white
stands for unblemished, honorable, and pure perfection. When Nick is moving in, one of the
first things he happens to notice is how Across the courtesy the white palaces of fashionable
East Egg glittered along the water... (Fitzgerald 5). The East Egg is seen as old money; it is a
lifestyle that is merely an aspiration at best. Perfection shines from across the bay, in the area
where the born rich live. It is the area that you cannot work your way into, no matter how hard you
try. Again, when Nick sees the Buchanans house up close, he describes that even The windows
were ajar and gleaming white. (Fitzgerald 13). Inside the perfect house as

Lyddie is struggling to breathe and is exhausted. This leads some to say that she must sign the
petition. However, signing the petition could get her fired which will make it almost impossible to
reunite back with her family. When talking to her roommates, Lyddie shares her own opinion on
signing the petition. When talking, her roommates mention that if you sign the petition they
wouldn t have to work longer. She says, But we d be paid less (Paterson 91). This quote shows
that signing the petition can decrease her payment which would make it even longer to reunite with
her family. When Betsy finishes reading to Lyddie they talk about what they heard lately.
Unfortunately, Lyddie has the possibility of getting blacklisted (Paterson 81). This quote shows
that if she gets fired for signing the petition she could get blacklisted, which means that no other
mills would hire her. Being blacklisted makes it difficult to reunite back with her family. It s tough

A Cold, Brittle Wind Blew The Front Door Open
The chill of a cold, brittle wind blew the front door open just as the two gentlemen and
gentlewoman approached the front walk. The men were all of a leisurely persuasion and the
young lady was a stray sort even after all this time. Time had cut through the hardness and
briskness of their demeanor. This was a grand occasion as they had been invited to dine with one
of their colleagues. The home was legend in their world and was owned by a one Nathaniel
Hawthorne, a prolific author. Hawthorne gave The Wayside the name by which it is still known.
The Wayside built in 1714 is a typical New England two story wood frame house, in Concord,
Massachusetts. Before Hawthorne bought it, the house belonged to the Alcott family, who names it
Hillside. Here, Louisa May Alcottand her sisters lived much of their childhood described in Little
Women. With that much literary history in the home, it was the perfect place to hold a dinner party.
Mr. E. A Poe, his proud and beautiful head erect, his dark eyes flashing with the elective light of
feeling and of thought, a peculiar, an inimitable blending of sweetness and hauteur in his
expression and manner, greeted his guests into the front parlor as they waited for the dinner to
commence. The gentlemen were attired in a black frockcoat with a shite shirts and black cravats,
tied somewhat loosely. There were a certain cool, stale smell about the room but this did not seem
to discern the guests. As they glided into the front room a single card

perceived health status authors Lin, Liao, Chen, Fan, (2014) explains there is a great concern
about the potential negative impact of shift work on a nurses personal health and performance,
and hence on the quality of patient care. Authors state how nurses must be able to work various
shifts in orders to provide 24 hour care for patients. In order for patients to receive the care
needed, nurses must have flexible work schedules. Shift work is the solution to provide for this
flexibility. This article also explains that twenty percent of shift workers are unable to work, at some

The authors speak about how the risk of nursing errors can endanger the safety of patient. In
addition, heavy workloads and working frequent overtime is attributed to poor sleep quality and
results in mental and physical fatigue as well. The article explains that the increased workload is
a result of hospitals cutting cost and reducing the nursing workforce, which in turn severely affect
the quality of patient care provided from nurses. The research conducted was a study with the
criteria of shift work and how it affects nurses. There target population included three shifts
rotations of nurses employed at four regional hospitals over a three month period. They observed
that 82.33% of nurses doing shift work had poor sleep quality. Results were also reviled that
reduced sleep quality among nurses led to fatigue. To improve the quality of patient care, manages
must ensure a healthier work shift schedule to increase personal health status and clinical
performance of nurses. They determined that the quality of patient care directly associated with the

The Visit At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art
Over the thanksgiving break I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met is an art museum
in New York City that has a variety of ancient artwork from different cultures and time periods.
There is paintings and sculptures from Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome and Greece. The museum is
additionally home to artwork from many different time periods including ancient Near Eastern Art,
Middle Ages and Europe during the Renaissance. The Met also has artwork from many different
religions such as Christianity and Islam. Each section in the museum had a specific artwork that
attracted my attention. On the first floor of the Met Museum is the Greek and Roman Art. The
Greek and Roman section has hundreds of art work ranging from the Neolithic period to Roman
Emperor Constantine. In the Greek and Roman section there is many portraits and sculptures
including the statue of Emperor Augustus, the statue of Aphrodite, and the Marble female figure.
The sculptures in this section range in different shapes, sizes and colors and are made with a
variety of materials. The sculptures depict emperors, Kings, Queens, Gods and Goddesses of the
time. Much of the statues in this section are missing key parts such as arms, legs and the head due
to the fact that they were damaged before being bought to the museum. The statue in this section
that caught my attention the most was the Marble Statue of Aphrodite. This is a statue of

The Steam Engine During The Industrial Revolution
Around 1750 an advancement in human productivity also known as the Industrial Revolution
began. During the Industrial Revolution the intensive use of labour in factories along side
agriculture outputs and health created a steep rise in population. With the rapid movement of
people, goods and information across the oceans and continents a truly global economy was created.
The Industrial Revolutionbegan in Britain and during this time Britain developed many different
objects. However, the steam enginewas one of the most impressive ones. In fact, the steam engine
was and still is the basis of all cars today (Kindersley, 272).
During the Industrial Revolution there were a lot of advancements in agriculture, industries, trade
and the way people lived. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The steam pump is a machine that can efficiently remove the water from inside the mines, which
derives from Edward Somerset s steam pump that he made in 1698. Thomas Savery s steam
pump boiled water until it turned into steam. Then the steam was collected in a tank, extracting
every droplet of steam so it created a vacuum. In turn, this vacuum created enough energy to
pump out water from the mines. However there were quite a few disadvantages that came with
this invention, for example the steam pump could only pump out water that was a few meters
away. Another drawback was that the pressure that the steam pump created was too much for the
boilers; therefore, there were often several explosions. The steam engine eventually became a
form of transportation through cars. The steam engine was made in 1698. During the time when
Thomas Savary invented the steam engine he received his first patent, for his work on July 2
1698, which offered him protection of his work for 14 years. In 1699 an Act of Parliament was
given to Thomas Savoury which extended his patent for 21 more years (Savery,

The Nfl s Vikings And The Minnesota Metropolitan Sports...
In 2013, the NFL s Vikings and the The Minnesota Metropolitan Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA)
agreed to construction guidelines for the new Vikings stadium. Replacing the eyesore of the Hubert
H. Humphrey Metrodome, the new stadium called for a modern design with a glass façade that
would reflect Minneapoliss downtown. While the design seemed innocuous to most, ornithologists
immediately objected to the plan: large expanses of glass would confuse migrating birds by
reflecting the sky. The birds would careen into the stadium, injuring or killing themselves. The

stadium to be constructed with less reflective, birdsafe glass. The installation... Show more content

They advocated for the installation of bird safe fritted glass, which would cost just one tenth of
one percent of the stadium s total cost to install. Additionally, they demanded the institution of a
lights out program that would aid birds by turning off stadium lights at night. Not installing bird
safe glass, they asserted, would be in violation of state guidelines that required bond funded
buildings to protect birds from window collisions. In the release, they revealed that they had
been in discussions with the MSFA since May 2013, but did not feel the need to go public until
Audubon staff were told on July 17 that there would be no change in the stadium glass choice to
protect birds. The MSFA retaliated with a public statement of their own just a day later, seeking to
diminish the issue. In the release, they contended that the design was finalized before state
guidelines for bird safety were passed or the Audubon Society raised complaints. They agreed to
the lights out program, which would not be expensive to conduct, but stated that they do not have
the budget to include the $1.1 million needed for bird safe glass. With this press release, the MSFA
sought to bring the issue to a quick conclusion, not foreseeing the public outcry that the Audubon
society would be able to generate.

Paul Mccartney s Contributions Of The Beatles
Paul McCartney was born June 18, 1942, in Liverpool, England. His contribution in the Beatles in
the 1960s helped pop music ascend from its origins in the entertainment business and morphed it
into a highly respected creative commercial art form. He also remains as one of the most
prominent solo performers of all time in terms of both recordings at his concerts and sales of his

Paul McCartney felt comfortable playing with him, later joining Lennon s band, the Quarrymen.
By the early 60s, the band had changed their name to a new nickname, The Beatles. The band
included George Harrison, Richard Starkey and Stuart Sutcliffe. These musicians soon to be
world famous started playing in Hamburg, Germany, spending a couple of years playing at
multiple pubs there. Stuart left the band early, leaving Paul to pick up the bass becoming the new
bass player. During their stay in Hamburg, the Beatles recorded their first songs, acquiring the
attention of Brian Epstein, who rapidly signed on as the Beatle s manager. Pete Best was replaced
by drummer Ringo Starr who only helped the group gain attention.
The effect that the Beatles would have on 60s music popular culture is difficult to exaggerate.
Beatlemania soon struck the world and mainstream media, and when the band made their debut in
the USA, the media mixed the period of musical crossover between the two nations the British
Invasion. However, they didn t know that this era would truly have a lasting impact on rock n roll
music.
In 1967, the band suffered a tragic loss, when their manager Brian Epstein passed away. From that
point onwards, the Beatles began to lose their unified creative focus, and all four members began
to develop their own individual ambitions. In 1969, Paul married his first wife Linda, whom he d
met in nightclub in London called The Bag O Nails.

addition to having a visible hourglass shape when viewed from above and a concave tuck of the
abdomen when viewed from the side (Case, Daristotle, Hayek, Raasch, 2011, p. 240). Skipper
leads an active life style, however, during the hunting season, Skipper s owner takes him out a few
weeks at a time where there is a greater energy expenditure compared to the rest of the year.
Throughout the year, the owner conditions Skipper for a few days out of the month to simulate the
upcoming hunting trip. At this time, the owner only supplements Skipper s caloric intake with
more energy dense treats and on occasion, an increase in protein intake. Since this is the longest
time Skipper will be working, in comparison to the other shorter hunting trips, the owner would
like to know what he can do to maintain Skipper s weight and peak performance during high levels
of intensity. Skipper comes from a hardy breed and the rest of the physical exam is unremarkable.

The Ethics Of Energy And Environment
When I was a kid,I saw a show in which a criminal investigator caught the murderer by
performing some chemical tests on a small amount of liquid left at the crime scene. What
fascinated me the most about this incident was the magical way in which answers could be found
from seemingly ordinary objects by using a few reagents. I became a regular follower of such
shows and thus began my love for Chemistry. During my undergraduate studies, I discovered that
Analytical Chemistryformed the backbone of these so called magical techniques, which further
influenced me to get a higher degree in Analytical Chemistry. Another topic that gave me inspiration
toward chemistry was sustainability of energy and environment. Being a citizen of a developing
country, I observed energy crisis and environmental pollution first hand. I want to contribute to
solve this problem by pursuing higher studies in Environmental chemistry, as it will enable me to
use my intellectual potentials for the betterment of the environment and in turn the society.
My past academic accomplishments bear a testament of my future endeavors. I achieved the GPA
of 5.00 in the scale of 5.00 in both the secondary and higher secondary studies. The desire for an
exhilarating career in the field of chemistry motivated me to apply to the department of Applied

Sweatshops In America
In last week s meeting in Canada, the Group of Eight industrial nations grappled with the question
of how to better economic conditions in poor nations. One powerful means would be to improve
the conditions of workers in sweatshops. Two billion people in the world make less than two
American dollars a day. As voters and consumers of sweatshopproducts, Americans can make a
difference in ending the miserable conditions under which these people work.
Some argue that sweatshops are simply a step up a ladder toward the next generation s success:
the garment worker at her loom is carrying out some objective law of development, or the young
girl making toys for our children is breaking out of male dominated feudalism. This line of thinking
recalls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Don t we have the consumer and political power to pressure our corporations to end sweatshop
wages paid to the people who make these goods? These workers are not demanding stock options
and Jazzercise studios. Women in Bangladesh say they could care for their children if their wages
rose to 34 cents an hour, two tenths of 1 percent of the retail price of the Harvard hat.
Some economists argue that even the most exploited and impoverished workers are better off than
those who are unemployed or trapped in slave labor. But that argument is not about offering
anyone a ladder up, but about which ring of Dante s inferno people in developing nations are
consigned to. We don t want Disney, Mattel, Wal Mart or other major American companies to
leave the developing world. We simply want to end the race to the bottom in which companies
force countries to compete in offering the lowest wages for their people s labor. There should be a
floor beneath which no one has to

Horizontal Integration Case Study
Integrated healthcare is defined as the collaborative provision of varying healthcare services
through one common system (Zon and Lam, 2014). Integration in the healthcare system can take
different forms. In this case, study, both vertical and horizontal types of integration can be seen. In
healthcare systems that make use of a horizontal integration, that is similar services are grouped
together and operate under a single unit (Hernandez, 2000). The most common horizontal
integration practices involve the geographical alliance of two or more hospitals located in the same
area. Other forms of horizontal integration practices amongst hospitals include group practices,
family health teams, regional geriatric programs, and multi hospital systems (Burns and Pauly,
2002). Horizontal integration is established with the overall goal of reducing administrative and
utility costs (Hernandez, 2000). While at the hospital, Nirit Sharma discovered that the hospital had

While Uniontown general hospital is a fully integrated system, referrals to other hospitals and

time for the appointment only to find that the specialist does not have her results. This is due to the
lack of integration between Uniontown general hospitals with the specialist s office. This

Wash (swirl and shake) the organic layer with one 10 mL portion of water and again drain the
lower aqueous layer. Transfer the organic layer to a small, dry Erlenmeyer flask by pouring it
from the top of the separatory funnel. Dry the crude t pentyl chloride over 1.01 g of anhydrous
calcium chloride until it is clear (see Technique 12, Section 12.9). Swirl the alkyl halide with the
drying agent to aid the drying.
Distillation. Transfer the clear liquid to a dry 25 mL round bottom flask using a Pasteur pipet.
Add a boiling stone and distill the crude t pentyl chloride in a dry apparatus. Collect the pure t
pentyl chloride in a receiver cooled in ice. Collect the material that boils between 78В°C and

First thing we did in this lab was to add HCl to the t pentyl alcohol. We did this because by
adding the HCl, we are creating what we wanted, t pentyl chloride. Then, due to the difference in
density, layers will form. The top layer and less dense is the organic layer, the t pentyl chloride
and the bottom layer is the aqueous layer. The purpose of shaking vigourously is to make sure
that the 2 liquids mix properly, giving us the desired product t pentyl chloride. Then we wash the
organic layer with water. T pentyl chloride is insoluble in water, so it wont be

Criticism Of Literary Criticism
I m writing this letter to show criticism analysis in text so as to employ the principles of rhetoric
which brings about the involvement of the author, content and the audience. The requirement for
rhetorical analysis will involve the plans that the author used to achieve the goal or purpose in
writing. Analysis involves the studying of something difficult in order to know its nature or the
features in it. The study helps in providing some essential information for problem solving and
making the right decisions. The requirement in rhetorical analysis is that one needs to do critical
reading so as to break down text from the main piece for analyzing(Barker, 2017).
The writing process was by inspired by the Rowling s thoughts of the intuitive approach in the
plot development and the ability to tell the narrative. Rowling s plans for the learning magic
serves as a major role in the society of the wizard world. The text credibility was based on strict
rules that governed the logics in the plot. The compelling cast of the characters was life in her
thoughts since she never failed in her imagination of the story she was meant to write. The text may
not be showing everything but there is some confidence that the author really knows everything.
The need to target specific audience is necessary for marketing purposes. A strategy for targeting
audience is by identifying the lucrative audience and finding ways to access and influence it. My
strategy would be teaching and media

Satellite Imagery Based Analysis Of Archaeological Looting
Many horrible and despicable acts have been committed during wartime. However, some of the
worst acts committed are not readily known, such as the destruction and looting of historical areas
and heritage sites. Published in Near Eastern Archaeology, an article named Satellite Imagery Based

explains how his team is using satellite imagery (along with ground reports) to track the
widespread looting across Syria. Casana is currently an Associate Professor at Dartmouth
College, in the Department of Anthropology. He is also directing a survey project in the Diyala
River Valley in Iraq. His previous engagement was as director of an excavation at Tell Qarqur in
Syria. His specialization is in the development and implementation of geospatial technology and its
use in archaeology. The combination of his boots on the ground experience in Syria, along with his
specialization makes him a perfect candidate to lead the analysis on these looting sites. There are
many reasons that I chose to review this article, the foremost being that it simply sounded
fascinating. In addition to that, I wanted to gather more information as to where, why, and to what
extent, looting was occurring. /!/

The hatred he showed toward Marty, proved all the more reason not to negotiate with him.
Marty simply lacked the proof to trust and deal with Judd. On the contrary, some people believe
Marty should have made a deal with Judd. They claim that Marty greatly desired to keep Shiloh
for his own and needed to take every chance he came upon to do that. However, this belief is
irrelevant, because while the two deeply loved each other, Shiloh rightfully belonged to Judd.
Judd bought Shiloh with his money and therefore Marty had no right to take him for his own.
Along with this, people also argue that Judd signed the deal making it firm. This argument also
remains inadequate because Marty knew virtually nothing about creating a firm deal. Judd did
indeed sign a paper bag marking the deal, however, Marty lacked a witness and trust in Judd. Judd
s signature meant nothing in causing the deal to remain strong. In fact, it instead caused much
more pain for Marty. Neither of these opposing arguments that Marty desired to keep Shiloh, and
that Judd signed a deal prove any adequate excuse for Marty to make a hasty and foolish deal with
a cruel and untrustworthy

Challenging the Norm of Womanhood in A Doll s House by...
Melissa Cruz said, You cannot be with someone just because you don t want to hurt him. You have
your own happiness to think about . Women have come a long way in their fight to make society
realize that a woman have rights. Those rights include more than being in charge of the house. Men
have come to realize that if the womanwasn t there to raise the kids then the men would be
atrocious. Family responsibility ends and Individual happiness begins when Nora challenges the
idea of what a wifeshould be, and what a mom should be, and what a woman should be.
In the doll s house at the beginning of the play we see Nora being classified as an obedient, money
loving, and childish wife. Nora and the women of the 19th century were treated a lot different of
what women now are used to now. In the doll s house Nora was supposed to Cook, Clean, take
care of the kids, etc. which she didn t do that. The marriage vows of the 19th century is different
than what we would say because The money in the 19 century is the man s money and woman
don t have no say so about it, but Nora challenges that Role of what a woman should be when
Torvald which is the man asks her what she wants for Christmas and which she replies you can

Summary Of The BookThe Guest By Albert Camus
During the mid twentieth century, Algeria was trying to gain independence from France. It was
writers like Albert Camus who gave the world of taste of what was happening in their country at
that time through literature. He used knowledge and experiences to create stories and plays that
captured Alergia and the period of war they were in. Camus dominated the mid twentieth century
intellectually and artistically. Albert Camusgrew up with a strict belief in human freedom, which is
evident through his short story The Guest.
Growing up Albert Camus did not have an ordinary life. His family was not as fortunate as other
families. He grew up poor and was raised solely by his mother due to his father dying during
World War I. He was born in French Algeria. His mother was of Spanish descent and his father
was from France (Heims). Camus never let this be a disadvantage to his career or interfere with it.
He said Poverty was never a misfortune for me: it was radiant with light. Even my revolts were
brilliant with sunshine. They were almost always....revolts for everyone, so that life might be lifted
into that light (Heims). He used this through his career and it shows through his works.
During his life, Algeria was at war. Camus was torn apart personally and intellectually by this
war. He was from Spanish and French descent, however he grew up in Algeria (Taylor). At this
time it was still a French colony and Algeria was part of France for over a hundred years. Muslims

Synopsis Of The King Of The Flies
It s another one of Aber Hael s main attractions. People come from all over for our wares, but

The king pointed out his knights skirting the edge of the crowds. As you can see, I make sure lots

weather when people have too much to drink, things can get rowdy. That s where our men come in.
Audra and Carlton walked from stall to stall and examined the wares without much fanfare. Audra

CYBR 610 T301 Risk Management Studies (2171 1)
Professor Steven Maestas October 17, 2016
Case Study Draft2 Abstract A case study is a situation of events that involves a real or
hypothetical scenario that includes real life problems if ever one to occur. Case studies are one
of the most beneficial problem solving techniques a business can invest in because they can help
improve decision making and help to identity flaws in current systems. Analyzing case studies
requires critical thinking and knowledge of the subject in order to predict the outcome. For any
business to learn from a case study the best practice is to be put in a situation, but to understand
the value acting it out as if it s really happening is where it is effective. The case study The
Olympics and the risks that comes with it below details the issues of risk and how critical thinking,
knowledge and patience can apply to mitigate threats that can have significant impact.

These areas should be noted and monitored by industry practitioners during all stages of the
construction process. The most common contributing factors in claims were increase in scope of
the work, weather, restricted access, and acceleration. Categories of claims that were mentioned in
the largest number of claims were site overhead, loss of productivity, loss of revenue, and financing
costs. Contract clauses that were quoted in the claims were most commonly in the areas of delays,
scheduling, and increase in the scope of work. The special consideration should be given to
contract clauses dealing with changes/extras, disputes, soil/site conditions, and delay. The essential
steps an owner can take to minimize risks and deal with the identified causes are to allow
reasonable time for the design team to produce clear and complete drawings and specifications, to
use value engineering and implement constructability during the different stages of the project, to

I Like Older Cars Essay
I like older cars. Cars are one of the coolest things that were every made in my opinion. I think
that cars that are older than 1990 are better than the cars that are 1991 and newer because they are
easier to work on, they also look better, and sound better but the newer cars get better gas millage,
and are safer.
I have worked on my different new and old cars, but I think that the older cars are easier to work
on. They are easier to because they don t have all the technology that the newer cars have. For
example my dad s 1984 Chevy Truck doesn t have all the things that a 2018 truck has on it. For
example, newer car is electronica and my dad s truck has cables that make the carburetor work.
There are also a lot different things that make it easier to work on older cars over newer cars. For

I am going to be telling about the old car first. This one day I was just sitting at home when I
decided to work on my uncles 1979 ford pickup truck because he was having trouble with it so I
told him, I can look at it one day after school if you want me to because I have nothing else to do
besides homework . He said back to me that is fine because I have to work every night this week
so just try and find out what is wrong with it. Every night that week I look at his truck try to find
out what was wrong with it. When he got off work on Wednesday, he took the motor out for me to
go through after school. When I got home from school, I got big glass of tasteful Arizona tee. It
turned out that his piston was broke. He decided that he would just try and find a used piston that is
good just to get his truck running

The Characteristics Of My Virtual Child In My Virtual Child
With what I have learned from My Virtual Life, I now understand the complexities of raising
and guiding a child. Mere decisions made during infancy can affect a child s long term
physically, cognitively, and emotionally. To make important developmental decisions simply be
classified as a challenge, it is one of the hardest things parents experience. Making decisions for
one s self, opposed to making decisions to one s child is so challenging that most people will not
understand until they have kids themselves. My virtual child covers physical, social, emotional,
and cognitive development at several age levels. This gave me an opportunity to visualize the
whole child at various points in development. I raised a virtual child from birth to 18 years of
age. Each virtual child has a unique set of characteristics at birth, some of which were influenced
by how I answered the assessment I completed when I first logged onto My Virtual Child. These
characteristics gradually emerged and affected his behavior and development. In the virtual child
program I completed I gave birth to a healthy baby girl by the name of Shanti. I chose the name
Shanti because of the meaning. The meaning of Shanti in Hindi means peace, and bliss. When
Shanti was at about six years old, I gave birth to another baby girl and I named her Angeli meaning,
angel. During this whole experience, I was married and there was never any change in our marital
status while raising our virtual children. Throughout My

Comparing Riddle 65 And The Dream Of The Rood
Part 4: Short Answer 1, Riddle 65 and The Dream of the Rood Excerpt One from The Exeter
Book speaks volumes to the themes and interests of Anglo Saxons. Religion was a common
theme throughout forms of entertainment, literacy and education were less common and riddles
were easier to remember. Riddles were a more lighthearted approach to religion, while still
upholding the values and importance of such. An example can be found in the second stanza of
Riddle 65 , It speaks without mouth, moves without feet. Saying, I am now teacher of men,
Preacher to many on middle earth . The idea that religion did not have to be presented through
fear carried over to other works from Anglo Saxon texts. The Dream of the Rood, is a poem in

Jesus must die here for any belief in his holy power and his resulting miracle. Even in a biblical
tale however, there can be a heroic twist. The description gives us the impression that he is far
from being defeated and in the final scene, Jesus s wounding by the spear, In his holy blood...the
cross is consecrated. (Rood) With his death, the Rood has grown even stronger in veneration and
is finally allowed to wilt in sorrow. An array of warriors come to weep over his lifeless body, but
only the rood can see that he is not really dead. His followers were faithful and loyal to him. The
narrator reiterates Jesus s heroism on many occasions, in one particular scene he describes Jesus
s demeanor as he accepts the cross. The author stated, Climbed on the high gallows, bold in the
sight of many, when he would free mankind (Rood 27). He willingly accepts his struggle on the
rood, in doing so the poet describes Jesus as a warrior , strong , and stouthearted . Jesus was not
represented as a modest man resigned to his duty as savior of men, he was envisioned more so as a
gallant hero. The anonymous author used a dream to portray his view of Jesus to awe his audience.
He wanted to gain their attention through the glory of what Christianity is. The angle that which the
dream poem was told from had not been taken before. The personification of the cross added
intrigue and allowed the story to become a hero s tale. The belief that good deeds will be rewarded
through faith still exists, it was just presented through an epic

Lexi Freund Interview Paper
On September 6th, 2017th, I had the opportunity to interview Lexi Freund. We were able to meet
up outside of room 2157 in Pearson Hall. Lexi was born to her parents Matt and Dawn in
Omaha, Nebraska on October 14th, 1998. She is the oldest sibling out of three. Her younger sister
who is seventeen years old is named Heather and her twelve years old brother is named Dan. As a
family, they live in Louis, Iowa which is near Atlantic, where she attended high school.
Lexi had the advantage of growing up on a farm throughout her entire childhood. Here they had a
beef cow operation while also growing crops such as corn and soybeans. Her favorite part about
the farm were the cows. She has been proudly crowned the Cass county beef queen. This

The Growth of Japenese Anime
Anime was created by Japan, in the year 1917, which introduced a new, entertaining and exciting
commodity for the Japanese community to experience and witness. Japan had finally experienced
its very own cartoons, which would indulge the Japanese culture that every Japanese citizen is
proud of and admires. However, the early years of Animewasn t its most successful, in fact it was
by far its worst. Anime could not keep up with the Western cartoons, to the extent that even the
Japanese would prefer Western cartoons over Anime. This proposed a tremendous problem for
Anime industries, and action needed to be taken for Anime to be on the map. The industry was
facing competition from legendary shows such as Batman, Superman, and Disney s very own
Mickey Mouse. The hype and passion around those Western shows was so extreme to the extent
that no one can compete. But, if you can t beat them, join them. Anime started incorporating those
Western features into their very own animations, the characteristics, the plot, the landscape, and the
animation, basically everything that helped, was taken and mixed within the old and unwanted
Japanese Animations. This caused the massive explosion of Anime popularity in the late 1960 s,
as Anime no longer only represented a culture that the Japanese already know, and the West aren t
interested in, but has now introduced a new era of ingenuity and brilliance. So what caused Anime
to change over the years, and suddenly blossom in the 1960 s? How

Why Std Should Be Allowed In Schools
When a child is growing up, they go through many changes. When they go through these changes in
their early life, they expect to be guided or to be helped by their parents. Before the child attend
school, and is introduced to another environment, they have already grown a high sense of
understanding within their parents. This means, they are very comfortable with approaching them
with difficulties he/she face throughout life or even personal information he/she need to be
informed about. This sense of trust, understanding, and security carries with the child all through
his/her life. So, even when he/she is attending school, there are certain things the parent s child will
come to them about instead of any teachers or any other supervision... Show more content on

As in STDs, they teach the children different types of sexually transmitted disease, how they
occur, their symptoms, and the image of the disease. The only problem with that is they do not
explain the chance of risks engaging in sexual activities. They do not provide the students with the
fact that one in four sexually transmitted disease cases diagnosed each year involves teenagers. As
for pregnancies, they do discuss the risk of becoming pregnant. But, they do not discuss what
affect a pregnancy at such a young age could bring. Or even, how much of a life changing situation
it is.
On the other hand, many believe sex education should be a high priority in schools. Their beliefs
leads them to think the effectiveness of this material being taught in schools could reduce teen
pregnancies, the rate of STDs, and also would not increase sexual activity. To support, there are
more than 135 non profit organizations whose common goal is to provide sex education to the
young. Researchers believe that the sex education taught in schools could reduce the amount of sex
partners, delay student s first time, and also increase protection by increasing the use of

Summary Of The Lost Honor Of Katharina Blum
Societal status and a woman s obligations play a role key role in the oppression of society and the
police during the 1970s in Germany. The interactive oral presentation discussed the responsibilities
as a housewife and limitations that were imposed on German women by the public. The discussion
allowed me to understand the crucial role each of the characters in the novel The Lost Honor of
Katharina Blum played which facilitates the author to express the satirical notion of the press and
the inequitable roles people played in German society. A womans worth is only manifested by how
she devotes her life to her family and marriage. Although women gained the right to vote in 1919,
women were still suppressed in a patriarchal society, where men

Asian Culture and Healthcare
I have found the Asian culture on heal care to be very interesting. It is not just about too many
white body blood cells in your blood stream. It is more about balance. They believe the mind and
body working together, in harmony and a balanced state. They use a practice called Ying and yang
which is hot and cold. The use of natural plants for treatment of illness is common practice in Asian
culture. Good nutrition plays a big part is their health. A diet mostly fish and vegetables is the
healthy choice in their culture. Some of the practices for therapy include acupuncture, and coin
rolling. The belief that anything is excess is bad and is one of the ways the Asian culture remain
balanced and healthy. Acupuncture focuses on points on the body to activate natural healing and
to balance the body. The practice of acupuncture covers 306 fixed points of the body. The
practitioner uses nine needles placed in specific point on the body to release yin (cold) or yang
(heat) and create a balance between the two. The treatment can range from cancer, arthritis, or the
common cold but, is mainly used for treatment of pain relief. There is also qiand chi which is the
flow of energy throughout the body which is something like yin and yangit is all about a balance in
the body for healing and good health. Too much on one will create an unbalance in the energy flow
in the body and will require treatment of the use of yin and yang principles.
Another practice in medicine in

#2 What is your assessment of the Texas Gulf Sulphur press release of April 12?
My assessment on the Texas Gulf Sulphur press release of April 12 was that due to the rumors
that a major ore strike is I the making, and the unauthorized report being published, there was an
actual press release. In my opinion, if it wasn t because of all the rumors Stephens, Fogarty, and
Huntington wouldn t have agreed to have a press release, which was only held to stop the rumors
and give false information to the world on their discovery.

My Grandpa Research Paper
As my grandfather looked out into the dread filled ocean, it was then that he realised there was
no going back. Once he stepped foot onto that aircraft carrier he felt worried and feared he would
not come back. This was the only thing that my grandpa ever told me about his past in the Korean
War. However, it also got me intrigued in the United StatesArmed Forces. As he passed away, I just
wished I would have asked him about the stories he must of had about the warand friends he met
there. I was scared he would agonize about the traumas he had. After his death, we went through
photo books of him and founds photos of him on the U.S.S Hancock. Seeing those pictures of him
as a Gunner Mate sparked an interest in the military and what it had to offer.
My grandpa, (J.W. Croney), was an excellent man and has given me much insight of what to
become in the future. He was the one who gave me goals, but also gave me rules. He always
wanted for his grandkids to do the best we could even if he could not express that. He is a prime
example of someone I want to be when I grow older. He is my role model. He was a leader and
everyone in my family looked up to even if you did not know him. He made me understand who I
want to be in life and what I want to do after high school. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Indian Removal Act Of 1830
Indian Removal Act of 1830 The Indian Removal Act was signed into law on May 28th 1930
during the presidency of Andrew Jackson. Perhaps best known as the black eye of the
administration and overshadowing his presidency s accomplishments, the Indian Removal Act
was passed into law to allow the president to negotiate with Indians to purchase land they
occupied and offer them lands west of the Mississippi. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 could
also amount to pure greed and racism, the beginning of the arrogance of Americans in the belief
that we deserve to take something just because we want it. Expansion By the early 1800 s with the
Constitution firmly in place and the economy recovering, the population was growing. The settlers
desire to expand further West and south met many hazards, the largest of which being the Native
Americans that occupied those lands. Settlers were eager to raise large cotton and tobacco
plantations and Native Americans were seen as an obstacle. The Indian Removal Act was the
result of the settlers petitioning the government for more land and protection from the Savage
Indians to the south and west in present day Mississippi and Alabama although there were few
unprovoked attacks at the time. The need for land to grow more cash crops was all consuming. An
argument could be made that President Jackson held a personal grudge against the Natives,
According to Parins, J.W. and Littlefield, D.F. (2011) He entered the presidency with a single

Dante s Inferno And Beowulf Analysis
Importance of Name and Remember in Dante s Inferno and Beowulf
One of the important themes that stands out in Dante s epic poem, Inferno , is a theme of legacy
via endurance of one s name. In other words, the human need to have one s name and story shared
with others in an effort to gain some sense of immortality. Even from the depths of hell the
characters in the Inferno express a wish to have their stories told. The Inferno tells of Dante s
adventure through the depths of Hell with the spirit of the great Roman poet Virgilas his guide. In
this epic adventure, Dante treks the Nine Circles of Hell and in each circle he encounters
prominent figures in both his personal life and in history. The poem as a whole is a commentary
on sins and transgressions, but the significance of these transgressions are amplified with the
attachment of names we the readers recognize from history and literature. Among them are
figures one would expect to be Hell for their famous transgressions such as Judas Iscariot, Attila
the Hun and Brutus but also more surprisingly Ulysses, the hero from Homer s Iliad and Odyssey,
who is in the Eighth Circle of Hell for the crime of spiritual theft and Pope Celestine V, whom
Dante condemns for abdicating the papacy and thus allowed Pope Boniface VIII to become the new
pope. This was a transgression worthy of hell in Dante s eyes because historically Pope Boniface
VIII was something of a rival to Dante, who had been an advocate for the separation of

  • 2. Citizenship Is An Outdated Notion Of The 21st Century Citizenship is an outdated notion in the 21st century. Critically discuss this statement. Citizenship can be defined as the position or status of being a citizen in a particular country (Oxford Dictionaries, 2016). This definition is not very broad, nor does it cover the many aspects of citizenship that exist in the 21st century. It is not only about being a legal citizen of a particular country, it is also about being a social citizen. You can be a citizen of Australia but choose to live elsewhere for the majority of your life. In terms of citizenship it is relevant on a political and social level. If you are actively contributing to the country in which you live in some ways you are fulfilling your duties as a citizen. Citizenship will always be a relevant concept because when you are a citizen of a particular country it comes with a sense of belonging. There is a feeling of pride when you become a citizen of a country. In particular, if your family is from that country it can help to gain a sense of community with those around you. It is important for people to feel that they are citizens of the same country as their children. Sometimes legal citizenship changes a person s perspective and they feel that they belong but often there is still a chance people may be excluded based on external factors, for example, they have a different religion to the majority of a particular community. That s why it is important for people to be social citizens as well so that they can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Explain Why Strip Mining Is Bad For The Environment Strip mining is terrible for the earth. In the US, from 1930 to 2000, coal mining altered about 2.4 million hectares (5.9 million acres) of natural landscape, most originally forest. That is how trees we cut down and and don t use for anything but for coal. That is how much we are cutting down of air cleaners. Those forests also factored in wildlife for some animals that live there. This is only one reason why strip mining is bad for the environment. Did you know what strip mining does to forests. Instead of having nice landscapes we have flat landes. It could be for artists or it can be for mountain climbing. We are also cutting down our fresh air suppliers. Later in the future we will have less fresh air so we will have to make ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Effect Of Myotonic Dystrophy Kinase Related Cdc42... Introduction/Background: Cell motility is heavily studied, mainly due to the importance of cell motility in a living cell for normal physiological functions. 3 Phosphoinositide dependent kinase 1 (PDK1) is integral kinase that phosphorylates serine/threonine residues in activation loops of various proteins that function in metabolism, grown, proliferation, and survival of various cells (Fyffe et al., 2013). Located on the human chromosome 16p13.3, it is ubiquitously expressed in human tissue, as well as other animals such as Drosophilla (Alessi et al., 1997). But PDK1 functionality is beyond just normal human cells, and has been heavily studied in directional cell migration for both physiological and pathological processes such as wound healing and tumor metastasis(Gagliardi et al., 2014). Myotonic dystrophy kinase related CDC42 binding kinase О± (MRCKО±) is a Rho binding kinase that has been shown to cause actin cytoskeleton reorganization for cell motility through light chain phosphorylation, which is required in cell motility (Chen et al., 1999). MRCK kinases play integral roles in actin myosin regulations by being downstream effectors of GTPase CDC42. Activation of GTPase CDC42 and actin cytoskeleton reorganizations are both vital in cell motility, as the conversion of GTP to GDP provide actin filament degradation, which in turn allows for the formation of new filaments needed for movement of the cell. The authors of this paper attempt to deduce which domains of PDK1 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Christine Wilkie Stibb Christine Wilkie Stibb s The Outside Child In And Out Of The Book examines the construction of the child subject within a text, and contextualizes that construction by connecting to historical, social and political events outside the text. She does this by taking real world (ie: historical, social and political) instances and connecting them to each book. Each chapter focuses on a different construction of the childoutsider: outsider (the child as subject and the creation of subjectivity); displaced (refugees and asylum seekers); erased (subjecting the child s body to public gaze and erasure of his or her identity); abject (those expelled from the hierarchies); unattached (loss of parents and idea of home, moving from one place to another,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This chapter explores the stories of immigrants and refugees, or other asylum seekers. She explains they are works of literature, not case histories, but they do more than exploit for the purposes of entertainment the sorts of distressful situations in which some real children find themselves. Literature at its best is what most convinces us of the realities of other people s identities and selfhoods, so that these novels, responsibly written and attempting authenticity, act as powerful and memorable case histories which are as true as, or truer than, factually accurate ones. (26) Upon looking at the UNCRC mentioned above Wilkie Stibbs examines the westernized and industrialized construction of the child and childhood that anyone under eighteen is a child, and they shall be protected (24). However, in historical documents references, including the French Revolution s 1795 Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen, and bringing up the idea of child labor and child soldiers, each nation has its own conception of what it is to be a child. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the novel, Fitzgerald manages to draw the attention of the reader to miniscule details and symbols in the text. He uses colors to communicate to the reader feelings and attitudes of the protagonists. Color symbolism, in many ways, plays a large role in the novel. It is the most powerful method of granting the reader insight into the personality of a character; it reveals the hidden ideas and values. The style of symbolism that is most riddled throughout the text is the attachment of ideas to colors. Some of the color based symbols used are vague, while some are specific. The colors most prominently represented are the hope and purity of white, the optimism of green, the wealth of gold and the faux wealth of yellow. In The Great Gatsby, the color white stands for unblemished, honorable, and pure perfection. The men were all of a leisurely persuasion and the young lady was a stray sort even after all this time. Time had cut through the hardness and briskness of their demeanor. Hawthorne gave The Wayside the name by which it is still known. The Wayside built in 1714 is a typical New England two story wood frame house, in Concord, Massachusetts. Before Hawthorne bought it, the house belonged to the Alcott family, who names it Hillside. Here, Louisa May Alcottand her sisters lived much of their childhood described in Little Women. With that much literary history in the home, it was the perfect place to hold a dinner party. Mr. E. According to Mohar (2007), union were initially started in great Britain in 1780 when workers united against the Combination Act implemented by the then Prime Minister William Pitt but they did not succeed and faced even more bitter laws like The Gagging Act (1817), Six Acts etc. Relief was started with the introduction of the Master and Servant Act (1867), the trade union act (1871), Conspiracy and property act of (1875), The Employer s Liability Act (1880). However the unions got their real strength in 1913 after the implementation of Trade Union Act which gave the unions the right to have its subscriptions into a political and a social fund. The trend of unionism in Britain afterwards expanded to USA. Reynolds ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The steam pump is a machine that can efficiently remove the water from inside the mines, which derives from Edward Somerset s steam pump that he made in 1698. Thomas Savery s steam pump boiled water until it turned into steam. Then the steam was collected in a tank, extracting every droplet of steam so it created a vacuum. In turn, this vacuum created enough energy to pump out water from the mines. However there were quite a few disadvantages that came with this invention, for example the steam pump could only pump out water that was a few meters away. Another drawback was that the pressure that the steam pump created was too much for the boilers; therefore, there were often several explosions. The steam engine eventually became a form of transportation through cars. The steam engine was made in 1698. During the time when Thomas Savary invented the steam engine he received his first patent, for his work on July 2 1698, which offered him protection of his work for 14 years. In 1699 an Act of Parliament was given to Thomas Savoury which extended his patent for 21 more years (Savery, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 2013, the NFL s Vikings and the The Minnesota Metropolitan Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) agreed to construction guidelines for the new Vikings stadium. Replacing the eyesore of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, the new stadium called for a modern design with a glass faГ§ade that would reflect Minneapoliss downtown. While the design seemed innocuous to most, ornithologists immediately objected to the plan: large expanses of glass would confuse migrating birds by reflecting the sky. Additionally, they demanded the institution of a lights out program that would aid birds by turning off stadium lights at night. Not installing bird safe glass, they asserted, would be in violation of state guidelines that required bond funded buildings to protect birds from window collisions. In the release, they revealed that they had been in discussions with the MSFA since May 2013, but did not feel the need to go public until Audubon staff were told on July 17 that there would be no change in the stadium glass choice to protect birds. The MSFA retaliated with a public statement of their own just a day later, seeking to diminish the issue. In the release, they contended that the design was finalized before state guidelines for bird safety were passed or the Audubon Society raised complaints. They agreed to the lights out program, which would not be expensive to conduct, but stated that they do not have the budget to include the $1.1 million needed for bird safe glass. Criticism Of Literary Criticism I m writing this letter to show criticism analysis in text so as to employ the principles of rhetoric which brings about the involvement of the author, content and the audience. The requirement for rhetorical analysis will involve the plans that the author used to achieve the goal or purpose in writing. Analysis involves the studying of something difficult in order to know its nature or the features in it. The study helps in providing some essential information for problem solving and making the right decisions. The requirement in rhetorical analysis is that one needs to do critical reading so as to break down text from the main piece for analyzing(Barker, 2017). Women have come a long way in their fight to make society realize that a woman have rights. Those rights include more than being in charge of the house. Men have come to realize that if the womanwasn t there to raise the kids then the men would be atrocious. Family responsibility ends and Individual happiness begins when Nora challenges the idea of what a wifeshould be, and what a mom should be, and what a woman should be. She admired a sun catcher of a beautifully detailed red dragon flying above the clouds over a rushing river, Hael River, she assumed. A robust, white haired woman, the stall s merchant, approached. That s one of my favorites. Isn t that beautiful? Yes, I love it. Do you make these? Audra turned the sun catcher that hung from a hook so it would better reflect the light. I m proud to say the work s all mine. Can I interest you In that instant, Carlton turned around and the old woman clearly recognized him right away and could not speak. She curtseyed low immediately. • 41. I Like Older Cars Essay I like older cars. Cars are one of the coolest things that were every made in my opinion. I think that cars that are older than 1990 are better than the cars that are 1991 and newer because they are easier to work on, they also look better, and sound better but the newer cars get better gas millage, and are safer. I have worked on my different new and old cars, but I think that the older cars are easier to work on. They are easier to because they don t have all the technology that the newer cars have. For example my dad s 1984 Chevy Truck doesn t have all the things that a 2018 truck has on it. For example, newer car is electronica and my dad s truck has cables that make the carburetor work. There are also a lot different things that make it easier to work on older cars over newer cars. Mere decisions made during infancy can affect a child s long term physically, cognitively, and emotionally. To make important developmental decisions simply be classified as a challenge, it is one of the hardest things parents experience. Making decisions for one s self, opposed to making decisions to one s child is so challenging that most people will not understand until they have kids themselves. My virtual child covers physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development at several age levels. This gave me an opportunity to visualize the whole child at various points in development. I raised a virtual child from birth to 18 years of age. Each virtual child has a unique set of characteristics at birth, some of which were influenced by how I answered the assessment I completed when I first logged onto My Virtual Child. These characteristics gradually emerged and affected his behavior and development. In the virtual child program I completed I gave birth to a healthy baby girl by the name of Shanti. I chose the name Shanti because of the meaning. The meaning of Shanti in Hindi means peace, and bliss. When Shanti was at about six years old, I gave birth to another baby girl and I named her Angeli meaning, angel. The description gives us the impression that he is far from being defeated and in the final scene, Jesus s wounding by the spear, In his holy blood...the cross is consecrated. (Rood) With his death, the Rood has grown even stronger in veneration and is finally allowed to wilt in sorrow. An array of warriors come to weep over his lifeless body, but only the rood can see that he is not really dead. His followers were faithful and loyal to him. The narrator reiterates Jesus s heroism on many occasions, in one particular scene he describes Jesus s demeanor as he accepts the cross. The author stated, Climbed on the high gallows, bold in the sight of many, when he would free mankind (Rood 27). He willingly accepts his struggle on the rood, in doing so the poet describes Jesus as a warrior , strong , and stouthearted . Jesus was not represented as a modest man resigned to his duty as savior of men, he was envisioned more so as a gallant hero. The anonymous author used a dream to portray his view of Jesus to awe his audience. He wanted to gain their attention through the glory of what Christianity is. The angle that which the dream poem was told from had not been taken before. The personification of the cross added intrigue and allowed the story to become a hero s tale. • 45. The Growth of Japenese Anime Anime was created by Japan, in the year 1917, which introduced a new, entertaining and exciting commodity for the Japanese community to experience and witness. Japan had finally experienced its very own cartoons, which would indulge the Japanese culture that every Japanese citizen is proud of and admires. However, the early years of Animewasn t its most successful, in fact it was by far its worst. Anime could not keep up with the Western cartoons, to the extent that even the Japanese would prefer Western cartoons over Anime. This proposed a tremendous problem for Anime industries, and action needed to be taken for Anime to be on the map. The industry was facing competition from legendary shows such as Batman, Superman, and Disney s very own Mickey Mouse. The hype and passion around those Western shows was so extreme to the extent that no one can compete. But, if you can t beat them, join them. Anime started incorporating those Western features into their very own animations, the characteristics, the plot, the landscape, and the animation, basically everything that helped, was taken and mixed within the old and unwanted Japanese Animations. This caused the massive explosion of Anime popularity in the late 1960 s, as Anime no longer only represented a culture that the Japanese already know, and the West aren t interested in, but has now introduced a new era of ingenuity and brilliance. So what caused Anime to change over the years, and suddenly blossom in the 1960 s? How ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is more about balance. They believe the mind and body working together, in harmony and a balanced state. They use a practice called Ying and yang which is hot and cold. The use of natural plants for treatment of illness is common practice in Asian culture. Good nutrition plays a big part is their health. A diet mostly fish and vegetables is the healthy choice in their culture. Some of the practices for therapy include acupuncture, and coin rolling. Acupuncture focuses on points on the body to activate natural healing and to balance the body. The practice of acupuncture covers 306 fixed points of the body. The practitioner uses nine needles placed in specific point on the body to release yin (cold) or yang (heat) and create a balance between the two. The treatment can range from cancer, arthritis, or the common cold but, is mainly used for treatment of pain relief. There is also qiand chi which is the flow of energy throughout the body which is something like yin and yangit is all about a balance in the body for healing and good health. • 51. Indian Removal Act Of 1830 Indian Removal Act of 1830 The Indian Removal Act was signed into law on May 28th 1930 during the presidency of Andrew Jackson. Perhaps best known as the black eye of the administration and overshadowing his presidency s accomplishments, the Indian Removal Act was passed into law to allow the president to negotiate with Indians to purchase land they occupied and offer them lands west of the Mississippi. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 could also amount to pure greed and racism, the beginning of the arrogance of Americans in the belief that we deserve to take something just because we want it. Expansion By the early 1800 s with the Constitution firmly in place and the economy recovering, the population was growing. The settlers desire to expand further West and south met many hazards, the largest of which being the Native Americans that occupied those lands. Settlers were eager to raise large cotton and tobacco plantations and Native Americans were seen as an obstacle. The Indian Removal Act was the result of the settlers petitioning the government for more land and protection from the Savage Indians to the south and west in present day Mississippi and Alabama although there were few unprovoked attacks at the time. The need for land to grow more cash crops was all consuming. An argument could be made that President Jackson held a personal grudge against the Natives, According to Parins, J.W. and Littlefield, D.F. (2011) He entered the presidency with a single minded ... Dante s Inferno And Beowulf Analysis Importance of Name and Remember in Dante s Inferno and Beowulf One of the important themes that stands out in Dante s epic poem, Inferno , is a theme of legacy via endurance of one s name. In other words, the human need to have one s name and story shared with others in an effort to gain some sense of immortality. Even from the depths of hell the characters in the Inferno express a wish to have their stories told. The Inferno tells of Dante s adventure through the depths of Hell with the spirit of the great Roman poet Virgilas his guide. In this epic adventure, Dante treks the Nine Circles of Hell and in each circle he encounters prominent figures in both his personal life and in history. The poem as a whole is a commentary on sins and transgressions, but the significance of these transgressions are amplified with the attachment of names we the readers recognize from history and literature. Among them are figures one would expect to be Hell for their famous transgressions such as Judas Iscariot, Attila the Hun and Brutus but also more surprisingly Ulysses, the hero from Homer s Iliad and Odyssey, who is in the Eighth Circle of Hell for the crime of spiritual theft and Pope Celestine V, whom Dante condemns for abdicating the papacy and thus allowed Pope Boniface VIII to become the new pope. This was a transgression worthy of hell in Dante s eyes because historically Pope Boniface VIII was something of a rival to Dante, who had been an advocate for the separation of ...
