The point of view of OMD about the biggest trends of CES 2021.
Robotics, Mixed Reality, Smart Home, Health Care and Home Entertainment Explained by our talents.
3. Who knows if when Collodi in
1883 wrote the first episode of
Pinocchio (to pay off gambling
debts) he already had in mind a
future, 150 years from now,
made of robotics in everyday
life?

LG has used Reah Keem, a virtual
influencer, composer and DJ with
almost 8k follower on IG to launch its
CLOi robot. It uses UV lamps to protect
against infectants. These CLOi robots
go around high traffic areas and use UV
lights to help reduce exposure to
harmful germs.

Moxie promises to teach children a
certain degree of emotional intelligence
and perhaps replace their imaginary
friend and nanny, telling stories,
chatting or commenting on events such
as a visit to the dentist, thanks to an
app controlled by parents.
6. 6
Working always more from home can
cause a mental stress due to dilated
timetables. So Moley Kitchen Chef, a
couple of robotic arms that cook meals
from scratch – about 5,000 recipes –
and clean up afterwards, represent the
best solution to save time for yourself.
8. A great new technological leap is
here. The outside world enters
our house and mixed reality and
AI set the basis for innovation in
entertainment, WFO, education
and caring.
This big change is happening and
it is happening very soon.

9. ThinkReality A3 Smart Glasses
produced by Lenovo can be used for
different applications like 3D
visualization and augmented reality
guided workflows at a time when the
world is looking to adopt new
technologies for smart collaboration.
Lenovo Smart glasses can show up
to five virtual displays.
10. Mojo Lens are augmented
reality smart contact lens.
This device projects
information such as images
to provide directions,
videos for training, and
smartphone texts.
11. 11
The project allows to glimpse
the possibilities of virtual
reality for collaboration
between artistic creators.
No need to be in the same
room, studio or film set to work
on the same project.
A way to continue the
production of music and
performances, even thousands
of miles away from producers,
collaborators and fans.
Sony Boundless, a
campaign launched during
CES 2021, to highlight the
way Sony and its creators
bring together technology
and entertainment.
12. 12
We already had sensors with
accelerometers that check if an
elderly person has a sudden fall
but now AltumView offers
Sentinare, a system of cameras
and algorithms that allow not only
to identify the lonely person in the
house through facial recognition
and warn in case of need those in
charge via smartphone, but also to
evaluate physical activity and
especially night movements.
14. Smart home appliances have been
considered futuristic and complicated
for a long time. However, with the
recent health emergency, homes have
become our everything: our offices,
our schools, our gyms, and so forth.
Technology is now key to make our
home experiences as immersive and
engaging as possible. These products
try to bring the “outside” “inside” our
homes.

Need an office chair, but looking
for something a bit flashy now
that their office chair is also home
furniture? You might want to take
a look at X-Chair’s X-HMT. As well
as being ergonomically designed
to provide excellent support, it
has built-in heating and
massaging functions to keep you
warm and relaxed as you work.
16. 16
Because we’ll all be so busy working
and studying from home we won’t get
any housework done, Samsung
showed off the Bot Handy, able to
recognize and pick up objects of
different sizes, shapes and weights,
effectively becoming an extension of
the user through advanced AI.
17. 17
Inspired by the practice of Japanese forest bathing, Kohler's square
Stillness Bath creates a spa-like experience at home. Water fills
from the bottom of the bath and overflows into a Hinoki wood moat.
The tub is surrounded by lighting, and the user can choose to
envelop the surface of the bath with fog and add essential oils for
aromatherapy, all controlled via an app and the user's voice.

intelligent and integrated
systems that personalize
patient monitoring through
aggregated data displayed
in real time.

Samsung 1DROP lets check your
blood status (uric acid, glucose,
haemoglobin, cholesterol).
Just place a drop on 1DROP kit.
The sensor inserted in the special case
of your smartphone will display the
result in a few seconds, ready to be
communicate to your doctor.

Danish MiiSkin APP lets spot skin
cancer early thanks to smartphone
camera resolution as a precious ally.
It uses machine learning, computer
vision and augmented reality to make
skin exams easy to conduct and analyse
from the comfort of your own home.
22. 22
iSyncWave works with a
mobile app connected to the
iMediSync cloud platform.
Users can quickly share
their data with doctors and
mental health professionals.
iSyncWave is a korean
helmet combining
electroencephalogram
with artificial intelligence.
It promises to highlight
first signs of neurological
diseases that can develop
into dementia (Parkinson
or Alzheimer).
24. It’s the right moment for
hacking the dimensions of
entertainment. Manufacturers
accelerated the will to push
its boundaries: focusing
today on hometerteinment,
but also considering a future
when we’ll be free to leave
our daily four walls.

Watching TV is about to get a whole lot more comfortable thanks to LG. Its new concept
TV rolls out from the foot of your bed and is 40% transparent. It can also work as a smart
home device, displaying any kind of information. Designers envision its use in public
areas. The Premiere by Samsung is another idea: ultra short-throw laser projector that
provides an immersive viewing experience and a cinema-like quality sound.
26. 26
CES showed us high-tech chairs able to
improve gaming and video experiences.
But wear something is even better than be
sitted on it. bHaptics launched a full-body
suit that gives users a whole new way to
become immersed in their content. It
delivers a tactile feedback experience
whether you use VR, PC, console gaming
or are just watching a movie.
27. 27
LG Rollable has a resizable screen that allows users to stream content, play
games, edit docs and more without needing to squint or zoom. It changes the
ratio aspect for display and video content. But technology we want in our
hands is never enough. WOWCube takes on the old Rubik’s cube and features
24 high-resolution screens and eight autonomous modules.
