Traditional Research Methods Of Quantitative And...
Traditional research methods consist of implementing quantitative and qualitative research.
Quantitative research utilizes statistical analysis by breaking down components of observation that are
compared to other elements (Bergman, M. M., 2008). Qualitative research focuses on investigating the
participant s range of behavior, usually with small groups, which results in descriptive analysis
(Bergman M. M., 2008).
Mixed method research involves using Qualitative research and Quantitative research designs. The
advantage of using both is to utilize the strength of each type in order to produce an outcome that is
most beneficial to the area of study (Bergman, M. M., 2008). The challenge with mixed method
research in integrating the results of both Qualitative and Quantitative results in order to present
unbiased scientific results that are worthy of discussion (Bergman, M. M., 2008).
Action research is a practical or real world approach to a profession inquiry in a social setting.
Educational professionals may use this approach to evaluate an existing teaching method or review a
new method that may be considered for use in the classroom. Action research can be implemented
using mixed methods and conducted my an individual or in collaboration with other professionals.
Inclusive Physical Education embraces the needs of students with physical impairments and includes
them in the physical education curriculum (Goodwin, 2000). The research on students with physical

Voter Turnout Analysis
The article that I chose to analyze discusses the area of voter turnout. Voter turnout is an area that is
near and dear to me because the opportunity to voice our opinions through voting is a civil
responsibility and ultimately our first opportunity to be involved in the political system. Voter turnout
is not a topic that is new, but it has manifested itself more and more over the years, and it is now a
huge topic of discussion in society. With different states instituting voting laws, voter turnout seems to
be on the decline. Why is this so? How do voting laws cause a decline in voter turnout at the polls?
The article that I chose explains the relationship between different voting laws and how they can affect
voter turnout at the polls.

The author has used data from different researchers to support his ideas as to the contributing factors
related to voter turnout. The author also uses a comparative perspective to help explain and show how
factors related to an election effect voter turnout. Here in North Carolina, we had voter ID laws for a
short time frame, and I saw the effects first hand on voter turnout. Personally, I do not have a driver s
license. Even though I have a learner s permit, I can see where someone who is in my position who
does not have any form of identification decides to skip the polls altogether because he/she does not
want to go through the hassle of obtaining a permit or identification card in order to vote. To me,
voting is extremely important, and as a government major, I have began to witness firsthand, how
having a large voter turnout can have on the result of an

Human Brain And Human Brains
We, the human species are unique. This is a phrase we all have heard at some point in our lives. We
are unique compared to other animals in our language, movements, and emotions. We have our own
language which the majority of animals do not, we stand on two legs while the majority of the animals
are on four legs, and we are much more sensitive to our emotional reactions, making us complex
animals. Now, where does all these differences come from? As the title suggest, our human brains are
incredible in the way they process information. This article aims to discuss the differences of human
brain compared to other animal brains, and what makes us humans so unique in our responsive
reactions in how we process information. More specifically, this paper will examine the influences the
environment has on our human brains and how the changing environment influences our brain
evolution in how we respond.
Firstly, it is important to understand the evolution and development of human brain. An interesting
idea is that our human brains are becoming smaller in size through evolution of time. It is commonly
believed that more content requires bigger space. Let s take an example. A bowl that needs to fit ten
identical objects needs to be bigger to a bowl that only needs to fit five identical objects. Likewise, our
human brain has continued to develop through evolution and has much more complex capabilities as
well as content to carry since the birth of our species in the Stone Age. Now

Nasa s Mission To Mars Research Paper
Mathematically Modeling NASA s Upcoming Insight Mission to Mars
Introduction:
Ever since I was a little boy I ve been fascinated with space. Being an astronaut would be out of this
world; however, mechanical engineering has always been a dream of mine. Rockets and satellites are
of great interest to me, and the future Mars missions are exciting. As I can t physically travel to Mars,
the pictures and data collected by the many NASA probes sent there are the next best thing. At first, I
thought that sending a rocket to Mars wouldn t be that hard; you just aim the rocket at Mars and
launch it. However, it is much more complex than that. In my investigation I will mathematically
model the next rocket launch to Mars which is NASA s Insight ... Show more content on

However, by having a smaller change in velocity, the trip requires less fuel and costs less as a result.
When comparing this hypothetical journey to Mars to NASA s planned mission, the orbital path is
similar; however, the time to arrive is longer by about 52 days. Although not exactly the same flight
duration, the difference can be a result of the fact that Earth and Mars orbits aren t perfect circles and
have varying distances from each other which affect travel distance and times. The difference in time
can also stem from Kepler s Third Law: it only factors in the semi major orbit and the effect of the sun
s gravity to determine speed. However, there was no way to factor in the speed of the rocket to see its
affect on the time. In conclusion, the Hohmann Transfer Orbit is the method of choice for spacecraft
and offers reliable, albeit not 100 percent accurate data of the time and changes in velocity for an

Alternate Ending For Mordred
If you repent your crimes, I will spare your life. Kara stared at the king as he finished his speech,
amazed she d been given a final chance at a reprieve rather than being led straight to the gallows. She
knew then that Mordred was right about this man... saddened by the realization that Arthur had a truly
merciful heart, quite unlike the monster Morgana had painted him out to be. That made it so much
more painful to speak the words... poisonous beliefs she no longer had the ability to contradict no
matter how hard she tried. Her mouth opened against her will, Morgana s thoughts drawn out of her as
if some magnetic force dictated her powers of speech. I cannot repent a crime I have not committed.

Mercury Contamination In Costa Rica
Literature Review The Background of Mercury Initially, my research was primarily focused on the
issue of heavy metal pollution and its integral parts, before delving into finding the problems it causes
further down the line. Audrey Haynes dissertation, Mercury Contamination in Costa Rica (2012), was
the most prominent reliable source of data that I discovered, having been written by a university
student, who had travelled to Costa Rica herself to collect data which had then been peer reviewed
before publishing. Not only this, but she also worked alongside other academics and scientists
currently studying the problem to further increase the validity of the research, therefore making the
dissertation a balanced and informative source. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of my sources including Methyl Mercury The Danger from the Sea (Protect the sharks, 2012)
offer data and detailed explanations as to why it is so toxic to us as humans and the extreme problems
it can cause to the human body. As mammals, we cannot manage mercury levels in our system
because it is not naturally occurring in our environment, meaning we have not adapted to cope with is
causing us to suffer various negative side effects when ingesting mercury. Methyl mercury is 1000
times more toxic than organic mercury (Protect the sharks, 2012) which is an alarming statistic
considering the fact human tissue assimilates almost 100% of methyl mercury. According to Dr. Jane
Hightower, although there is no safe level of chronic mercury exposure, for reasons currently thought
to be related to genetics, some people have higher tolerances to methyl mercury than others. This
means reactions to the substance can vary in severity on wide scale. The Effect of Fish Consumption
on Blood Mercury Levels of Pregnant Women (Euy Hyuk Kim et al, 2006) explains that once the
methyl mercury is ingested, usually through the consumption of fish, initial signs of the poisoning
include numbness of the hands and feet, general weakness of the muscles, loss of peripheral vision
and damage to hearing and speech. However within the course of only a few weeks the effects of the
poisoning can dramatically worsen to anything between the development of type 2 diabetes, infertility
(especially in men), immune dysfunction, an increase in coronary heart disease and heart attacks or
strokes, mutations leading to cancer, dysphagia, visual impairments, insanity (hence the term mad as a
hatter) and neuropsychiatric damage being the worst. The neurological problems tend to originally

The South Will Rise Again
Southern Pride You would be hard pressed to find any Southerner who does not know and understand
the sentiment behind the statement, The South will rise again. The South is a region within the United
States that does not follow the generalized American rule. In an effort to identify what makes the
South a distinctive region, one must explore the comparisons of culture, education, racism, religion,
and identity of the South and its people to the rest of America. Through the use of a wide variety of
statistics and comprehensive comparisons, it is possible to understand why Southerners feel it is
important to protect and preserve their heritage from what they consider to be attacks from outsiders.
While the South has experienced many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The South fought the American Civil War as a movement to separate themselves from the Union and
establish its own national citizenship. As a result of their resounding loss, Southerners chose to focus
their energies on maintaining their individual ethnic group which sets them apart from the rest of the
nation. According to John Shelton Reed, author of The Enduring South, The three functional
characteristics of an ethnic group are that: It serves psychologically as a source of group identification;
it provides a pattern network of groups; and it refracts the national cultural patterns of behavior and
values through the prism of its own cultural heritage. Reed allows his readers to grasp the intensity in
which Southerners met, and still meet today, all three of the functional characteristics of an ethnic
group. Throughout his book, Reed purposes to enlighten the reader that Southern ness is attained by
three different measures: birth, achievement, or unwilling thrust (such as the African Americans who
were brought to America under duress). The Enduring South exposes the element of Southern identity
as pride in its heritage, culture, customs, and ideals. The South, as it has been nationally defined, is
referred to as the eleven ex Confederate states, with the additions of Oklahoma and Kentucky; and the
rest of America is referred to as non Southerners. As a means of maintaining an accurate collection of
data, Reed uses the nationally acclaimed

The Factors Of Adolescent Behavior
The Factors of Adolescent Behavior as Defined by Aloe Blacc s Song, Love is the Answer
Love is the answer/ It s the only thing that everybody needs A. Blacc
The presence of love plays a distinct role on society. The amount of compassion and support given
greatly affects an individual s outcome in life. The story told in Aloe Blacc s music video Love Is The
Answer centers on two teenage brothers who become separated after their parents divorce. With each
son residing with one parent, the video shows a contrast of the lives of the boys. The message of the
video suggests that family life, social environments, and love are factors of adolescent behavior. The
music video uses imagery, videography techniques, and lyrics to convey its ... Show more content on

The video also captures scenes of the father s son attending a good school. The neatly maintained
lockers and hallways, student computers, football field, and suburbia looking teenagers conveys the
thought that he has a quality education that perhaps teaches moral ethics to their students. This son is
also seen dedicating himself to football. The scenes highlight his passion and hard work as he is seen
practicing on the football field. The second son s quality of life is not the same as his brother s. His
mother is rarely seen in the music video. She only makes one appearance with her son. Her short
appearance shows her yelling at him as he lies on the couch, holding a football. This son attends a
school with damaged lockers and enters a classroom that appears to be a rundown portable building.
Most of the students have rebellious looks on their faces and show no interest in their education. He
spends his free time gambling and drinking with rebellious people.
The contrast in the lifestyles of the two brothers suggests that the factors of behavior vary in each
situation. Although social behavior is learned by youth through a variety of sources, including peers,
school, the family and the neighborhood, it is the family that is the single most important influence on
youth socialization (Donegan 1996). Both sons are highly influenced by the parent they live with.

The After World War II
Shortly after World War II most of the European powers that had once held dominion over vast
colonies across the globe found their grips on these territories lessened. Even before the end of the
war, some of these colonies decided to begin preparations to seize their own destinies from the hands
of their masters, and become sovereign entities. One of these colonies was the Dutch East Indies,
which was under Dutch control for more than 150 years. The nation that would form from this freed
colony would be Indonesia, and on August 17th 1945 the Indonesian people declared their sovereignty
and independence from Dutch rule. After four long years of fighting and tense negotiations, the Dutch
finally recognized Indonesian independence at the end of 1949. The President of this new fledgling
nation was a man by the name of Achmad Sukarno, and he would lead this nation through its
revolution in 1945 up until 1967 when he was forced to resign. His reign was one of founding, which
demeaned the idea of parliamentary democracy as inappropriate for the Indonesian people, and so he
adopted a policy known as Guided democracy, a type of autocratic rule. But due to the diversity of
both the people and radical differences of political parties within this new weak state and the uneven
representation of political factions, this governmental system was doomed to fail. The instability of
the new Indonesian government coupled with the attempts of Indonesia s first president to pit different

The bill reauthorizes the programs regarding the exclusivity of specific medications and drugs that
contain single enantiomers, the orphan grants program and critical path public private conglomerates

it requires the Secretary to emphasize the aspects of new medications that seek licensure or approval
for a rare condition or disease as an already approved medication to highlight that the new drug is

health and human services to commit in taking legislative actions to cut the prices for prescription

Businesses are formed to make money. In the pursuit of making money, businesses deal with
consumers and customers and other businesses. In all things in life when you have more than one

will focus on purchasing agents and insurance claim agents on why they avoid conflicts in the courts.
It will also address how purchasing agents and insurance claim agents access disputes, how they

Discussion will only be focused around purchasing agents and insurance claim agents. Purchasing
agents access their disputes in three ways. Customer satisfaction, business relationships and longevity
of said relationships. All businesses want to produce a product that fits the needs of the consumer,
which enables the company to make money. If the purchasing agent is not happy with the product then
more likely the case the purchasing agent will find another supplier. Stewart Macaulay states, Both
business units involved in the exchange desire to continue successfully in business and will avoid
conduct which might interfere with attaining this goal. He goes on to say, People in a sales department
oppose contract. Contractual negotiations are just one more hurdle in the way of a sale. Holding
customers to the letter of a contact is bad for customer relations . Suing a customer who is not
bankrupt and might order again is poor strategy. It all boils down to this, if the customer is happy with
his purchase then that customer will use that company again which means that the business will make
money. The only time a purchase agent will file a legal complaint is if the customer is going out of
business or is going bankrupt. The insurance claim agent access disputes in a different manner. To the
insurance claim agent it depends on the size of the claim and the individual. Lawrence H. Ross

* The Influence of Essentialst Attitudes Portrayed in the Modern Day Sitcom on the Views and Beliefs
of Modern Society.
Throughout its long history, the sitcom has been commonly understood to define the cultural norms of
modern society through such comedy techniques as satire and irony. Like modern society, certain
characteristics of the sitcom have evolved over time, while others have remained consistent. The
evolution of the sitcom coincides with the generational shift in attitudes of society towards certain
beliefs and values. So, it would seem that there must be some sort of correlation between the evolution
of the sitcom and that of society, as if one is the cause of the other. * * While this can be safely said

Recent sitcoms have challenged and broadened the idea of traditional stereotypes. For example,
Gencarella (2005,394) argues that the four main characters of Seinfeld represent four distinct political
stereotypes: the individualist, the hierarchical, the egalitarian, and the fatalist. The way these political
stereotypes interact with each other and their community have no doubt contributed to the comicality
and thus the success of the show. *
Unlike the 2005 sit com The Office (American version), Seinfeld does not consistently display
essentialist traits in its characters. It conveys essentialist themes through satirical situations involving
essentialism. This is none more evident than the following example ( The Yada Yada ), which
Gencarella (2005,398) also uses to describe the egalitarian nature of Kramer:
* Jerry: Those people can be so touchy. * Kramer: Those people. Listen to yourself. * Jerry: What? *
Kramer: You think that dentists are so different from me and you? * They come to this country just
like everybody else in search of a dream! * Jerry: Kramer, he s just a dentist. * Kramer: Yeah, and you

The Haroun and The Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie, is based on Harouns life stories and

connections in The Haroun and The Sea of Stories with these 3 texts and more. While reading this

Steller sea lions (Eumetiopias jubatus) are the only member of Eumetiopias and are one of the biggest
of the eared seals. Steller sea lions feed mainly on fish, and sometimes even various types of shellfish.
Many Steller sea lions can be found along the coast of Western Alaska. Generally, Western Alaska has
relatively warm summers, cold winters, and mild temperatures during the spring and fall, with the
highest amounts of rainfall during the summertime. Steller sea lions have recently come under the

An experiment documenting the effect of feeding low quality prey like pollock to Stellar sea lions was
conducted (Jeanniard du Dot et al., 2008). In the experiment there were two groups of Stellar sea
lions, group H and group P. Group H was fed less herring and group P was fed pollock in equal
amounts regarding caloric content. After feeding each group the restricted diets, the researchers
recorded the foraging behaviors of the sea lions over the summer and the winter. All of the sea lions
increased their foraging behaviors during the summer, when prey is abundant, but only group H
conserved conserved energy during the winter when prey is less abundant. Group P did not reduce
energy consumption in order to use energy more efficiently when it turned winter because they had
less energy to use during the winter due to the low quality diet, and that low quality diets hurt the sea
lions during times of nutritional stress (Jeanniard du Dot et al., 2008). A journal article also
documented that young Stellar sea lions were more impacted by a low quality diet (Rosen, 2009). It
was seen that young sea lions were more impacted by a low quality diet because of their higher energy
requirements, and also their digestive capacity, which means they can t even consume a higher
quantity of lower quality fish to compensate. Both of these experiments explain how low quality prey

Design And Construction Of Australia
2 DESIGN CONSTRUCTION
2.1 Introduction
As the world s population increases airlines along with airports have been experiencing higher air
transport demands. These demand not only passengers arriving and departing from airports, but also
from growths in freight. Higher demands for passenger and freight throughput has caused major
airports to struggle to efficiently accommodate air transport flow in busy periods, causing congestion
and delays (Solak et al. 2009; Zhang Zhang 2006). Solak et al. (2009) asserts that the implementation
of tougher airport security due to terrorism has caused airports to become additionally congested and
experience extended delays. For example, Australia s population is rapidly increasing and is becoming

Other possibilities are to build a new airport or utilise other existing underused airports, for example in
Melbourne Avalon Airport can be used in conjunction with Tullamarine Airport (Engineers Australia

multi airport systems (De Neufville 1995).
2.2 Literature Review
With long term growths in passenger and freight volumes expected in airports all around the world,
airports are planning and implementing various strategies to meet those expected future demands
(Solak et al. 2009; Kwakkel et al. 2010). A planner s proposals and strategies in which an airport can
implement over a number of years in order to facilitate the forecasted growth of passengers and freight
is known as an airport master plan (Kwakkel et al. 2010). Bradley (2010) states that an airport s
capacity is a result of a number of different combined factors. These include how much aircraft
movement over a specific period its runway can handle, the number of aircrafts its apron can
accommodate, as well as how much incoming and outgoing passengers and freight its terminal can
facilitate per hour (Caves 1994; Bradley 2010). An airport master plan can include airport expansion,
maintenance and upgrades, the development of a new airport or even the utilisation of multiple
airports in a city. Regardless of the plan the necessary design and

Causes And Treatment Of Cystic Fibrosis
Envision needing to breathe through a straw consistently, for whatever remains of your life. This is the
means by which people consistently feel while living with Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is a deep
rooted, genetic infection that influences numerous real organs. Sticky bodily fluid obstructs the
aviation route in the lungs and in addition pathways leading to the digestive framework in the
pancreas. This destructive illness has been examined for a considerable length of time with a strong
desire for a cure. Advancements in technological innovations will clear the way for a better

Researchers trust that this late knowledge will stimulate the development of better therapies
(Christensen 59). These treatments will extend and enhance the quality of living for the patients
suffering from Cystic Fibrosis.
Present day treatments cannot be productive if the patient is uninformed of their current condition. All
infants that are conceived in the United States are now tried for Cystic Fibrosis at childbirth. This
permits children to get treatment promptly. By administrating treatment from the minute the child is
conceived, it diminishes the possibility of scar tissue producing in the lungs. This is imperative to the
survival of Cystic Fibrosis patients on the grounds that once the tissue has transformed into scar tissue
it no more performs in the way that it should: supplying a sufficient amount of oxygen to the
individual. Once conceived, the infant will be given an examination comprising of three sections, the
simplest one being the sweat test. The sweat test will demonstrate an overabundance of chloride ions
due to the fact that the patients do not have the genetic material to properly regulate the ions.
Immoderate levels of salt have been the main indication of the illness for as long as the disease has
been discovered.
Analysts have found that Cystic Fibrosis happens on the long arm of chromosome 7. This data is
essential in the survival of the ill because that it helps in the researching and distributing

Gambling Addiction In Children
It is hard to imagine the emotional roller coaster that a child goes through when having to deal with a
parent that has a gambling addiction. Every week, a new piece of furniture is missing and the fridge is
almost always empty. Yet, the mother still sometimes has enough to pay the rent and buy herself new
clothes when she wants. The child s feeling of neglect has made her a stranger in his eyes, and all he
ever does is wish help for her. One problem he seems to face is that no one seems to pay much
attention to gambling addicts. Addictions are not simply limited to drug and alcoholism, buy can be
related to material possessions, people and gambling, for example (Morris). Despite the arguments
that a gambling addiction can be just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a gambling mother, all of her money is going into feeding her addiction rather than the things that
matter most, such as her child s education, his clothes and his food. Imagine a child always coming
home with no food to eat or no jacket to wear in the cold weather because his mother spent all her
money gambling. When a mother or father has a gambling problem, the child in their care can feel
forgotten, depressed and angry (PG). They may even feel responsible for the problem, and alter their
behaviors as a result (p.1). This can follow the child to adult age not only ruin the relationship that the
parent has with the child but also create mental and emotional issues for the child in older age.
According to the California Council, the absence of a caregivers for the child can thrust them into a
role of responsibility, forcing them to take care of siblings or try to support their parents (p.1). This
responsibility causes children stress, and continuous stress can lead to drug related issues for the child
in the future (p.1). For a child who doesn t have food to eat, this can be difficult, as most of them are
too young to get a job and pay for things themselves. This type of situation can cause a child to result

Observation Of A Daycare
On Monday, November 20, 2017, at 7:30 am I observed twelve children in a classroom environment.
This daycare is a local daycare in my hometown, Bryan, TX. During this visit, I learned a lot of new
information, how and why children communicate. The classroom consisted of about twelve young
boys and girls ranging from the ages of two years old through five years old. This classroom was not
diverse. There were only ten African Americans, and two of the children were mixed with African
American and White. There were two daycare staff workers, who were both African American. The
theme for this week at the daycare is Community Helpers. The two staff, answered questions, assist in
a particular station for the day, and made sure that every stay on task. There is a total of four stations,
where three children pair up to each station. There were two stations, that were self start station. Those
stations include Reading/Writing and Math station, the children were familiar with the daily routine
and did not need much help or attention.
The Reading/Writing Station is one of the most important stations because if a child doesn t know
how to read or write they will not be able to go to a higher level in school or even be successful later
on in life. In this station, I saw the students picking a book from the box which consisted of many
different professions and community helpers that they could read and learn about. Once they finished
reading they would pull out a piece a paper so that

Too Much Power In Tommy Douglas And George Orwell s Animal...
Have you ever thought about power and what it does when there is too much of it? In the book Animal
Farm and the short story Mousland, one group has too much power and it influences the rules; which
shows the theme that if there is too much power in one group there is no equality within the rules. The
authors of Animal Farm and Mousland use the narrative techniques of characterization and conflict to
illustrate political messages, about power influencing, how the rules affect equality.
The authors Tommy Douglas and George Orwell use characterization to show the political message
that too much power affects the rules that affect equality. In the book Animal Farm the animals have
taken over the farm from the humans and started producing their own goods. In the book Animal
Farm, page 35 it says, The animals had assumed as a matter of course that these would be shared out
equally; one day, however, the order went forth that all the windfalls were to be collected and brought
to the harness room for the use of the pigs... You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in
spirit of selfless and privilege? ... Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk
and apples (this has been proved by science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the

Poem Analysis, To A Daughter Leaving Home
As there were many poems to choose, this poem analysis is To a Daughter Leaving Home by Linda
Pastan. Linda Pastan s poems usually talks about families and the relationship between family
members. This poem talks from the mom perspective, who remembers many memory of teaching her
daughter how to ride a bicycle. From reading the whole poem, it seems to talk about how a mother
saw her daughter grew up. The poet used good amount of metaphor using bicycle as a path of life.
Analysis will start now with lines from the poem and explaining the meaning behind it. The mother
starts with, When I taught you at eight to ride a bicycle, meaning her mom started to teach her about
life at eight. Loping along beside your as your wobbled away on two round wheels. She has helped
her by staying by her daughter side and helping her through the problems.
My own mouth rounding in surprise when you pulled ahead down the curved path of the park. The
meaning behind this is her mom was surprised when she got through the path fine on her own. This
can have meaning such as the daughter fixed her own problem without the mother s support. I kept
waiting for the thud of your crash as I sprinted to catch up, while you grew smaller. Her mother hoped
she would need her help in disaster, but the daughter moves ahead on her own. This emphasizes that
her daughter is moving forward in life meaning

Case Analysis Of Canada Goose
This article was published in Business Wire on August 10th, 2017. It announced that Canada Goose
Inc., who is well known for specializing in making expensive winter outwear, is going to spread its
market by opening up three additional new retail stores in Tokyo, Boston, and Calgary this autumn.
Earlier, the brand had informed that it would open stores in London and Chicago this fall as well.
Now, it wants to add more stores to the line. So, the flagship store with 3,100 square feet will be in
Tokyo s Sendagaya district, while the store in Boston will be in the Prudential Center. Then, the
Calgary store will locate in the Cadillac Fairview Chinook Centre; the brand s second store in Canada
will be remarkable. The locations that the company chooses to expand are all the most high end and
luxury shopping centers in order to keep the brand s luxury positioning. By setting the sights on
expansion, it enables the company to meet the demands, approach to more customers, and increase
revenues.
Connection to International Business
What Canada Goose Inc. is doing is part of the horizontal expansion, which happens when an
organization wants to enlarge its business to other locations but still offer customers with the same
service industries as the company in the home country (www.eyeworld.org). This can also be
considered as a motivation of seeking new markets. By expanding internationally, Canada Goose can
have many opportunities to grow, increase sales, and improve its brand recognition overseas. With
those extra sales, it will enable to exploit economies of scale and scope; thereby it will have a source
of competitive advantage over its domestic competitors (Bartlett Beamish, 2013). Plus, since the
company already has a good reputation as the one produces the best and warmest jackets on Earth ,
which gives it a competitive advantage to confidently expand to other nations (Shaw, 2012). When it
can raise the demand in the overseas marketplace, it can lower the unit costs by spreading the fixed
costs over a high level of production. Furthermore, the company has the global mentality by making
and selling the same thing, the same way, everywhere (Bartlett, Beamish, 2013). Canada Goose has
made standardized products

Madeline does not know this and does this unintentionally.
Keats describes la Belle Dame Sans Merci with an admiration. It is almost as if he is the man in the

way. Ah what can ail thee the first line asks. Then Keats proceeds to tell the story. Keats shows man as
weak in this poem, love as a disability. We are shown how this man is overcome by emotion as he is
left palely loitering in case la Belle Dame returns. In Keats s extract from The Eve of Saint Agnes he
describes her as a figure of beauty. This time it is portrayed as genuine and deep as Madeline is not
aware of an audience. The story of The Eve of Saint Agnes is a charming one as we see love, as it
should be; requited and true. Tennyson depicts Mariana as a weak

Motor Vehicle Safety Essays
Motor Vehicle Safety
Motor accidents are one of the leading causes of unintentional injuries in the United States. In the year
2000 the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimated that around 41,000
people were killed in traffic accidents within the United States. This mortality rate has since dropped
25% from 2000 to 2009 (Rockett et al., 2012). There are many reasons for motor vehicle injuries,
ranging from lack of seat belt use, elderly drivers, alcohol and young children being improperly
secured. All of these things factor into motor injuries differently and must be addressed as a separate
problem. Highway safety is an important issue in public health and many things have already been

MADD has even received support from alcohol companies because of their focus on the offender, and

Racial Barriers In Baseball
Introduction Over the first few decades after the breaking of the racial barrier in baseball by Jackie
Robinson the number of African American in professional baseball stayed on a rise, unfortunately the
numbers over the most recent decades have been going the opposite direction. The color barrier was
broken in Major League Baseball (MLB) by Robinson on April 15, 1947 when he was called to play
for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson broke way for African Americans in baseball and they took
advantage of it as the number increased every year after. The purpose of this study is to find out why
the percentage of African Americans playing in the MLB has been on a steady decline the past few
decades. This percentage is dropping every year and there does not seem to be much of a change in the
future. While the numbers of African American professionals are much higher in football and
basketball and not at risk of dropping soon, what is it that is making baseballs number slowly
diminish. In this research I will examine numbers that have been put together and analyze interviews
that were performed with some professionals as well as highly accredited sports journalist. Although I
will focus on professional baseball I will also provide some insight on youth baseball to see what the
future may hold as far as the possibility of another increase in the percentage of African Americans in
the pros. As the years gone on there has also been an increase in latin baseball players throughout
professional baseball, as well as a decrease in whites. Some questions regarding the topic are what is
causing the decline in the percentage? What initiative is being taken by Major League Baseball to help
try to increase the percentages? What is significant about baseball compared to other sports (football,
basketball) that makes them different and less attractive to African American youth?
Literature Review In all articles read all journalist mentions the same thing. One major contributor to
the decline in African Americans in baseball is because of the cost to be good. Most of the highly
talented players now come from travel ball and not your stand park rec. league. To compete at the
highly level of travel ball has the potential to be

Module 5 Assignment 1
In regards to cognitive psychology and the ways in which we define ourselves in terms of individuals,
is one of the biggest areas of interest. The area defines the process used in order to acquire, receive,
retain and store the information in which is received. During childhood our memory grows, and
through adulthood throughout until our middle age, where shortly after we begin to decline in
productivity. Initially, when a person grows and changes, their brain begins to change and their
cognitive functions worsen. One example being the way in which we appropriately word and express
things, begins to decline in fluency and accuracy. (American psychological association, 2006). Studies
have shown that the semantic and procedural memory declines the least, while that flashbulb memory
declines the most. The amount of large declination varies due to middle age sensitivity and the lack of
self efficiency. The memory initially declines based not on the lack of storage, but merely how they
retain and store that information which is being received. Naturally, this happens because the cortex
shrinks, leaving a serious lack of blood flow to the brain, and triggers that loss, which is naturally all
apart of the aging process. Some natural signs of normal age related memory loss can include the
occasional forgetfulness of where we placed something

papers. As a consequence, it fundamentally frames the problem as a legal one.
The Security Frame The government is held responsible to provide security for its citizens from
criminals and invaders.
Amnesty A pardoning of illegal action it implies that the fault lies with the immigrants, and it is a

  • 2. Traditional Research Methods Of Quantitative And... Traditional research methods consist of implementing quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative research utilizes statistical analysis by breaking down components of observation that are compared to other elements (Bergman, M. M., 2008). Qualitative research focuses on investigating the participant s range of behavior, usually with small groups, which results in descriptive analysis (Bergman M. M., 2008). Mixed method research involves using Qualitative research and Quantitative research designs. The advantage of using both is to utilize the strength of each type in order to produce an outcome that is most beneficial to the area of study (Bergman, M. M., 2008). The challenge with mixed method research in integrating the results of both Qualitative and Quantitative results in order to present unbiased scientific results that are worthy of discussion (Bergman, M. M., 2008). Action research is a practical or real world approach to a profession inquiry in a social setting. Educational professionals may use this approach to evaluate an existing teaching method or review a new method that may be considered for use in the classroom. Action research can be implemented using mixed methods and conducted my an individual or in collaboration with other professionals. • 3. Voter Turnout Analysis The article that I chose to analyze discusses the area of voter turnout. Voter turnout is an area that is near and dear to me because the opportunity to voice our opinions through voting is a civil responsibility and ultimately our first opportunity to be involved in the political system. Voter turnout is not a topic that is new, but it has manifested itself more and more over the years, and it is now a huge topic of discussion in society. With different states instituting voting laws, voter turnout seems to be on the decline. Why is this so? How do voting laws cause a decline in voter turnout at the polls? The article that I chose explains the relationship between different voting laws and how they can affect voter turnout at the polls. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author has used data from different researchers to support his ideas as to the contributing factors related to voter turnout. The author also uses a comparative perspective to help explain and show how factors related to an election effect voter turnout. Here in North Carolina, we had voter ID laws for a short time frame, and I saw the effects first hand on voter turnout. Personally, I do not have a driver s license. Even though I have a learner s permit, I can see where someone who is in my position who does not have any form of identification decides to skip the polls altogether because he/she does not want to go through the hassle of obtaining a permit or identification card in order to vote. To me, voting is extremely important, and as a government major, I have began to witness firsthand, how having a large voter turnout can have on the result of an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Human Brain And Human Brains We, the human species are unique. This is a phrase we all have heard at some point in our lives. We are unique compared to other animals in our language, movements, and emotions. We have our own language which the majority of animals do not, we stand on two legs while the majority of the animals are on four legs, and we are much more sensitive to our emotional reactions, making us complex animals. Now, where does all these differences come from? As the title suggest, our human brains are incredible in the way they process information. This article aims to discuss the differences of human brain compared to other animal brains, and what makes us humans so unique in our responsive reactions in how we process information. More specifically, this paper will examine the influences the environment has on our human brains and how the changing environment influences our brain evolution in how we respond. Firstly, it is important to understand the evolution and development of human brain. An interesting idea is that our human brains are becoming smaller in size through evolution of time. It is commonly believed that more content requires bigger space. Let s take an example. A bowl that needs to fit ten identical objects needs to be bigger to a bowl that only needs to fit five identical objects. Likewise, our human brain has continued to develop through evolution and has much more complex capabilities as well as content to carry since the birth of our species in the Stone Age. Now ... • 5. Nasa s Mission To Mars Research Paper Mathematically Modeling NASA s Upcoming Insight Mission to Mars Introduction: Ever since I was a little boy I ve been fascinated with space. Being an astronaut would be out of this world; however, mechanical engineering has always been a dream of mine. Rockets and satellites are of great interest to me, and the future Mars missions are exciting. As I can t physically travel to Mars, the pictures and data collected by the many NASA probes sent there are the next best thing. At first, I thought that sending a rocket to Mars wouldn t be that hard; you just aim the rocket at Mars and launch it. However, it is much more complex than that. In my investigation I will mathematically model the next rocket launch to Mars which is NASA s Insight ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, by having a smaller change in velocity, the trip requires less fuel and costs less as a result. When comparing this hypothetical journey to Mars to NASA s planned mission, the orbital path is similar; however, the time to arrive is longer by about 52 days. Although not exactly the same flight duration, the difference can be a result of the fact that Earth and Mars orbits aren t perfect circles and have varying distances from each other which affect travel distance and times. The difference in time can also stem from Kepler s Third Law: it only factors in the semi major orbit and the effect of the sun s gravity to determine speed. However, there was no way to factor in the speed of the rocket to see its affect on the time. In conclusion, the Hohmann Transfer Orbit is the method of choice for spacecraft and offers reliable, albeit not 100 percent accurate data of the time and changes in velocity for an interplanetary ... Mercury Contamination In Costa Rica Literature Review The Background of Mercury Initially, my research was primarily focused on the issue of heavy metal pollution and its integral parts, before delving into finding the problems it causes further down the line. Many of my sources including Methyl Mercury The Danger from the Sea (Protect the sharks, 2012) offer data and detailed explanations as to why it is so toxic to us as humans and the extreme problems it can cause to the human body. As mammals, we cannot manage mercury levels in our system because it is not naturally occurring in our environment, meaning we have not adapted to cope with is causing us to suffer various negative side effects when ingesting mercury. Methyl mercury is 1000 times more toxic than organic mercury (Protect the sharks, 2012) which is an alarming statistic considering the fact human tissue assimilates almost 100% of methyl mercury. According to Dr. Jane Hightower, although there is no safe level of chronic mercury exposure, for reasons currently thought to be related to genetics, some people have higher tolerances to methyl mercury than others. This means reactions to the substance can vary in severity on wide scale. The Effect of Fish Consumption on Blood Mercury Levels of Pregnant Women (Euy Hyuk Kim et al, 2006) explains that once the methyl mercury is ingested, usually through the consumption of fish, initial signs of the poisoning include numbness of the hands and feet, general weakness of the muscles, loss of peripheral vision and damage to hearing and speech. However within the course of only a few weeks the effects of the poisoning can dramatically worsen to anything between the development of type 2 diabetes, infertility (especially in men), immune dysfunction, an increase in coronary heart disease and heart attacks or strokes, mutations leading to cancer, dysphagia, visual impairments, insanity (hence the term mad as a hatter) and neuropsychiatric damage being the worst. The South fought the American Civil War as a movement to separate themselves from the Union and establish its own national citizenship. As a result of their resounding loss, Southerners chose to focus their energies on maintaining their individual ethnic group which sets them apart from the rest of the nation. According to John Shelton Reed, author of The Enduring South, The three functional characteristics of an ethnic group are that: It serves psychologically as a source of group identification; it provides a pattern network of groups; and it refracts the national cultural patterns of behavior and values through the prism of its own cultural heritage. Reed allows his readers to grasp the intensity in which Southerners met, and still meet today, all three of the functional characteristics of an ethnic group. Throughout his book, Reed purposes to enlighten the reader that Southern ness is attained by three different measures: birth, achievement, or unwilling thrust (such as the African Americans who were brought to America under duress). The Enduring South exposes the element of Southern identity as pride in its heritage, culture, customs, and ideals. Even before the end of the war, some of these colonies decided to begin preparations to seize their own destinies from the hands of their masters, and become sovereign entities. One of these colonies was the Dutch East Indies, which was under Dutch control for more than 150 years. The nation that would form from this freed colony would be Indonesia, and on August 17th 1945 the Indonesian people declared their sovereignty and independence from Dutch rule. After four long years of fighting and tense negotiations, the Dutch finally recognized Indonesian independence at the end of 1949. The President of this new fledgling nation was a man by the name of Achmad Sukarno, and he would lead this nation through its revolution in 1945 up until 1967 when he was forced to resign. • 25. Gambling Addiction In Children It is hard to imagine the emotional roller coaster that a child goes through when having to deal with a parent that has a gambling addiction. Every week, a new piece of furniture is missing and the fridge is almost always empty. Yet, the mother still sometimes has enough to pay the rent and buy herself new clothes when she wants. The child s feeling of neglect has made her a stranger in his eyes, and all he ever does is wish help for her. One problem he seems to face is that no one seems to pay much attention to gambling addicts. Addictions are not simply limited to drug and alcoholism, buy can be related to material possessions, people and gambling, for example (Morris). As a gambling mother, all of her money is going into feeding her addiction rather than the things that matter most, such as her child s education, his clothes and his food. Imagine a child always coming home with no food to eat or no jacket to wear in the cold weather because his mother spent all her money gambling. When a mother or father has a gambling problem, the child in their care can feel forgotten, depressed and angry (PG). They may even feel responsible for the problem, and alter their behaviors as a result (p.1). This can follow the child to adult age not only ruin the relationship that the parent has with the child but also create mental and emotional issues for the child in older age. According to the California Council, the absence of a caregivers for the child can thrust them into a role of responsibility, forcing them to take care of siblings or try to support their parents (p.1). This responsibility causes children stress, and continuous stress can lead to drug related issues for the child in the future (p.1). For a child who doesn t have food to eat, this can be difficult, as most of them are too young to get a job and pay for things themselves. During this visit, I learned a lot of new information, how and why children communicate. The classroom consisted of about twelve young boys and girls ranging from the ages of two years old through five years old. This classroom was not diverse. There were only ten African Americans, and two of the children were mixed with African American and White. There were two daycare staff workers, who were both African American. The theme for this week at the daycare is Community Helpers. The two staff, answered questions, assist in a particular station for the day, and made sure that every stay on task. There is a total of four stations, where three children pair up to each station. There were two stations, that were self start station. Those stations include Reading/Writing and Math station, the children were familiar with the daily routine and did not need much help or attention. The Reading/Writing Station is one of the most important stations because if a child doesn t know how to read or write they will not be able to go to a higher level in school or even be successful later on in life. In this station, I saw the students picking a book from the box which consisted of many different professions and community helpers that they could read and learn about. In the book Animal Farm and the short story Mousland, one group has too much power and it influences the rules; which shows the theme that if there is too much power in one group there is no equality within the rules. The authors of Animal Farm and Mousland use the narrative techniques of characterization and conflict to illustrate political messages, about power influencing, how the rules affect equality. The authors Tommy Douglas and George Orwell use characterization to show the political message that too much power affects the rules that affect equality. In the book Animal Farm the animals have taken over the farm from the humans and started producing their own goods. In the book Animal Farm, page 35 it says, The animals had assumed as a matter of course that these would be shared out equally; one day, however, the order went forth that all the windfalls were to be collected and brought to the harness room for the use of the pigs... Linda Pastan s poems usually talks about families and the relationship between family members. This poem talks from the mom perspective, who remembers many memory of teaching her daughter how to ride a bicycle. From reading the whole poem, it seems to talk about how a mother saw her daughter grew up. The poet used good amount of metaphor using bicycle as a path of life. Analysis will start now with lines from the poem and explaining the meaning behind it. The mother starts with, When I taught you at eight to ride a bicycle, meaning her mom started to teach her about life at eight. Loping along beside your as your wobbled away on two round wheels. She has helped her by staying by her daughter side and helping her through the problems. My own mouth rounding in surprise when you pulled ahead down the curved path of the park. The meaning behind this is her mom was surprised when she got through the path fine on her own. This can have meaning such as the daughter fixed her own problem without the mother s support. I kept waiting for the thud of your crash as I sprinted to catch up, while you grew smaller. Her mother hoped she would need her help in disaster, but the daughter moves ahead on her own. This emphasizes that her daughter is moving forward in life meaning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Case Analysis Of Canada Goose This article was published in Business Wire on August 10th, 2017. It announced that Canada Goose Inc., who is well known for specializing in making expensive winter outwear, is going to spread its market by opening up three additional new retail stores in Tokyo, Boston, and Calgary this autumn. Earlier, the brand had informed that it would open stores in London and Chicago this fall as well. Now, it wants to add more stores to the line. So, the flagship store with 3,100 square feet will be in Tokyo s Sendagaya district, while the store in Boston will be in the Prudential Center. Then, the Calgary store will locate in the Cadillac Fairview Chinook Centre; the brand s second store in Canada will be remarkable. The locations that the company chooses to expand are all the most high end and luxury shopping centers in order to keep the brand s luxury positioning. By setting the sights on expansion, it enables the company to meet the demands, approach to more customers, and increase revenues. Connection to International Business What Canada Goose Inc. is doing is part of the horizontal expansion, which happens when an organization wants to enlarge its business to other locations but still offer customers with the same service industries as the company in the home country (www.eyeworld.org). This can also be considered as a motivation of seeking new markets. By expanding internationally, Canada Goose can have many opportunities to grow, increase sales, and improve its brand recognition overseas. With those extra sales, it will enable to exploit economies of scale and scope; thereby it will have a source of competitive advantage over its domestic competitors (Bartlett Beamish, 2013). Plus, since the company already has a good reputation as the one produces the best and warmest jackets on Earth , which gives it a competitive advantage to confidently expand to other nations (Shaw, 2012). When it can raise the demand in the overseas marketplace, it can lower the unit costs by spreading the fixed costs over a high level of production. Furthermore, the company has the global mentality by making and selling the same thing, the same way, everywhere (Bartlett, Beamish, 2013). Canada Goose has made standardized products ... Unlike la Belle Dame she does not the man to loiter . Madeline does have this temptress value, which is shown as Porphyro accuses her of being a Belle Dame Sans Mercy when she will not wake. But the contrast is that Madeline does not know this and does this unintentionally. Keats describes la Belle Dame Sans Merci with an admiration. It is almost as if he is the man in the poem. It seems this way because it is a narrative poem. The poem tells a story, in a conversational way. Ah what can ail thee the first line asks. Then Keats proceeds to tell the story. Keats shows man as weak in this poem, love as a disability. We are shown how this man is overcome by emotion as he is left palely loitering in case la Belle Dame returns. In Keats s extract from The Eve of Saint Agnes he describes her as a figure of beauty. This time it is portrayed as genuine and deep as Madeline is not aware of an audience. In the year 2000 the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimated that around 41,000 people were killed in traffic accidents within the United States. This mortality rate has since dropped 25% from 2000 to 2009 (Rockett et al., 2012). There are many reasons for motor vehicle injuries, ranging from lack of seat belt use, elderly drivers, alcohol and young children being improperly secured. • 36. Racial Barriers In Baseball Introduction Over the first few decades after the breaking of the racial barrier in baseball by Jackie Robinson the number of African American in professional baseball stayed on a rise, unfortunately the numbers over the most recent decades have been going the opposite direction. The color barrier was broken in Major League Baseball (MLB) by Robinson on April 15, 1947 when he was called to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson broke way for African Americans in baseball and they took advantage of it as the number increased every year after. The purpose of this study is to find out why the percentage of African Americans playing in the MLB has been on a steady decline the past few decades. This percentage is dropping every year and there does not seem to be much of a change in the future. While the numbers of African American professionals are much higher in football and basketball and not at risk of dropping soon, what is it that is making baseballs number slowly diminish. In this research I will examine numbers that have been put together and analyze interviews that were performed with some professionals as well as highly accredited sports journalist. Although I will focus on professional baseball I will also provide some insight on youth baseball to see what the future may hold as far as the possibility of another increase in the percentage of African Americans in the pros. As the years gone on there has also been an increase in latin baseball players throughout professional baseball, as well as a decrease in whites. Some questions regarding the topic are what is causing the decline in the percentage? What initiative is being taken by Major League Baseball to help try to increase the percentages? What is significant about baseball compared to other sports (football, basketball) that makes them different and less attractive to African American youth? Literature Review In all articles read all journalist mentions the same thing. One major contributor to the decline in African Americans in baseball is because of the cost to be good. Many psychologists including , Jenness (1932), Sherif (1935) both experimented in psychology, investigating conformity and group pressure. However, perhaps the most famous conformity experiment was done by Solomon Asch (1951) and his line judgment experiment. Understanding Psychology And The Ways Tracy Griffin Adulthood and Aging | PSY307 A01 05/24/2016 Faculty: Arthur Swisher Due date: 05/23/2016 Module 5 Assignment 1 In regards to cognitive psychology and the ways in which we define ourselves in terms of individuals, is one of the biggest areas of interest. The area defines the process used in order to acquire, receive, retain and store the information in which is received. During childhood our memory grows, and through adulthood throughout until our middle age, where shortly after we begin to decline in productivity. Initially, when a person grows and changes, their brain begins to change and their cognitive functions worsen. One example being the way in which we appropriately word and express things, begins to decline in fluency and accuracy. (American psychological association, 2006). Studies have shown that the semantic and procedural memory declines the least, while that flashbulb memory declines the most. The amount of large declination varies due to middle age sensitivity and the lack of self efficiency. The memory initially declines based not on the lack of storage, but merely how they retain and store that information which is being received. Naturally, this happens because the cortex shrinks, leaving a serious lack of blood flow to the brain, and triggers that loss, which is naturally all apart of the aging process. Some natural signs of normal age related memory loss can include the occasional forgetfulness of where we placed something ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
