Is a form of community
engagement and
solidarity which is
essential for the students
to learn that they will
develop a social
responsibility.

3. It refers to the firm and persevering
determination in commiting oneself
to the common good by both
supporting and sustaining
movements for social change and
social justice.
What is Solidarity?

4. It also entails establishing ties with
people who are oppresed,
marginalized and vulnerable ensuring
the cause will be supported by
whatever possible yet ethical means
and that their right will be advocated.

5. VULNERABLE SECTORS
• Rural Poor (ex. landless, farmers, peasants
and fisher folk)
• Urban Poor (ex. Contractual laborers and
workers from the informal economy)
• Migrant Workers and victim of human
trafficking.

6. VULNERABLE SECTORS
• Poor Children, youth, women, the
elderly, and street families.
• Indigenous people
• P.W.D
• Prisoners and inmates
• Victims or survivors of disasters.

7. SOLIDARITY
Is not about verbal support or
expressing approval. It also requires
collection action to fight for the
freedom of the vulnerable oppressed
and marginalized sectors of the
society.

It is the understanding that health
is a state of complete physical,
mental, and social well-being and
the absence of disease. It is also a
fundamental human right.

It is bringing the benefits of
education to every citizen in
society. Access to basic education
is viewed not as a privilege but as
a fundamental human right.

The KAPATIRAN- KAUNLARAN
FOUNDATION INC. (KKFI), formerly known
as the Methodist Social Center (MSC), is
an ecumenical non-profit organization
that believes that education is
instrumental in helping empower
marginalized sectors of Philippines
society.
