War Series By George Bellows Essay
George Bellows War Series brought light to the Rape of Belgium, which involved the torture and
mass slaughtering of Belgian citizens during WWI, while revamping his own lost sense of
passionate and horrifically realistic subject matter and style. Bellows talent for painting this type
of subject matter involving sensitive imagery made him the perfect candidate to portray the
tragedies in Belgium happening during the time period. During WWI, German soldiers were
assaulting Belgian citizens in what is now known as the Rape of Belgium. Belgian civilians were
being tortured and slaughtered by Germans, and only a small portion of the rest of the world
knew about it. Bellows War Series hoped to raise awareness of this horrific act and... Show more

His pieces showed the mass killings that took place by the hand of German soldiers as well.
These horrific scenes were demonstrated in both The German s Arrive and Massacre at Dinant.
The German s Arrive focused on German soldiers throttling a woman, while Belgian villages
burned in the distance (Brock, 2012, p. 255). In a similar manner, Massacre at Dinant describes the
killing of more than six hundred townspeople, including women and children (Brock, 2012, p. 255).
These paintings showed that the German s had no mercy towards any Belgian native, not even the
women and children that were involved in the

Absorbance And Concentration Lab Report
The formula for measuring concentrations (Molarity) is moles/ Volume. The molarity of the
diluted sample is 3.5 x 10^ 6 M and the volume is .005 Liters. Then solve for moles by multiplying
the two knowns the product is 1.75 x 10^ 8 moles. All existing moles came from the .001 Liters of
the unknown sample. The moles should then be divide them the volume, which is 1 ml. The final
answer of the unknown concentrationis 1.75 x 10^ 5 M.
Absorbance and concentration are directly related. So if .1 M has an absorbance of .26, then a
solution with 0.2 M must have an absorbance of 0.52.
The formula to convert absorbance to transmittance is Transmittance = 10^ absorbance. The
equation would be 10^ .85 and the transmittance would be .1412 or 14.12% Transmitted.

two samples of Gatorade contains Blue Dye #1 (Low Calorie and Glacial Frost) were tested and
found that the Low Calorie Gatorade had an absorbance of .135 and the absorbance of the Glacial
Frost Gatorade was .153. Using linear regression the concentration of the two samples can be

The Role Of Robots
I imagine my future with robots, advanced phone, flying cars and much more. A lot of people
think that robots will take over the world and take people s job, etc. Robots are being use to go
to war and taking people s jobs. Robots are operating environment, the relatively high initial cost
of robots means that they tend to be only used by large companies or in defence. It is unlikely
that all the humans will be replaced by robots in any task, it is much more likely that fewer
people will be needed because for many years robots will be assistants. Robots are usually
thought of as being mobile but they don t have to be. For example, washing machines,
dishwashers, and tumble driers can also be thought of as robots. The future is most likely to be
one of productivity gains. They are trying to put brains and several sensors and actuators in
robots. The technology has been available for many years. The advances happening in
technology and it s becoming that evident that computers, machines, robots, and other things are
going to be able to do most of the routine, and repetitive types of jobs. A lot of skills levels fall
into that category. People with college degrees, even professional degrees, also lawyers are doing
things that ultimately are predictable. A lot of those jobs are going to be susceptible over time.
Right now there s still a lot of debate over it. There are economists who think it s totally wrong,
that problems really stem from things like globalization or the fact

Greek Tragedies in a Modern World Essay
Greek Tragedies in a Modern World
*Works Cited Not Included
From the times of Aristotle to modern day Boal people have tried to come up with a definition of
tragedy that encompasses all of the works they feel to be tragedies. However, there are always a
few exceptions to their rules that make their thesis insubstantial. Those who define tragedies all
have different elements that they say are necessary in classifying something as a tragedy.
Unfortunately for us, no one definition has ever been settled upon that everyone agrees with. The
one factor that does seem to be present in every interpretation of what is necessary in a tragedy is
the catharsis that is brought up in the viewer. Without that emotional reaction, whether of pity,...

By doing this, Racine made Phedre a more pitiable character with whom the audience is more
capable of sympathizing. She is seen more as a incapacitated bystander rather than a ruthless,
malicious offender. By reducing her offence to that of allowing Oenone to act, Racine gave the
opportunity to pity Phedre because she was not directly guilty for Hippolytus death. Doing this
enables the audience to look at her internal agony rather than pass over it because they are
repulsed by her actions. He changed Hippolytus character so that he was actually in love for the
first time with Aricia, rather than feeling nothing for any woman, so the whole element of
female jealousy was introduced. By changing the story in these ways Racine shifts the characters
that the audience feels pity for and makes the play easier to relate to. At the end of the play, the
audience feels sympathy for Hippolytus because he is the innocent victim of both a mother s
improper lust and a father s quick tempered stubbornness. For Phedre the audience feels sympathy
for her dilemma; the fact that this all started because of Aphrodite s curse that was not her fault,
and the fact that she was tormented by a love that could never be. They do not, however, pardon
her actions, or lack thereof, that are a result of those feelings. For Aricia the audience feels happy
that she got her kingdom back, but they feel bad that she got pulled into all of this. She is very
much the innocent

Case 4 Magrec, Inc Essay
Case 4: MAGREC, Inc.1.) Place yourself in the role of the manager. What should you do now?
After considering what happened, would you change any of your behaviors? If I was Pat: Even
though Fred wants me to fire Dinah, I believe that if I was to fire her, Dinah would file a lawsuit
for wrongful discharge. My values and morals should not be the deciding factor in determining if
Dinah s actions are grounds for dismal. As such, I would meet with Fred, and explain to him the
result of my lunch meeting with Dinah. At this time I would request , and even demand if need
be, a meeting with the VP of Human Resources, Fred, Mr. Leed, the head of MAGREC, Inc. and

The BOP officer would report to the Board of Directors, would be independent of the senior
management team and would be responsible for investigating all matters and working with
Senior Management to implement corrective action as necessary. As previously mentioned, it is
more than likely that MAGREC s other customers will find out about this situation. As such, I
would also recommend that MAGREC host a meeting with all of the major customers at the
facility. MAGREC would then provide full disclosure, and provide MAGREC s solution to the
issue; establishment of quality control standards and independent verification / quality checks,
and the establishment of the BPO. If MAGREC tries to sweep this under the rug, it could be the
ultimate end of what once was a good company. If MAGREC leadership believes this matter is
resolved and no changes need to be made with regards to the company s culture, then I would
resign my position and find other employment. Looking back and considering what had happened,
I should have been more insistent with Fred that the matter be addressed with senior management
as the response from Fred, at the time of the issue or when the issue came to light, was not an
ethical or moral way to conduction business. I let my own beliefs become shaded by my need to
continue growing within the organization by not challenging the direction taken and hoping this
would blow over and things would be okay. I also could

Federal District Court History
A Brief History of the Creation of the Federal District Courts of Ohio
Roberta Alexander, author of a comprehensive history of the United States District Court for the
Southern District of Ohio, described the role of the district courts this way:
The district courts have evolved from local tribunals dealing with minor infractions and land
disputes into courts of tremendous significance dealing with essentially every major issue
confronting society: equal rights and equal opportunities in the political and economic arenas; the
scope of individual rights under the Constitution, including free speech, the free exercise of
religion, and the rights of privacy; the enforcement of federal laws, ranging from environmental

The judge was required to be a resident of the district and was to hold three sessions annually in
Chillicothe, which Congress had previously designated as the seat of state government. As then
current congressional practice did not include passage of a resolution of statehood for new states,
Congress did not formally admit Ohio as the seventeenth state. It was not until 1953 that President
Eisenhower signed a congressional joint resolution officially declaring March 1, 1803 the date on
which the Ohio General Assembly first convened as the date of Ohio s admission into the

Examples Of Masculinity In Love And Death
In the early Byzantine empire, martial ability became the yardstick against which a Roman male s
worthiness was measured. The hyper masculinity of the Roman army fed popular notions about
masculinity, with the Roman soldier typifying the ideal man: he was physically strong, brave,
fearless and self disciplined. These ideas were so pervasive that they were deeply entrenched in
people s perception of manliness not only at the bottom of the socio economic pyramid but at the
top as well. Even the Roman nobility, who occupied positions of leadership in politics and the
military, had subscribed to these notions of virility, seeing the need to project themselves as real
men in the public eye. One way that this manifested itself was how, until... Show more content on

Boris, the main character in the movie, is a meek pacifist with an inclination towards
intellectual pursuits; he is short and small, with a gentle physical appearance. These traits serve
as a cause for Boris to be judged as unmanly by other characters in the movie. This issue of
perceived masculinity is tackled by Allen from the beginning: Boris narrates to the audience
how, in Russia, his short height meant that he had never attained full manhood. But it is most
pronounced in the scene where the news of Napoleon s invasion of Austria has come to Boris
family, causing men to rejoice as they finally get the opportunity to taste the glories of battle .
His family wants him to fight, to which Boris response is his lack of belief in violence and war
as a solution. This induces condescension and laughter, and he is called a coward. Some begin to
give reasons for why he should pick up arms and fight: Who shall protect his sisters? And what
about Mother Russia? This was an essential component of masculinity as perceived then:
feminizing one s nation along with the idea that men are protectors of women, for whose safety and
protection men must engage in

Araby And Eveline Research Paper
James Joyce s Dubliners is an array of different short stories. Eveline and Araby are two of Joyce
s short stories that are widely appreciated for their literary values. These two short stories, Eveline
and Araby , are very similar in how both narrators seem to be in love with what characters that
seem to be somewhat distant. Eveline and Araby are also similar due to their failed attempts at
love, and the romantic illusions they have trapped themselves in. They are not entirely similar
however due to the fact that the boy in Araby understood he caused his own undoing, whereas in
Eveline , she did not blame herself. Also, the author, James Joycenotes that both protagonists in
these stories live in a brown house. The are also different because of the perspective each short
story is written in. Araby is told from a first person point of view, meanwhile, Eveline is written

Written in first person from the perspective of a young boy, Araby doesn t have quite the impact
that it s counterpart, Eveline has. Eveline however, is written from a third person perspective
from an older protagonist that deal with issue that are a bit more serious. In Eveline the
protagonist is afraid to run away from the past. Joyce expresses this well through his final two
sentences of the story She set her white face to him, passive, like a helpless animal. Her eyes
gave him no sign of love or farewell or recognition. This excerpt expresses the protagonists
feelings when she is committed to not getting on the boat. This scene exemplifies a moment in
which the protagonist seems to be in a slight shock as if the world around her is standing still. In
Eveline the protagonist chooses to live with her pleasant memories of her old family she grew up
with instead of unbounding herself from her currently abusive father, and running away to start a

Targeting Teen Girls
Too much Pressure on Teen Girls to have the Perfect Body. The perfect body for a teen in
America would be identified as a flat stomach, tan skin, thigh gaps, small waist, and curvy
figure. Clothes sizes are extra small t shirts, 00 pants/short. But the truth is, not everyone has
this so called perfect body. It does not help that big named band stores are influencing this.
Constantly girls are targeted to have a perfect body. Unfortunately, teen girls are overwhelmed
by the pressure to look a certain way in today s societyIf you were to go out and walk around the
city or even a small town, you would constantly see something or someone advertising weight
loss such as TV ads, weight loss ads, shakes, diet pills, books, and even apps. The models who
advertise done help either, they were paid to make the product look good and say it works. But
then again if it doesn t, we wonder why. Industries are targeting young teens because they know at
this stage in their lives, they are vulnerable, are worried about how they look, and are trying to fit

Business Collaboration, Rather Than Market Competition
IS BUSINESS COLLABORATION, RATHER THAN MARKET COMPETITION, BECOME
THE KEY TO SUCCESS? INTRODUCTION Today s fast growing market requires mutually
beneficial partnerships to gain creativity, experience, processes, technology and resources with
both right and left brain thinkers, that helps in achieving extraordinary achievements in lesser
time which technically framed as collaboration. By making partnerships or collaborating
externally, companies are able to innovate and get develop much more quickly and even create
solutions of too many problems with an effective and efficient way. (Mudge, et.al 2014)
Competition can be define as it is the rivalry among sellers who are trying to achieve same goals
such as increasing profits, market share and sales volume by varying price, product, distribution
and promotion (Wikipedia, 2014). In market competition, innovative business firms are ever
conscious of the competitors and have a constant look on differentiating their brand and product by
many different innovations and developments (Ukessays.com, 2014). With a happier working
team, collaboration represents an educated one. This is because it naturally inspires a sense of
community within an organization and employees feel almost like they are a part of a family.
Further, it also allows employees to learn from each other (Elcomcms.com, 2014). The worldwide
internet has been a fantastic enabler for greater collaborations. Social media channels allow
individuals to connect, discuss,

Sex Linked Genes
In some traits that are inherited, gender plays no role. However, there are three ways that an
inherited gene can be related to sex, which is what makes them similar. First, sex linked traits are
traits whose loci are on the sex chromosomes, meaning that their transmission from generation to
generation is affected by the sexchromosome complement of the individual. Secondly, sex
influenced traits are autosomal. Their genes are not carried on the sex chromosomes. Finally, sex
limited traits are generally autosomal, meaning that they are not found on the X or Y chromosomes.
Sex linked genes is caused by the differences in sex chromosomes between males and females.
They are linked because more males (XY) develop these traits than females (XX). This is because
the females have two X genes, which means they are able to offset the recessive trait. The trait is
more likely to be visible in the male. Genes on the X chromosome are all linked to each other. This
means that they are x linked. Due to the fact that females have two X chromosomes and males
have only one, X linked recessive traits are found more in males than in females. An example of
this is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These traits are phenotypically expressed in a unique way. This is because they are autosomal,
meaning they are not on the x or y chromosome. If a male has one recessive allele, this means that
he will show that trait, but it will take two recessive for the female to show that trait. An example
of this type of gene is baldness. This gene has two alleles. The products of these genes are
influenced by the hormones in the individual, one including testosterone. High levels of
testosterone cause the baldness allele to have a very powerful influence, and vice versa.
Testosterone is present in males and females, but males have much higher levels of it. Due to this,
the baldness allele in males behaves like a dominant allele. In females, however, it acts like a
recessive

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever Disease
Question and Evidence
What is the specific microbiology for the Rocky Mountain spotted fever disease? The foreground
information presented in the single study research article, Targeted Knockout of the Rickettsia
rickettsii OmpA Surface Antigen Does Not Diminish Virulence in a Mammalian Model System will
facilitate answering that question.
Findings/Answers to Question Those diagnosed with Rocky Mountain spotted fever, the most
severe type of spotted fever, have the rickettsia rickettsii bacterium to thank. This gram negative
obligate intracellular pathogen has varying levels of virulence, from avirulent to highly virulent,
and thus the severity of the disease differs among individuals. Highly virulent strains include the
Sheila Smith strain and an avirulent strain is the Iowa strain. Despite their virulence, various strains
of the rickettsia rickettsii pathogen have the potential to be transmitted to humans by arthropod
vectors, like ticks. The article also notes that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
rOmpA and rOmpA proteins are found across various strains of rickettsia rickettsii bacteriaand play
a role in pathogenesis through adhesion and invasion. It is noted that due to a premature stop
codon, rOmpA is not produced in the avirulent strains of the rickettsia rickettsii bacteria and thus, it
is thought that OmpA may play a role in virulence. This hypothesis was tested by inserting an
isogenic ompA mutant to create a premature stop codon into a guinea pig infected with the highly
virulent Shelia Smith strain. It was evident that this did not affect the duration or severity of illness
versus the control guinea pig. From these findings it was concluded, and as the title of the article
states, the rickettsia rickettsii OmpA surface antigen does not diminish virulence in a mammalian

The Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC)
In the art and literature memorializing the Civil Rights movement, no one individual is more
prominently represented than Martin Luther King Jr. . He is remembered in books, statues, and
even streets bearing his name in almost every city. One historian said, We trapped King in romantic
images... frozen his legacy in worship. King has become the martyr of the Civil Rights Movement
and his legacy has thus overshadowed the legacy of the other activists and groups who helped move
the Civil Rights movement forward, including the Student Non Violent Coordinating Committee,
an organization created by southern black youth. Though King s actions were powerful tools in the
push for racial equality, his efforts were only a part of the overall impetus driving the United States
towards equality. The Student Non Violent Coordinating Committee ( SNCC ) led activism in a
community based, long term protest fashion. At the same time the Southern Christian Leadership
Council ( SCLC ), the group led by Dr. King, used a media powered and more presentation based
protest method to rally Americans at the national level. Towards the end of the Civil Rights
Movement SNCC became more radical in its approach, eventually leading to its own demise, while
the SCLC stayed religiously peaceful. The different ideas and sometimes contradicting actions of
the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committeeand the Southern Christian Leadership Conference
eventually helped lead to the racial equality as we know it

The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the most centralized countries in the Middle East. Known
for its abundant oil supply, desert land, and strict adherence to Islam, Saudi Arabia is a culture that
is very different from those of Western nations. Analyzing the national and business culture can
prepare a Westerner for working in Saudi Arabiaand help them avoid intercultural conflict.
In 1932, King Abd al Aziz established the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Though he passed away in
1953, the monarchy continued through his sons. The Kingdom is located in the Middle East, with
the Persian Gulf to the East and the Red Sea to the West. At 2,149,690 km2 it is the 13th biggest
country in the world. Its location provides it with strong shipping capabilities particularly for oil
through use of the Gulf and the Suez Canal. The land is mostly uninhabited with dry sandy deserts,
plateaus and mountains which are subject to extreme hot weather. Possessing much of the world s
oil reserves, the country s culture has been shaped by this industry. The country also has large
natural gas reserves, and deposits of copper, gold, and iron.
The population consists of 90% Arabs and 10% Afro Asians. Its population is approximately
27.3 million, of which 30% (8 million) are immigrants. In terms of age structure, more than 60%
of the population is aged between 15 54 years old (Appendix 11.1). The life expectancy at birth is

Willy Loman In Arthur Miller s Death Of A Salesman
Roman fabulist, Phaedrus, once wrote, Things are not always what they seem; the first appearance
deceives many... Truthfully, one cannot properly understand a person. Generally, people have
preconceived ideas and will make erroneous assumptions about others. It is difficult for some to see
through a fictitious exterior that one might fabricate. For example, in Death of a Salesman, the
characters view of Willy Loman drastically changes over the course of the play. In the Death of a
Salesman, Arthur Miller exploits the audiences view of Willy s character throughout the play via his
interactions with others.
To start, Willy is first characterized as a successful, esteemed salesman. Willy would frequently
tell Biff and Happy of the admiration others had for him; for example, Willy informed his boys
of how he met the Mayor of Providence for coffee. When the boys were young Willy would
often mention his success any chance he got. Therefore, as children, Biff and Happy adopted
their father as a notable role model. Because of Willy s remarks, the boys viewed their father as
a very successful, well respected businessman. For instance, Willy told them, I never have to
wait to see a buyer....I go right through (Miller 21). Willy s incessant speeches of his success only
reinforced the flawless persona he had created. Willy had a tendency to exaggerate his mediocre
sales and success. The boys sole perspective of their father were the fictitious stories he told. In the

On the other hand, a business strategy is about building. Actually, the main goal is not to destruct
but at the opposite to build something in order to get earnings. In the same time, the way to get
through this objective implies to fight against different kind of enemies. As soon as we speak of
fight, we have to deal with plan and strategy. This mutual way of intellectualizing and rationalizing
a fight, which used to be instinctive for animals, is a very important concept.
Issue as a question form:
The principal difference between fighting for one s life and fighting for money allow us to ask the

Does an economic project can be managed as a war?
Announcement of the plan:
This demonstration is going to be developed through three different outlooks. The first one deals

Pulmonary And Systemic Heart
Homework # 1
1) The heart has four chambers, associated with the pulmonary and systemic circuit. It starts from
the systemic circuit by receiving blood to the right atrium and passing it to the right ventricle and
then pumps into the pulmonary circuit. Then it collects it at the left atrium and empties into the left
ventricle which pumps blood back to the systemic circuit. Arties carry blood away from the heart
and veins return blood to the heart.
The pericardial sac is also known as the fibrous pericardium, which surrounds the heart. It consists
of a dense network of collagen fibers, stabilizes the position of the heart and connected to the

Compare And Contrast The Book Of Hours
A book of hours was a Christian pray book, most popular in the 15th century. Books of hours
were the most common form of illuminated manuscripts seen coming out of the medieval
period. They were not for monks or university libraries but for ordinary people. They are small
and usually prettily decorated books. They were intended to be held in the hand and admired for
their delicate illumination rather than be put on a library shelf. Books of Hours were commonly
found in medieval households and used as a way to teach literary skills and religion. Each book of
hours was unique, while some are less extravagant than others they similarly contained Christian
texts, prayers, psalms, and told about saints. In most books of hours each page celebrated... Show

and their owners to be closer to religion, through the psalms and art that was contained inside
them and the devotional imagery they evoked, which was an important aspect of life in the 15th

The Power Of Nature In Willow Poem, And Complete Destruction
We cannot command Nature except by obeying her. said by philosopher Francis Bacon. The
meaning behind this famous quote is that human and no such things can fully control or overcome
the nature. We need to follow and accept the consequences of nature. Furthermore, this idea could
influence William Carlos Williams about the power of nature. An American poet, Williams Carlos
Williams was born on September 17, 1883, in his hometown, New Jersey. His first exposure to the
literature was when his father reveals the poems written by Shakespeare to him. However, he
decided to take the medical degree in the medical school at Pennsylvania regard to his parent s

As a modernist poets, Williams breaks from the traditional writing style and writes the poem
without any rhyme pattern. A short, descriptive poem consisting of two equal stanzas, Complete
Destruction contains no such words that could possibly rhyme with each other. Since the
beginning of the poem, Williams writes, It was an icy day, / We buried the cat, (1 2) neither the
word day nor cat rhyme with each other. In addition, Williams continues to maintain the poem
without any rhyme word at the end of each line. This continuation illustrates several purposes.
First, it creates no interesting sound which reveals the sense of sadness. This finally refers that
through the powerful destructive nature death is inescapable. Second, it shows the
discontinuation of sound which reveals the reduction of life that was created by the immense
power of nature. Likewise, Williams also reveals the destruction and elimination of the rhyme in
last two lines in Willow Poem . As presented in the poem, It is a willow when summer is over, / a
willow by the river (1 2) the last word of each line is rhyme with the next line and continue to
rhyme with each other throughout the poem. Nevertheless, this rhyme pattern is destroyed at the
end as stated the last to let go and fall / into the water and on the ground. (13 14). The last word of

Effects Of Social Media Addiction
Forest park students slowly wonder through the halls trying to make it to their next class. They are
oblivious to their surroundings because of their eyes glued to their social media apps on their
phones. It almost looks like they are zombies feeding their social media brains with their phones.
Every day students show the addiction to social media. Social media addiction is when people
cannot go a long time without going on social media. An example of social media addiction
would be a kid constantly checking their snapchat every few minutes for long periods of time.
Social media addictions is a very important and serious topic, which also comes with its effects on
people. Some include, health risks to the brain, social issues, and behavioral issues.
You may be surprised to know that according to a 2012 study posted on the national institutes
website, Internet Addiction disorder (IAD) ruins lives by causing neurological complications,
physiological disturbances, and social problems. This statistic shows that there are truly some bad
health issues that can come from feeding this to your brain. Just by going on your phone to look
at social media can cause very bad health problems, which seems like a small thing to do but that
sat shows it really does have a big effect.
To find out more about this, a reporter interviewed Kris Iwinski who is a 8th grade students mom

Persuasive Essay On Homeless Animals
Homeless animals out number homeless people nearly five to one, and roughly six to eight million
enter a shelter where approximately three to four million are euthanized. These animals deserve a
second chance; they don t deserve to be neglected and forgotten. The majority of animals in shelters
show up because of circumstances that surround their owners, such as families moving or the
owner being terminally ill. As opposed to purchasing a pet, you can adopt one that will fit well into
your life style. When adopting, rescuing, or fostering a pet, you provide a home to a loving, yet

Elements Of A Personal Protective Equipment Program
Personal Protective Equipment Program
The following report answers questions on a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program
project. It will briefly describe the different components of a PPE Program for a company called
ABC Plastics and outline the elements of a typical program.
Scope and Description of the PPE Program
ABC Plastics Company will access the workplace to identify and evaluate the hazards present or
potential hazards likely to be present which requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE). If the hazards are present or likely to be present, we will as far as it is reasonably
practicable remove or eliminate the hazards or exposure through engineering control. Where this is
not feasible, we will select the type of PPE that will protect the employee, require that the PPE is
used by the employee and communicate the selection decision to the employees.
The purpose of this PPE program is to protect our employees by ensuring that the workers are
trained on the use, and maintenance of the appropriate PPE. We will ensure that the PPE is
provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition due to the potential hazards
from workplace processes.
As part of the Health and Safety Orientation we will ensure that all employees and contractors are
initially trained in the use of the PPE relevant to their area of occupational responsibility, primary
work area and assigned task at the time of hire. Ongoing and refresher training in PPE will be made

The Political Spectrum Of South Africa
With the advent spread of the English language during the colonial conquests the world had
undergone a vast array of changes, and some of these changes that seems to have gone unnoticed
for some part is how deeply the English language has impacted and changed a country s identity
entirely. Then the question arises whether those changes are in fact beneficial or detrimental for
language acquisition and maintenance for future generations to come. This essay will focus on my
country of choice, South Africa, and will discuss how three different dimensions have been
impacted by the English language. I will first focus on the historical dimensions to gain a better
understanding of the circumstances within South Africa in the past and in today s context,
especially how the English language had arrived and completely shaped South Africa as a whole.
Furthermore, following the historical impact, this essay will go deeper into the political spectrum
of South Africa, and discuss how the country shifted from the Apartheid era to its contemporary
state. Lastly, I will discuss how the educational system has impacted the growing new generation
to get a clearer understanding of how the country has been changed to adapt to the more
globalised world that we live in now and will raise some questions about how language, being one
of the key aspects that makes us human, could be wilfully applied for coercion into a chosen form
of hegemony, and will thus demonstrate the importance of language in

mutations of Drosophila melanogaster
Michael Fisher, Tori Hall, Lindsey Theodore
Crosses carried out with Drosophila melanogaster can be used to determine mechanisms that
modify ratios of Mendelian inheritance, such as autosomal dominant and recessive inheritance,
genetic linkage, and epistasis. To identify the eye color phenotypes of two unknowns (U3 and U4),
crosses were carried out between the unknowns and flies with known eye color mutations (sepia,
white, cinnabar, scarlet, brown, and vermillion) and the F1 generations were observed. Thin layer

Indiana Bat Research Paper
After reviewing the U.S. Fish and Wildlife endangered species list (U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service 2017) for species near my home, I had found an endangered known as the Indiana bat
(Myotis sodalis). The Indiana bat is a medium sized species of bat that has a close resemblance to
that of the little brown bat. The Indiana bat is most commonly found around the great lakes region.
In the summer time the Indiana bat can usually be found in a forested habitat. While in the winter
they are known to hibernate as colonies in caves (Wildlife Department 2011). Upon researching
this species, I came across some reasons the Indiana bat is endangered. The most major threat that
the Indiana bat faces is human disturbance in hibernation caves during the winter. According to The
IUCN Red List (The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species 2016) researcher have found that Indiana

To start new laws and community would need to be put forth to ensure that the Indiana bat is not
disturbed during their hibernation in caves. One way to complete this is by working with the
local government to install gates to block access to the caves when the Indiana bat is hibernating.
Another way to help ensure the survival of this species would be to put forth community
education to help raise funds and awareness in finding cure for the white nose syndrome
(Animals Moms.me 2016). I do not believe that these change would not require that much
sacrifice from us humans in order to ensure the survival of this species. I do not believe the
extinction of this species would have a large negative affect on humans, but seeing as it is one of
many species of bat s currently affected by the white nose syndrome. With this issue in mind the
extinction of this species could cause a large misbalance within their

Primary Color Reflection
Jack Stanton in the movie Primary Colors reminded me a lot of President Bill Clinton. The way
he talked and his demeanor, and his charisma. After researching this movie I see that it is loosely
based on Bill Clinton s first presidential campaign in 1992. (Movie Primary Colors, 2013) The
movie starts with Governor Jack Stanton meeting with an adult literacy class. There is an adult
student there that gives a touching speech about his graduation day. He did not know how to
read and he was not able to graduate. His classmates snickered and laughed. He was humiliated
and he felt so bad for his mom to miss work and see this. Henry is the grandson of a civil rights
leader. Governor Stanton wanted Henry to be part of his staff. Henry is still trying to decide if
he will be joining this team as the campaign manager. He sees how Governor Stanton is weeping
with no shame. He sees this as a good quality in Governor Stanton. Henry contemplates if he
wants to be on Governor Stanton team. Governor Jack Stanton gives a speech about his uncle
that served the World War II and how he won a medal of honor. Several different companies and
schools approached him with several different opportunities when he returned home from the
war. He did not accept any of the offers because he was too ashamed to ask for help and be taught
how to read. Governor Stanton spends his time with the adult literacy class because he feels that

The Transition From Art Nouveau To Art Deco
English Decorative Arts: The Transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco
Parallels can be seen running throughout the two movements and the following essay highlights the
similarities and differences within the two styles and the causes of the fall from one and the rise of
the other.
Art Nouveau was likewise strongly influenced by the Pre Raphaelite movement which contained
prominent artists such as Edward Burne Jones and John William Waterhouse (Meagher, 2017).
This romantic style exhibited a return to nature; common themes were leaves, flowers, tendrils,
and insects. Whiplash curves and flowing lines were prominently featured. Art Nouveau
portrayals of women were erotic and sensual and many images depicted nudes and these images
were originally shocking to the public (Hoffman, 2017) . Artists preferred a pallet of natural
colours with soft muted tones of browns, olive greens, blues, and mustard yellow (Marinica,
2017). Advertisers procured these images and adopted the style to produce posters and newspaper
advertisements promoting a variety of goods. The Czech artist Alphonse Mucha produced works of
this type ( Alphonse Maria Mucha Complete Works 2017 , 2017).
Artisans of the Aesthetic movement advocated art for art s sake and created works purely for
beauty and never for function (Easby, 2017). James Abbot McNeil Whistler the artist who painted
Whistlers Mother, was associated with this genre ( James Abbott McNeill Whistler 1834 1903 |
Tate , 2017).

Independent of the genome screens, evidence suggests that the region on chromosome 15q11 13
contains a gene or genes relevant to Autism. (Dr. David Pauls 2003). Basically, there are
suggestions that the chromosome 15q11 13 is somehow mutated, deleted, or duplicated, causing
this disorder to transpire. In addition to genetics, environmental factors can influence Autism;
though they are not greatly supported ideas, they can t be entirely ruled out. In the UK there have
been reports of the measles vaccine having a part in causing this disorder. (Dr. David Pauls 2003).

It is the richer farmers who may derive relatively larger benefits because of their capacity to use
these allied inputs.
Subsidies to elementary education form about half of the total subsidies on general education.
However, this is not true for all individual States: the share of elementary education is lowest in the
high income States and the highest in the low income States (Goa, Punjab and West Bengal actually
give higher subsidies to secondary education than primary education).A negative correlation
between the level of per capita income and the share of subsidies to elementary education is thus
discernible. Most subsidies to higher education accrue predominantly to the better off sections of
society as they have an overwhelming advantage in competing out prospective candidates from the
poorer sections in getting admission to courses that are characterised by scarcity of seats.
For subsidies of health, the greater emphasis on curative health care expenditure often reflects a
bias towards the better off people whereas preventive health care expenditure with much larger
externalities would clearly be of greater help to the economically weaker sections of the society.

Analysis Of As I Lay Dying
Faulkner s Description of Dewey Dell in As I Lay Dying William Faulkner s phrasing, point of
view, and grammar in his polyphonic novel, As I Lay Dying, strategically employs the miserably
pessimistic yet juvenile voice of Dewey Dell to characterize her as the novel s naГЇve victim. The
only surviving female in the Bundren family, Faulkner presents the hardships that Dewey Dell must
endure. In addition, as an uneducated girl with no guidance, Dewey Dell experiences an uncertainty
in many issues that arise in her life.
Dewey Dell s diction in As I Lay Dying functions to unravel the novel s deeper themes of suffering
and selfishness. Burdened with an illegitimate pregnancy after having sex with Lafe, Dewey
Dell grieves alone as she is isolated in her guilt and shame. She views the world as a sickening
visceral pile of guts, implying that death is her only relief, furthering the theme of mortality. It is
interesting that Dewey Dell also describes her pregnancy as I am a little tub of guts and if there
is not any room for anything else important in a big tub of guts, how can it be room in a little tub
of guts. (Faulkner 58). Which implies the meaning of birth as a miserable duty, rather than a
joyful need. As the novel progresses, Dewey Dell works on past New Hope three miles. That s
what they mean by the womb of time: the agony and the despair of spreading bones, the hard
girdle in which lie the outraged entrails of events. (Faulkner 121). In the efforts to bury Addie in

Whats Eating Gilbert Grape Essay Essay
The movie Whats Eating Gilbert Grape, portrayed a beautiful family dynamic in a small town
called Endora. The film is narrated in Gilbert s perspective of how he understands his family and
cares for his brother Arnie, who has a developmental disability. As Gilbert shows many
adversaries in his life, he also shows strengths. Thus, the purpose of this essay will illustrate my
reflectivity of my personal story to Gilbert s. Additionally, the lens of a social worker will highlight
the Grape familys issues. In order, to understand the lack of support the family has and how to best
support them. Therefore, the importance of reflectivity allows opportunity for clients and social
workers to challenge self awareness and creativity of self care.
Personal Critique Prior to watching Whats Eating Gilbert Grape, I could not predict the severity
of the family dynamic. Nor could I prepare in advance. This is the same for Social Workers, when
family cases arrive Social Worker are not given all the information. Yet, I was calm and a little
excited to watch the film. Similarly, how I would feel when meeting my clients for the first time.
For instance, my calmness would show non judgmental and genuine approach. Also, my peak of
excitement shows my interest and investment in my client. Thus, I would more likely be able to
build better rapport with my clients if they see my true intent. At the beginning of the film, I noticed
the strong bond of the brothers, Gilbert and Arnie.

The Rise Of Asian Civilizations
Do you feel that Asian Civilizations from 1500 to 1700 veered towards modernity or careened back
toward traditional culture? From the 16th to 18th century, the prominent Asian Civilizations were
the Mughal Empire, the Ming Dynasty of China and the Edo Period of Japan. There was an obvious
trend that these empires leaned toward traditional culture mainly because of political influences.
Although there were also several aspects of each society such as the more important role of women
in the Mughal Empire, the interactions of the Jesuits with Chinaand Japan that might be indicative
of modernity or act as a precursor to modern values, the reversion of traditional culture in each
civilization is so much greater that it outweighed the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, farming lands were reclaimed, campaigns of reforestation were initiated, roads and
canals were paved and dug, and irrigation and flood prevention measures were constructed.
Instead of focusing on trading and commercialism like their previous Mongolian rulers, the Ming
reverted back to the traditional Chinese agrarian society. At around the 16th Century, the Edo
Period began in Japan, marked by the ruling of the Tokugawa Ieyasu over Daimyos, or feudal
lords. Because of his military strength, the Shogun was able to help restore the Imperial rule to its
former glory by granting lands to the royal family and creating a system that emulates tradition,
installing the Emperor as the head of Japan, when in reality it is but a figurehead. However, at least
it is ceremonially important and is considered upholding of traditional values. The Shogun also
banned Japanese from traveling abroad as well as completely isolating Japan from the rest of the
world after several disputes with Europeans and their Jesuits. This is why Japan remained largely
uninfluenced by modern Western Ideals until the 18th century. Another noteworthy example of
traditionalism in these civilizations is the presence of a strong caste system within their society. In
the Mughal Empire, the caste system of the Indians which make up the most of the population was
still in effect at that time.

Why We Need Early Warning Systems For Tornadoes
Matthew Hines
Mrs. Knoerr
ENG 103B
2 March 2016
Why We Need Early Warning Systems for Tornadoes Imagine sleeping soundly at night when a
sudden roar abruptly startles one from a deep sleep. In a drowsy state, one hears gust of wind, tree
branches snapping, and a strange sucking sound from the adjacent bathroom. In a split second, a
piercing siren begins echoing against the wind, warning all in the town that a tornado has touched
down. However, it s too late. Houses crumble into debris under the fierce twisting winds of the
funnel cloud. Roofs fly off and store signs become missiles as nature s fury does its worst. In the
aftermath, families search for news of neighbors and loved one. The local emergency services
works frantically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a definite need for improvements in meteorology to predict where and when these super
storms will occur and for development of an accurate alert system to inform citizens to seek
cover. According to Texas A M historian, Dr. Marlene Bradford, Benjamin Franklin realized as
early as 1753 ...the lack of communications hindered warning regions in a storm s path. (484)
Later efforts by weather expert, John Park Finlay of the Army Signal Corps, to predict tornado
formation were met with skepticism. Finlay wrote a specialized set of rules for tornado
predicting, which surprisingly were 95 98% accurate in 1884 (Bradford, 487). However,
government officials were afraid that severe storm prediction could result in widespread public
panic, and his research into predicting severe weather to prevent fatalities was squashed. No other
significant research was conducted until the 1930 s. Modern tornado predicting for the past
hundred years has been haphazard at best. The National Weather Service has invested a great sum
of money into research, but the results have been sporadic. Although tornado fatalities have
declined by 93% from 1925 data, the tornado warning time still does not prevent all fatalities
(Brotzge and Donner, 1715). Weather patterns change rapidly during a severe weather outbreak, but
meteorologists look for common indicators of tornadic activity. Relying on Doppler radar and other

  • 2. War Series By George Bellows Essay George Bellows War Series brought light to the Rape of Belgium, which involved the torture and mass slaughtering of Belgian citizens during WWI, while revamping his own lost sense of passionate and horrifically realistic subject matter and style. Bellows talent for painting this type of subject matter involving sensitive imagery made him the perfect candidate to portray the tragedies in Belgium happening during the time period. During WWI, German soldiers were assaulting Belgian citizens in what is now known as the Rape of Belgium. Belgian civilians were being tortured and slaughtered by Germans, and only a small portion of the rest of the world knew about it. Bellows War Series hoped to raise awareness of this horrific act and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His pieces showed the mass killings that took place by the hand of German soldiers as well. These horrific scenes were demonstrated in both The German s Arrive and Massacre at Dinant. The German s Arrive focused on German soldiers throttling a woman, while Belgian villages burned in the distance (Brock, 2012, p. 255). In a similar manner, Massacre at Dinant describes the killing of more than six hundred townspeople, including women and children (Brock, 2012, p. 255). • 3. Absorbance And Concentration Lab Report The formula for measuring concentrations (Molarity) is moles/ Volume. The molarity of the diluted sample is 3.5 x 10^ 6 M and the volume is .005 Liters. Then solve for moles by multiplying the two knowns the product is 1.75 x 10^ 8 moles. All existing moles came from the .001 Liters of the unknown sample. The moles should then be divide them the volume, which is 1 ml. The final answer of the unknown concentrationis 1.75 x 10^ 5 M. Absorbance and concentration are directly related. So if .1 M has an absorbance of .26, then a solution with 0.2 M must have an absorbance of 0.52. The formula to convert absorbance to transmittance is Transmittance = 10^ absorbance. The equation would be 10^ .85 and the transmittance would be .1412 or 14.12% Transmitted. Results and Discussion: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A lot of people think that robots will take over the world and take people s job, etc. Robots are being use to go to war and taking people s jobs. Robots are operating environment, the relatively high initial cost of robots means that they tend to be only used by large companies or in defence. It is unlikely that all the humans will be replaced by robots in any task, it is much more likely that fewer people will be needed because for many years robots will be assistants. Robots are usually thought of as being mobile but they don t have to be. For example, washing machines, dishwashers, and tumble driers can also be thought of as robots. The future is most likely to be one of productivity gains. They are trying to put brains and several sensors and actuators in robots. The technology has been available for many years. The advances happening in technology and it s becoming that evident that computers, machines, robots, and other things are going to be able to do most of the routine, and repetitive types of jobs. A lot of skills levels fall into that category. People with college degrees, even professional degrees, also lawyers are doing things that ultimately are predictable. • 5. Greek Tragedies in a Modern World Essay Greek Tragedies in a Modern World *Works Cited Not Included From the times of Aristotle to modern day Boal people have tried to come up with a definition of tragedy that encompasses all of the works they feel to be tragedies. However, there are always a few exceptions to their rules that make their thesis insubstantial. Those who define tragedies all have different elements that they say are necessary in classifying something as a tragedy. Unfortunately for us, no one definition has ever been settled upon that everyone agrees with. The one factor that does seem to be present in every interpretation of what is necessary in a tragedy is the catharsis that is brought up in the viewer. Without that emotional reaction, whether of pity,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By doing this, Racine made Phedre a more pitiable character with whom the audience is more capable of sympathizing. She is seen more as a incapacitated bystander rather than a ruthless, malicious offender. By reducing her offence to that of allowing Oenone to act, Racine gave the opportunity to pity Phedre because she was not directly guilty for Hippolytus death. Doing this enables the audience to look at her internal agony rather than pass over it because they are repulsed by her actions. He changed Hippolytus character so that he was actually in love for the first time with Aricia, rather than feeling nothing for any woman, so the whole element of female jealousy was introduced. By changing the story in these ways Racine shifts the characters that the audience feels pity for and makes the play easier to relate to. At the end of the play, the audience feels sympathy for Hippolytus because he is the innocent victim of both a mother s improper lust and a father s quick tempered stubbornness. For Phedre the audience feels sympathy for her dilemma; the fact that this all started because of Aphrodite s curse that was not her fault, and the fact that she was tormented by a love that could never be. They do not, however, pardon her actions, or lack thereof, that are a result of those feelings. For Aricia the audience feels happy that she got her kingdom back, but they feel bad that she got pulled into all of this. She is very much the innocent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The hyper masculinity of the Roman army fed popular notions about masculinity, with the Roman soldier typifying the ideal man: he was physically strong, brave, fearless and self disciplined. These ideas were so pervasive that they were deeply entrenched in people s perception of manliness not only at the bottom of the socio economic pyramid but at the top as well. • 13. Sex Linked Genes In some traits that are inherited, gender plays no role. However, there are three ways that an inherited gene can be related to sex, which is what makes them similar. First, sex linked traits are traits whose loci are on the sex chromosomes, meaning that their transmission from generation to generation is affected by the sexchromosome complement of the individual. Secondly, sex influenced traits are autosomal. Their genes are not carried on the sex chromosomes. Finally, sex limited traits are generally autosomal, meaning that they are not found on the X or Y chromosomes. Sex linked genes is caused by the differences in sex chromosomes between males and females. They are linked because more males (XY) develop these traits than females (XX). This is because the females have two X genes, which means they are able to offset the recessive trait. The trait is more likely to be visible in the male. Genes on the X chromosome are all linked to each other. This means that they are x linked. Due to the fact that females have two X chromosomes and males have only one, X linked recessive traits are found more in males than in females. An example of this is ... High levels of testosterone cause the baldness allele to have a very powerful influence, and vice versa. Testosterone is present in males and females, but males have much higher levels of it. It will briefly describe the different components of a PPE Program for a company called ABC Plastics and outline the elements of a typical program. Scope and Description of the PPE Program ABC Plastics Company will access the workplace to identify and evaluate the hazards present or potential hazards likely to be present which requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). If the hazards are present or likely to be present, we will as far as it is reasonably practicable remove or eliminate the hazards or exposure through engineering control. Where this is not feasible, we will select the type of PPE that will protect the employee, require that the PPE is used by the employee and communicate the selection decision to the employees. The purpose of this PPE program is to protect our employees by ensuring that the workers are trained on the use, and maintenance of the appropriate PPE. We will ensure that the PPE is provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition due to the potential hazards from workplace processes. As part of the Health and Safety Orientation we will ensure that all employees and contractors are initially trained in the use of the PPE relevant to their area of occupational responsibility, primary work area and assigned task at the time of hire. • 26. The Political Spectrum Of South Africa With the advent spread of the English language during the colonial conquests the world had undergone a vast array of changes, and some of these changes that seems to have gone unnoticed for some part is how deeply the English language has impacted and changed a country s identity entirely. Then the question arises whether those changes are in fact beneficial or detrimental for language acquisition and maintenance for future generations to come. This essay will focus on my country of choice, South Africa, and will discuss how three different dimensions have been impacted by the English language. I will first focus on the historical dimensions to gain a better understanding of the circumstances within South Africa in the past and in today s context, especially how the English language had arrived and completely shaped South Africa as a whole. Furthermore, following the historical impact, this essay will go deeper into the political spectrum of South Africa, and discuss how the country shifted from the Apartheid era to its contemporary state. Lastly, I will discuss how the educational system has impacted the growing new generation to get a clearer understanding of how the country has been changed to adapt to the more globalised world that we live in now and will raise some questions about how language, being one of the key aspects that makes us human, could be wilfully applied for coercion into a chosen form of hegemony, and will thus demonstrate the importance of language in ... Indiana Bat Research Paper After reviewing the U.S. Fish and Wildlife endangered species list (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service 2017) for species near my home, I had found an endangered known as the Indiana bat (Myotis sodalis). • 33. The Transition From Art Nouveau To Art Deco English Decorative Arts: The Transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco Parallels can be seen running throughout the two movements and the following essay highlights the similarities and differences within the two styles and the causes of the fall from one and the rise of the other. Art Nouveau was likewise strongly influenced by the Pre Raphaelite movement which contained prominent artists such as Edward Burne Jones and John William Waterhouse (Meagher, 2017). This romantic style exhibited a return to nature; common themes were leaves, flowers, tendrils, and insects. Whiplash curves and flowing lines were prominently featured. Art Nouveau portrayals of women were erotic and sensual and many images depicted nudes and these images were originally shocking to the public (Hoffman, 2017) . Artists preferred a pallet of natural colours with soft muted tones of browns, olive greens, blues, and mustard yellow (Marinica, 2017). Advertisers procured these images and adopted the style to produce posters and newspaper advertisements promoting a variety of goods. The Czech artist Alphonse Mucha produced works of this type ( Alphonse Maria Mucha Complete Works 2017 , 2017). Artisans of the Aesthetic movement advocated art for art s sake and created works purely for beauty and never for function (Easby, 2017). James Abbot McNeil Whistler the artist who painted Whistlers Mother, was associated with this genre ( James Abbott McNeill Whistler 1834 1903 | Tate , 2017). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Most subsidies to higher education accrue predominantly to the better off sections of society as they have an overwhelming advantage in competing out prospective candidates from the poorer sections in getting admission to courses that are characterised by scarcity of seats. Analysis Of As I Lay Dying Faulkner s Description of Dewey Dell in As I Lay Dying William Faulkner s phrasing, point of view, and grammar in his polyphonic novel, As I Lay Dying, strategically employs the miserably pessimistic yet juvenile voice of Dewey Dell to characterize her as the novel s naГЇve victim. The only surviving female in the Bundren family, Faulkner presents the hardships that Dewey Dell must endure. In addition, as an uneducated girl with no guidance, Dewey Dell experiences an uncertainty in many issues that arise in her life. Dewey Dell s diction in As I Lay Dying functions to unravel the novel s deeper themes of suffering and selfishness. Burdened with an illegitimate pregnancy after having sex with Lafe, Dewey Dell grieves alone as she is isolated in her guilt and shame. She views the world as a sickening visceral pile of guts, implying that death is her only relief, furthering the theme of mortality. It is interesting that Dewey Dell also describes her pregnancy as I am a little tub of guts and if there is not any room for anything else important in a big tub of guts, how can it be room in a little tub of guts. (Faulkner 58). Which implies the meaning of birth as a miserable duty, rather than a joyful need. As the novel progresses, Dewey Dell works on past New Hope three miles. Houses crumble into debris under the fierce twisting winds of the funnel cloud. Roofs fly off and store signs become missiles as nature s fury does its worst. In the aftermath, families search for news of neighbors and loved one. The local emergency services works frantically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a definite need for improvements in meteorology to predict where and when these super storms will occur and for development of an accurate alert system to inform citizens to seek cover. According to Texas A M historian, Dr. Marlene Bradford, Benjamin Franklin realized as early as 1753 ...the lack of communications hindered warning regions in a storm s path. (484) Later efforts by weather expert, John Park Finlay of the Army Signal Corps, to predict tornado formation were met with skepticism. Finlay wrote a specialized set of rules for tornado predicting, which surprisingly were 95 98% accurate in 1884 (Bradford, 487). However, government officials were afraid that severe storm prediction could result in widespread public panic, and his research into predicting severe weather to prevent fatalities was squashed. No other significant research was conducted until the 1930 s. Modern tornado predicting for the past hundred years has been haphazard at best. The National Weather Service has invested a great sum of money into research, but the results have been sporadic. Although tornado fatalities have declined by 93% from 1925 data, the tornado warning time still does not prevent all fatalities (Brotzge and Donner, 1715). Weather patterns change rapidly during a severe weather outbreak, but meteorologists look for common indicators of tornadic activity. Relying on Doppler radar and other weather ...
