Symbols Of True Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Are you bored with your choices of books at the moment? Looking for a good old love story?
Well Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare is a good book to read. It consists of different types of
issue, also to add into the mix, a little bit of comedy, drama and romance etc, too many to list!
Shakespeare uses conflicts, static characterization, and personification as symbols of true love.
Shakespeare uses conflict to show that the story Romeo and Juliet to show that the story is really
about true love. Romeo and juliet have just met. Romeo and Juliet have just met. Juliet is on her
balcony and Romeo is down below her balcony, meanwhile they just met 20 minutes ago and Juliet
says: Deny thy father and refuse thy name! Or wilt thou not be, but sworn ... Show more content on

Juliet is in the middle of a prologue when she says For wilt thou lie upon the wings of the night,
whiter than the snow upon a Raven s back. Come gentle night come, loving, black brow d night
give me my Romeo . (III.iii 18 20) That quote shows personification because Romeo is being
compared to snow on a raven s back. Juliet is also giving the nighttime un realistic features like
loving and gentle personalities. Also it is asking for the sky to bring her true lover to her. It
shows true love because she is asking something, yes an object, to bring her, her true lover and if
she didn t love him, she wouldn t have asked. Therefore that shows that Juliet has a true
compassion about loving Romeo. When Romeo first met Juliet, Juliet wonders how he entered
the gates community until her answered back saying: With love s light wings did i o erperch
these wall are no stop to me .(II.ii 66 70) The love isn t going to get through stone walls, this
quote shows personification because walls can and will hold you out, unless you have some
heavy machinery to get through them with. Romeo s choice of word show personification
because your Wings which no one has. Will Help you get over a stone wall. They aren t going to
do anything. Therefore it shows true love because he is trying to sound smart s Juliet will love
him. Those are great examples of personification because it shows how the personification that
Shakespeare uses is a symbol of true

Albert Bandura vs Raymond Cattell
Cattell was born in a small town in England. After seeing the deaths, and suffering of the people
and soldiers in World War I, Cattell began to have a huge curiosity in trying to fix the problems
people have in their lives by using science. Cattell was very big on personality, his definition of
Personality is that which permits a prediction of what a person will do in a given situation
(Cattell). Cattells definition of personality is very different from other theorist. Freud is a great
example; Freud s theory was that personality had three different types the id, the ego, and the super
ego. A person that has a strong personality can handle whatever happens to them and no matter how
tough the challenge is for them because they are so... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Theses models provide examples of behavior, for the children to observe and imitate. Children
tend to pay attention to most of the models. At a later time in the child s life they may imitate
the behavior that they are surrounded by. This can be related to nurture. Nurture means the
things that us, as humans see in our environment not something we are born with that comes
natural to us. Nature on the other hand is something that we inherit from our genetics. I agree
with the study Bandura conducted I feel as if we do have things that we are just born with, but I
feel like the things that tend to happen around us are really what influence us and make us the
way we are. I for one know that there are many things that I learned just from being observation
and watching adults and people that are older then me like my brother, I watched him do just
about everything and everything he did I wanted to copy and that s why I feel that we as
humans tend to be the people we are by the way we observe things. The movie Kumare is about
a fake guru, whose mission is to show people that gurus are not as real as people think they are.
Kumare is the person that Vikram plays to try and show his followers what they need to do.
Kumare is expressed in an act of if. Basically if you as a person think that something is true and is
something that you can relate to it no matter if the religious teachings are not true if you as a
person believe that it is true, then it is

Robert Pierce, Commonly Referred To As Bob, Was Born In
Robert Pierce, commonly referred to as Bob, was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1914. In his youth,
his family moved to Southern California, where he would stay through college. Pierce went to
Pasadena Nazarene College to prepare for ministry. In the mid 1930s, Pierce worked as a traveling
evangelist in California. Later, he settled in Los Angeles and got connected with the Youth for
Christ movement. He became a full time traveling evangelist for Youth for Christ in 1947. This
position allowed him the opportunity to go to Asia to evangelize to them American military serving
there.
In 1947, Pierce left for China. During this trip, he met a teacher named Tena Hoelkedoer. Tena

In 1970, Pierce founded another ministry, Samaritan s Purse. The purpose of Samaritan s Purse
is to meet emergency needs in crisis areas through existing evangelical mission agencies and
national churches. In 1973, Pierce met Franklin Graham. At this time, Graham was a young
student with a heart for missions. Graham reached out to Pierce and began to desire to hear all
of his mission stories. Pierce shared his experience with Graham and became like a mentor to
him. Graham was inspired, and in 1975, Pierce and Graham went on a tour to see the world s
neediest places ( About Us ). It was on this trip that Graham s heart was exposed and called to
meeting the needs of the people in these locations. This conviction was similar to the one that
Pierce experienced on his trip to Asia and for this reason he would eventually go into the same
type of work that he was doing with Pierce.
Robert Pierce died in 1978 of leukemia. Only a year after his death, Franklin Graham took over and
became the President and Chairman of the Board of Samaritan s Purse. Both World Visionand
Samaritan s Purse are still active ministries today. The story of Robert Pierce shows that one person
s conviction can manifest itself in powerful ways. Robert Pierce was not only a great evangelist, but
he was a profound leader who understood the importance of connecting and building relationships
with those around him. Pierce shows an excellent example of networking with organizations and

Islamophobia
Many people remember September 11, 2001 as a day when 19 Muslim extremists hijacked four
commercial airplanes and flew them into sundry buildings and areas across the United States.
This includes the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., a field in Pennsylvania, and the place where the
most damage occurred, the North and South Twin Towers in New York City. Over 3,000 people
were killed in these attacks, mostly workers in the towers and the Pentagon who were of all races
and religions including Muslims, Sikhs, and Hindus. Calamities like this should bring people
together so that they may comfort one another after a great loss. Instead, it drove people apart out
of fear of their safety in their own homes. People should remember this day as a tragic event that
took the lives of many innocent people, instead many Americans remember this day as the day the
Muslims attacked America. This is why Muslim Americans have become pariahs post 9/11 because,
of the amount of conflation that has occurred with Muslim Americans and Sikh Americans, the
amount of anti Islambehavior practiced in America involving various ideologies of Islam, and the
amount of disrespect shown towards Muslim Americans in America on a daily basis. Conflation
plays a big role in Muslim Americans becoming pariahs post 9/11. Conflation of certain religions
and races, is usually the product of ignorance in the religions and races that are conflated together.
Most people only know that on 9/11 there were 19 Muslims that

Becoming An Effective Writer
Every good writer needs a solid foundation to be successful. This is true for both professional and
informal communication. Your level of education is reflected in your writing style. If it contains
many grammatical errors and lacks structure it can be perceived that you are not a very good
writer. For years, I thought I didn t need any formal education. That was a big mistake that is now
in the process of being corrected. This course has started to help me communicate more efficiently
as a business professional and be more effective in my academic studies. Knowing the writing
process and carefully developing good writing habits are critical for growth as a writer. Over the
past several weeks I have embraced the challenge to refine my writing... Show more content on

In the past I would just write without using a rough draft or any prewriting process. I have
benefited greatly by employing the freewriting process in my assignments. A method that I find
especially helpful came from a handout for UNC Chapel hill. Here is how the process of
freewriting was described; When you free write, you can set a time limit and just write until you
reach that goal. You might do this on the computer or on paper, and you can even try it with
your eyes shut or the monitor off, which encourages speed and freedom of thought. The crucial
point is that you keep on writing even if you believe you are saying nothing. Word must follow
word, no matter the relevance. (The writing center) The key is take the extra time to plan and
review your writing. This has helped me to focus on using proper comma placement and
eliminate grammatical errors. Whether I am posting something on social media or writing on the
discussion board I have a better understanding of what my sentences should look like. Writing
can be difficult at times but when you use the right methods and processes it enhances the overall
experience. I had to write a resume for a job posting the other day and I immediately thought back
to this course as I edited and revised my essay. Using proper sentence stress and writing with
meaningful words was key to my resume. It is the simple forms of writing that can be

How Does Morrison Present Motherly Love In Sula
Motherly Love: Toni Morrison Sula
In the novel Sula (1973) by Toni Morrison, the concept of motherly love is very
prevalent. It also explored the difficult struggle of being a black woman. Morrison shows how
black women face a lot of difficulties in their everyday life. In the middle of the novel the author
points out the desperate measures the main characters goes through. As the novel continued,
Morrison focuses on how the will of black women and how they demonstrate their strength by
caring and sacrificing for their children. Toni Morrisons novel Sula presents a society where
it is hell to be a woman, especially of African descent in a society where there is little support.

World War I, he became addicted to heroin Eva did not want to see him like that so she took

Conquest Of Ai Analysis
The Conquest of Ai Joshua 7:1 9 outlines the initial failed attack on Ai. One possible reading is to
say that the omission of YHWH s voice in the attack is the reason that they were defeated. While
there is some truth that can be extracted from this, I think it s more beneficial to note that the text
attributes this failure to the poor military advice given to Joshua (Joshua 7:3). In addition, it is also
helpful to note the lack of reason given for the Israelitesneeding to take on Ai. Unlike the two
occurrences with Mosesthat I have already mentioned, Ai posed to no threat to the Israelites.
Unlike Jericho, YHWH gave no command regarding whether Ai was to be attacked or not. Verses

Because I think that it is an essential lesson for the nation of the United States to heed. We are
now that military force striking all over the world. We have done it so much that we have
masked God s voice because of our love for military activity. We send people out in his name we
bless the work that soldiers do, including the violence that they enact with others. If the United
States is truly 83% Christian, then I plead for more people to analyze this story of the Israelites
and the city of Ai, and that we learn the lessons clear to us from the text.
Military activity, particularly when it is unwarranted or for a single nation s benefit, silences
the voice of God in a society. The silencing of God allows for people to falsely speak on his
behalf. It s something that we have seen more clearly in modern times through the unrest in the
Middle East, but it has been a part of our culture for a long time now. This activity needs to cease
immediately, or we risk becoming a people who profess a loving God, and yet continually sow
destruction and violence into the world. And what kind of world are we living in, if God cannot

A Same Kind of Different as Me
Red River Parish, Louisiana is where this story of friendship begins. In this small town,
plantation farms covered the land along with cypress and hardwood trees. Here we meet the
first character, Denver Moore. Denver Moore is a slave, who knows his place in the world. He
knows that white people have more power than him and his fellow slaves and because of that he
avoids interaction with whites as best he can. In the first chapter, he risks his life by helping a
white woman change her tire. Because of this one act of kindness towards white woman, he is
dragged behind a horse with a rope around his neck by 3 boys not much older than Denver.
Incidents like this were common in the 1950s because slavery was still a big problem even after
President Abraham Lincoln declared all slaves free. Denver lives with his grandmother Big
Mamma and his grandfather PawPaw. He lives with his grandparents because his mother was too

Themes In The Necklace, By Guy De Maupassant
Introduction
The Necklace is a unique story, which serves as a lesson for all to learn; since life is
unpredictable, we ought to be content with what we have and who we are, no matter the
circumstances. The story by Guy De Maupassant, was well written and with clarity, transition
from one scene to another was brilliant, and speaks a volume about the significance of
contentment. The story which talks about Madame Loisel the wife of a clerk, and how her
desire and greed to be like the upper class, led her and her husband to ten years of rigid labor in
order to replace the missing necklace she borrowed from a friend to attend an extravagant party.
Theme
The theme that I observe in The Necklace , by Guy De Maupassant, is a pleasure seeking and
conceited wife of a clerk. The wife Mathilde who was married to a clerk that could not cater to
her elaborate life style created a for her a decent or luxury life due to scarcity can only imagine
those beautiful and expensive things start to develop self indulgence and pride. Exercising the
concept of self indulgence, envy her rich friend (schoolmate) and decide not to pay her a visit
since after going back to her own house is left with unsettling memories (Barnet et al, 2011). In
addition, Mathilde egotism and self indulgence led her and husband to a life of intense labor and
poverty, in order to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How do you expect these numbers to evolve over the second half of 2002? What is the problem
facing Williams? How did it get into this situation? How has it tried to address the problem it is

Reasons for financial distress and problems Williams is facing
a) Write off of investment in WCG
During the Tech Bubble, the whole telecom market that WCG was involved in suffered a lot of
problems due mainly to a large oversupply, as indicated by an estimated 2% to 5% of the fiber
optic lines which were only carrying traffic. The revenue of WCG eventually plummeted, wherein
prices of the lines decreased by more than 90% from 1998 and 2002.
In July 2002, the telecommunications sector was experiencing a lot of problems. WCG itself also
began to experience a lot of financial stress, and in hopes of supporting it, Williams converted
notes to shares, providing credit support of $1.4 billion of WCG s debt (which Williams listed as an
off balance sheet item). In the end, Williams took a one time accounting charge of $1.3 billion of
guarantees and payment obligations. The problems with WCG ended up affecting Williams as well,
causing Williams net income after extraordinary items to plummet.

Epiphanies in Joyce s Dubliners and Chaucer s Canterbury...
James Joyce s Dubliners is a compilation of stories that all rely on character epiphanies in order
to develop each story. These epiphanies change the tone of each story because each yields a
negative change or reaction. In both Araby and The Dead , the characters realize or learn
something about the world around them, which makes them second guess either themselves or the
reason behind their actions. Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales contains at least one tale that
relies on an epiphany to help develop theme but it doesn t change the tone or course of the story, it
just helps to portray the true meaning of the character. The Pardoner becomes a deeper character
because of his epiphany, which is what makes it important to the rest of... Show more content on

Another factor that could possibly have helped to cause the Pardoner s epiphany is the
pilgrimage, he feels the need to repent for all his hypocrisy and scams so his soul doesn t go a
blackberrying (pg 511, ll 78) when he dies. The Pardoner s epiphany doesn t change the course
or the tone of the tale in itself, because he continues to act the way he usually does in regards to
his relics and pardons. However, at the end of the tale the way he acts towards the travelers is just a
cover of how he is truly feeling.
The situation is different in Joyce s Dubliners. Each story involves an epiphany that causes the
character to have a negative outlook on life. It changes the tone of the story completely. For
example, in Araby a young boy has a negative experience at a bazaar, which alters his view of the
world. He just wanted to impress an older girl that he loved because she couldn t go to Araby at
all. He was so excited and mesmerized by the thought of the bazaar and possibly even winning
the girl s love, that even the syllables of the word Araby were called to me through the silence in
which my soul luxuriated and cast an Eastern enchantment over me (pg 17). However, the
atmosphere of Araby was the exact opposite of what the boy had been imagining because it wasn t
exotic at all. Plus, it was dark and empty because he arrived around

The Relationships between Service Quality and Customer...
From plentiful literatures we can see customer satisfaction is related to the quality both of product
and service. According to Regan (1963), he is one of the first to draw the relation between service
quality and customer satisfaction, and since that time service industry research has flourished for a
long time. Specifically, practitioners and academicians have been interested in how consumers
conceptualize servicequality. In the literature, the service quality construct is commonly defined as
a difference score (discrepancy) between the service quality that is delivered by a firmand the
service performance that customers expected to get (Gronroos, 1988; Parasuraman et al., 1985).
According to Cronin Taylor(1992), consumerperception of firm delivery of a desired service.
Greenwell, Fink, and Pastore (2002) made an experiment in measuring the impact that service
quality has on customer satisfaction. And the result shows satisfied service quality has a positive
correlation with customer satisfaction. Yoshida and James s (2010) argues that service quality
directly influences satisfaction with the service experience and that product quality also has
directly influences on customer satisfaction. The outcome of their study indicate that product and
service quality influence customer satisfaction, and in turn, customer satisfaction influences
customers shopping behaviors. And according to their study, one of the most important factor
concerning service quality

Inca Empire Research Paper
The Inca were once one of the most advanced societies and largest empires in the early 16th
century Americas. They had an expansive empire that spread throughout South America, including
what is present day Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and northern Chile. With a successful monarchical
government and large military system, the Incas also had complex irrigation systems and
technologies that were ahead of their time. The Spanish first arrived in 1527 while the Incas were
still a thriving society led by Huayna Capac who had kept the country unified. However, by the
early 1530s, there was a schism in the IncaEmpire between the two sons of Huayna Capac,

The Spaniards attempted to convert the Incas to Christianity but most Incas were confused by
the nature of the religion and did not want to participate. Hernando Pizarro observed how
religion and traditions were a large part of Inca life meaning they were unlikely to give it up.
When Atahualpa was presented with a Bible, he threw it on the ground and stated, I will not
leave this place until you have restored all that you have taken in my land. I know well who you
are and what you have come for. Atahualpa did not want to give up his religion and accept
Spanish beliefs like the Spaniards wanted him to. After the disbandment of the Inca people, the
Peruvian government was created by the Spanish, and the Inca were forcibly incorporated into the
Spanish colonial society. The Spaniards also erased Inca culture through replacement of Incan
architecture and traditions. The Inca had a distinct architecture that showed not only their
innovations like stone work and single rooms, but also their power in South America. Once the
Spaniards arrived though, the architecture of the Incas was lost and replaced with work of the
Spanish showing their power and wealth that they brought to South America. The Incas fancy and
elaborate cities were also looted by the Spaniards. Graves were raided and gold was stolen.

How Are The Population Policies Different Between India...
How are the population policies different between India and China?
Guifang Tang
Introduction China and India are the two countries which have the largest population in the world.
These two countries have many similarities, especially they have fabulous growing speed during
the globalization. In the global economic market, China has the biggest manufacture market and
cheap labor (Justin Paul Erick Mas.2016). India gained independence from the United Kingdom
from 1947 and started to focus on improving their food security and developing the technology of
agriculture, so India has the evidence dominate the service market from agriculture transfer to
service sector due to the globalization too in recently decades (Kedia Lahiri 2007). In the same
situation of China, the whole society focused on agricultural reforms since the 1970s. As two
fastest developing countries, China and India typically have a big number of population and cheap
labor for manufacture industries which gained a lot of attention around the world. Population in
one country could be the productivity power or the economic factor force of developing. On the
other side, it could be the main reason of hinder the development. So this paper will directly
analysis these two nations population policy, in addition, based on their different society contexts
and culture value, analysis the population problem and social issues around the policy.

Effects Of Violence In Macbeth
Modern Macbeth: How Media Violence Affects Society
There seems to be so much violence in modern media that people are worried. It is believed that
it could be very dangerous that this violence being displayed to a public audience has become a
social norm, although, violence in media is definitely not a new idea. In Shakespeare s play,
Macbeth, Macbeth is a successful warrior who helps his country of Scotland defeat the
Norwegians. One day, Macbeth and his loyal best friend Banquo are walking when they hear three
witches speak about their futures. They stop to listen as the witches continue on about their bright
futures ahead, including the prophecies that Macbeth will become king as well as Banquo s sons.
After hearing this, Macbeth and his wife, Lady Macbeth, decide that they need to take matters into
their own hands and do whatever it takes to be king. Macbeth goes to the greatest extremes and
kills several people throughout his journey with the greedy goal to obtain more power. Violencehas
been around since even before Shakespeare wrote Macbeth, but it did not seem to be as big of an
issue as it is now. Violence in media can be really dangerous in many cases because of the effects
of people s attraction to fictional violence, the suggestion that violence has become acceptable over
time, and it is desensitizing the youth.
A large population of people seem to enjoy fictional violence whether it be a scary movie such as,
Psycho, or video games such as, Call of Duty. There

The Big And Small Of It All
Carroll
Carroll 6
The Big and Small of It All Lewis Carroll?s novel, Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland, has
captivated readers for decades. From England?s Victorian Age to the present day, Carroll?s work
remains a priceless treasure for all who have fallen in love with Alice and become immersed in the
world of Wonderland. Although Lewis Carroll?s Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland is classified as
children?s fantasy, the novel also explores the difficulties adolescents face as they mature, including
the emotional struggles of self identity and physical maturity, loss of innocence, and an enduring
conflict between childhood and adulthood.
The central theme in Alice?s Adventure?s in Wonderland revolves around growing up and

Throughout the novel, Alice is unsure of what to expect with regard to her physical appearance
and is constantly in a state of confusion over the dramatic changes in her body: ?How puzzling
all these changes are! I?m never sure what I?m going to be, from one minute to another!? Alice is
left disoriented as she undergoes physical changes in her body and wonders: ?if she was different
from who she was before, who is she now??4 Alice?s experiences in Wonderland show how
adolescents, mainly women, are forced to adjust to unexpected changes and adapt to fit into the real
world.5 The theme with Alice growing and shrinking into different sizes is relatable to many young
women as they experience the ups and downs of adolescence.6 As Alice learns throughout her
journey in Wonderland, discovering her true self is not always easy and can sometimes be quite
intimidating. Two particularly frightening moments for Alice in this struggle are her encounters
with the Caterpillar and with the Pigeon. The Caterpillar demands to know, ?Who are you??, a
question that both confuses and disturbs Alice because she does not even know the answer
herself.7 Alice again shows uncertainty regarding her identity when asked by

Loss Of Innocence In Eugenia Collier s Marigolds
In Eugenia Collier s short story, Marigolds, the loss of innocence is described with the protagonist
s claim that innocence involves an unseeing acceptance of things at face value, an ignorance of the
area below the surface (Collier 6). Similarly, all members of society must eventually make the
transition from youthful children to mature adolescents. Recently, however, the rate at which
children mature has increased rapidly, due to the increasing influence of the media and society on
individual lives. The loss of innocence is caused by developing awareness of the suffering, danger,
and pain encountered in life, as shown through Lois Lowry s novel, The Giver; Jason Yu s poem,
Tears; and Nicoletta Ceccoli s painting, Love will tear us... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yu writes that a young 5 year old girl weeps in a city without care./Without anyone to save her
from her sins [...], exposed to beatings, not knowing that such behavior is normal (Yu Lines 7 8).
Due to the child s very young age, readers can assume that her loss of innocence must have been
influenced by external pressures from the media and society. As this child weeps in the middle
of an ignorant city of people, she feels conflicted because of her inability to define reality; she is
aware of the presence of dangers in the world, but is unable to let go of her childhood memories
involving fun and happiness. The young child now understands the concept of no magic, and
that the fairytale is dead [...] [Similarly,] this princess knows nothing of childhood./But rather the
bitter sorrows of the darkened morrow (Yu Lines 16 18). Although she understands the concept
of no magic (Yu Line 16), this girl holds on to the last shred of hope that she has to keep her
childhood memories alive. By writing that the girl knows the bitter sorrows of the darkened
morrow (Yu Line 18), Yu contrasts the girl s memories with the reality around her, showing the girl
s naiveness to the realities of the world. Finally, as the young child bleeds inside as though all was

Essay on To what extent is experience necessary for face...
It has been claimed that experience plays a crucial role in the development of face processing
(Kelly, Quinn, Slater, Lee, Ge Pascalis, 2007, p.1084). To what extent is experience necessary for
face processing? Support your argument with empirical evidence.
There is much debate on the subject of experience in regards to face processing. Some say that
experience is wholly important in face processing while others say that face processing is innate
and will develop without experience. It has been argued both that face processing is a perceptual
process organized at birth and that it originates in a more general process that becomes specialized
due to experience of different faces (Sugita, 2009). It may be that there is an innate ... Show more

They were then asked to decide whether they were the same or different when upright and
inverted. Deprived patients distinguished faces from the featural set normally, but were
significantly impaired for the configural set. These results indicate experience is indeed necessary
for the normal development of face processing; specifically configural processing of faces. They
also suggest that when visual input is delayed by only two months, there are permanent deficits (Le
Grand et al., 2001).
It has been hypothesized that there may be a critical/sensitive period for certain aspects of face
processing to develop. Inferences from several data imply that there is a sensitive period and that
it is between the first 6 to 12 months of life (Mancini et al., 1994). Nelson (2001) proposes that
regions within the brain have the potential to become specialized for face processing and then when
the face perception apparatus becomes tuned by exposure to faces, this specification includes:
recognizing gender, age and emotional information. Sugita (2009) also suggests that there is a
sensitive period for face perception; as selective experiences significantly affect later development
of face processing. Although this theory has been inferred many times it is ultimately unknown for
how long this period may last. However, the concept of a sensitive period certainly supports the

death sentence for his hated enemy. Along the gloomy and huge corridors, Fortunato reveals his

The Strategy Of Offering Free Food Essay
The strategy of offering free food to the poor will require minimal investment since the company
is already involved in the catering industry. To identify the deserving beneficiaries, the company
will register all of them using the help of the local authorities. The beneficiaries will be issued
with cards that will allow them to access the service at any outlet of the company. This will
ensure that the company s activities are not interrupted, as the beneficiaries will be served just
like any other customers. The supply of the foodstuffs to be used will be derived from the
company s stores; this will ensure that the consumables on the company s shelves are always
fresh. Additionally, the company will utilize its transportation capacity to supply the food material
to the designated areas. To cut down on the expenses, the company will encourage part time
volunteer services to help with the preparation and serving of the foodstuffs. The company is
already operating a food store, and therefore, the need for legal paperwork will be minimal. The
company will seek all the necessary documents to ensure that the exercise is conducted within the
law. To jumpstart the project, there is a need to have several kitchens where the food preparation
will be conducted. Additionally, the company will use its shops to serve the registered beneficiaries.

Case Study Draft2 Abstract A case study is a situation of events that involves a real or
hypothetical scenario that includes real life problems if ever one to occur. Case studies are one
of the most beneficial problem solving techniques a business can invest in because they can help
improve decision making and help to identity flaws in current systems. Analyzing case studies
requires critical thinking and knowledge of the subject in order to predict the outcome. For any
business to learn from a case study the best practice is to be put in a situation, but to understand
the value acting it out as if it s really happening is where it is effective. The case study The
Olympics and the risks that comes with it below details the issues of risk and how critical thinking,
knowledge and patience can apply to mitigate threats that can have significant impact.

Plurality And Pluralism In Islam
Based upon my further observation as a scholar and a Muslim, I find a lot of incompatibility about
your interpretation of Islam with the Qur an. The Qur an implies that all religions shall be more
emphasis on pluralism (diversity and tolerance), and I do believe in it. According to my
understanding on pluralism in Islam, it emphasizes more to the religious tolerance, and does not
view Islam as the only religionto be recognized in the world. Pluralism I meant here also can
simply be recognized as a major foundation in maintaining the state and the society because
basically people are diverse one another. As a true pluralism means acknowledging that all
members of society have a right to be able to embrace the religion in which accordance with their
beliefs and everyone is obliged to respect and honor them (as cited by Munawar, 32). Not only

I am Coral and I live about 5000 feet below sea level in the Coral Sea. During the week of May 4
8, 1942, the first air sea battle in history took place as I watched from below. Japan was looking
to control the Coral Sea by taking all of New Guinea and the Solomon Islands to remove all of
the Allied bases between Japan and Australia. They also wished to take over and destroy the
American navy s aircraft carriers since they were not able to do so in the Battle at Pearl Harbor.
On the 3rd of May, the Japanese occupied Tulagi island and set up a seaplane base. The next day,
the Allied forces, led by Rear Admiral Frank J. Fletcher, launched strikes against Tulagi. The
attack eliminated the Japanese use of the base which sparked the beginning of this battle. The
Yorktown sunk a Japanese destroyer and five merchant ships and join the Lexington later that day.
May 6th, Australia spotted the Japanese but failed to shoot it down. They both continued to
search for each other unsuccessfully due to partial visibility in the area of operations. Admiral
Fletcher decided to separate his forces so that one was more susceptible to Japanese air attack
without being under any coverage. Although, neither American force was successful in finding the
Japanese forces, the Japanese aircraft was able to find and sink several U.S. ships and aircrafts.
On May 8th, the Japanese and the Allies found each other and launched all accessible aircrafts. The
Japanese shot down the Yorktown and the Lexington with bombs and torpedoes. At the same time,

Narrative Designer Paul Crocker s First Entry In The Arkham
Taking it one step further with Batman Arkham City
When Arkham City was released on October 11th, 2011 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the
PC, it was to a different climate than Arkham Asylum, with gamers everywhere highly
anticipating the sequel. Arkham City marks the first Arkham game to be released on a Nintendo

to the WiiU, and we will take a closer look at them later in this article. Paul Dini returns to pen
Arkham City s story, however, Game Director Sefton Hill became increasingly more involved in
the writing process. In addition, Lead Narrative Designer Paul Crocker joined them, and the trio
had big plans for the sequel with big being the operative word. Arkham City features a bigger
roster of enemies, and unshackles the game from the confines of the Asylum, setting Batman free
in an expansive open world. As a result, the influences of Metroid and Zelda became more diluted.
In my opinion, Arkham City is the first entry in the Arkham series as we have come to think of it....

Universal Design For Learning Within Educational Environments
Education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the
strengthening of respect for human rights... promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among
all... (The United Nations, 1948). As emphasised by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights,
education is an inalienable right, and until it is proven that a student will not benefit from or is not
stimulated by being in school, it must be assumed that they are gaining some value from the
experience. Indoctrinated within Universal Designfor Learning (UDL) framework is the need for
teachers to shift from primarily hosting students with additional educational needs, to extensively
engaging them in a fruitful education. Under the principles of Universal Design for Learning,
educators venture to create these meaningful learning experiences as a result of employing
innovative educational mechanisms that ensure the participation of everyone. This essay aims to

Sir Isaac Newton Cause And Effect
Cause and Effect: Sir Isaac Newton
We build too many walls and not enough bridges. Greetings, I m Sir Isaac Newton, the famed
scientific discoverer of gravity. My childhood was anything but stable. Three months after my father
died in 1642, I was born a small, premature infant on January 4th, 1643 in Lincolnshire. My mother
remarried when I was 3 and left me with my grandmother. I hated my stepfather, and despised my
mother for marrying him, even threatening to burn their house down. In school, I found my solace
in books, particularly in science and mechanics. In my first year of college at Cambridge

Research Paper On The Rihanna-Chris Brown Dating Abuse
Modern media is very powerful in influencing today s world. They use this power to influence
people s opinions and convince them to believe anything that they write or said. With the many
different media platforms there are in today s society, we have decided to look a bit deeper into
the news media platform of tabloids and magazines. Specifically how media frames dating abuse
when it first becomes publicized. We decided to focus our Final Research Paper on the Rihanna
Chris Brown dating abuse incident in 2009. The Rihanna Chris Brown scandal all started when
the couple were traveling by car and an argument broke out. This argument lead to a physical fight
when Chris Brown physically let his anger out on Rihanna by hitting her. Almost every magazines
and talk show started writing and talking about it. This scandal became a very hot topic of
conversation, and almost everyone had something to say about it. We found that in a lot of these
comments and discussions we heard to be focused on victim blaming, Rihanna s abuse being
objectified, sexualized and romanticized. These are unacceptable comments for many tabloids and
magazines to be putting into their publications. Not only does this normalize the abuse towards
Rihanna but many times it distracts from the real hard facts about this case. Rihanna was abused
and that fault is falling onto her from what we are seeing in the tabloids and magazines. We have

The Rules Of Oppression By Friedrich Nietzsche
The Rules of Oppression For this assignment, I was asked to create an essay demonstrating my
knowledge from the semester, by elaborating on the topics discussed in class on philosophers of
morality. The philosopher that maximized my attention was Friedrich Nietzsche. Per Internet
Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Nietzsche wrote on on truth, morality, language, aesthetics,
cultural theory, history, nihilism, power, consciousness, and the meaning of existence.
(Wilkerson) Nietzsche s work on morality, titled Master and Slave Morality implemented
questions I have pondered in regards to the choice of who controls power in the world, because
it is often that those control power assumed their position by bullying those who pose a threat,
thus inciting an inferior feeling. A question that reoccurred while studying Nietzsche was how
do the people who are forced in to his master/slave complex break free of their master s grips?
The answer to my question is also in Nietzsche s work, and is titled Transvaluation of Values.
Transvaluation of Values occurs when the slave class over throws or resists their masters, (a flip
in power structure) therefore those who are placed in the roll of slaves due to their values, and
beliefs will continue to break free of their oppression, because of the opportunity named

Virginia Woolf s Of Human Bondage
Of Human Bondage is, as we all know, written from Philip s point of view, and therefore we
sympathize with Philip, care about what goes on his life, and even feel attached to him. But, if
the story had been written from say, Mildred s point of view, we may not feet the same about
Philip. Chances are, his characterization would be completely different because of how Mildred
views him, and we would probably grow to dislike Philip as much as we learned to dislike
Mildred. Many have heard the saying, history is written by the winners, meaning we more
commonly sympathize with the winners because it is they who got to tell the story, and we learn
to dislike the opposing side, the way we dislike the British of the Revolutionary, the way we dislike

We would have been able to understand her thoughts about Philip, her odd distaste for him, how
she genuinely felt about the German man she left Philip for. We may view Philip in a different
light, as a weak, easily manipulated man, or as a man who didn t care, didn t understand her
situation. While we would still, most likely, see the faults in Mildred, the way we did with
Philip, we would probably think of them in a kinder way. After all, we all disliked Mildred when
she left Philip, who clearly loved her, to be with the German man. Yet, is that not what Philip
did do Nora, who really did love him? The two characters have many similarities, yet we view
one as good, and one as bad. Both raised by people other than their parents, both concerned with
money, both easily distracted, both in love just, not necessarily with each other. They both
turned to others for money when they were struggling; Philip wishing his uncle would die,
Mildred begging Philip for help. Neither of these characters are exactly good people, but they are
seen as opposing forces of good versus evil. It is in this way that, through perspective, we choose
who are the good people, and who are the bad. If Of Human Bondage had been written from a
different point of view, it is likely that we would have

How Might Group Members Particular Ethnicity Or Culture...
How might group members particular ethnicity/culture (as you understand it) influence group
dynamics and communication styles or patterns in the group? Give examples Whenever a
person is apart of a group they are able to have a greater effect on the group rather than if they
was not apart of the group. For example if the Yankees baseball team needed advice on how to
itch against the batter it is likely that the Yankees would take a advice from a pitcher on their
team rather than take advice from the opposing team. This concept can be used with members of
cultures. I am more likely to be heard from a black organization, because I am black and there is a
cultural bond. As I understand a member of a cultural group might influence group dynamics,

Should Sports Players Be Allowed To Draft Players Essay
One question that many people ask is, should pros be allowed to draft players before they
graduate, most people don t agree with this. Although many sports team draft players before
they graduate would it affect the player s future. There are a lot of things that the player should
think about, if they are going to have a good rookie season, should he leave earlier so he doesn t
get a career ending injury, and if their ready for the challenge . The reason why players should
get drafted earlier in sports before they graduate is that they can make some amount of money at
a young age, for example if they had a great rookie season like the football star Odell Beckham
they could start to make a lot of money at a young age, and maybe in the future

It has been seen as the most widely utilised mode of entry towards rapid international expansion
and is primarily employed by fast food chains such as KFC, Wendy s, Kenny Rogers, A amp; W
and McDonald s among others followed by consumer service businesses such as hotel chains and
car rental, agencies such as Avis and Hertz. Franchises are basically ongoing business
relationships which involves 2 components (the franchisor and the franchisee). The franchisor
(the owners of the business format) issues a licence through an agreement which allows the
franchisee the right or privilege to distribute the goods and services that represents the franchisor
s brand and business system for an agreed sum (royalty or fee) (Doole amp; Lowe, 2008). In
other words, franchising allows the rapid growth or market expansion using a proven business
format (intellectual property of the franchisor) it also allows the assistance in the form of capital
as well as the fervour of a group of network operators that enhance the market positioning of the
franchisee which would not be possible for a new business without huge capitals (Dugan, 1998).
The basics of franchising involve the following elements which are most commonly found in most
franchise agreements. These factors are common, but not compulsory as it depends on the mutual
understanding between the franchisor and the franchisee.

different types of violent crimes and property crimes that exist. The differences between the two
crimes and there impact on the United States. The statistics of violent crime compared to property
crime in the year 2012. There are many things that may surprise you when it comes to the crime
rate in 2012 compared to 2011 and before then.
Violent crime vs. Property crime I am going to begin by discussing the violent crime. There are 4
main classes of violent crime. These classes consist of: Murder and Negligient Homicide, Forcible
Rape, Robbery and Aggravated Assault. These crimes are usually defined as offenses that include
force or the threat of force. The violent crimes are listed under the FBI s Uniform Crime Reporting
(UCR) program. There are other crimes which classify as violent crimes, these include: Burglary,
Larceny theft and Motor Vehicle theft. The FBI uses a system to classify crimes from the worst
crime, Murder and Negligient Homicide, being at the top of the list, and the least serious crime,
Motor Vehicle theft, being at the bottom of the list. One crime which is listed on both violent
crimes and property crimes is Arson, depending on the circumstances surrounding the offense at the
time.
Murder and Negligient Homicide: The FBI classifies Murder and negligient homoicide as: when a
person is willfully killed by another. There

Immanuel Kant s Formalism Theory
Kant s Formalism Theory The theories of Immanuel Kant, a German philosopher, have had an
impact on the formulation and shaping of ethics today. Immanuel Kant graced this earth from 1724
to 1804. During his eighty year life time, he formulated many interesting ideas regarding ethical
conduct and motivation. Kant is strictly a non consequentialist philosopher, which means that he
believes that a person s choices should have nothing to do with the desired outcome, but instead
mankind simply goes about doing good because it is morally correct. Kant theorizes that moral
reasoning is not based on factual knowledge and that reason by itself can reveal the basic
principles of morality. Ideas contemplated and developed and theorized by... Show more content on

If you want to reach a specific goal, then you will accomplish these tasks. On the other hand,
categorical laws apply to everyone. Regardless of goals or desired outcome, the categorical
imperative commands unconditionally. (Shaw, 67) Kant developed another idea which
exemplifies that of the categorical imperative. The principle of universal acceptability states that
as rational, moral beings, individuals are bound by logic and its demands. Because logic is
consistent, individuals all live by the same moral law. in order to determine whether a rule is a
moral law, we can thus ask if the rule commands would be acceptable to all rational beings acting
rationally. (Shaw, 67) Kant s view of universal acceptability appears to be intertwined with
echoes of the golden rule. Another famous theory developed by Kant further explaining the
categorical imperative is the idea of humanity as an end and never merely as a means. Individuals
should never treat someone a special way in an effort to get gain. In other words, Kant developed
the theory we hear in nursery school of, treat others as you would like to be treated. Logically, this
theory states that rational beings recognize their worth and the worth of others. As a rational
thinker, one would not want to be used as a means to an end. Immanuel Kant s formalism theory
poses many compelling and interesting points of view. On the surface, the categorical imperative
seems to be a great measuring device

Theme Of Death In The Masque Of The Red Death
The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection.
(Thomas Paine). The two stories Masque of the red death and Flight there is a discussion of
finding oneself as well as there virtues. In the story Flight , the main protagonist, Pepe has
trouble growing into the man his mother expects of him and is considered lazy. By the end of
the story though Pepe finds his way to becoming a man when it was needed, but learns the hard
way. In Masque of the Red Death, a deadly plague is rampaging society. While this is occuring the
upper class throw a party to forget and distance themselves away from the widespread agony taking
place. The characters ethics must be called to question and it is to be determined whether or not
they deserved death ultimately. Edgar Allan Poes Masque of the Red Death and John Steinbeck s
Flight both use different sources of conflict to convey the idea of facing Reality and
Disillusionment.
In both stories the characters go through internal conflict where they are met with disillusionment.
In Masque of the Red Death , the main character is going through an internal conflict. In the party
that was thrown, there came yet another chiming of the clock, and then were the same disconcert
and tremulous and meditation as before (Poe). It can be perceived that the chime of the clock was a
way of demonstrating death catching up to the main characters. This shows the internal conflict of

Fear During The Cold War
The Cold War (1941 91) was a time of political and military tension between Soviet Russia and the
United States. During this time, there was a great deal of fear between the 2 international
superpowers as they both possessed nuclear weapons capable of wiping each other out. The
Americans were in constant fear of Communismand Soviet spies. The paranoia was exacerbated by
some politicians who suggested that Soviet spies were everywhere. This fear made some
Americans to accuse their own neighbors of being Communist sympathizers.

Essay about Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
Many women that become pregnant are unaware of the consequences of drinking alcohol during
pregnancy and the damaging effects it has on the fetus. When a woman who is pregnant drinks
alcohol, the baby is also drinking alcohol. Furthermore, the amount of alcohol that is consumed by
the mother is the same amount the baby receives through the mother s placenta. Many doctors
advise that it is okay for the mother to have an occasional drink, however, some women cannot stop
at one drink, and they continue to drink in excess throughout their pregnancy. Still, even moderate
consumption of alcohol is not wise, because it is still unknown how much alcohol the fetus is able
to tolerate without potential harm. Consequently, a fetus that has been... Show more content on

During the last trimester of pregnancy, the fetus lungs and liver are maturing, and the unborn baby
s liver is unable to handle any level of alcohol. At these stages it is critical for the mother to refrain
from drinking alcohol, in order to ensure the health of the baby. Some effects to the fetus of
drinking alcohol during pregnancy are: prenatal growth retardation, specifically, facial deformities,
and a tendency to be smaller in weight, length, and head circumference. In addition, alcohol causes
neurodevelopment defects and central nervous system dysfunction to the unborn baby. FAS infants
are also at an increased risk for many common birth defects, including congenial heart disease,
abnormalities of the urinary tract and genitals, and spina bifida. Although these abnormalities are
not specific to FAS, they do assist in the diagnosis of the problem.
Many recent studies are claiming that alcohol damages some parts of the brain more than others,
targeting particular biochemical pathways vital to the development, function, migration, and
survival of certain nerve cells. Further research is being done to help find ways that will block
some of alcohol s harmful effects on the fetus. One study has identified specific effects on
molecules that regulate development and others that participate in cell signaling (Christensen 3).

Each department division of labor must consist of teams that cooperate with each other. The
department divisions we will talk about in detail are: training, construction and store design,
research and development and marketing.
The construction and store design teams must work closely together because when building a new
Tim Horton s restaurant the store appearance is just as important as the location. Construction team
responsibilities begin with choosing a place where building is most convenient for customers to
making blueprints in order to see what the Tim Horton location will look like from the inside and
outside. Once this procedure is complete, designer team starts developing a plan of what the store
will look like on the inside. Their task includes color schemes, flooring, accessories and many
others. Once the new location is complete, the owner of that location must go through training in
the National Training Center. This training takes about seven weeks and teaches the requirements
and techniques addressing the question of how to run Tim Horton s successfully. The training
program exists so that owners of each location can improve their operational excellence in food
handling and hygiene procedures, control over financials and employee relations.
In order to maintain customer satisfaction and attract new customers Tim Horton s offers many
products and beverages to their customers. When wanting to introduce a new product the research

Importance Of The Fifth Amendment
The fifth Amendment Everyday, people wait in a courtroom for a verdict by the grand jury. Once
the jury determines the verdict, the person being tried is not allowed to be tried again without new
evidence. The concept above, is used and enforced in the courts through the fifth amendment. The
fifth amendment is an important amendment because it ensures due process of law, free from self
incrimination, free from double jeopardy, indicted by a grand jury, and the government has the right
of eminent domain (Froseth). The fifth amendment has many parts to it. Each part helps society
function. One case that made the fifth amendment important was Miranda Vs. Arizona. In Miranda
Vs. Arizona, a man named Ernesto Miranda was arrested and brought to jail. While in jail,
Miranda was forced to speak against himself. During this time, Miranda was not read his rights
making him believe that the his fifth amendment right was violated. Miranda brought his case to
the supreme court where it ruled in his favor. The court decided that the fifth amendment of self
incrimination was violated and that police officers are required to tell suspects that they have
certain rights while being questioned and arrested. (Miranda). This case changed American history.
Every police officer now needs to tell everyone in custody you have the right to remain silent,
anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law... (Miranda Rights). Because
Miranda brought this case to the courts,

Side Effects Of Depressants
Depressants are psychoactive drugs that temporarily diminish the normal function of the brain and
central nervous system (Depressant Drug Abuse and Side Effects, 2017). These drugs include
opiates and opioids, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, tranquilizers, and alcohol. Due to their effects,
these drugs can sometimes be referred to as downers. These drugs come in multicolored tablets
and capsules and sometimes in liquid form. Regular use of any of these drugs can lead to drug
tolerance. That means that the body adjusts to them and it takes a higher and higher dose to
achieve the desired effect. Dependence also can develop from drug use, meaning symptoms of
withdraw will occur if the person discontinues taking the drug all of a sudden. Depressants... Show

Someone who is sleepless and anxious may turn to barbiturates for a desirable effect. However,
one of the reasons that people die on barbiturates is that the dose that will kill a person is not that
much more than the dose that will help them sleep (Barbiturates Effects, 2017). When an
individual overdoses on barbiturates, they can experience side effects such as shallow
respiration, clammy skin, a weak and rapid pulse, and lastly, possibly die from an overdose.
Teens may abuse barbiturates so they can experience the drunken feeling. They may not fully
understand that this can be a deadly drug. When taken in a small dose barbiturates may relieve the
individual s anxiety and tension. As they increase the dose to a somewhat larger dose, in a tranquil
setting the drug will induce sleep. In contrast, when that same large dose is taken in a social
setting, however, it can cause effects similar to when a person is drunk. Barbiturates are primarily
used as sedatives for treating insomnia and as anticonvulsants. When used in high dosages,
barbiturates can be used in the operating room as anesthetics. But as technology progresses and new
medicine is introduced, barbiturates is used less now than in the

Odysseus and Penelope Essay
Odysseus and Penelope
Odysseus and Penelope are the best two example of what it really means to be human because of
their great courage to overcome all obstacles for a greater cause. There is not one true definition on
what it means to be human, but the most knowledgeable definition of human is to be created in the
image of God. The attributes that really set humans apart from all the other animals on earth are
imagination, reason, and will. These three human faculties make us who we are because we have
the ability to counter plate our own mortality. Dr. Davis stated, You cannot love another person

In book five Odysseus is presented with a very great and tempting barrier. Calypso confronts him
with this statement, But if you only knew, down deep, what pains are fated to fill your cup before
you reach that shore, you d stay right here, preside in our house with me and be immortal. She
promised him that he would possess a trait that no other human in the odyssey has, immortality.
Even though her offers are very tempting and would be self fulfilling, he promptly rejects because
all he wants is to go home and the love of his life, Penelope. This act alone shows that he was
willing to give himself and up for a greater cause. He showed great discipline and faithfulness to
reject Calypso s offer and to continue on his journey home. At the beginning of the epic,
Odysseus did have one flaw that could have been detrimental to his homecoming journey and
that was self glorification. By the end of the Odyssey, Odysseus overcame his pride and
tempered it with patience because at the end of the day he didn t really know that Penelope
would be waiting on him, but he was willing to put in the effort to find out what was at the end of
the road. Penelope, just as Odysseus, portrayed the great human trait of patience. She did what it
took to fend off the suitors with hope that her husband would come back for her. Penelope didn t
give up hope because she felt in heart that Odysseus would come

  • 2. Symbols Of True Love In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet Are you bored with your choices of books at the moment? Looking for a good old love story? Well Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare is a good book to read. It consists of different types of issue, also to add into the mix, a little bit of comedy, drama and romance etc, too many to list! Shakespeare uses conflicts, static characterization, and personification as symbols of true love. Shakespeare uses conflict to show that the story Romeo and Juliet to show that the story is really about true love. Romeo and juliet have just met. Romeo and Juliet have just met. Juliet is on her balcony and Romeo is down below her balcony, meanwhile they just met 20 minutes ago and Juliet says: Deny thy father and refuse thy name! Or wilt thou not be, but sworn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Juliet is in the middle of a prologue when she says For wilt thou lie upon the wings of the night, whiter than the snow upon a Raven s back. Come gentle night come, loving, black brow d night give me my Romeo . (III.iii 18 20) That quote shows personification because Romeo is being compared to snow on a raven s back. Juliet is also giving the nighttime un realistic features like loving and gentle personalities. Also it is asking for the sky to bring her true lover to her. It shows true love because she is asking something, yes an object, to bring her, her true lover and if she didn t love him, she wouldn t have asked. Therefore that shows that Juliet has a true compassion about loving Romeo. When Romeo first met Juliet, Juliet wonders how he entered the gates community until her answered back saying: With love s light wings did i o erperch these wall are no stop to me .(II.ii 66 70) The love isn t going to get through stone walls, this quote shows personification because walls can and will hold you out, unless you have some heavy machinery to get through them with. Romeo s choice of word show personification because your Wings which no one has. Will Help you get over a stone wall. They aren t going to do anything. Therefore it shows true love because he is trying to sound smart s Juliet will love him. Those are great examples of personification because it shows how the personification that Shakespeare uses is a symbol of true ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After seeing the deaths, and suffering of the people and soldiers in World War I, Cattell began to have a huge curiosity in trying to fix the problems people have in their lives by using science. Cattell was very big on personality, his definition of Personality is that which permits a prediction of what a person will do in a given situation (Cattell). Cattells definition of personality is very different from other theorist. Freud is a great example; Freud s theory was that personality had three different types the id, the ego, and the super ego. Theses models provide examples of behavior, for the children to observe and imitate. Children tend to pay attention to most of the models. At a later time in the child s life they may imitate the behavior that they are surrounded by. This can be related to nurture. Nurture means the things that us, as humans see in our environment not something we are born with that comes natural to us. Nature on the other hand is something that we inherit from our genetics. I agree with the study Bandura conducted I feel as if we do have things that we are just born with, but I feel like the things that tend to happen around us are really what influence us and make us the way we are. I for one know that there are many things that I learned just from being observation and watching adults and people that are older then me like my brother, I watched him do just about everything and everything he did I wanted to copy and that s why I feel that we as humans tend to be the people we are by the way we observe things. The movie Kumare is about a fake guru, whose mission is to show people that gurus are not as real as people think they are. Kumare is the person that Vikram plays to try and show his followers what they need to do. Kumare is expressed in an act of if. Basically if you as a person think that something is true and is something that you can relate to it no matter if the religious teachings are not true if you as a person believe that it is true, then it is ... • 6. Islamophobia Many people remember September 11, 2001 as a day when 19 Muslim extremists hijacked four commercial airplanes and flew them into sundry buildings and areas across the United States. This includes the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., a field in Pennsylvania, and the place where the most damage occurred, the North and South Twin Towers in New York City. Over 3,000 people were killed in these attacks, mostly workers in the towers and the Pentagon who were of all races and religions including Muslims, Sikhs, and Hindus. Calamities like this should bring people together so that they may comfort one another after a great loss. Instead, it drove people apart out of fear of their safety in their own homes. People should remember this day as a tragic event that took the lives of many innocent people, instead many Americans remember this day as the day the Muslims attacked America. This is why Muslim Americans have become pariahs post 9/11 because, of the amount of conflation that has occurred with Muslim Americans and Sikh Americans, the amount of anti Islambehavior practiced in America involving various ideologies of Islam, and the amount of disrespect shown towards Muslim Americans in America on a daily basis. Conflation plays a big role in Muslim Americans becoming pariahs post 9/11. You might do this on the computer or on paper, and you can even try it with your eyes shut or the monitor off, which encourages speed and freedom of thought. The crucial point is that you keep on writing even if you believe you are saying nothing. Word must follow word, no matter the relevance. (The writing center) The key is take the extra time to plan and review your writing. This has helped me to focus on using proper comma placement and eliminate grammatical errors. Whether I am posting something on social media or writing on the discussion board I have a better understanding of what my sentences should look like. Writing can be difficult at times but when you use the right methods and processes it enhances the overall experience. One possible reading is to say that the omission of YHWH s voice in the attack is the reason that they were defeated. While there is some truth that can be extracted from this, I think it s more beneficial to note that the text attributes this failure to the poor military advice given to Joshua (Joshua 7:3). In addition, it is also helpful to note the lack of reason given for the Israelitesneeding to take on Ai. Unlike the two occurrences with Mosesthat I have already mentioned, Ai posed to no threat to the Israelites. Unlike Jericho, YHWH gave no command regarding whether Ai was to be attacked or not. We have done it so much that we have masked God s voice because of our love for military activity. We send people out in his name we bless the work that soldiers do, including the violence that they enact with others. If the United States is truly 83% Christian, then I plead for more people to analyze this story of the Israelites and the city of Ai, and that we learn the lessons clear to us from the text. Military activity, particularly when it is unwarranted or for a single nation s benefit, silences the voice of God in a society. The silencing of God allows for people to falsely speak on his behalf. It s something that we have seen more clearly in modern times through the unrest in the Middle East, but it has been a part of our culture for a long time now. This activity needs to cease immediately, or we risk becoming a people who profess a loving God, and yet continually sow destruction and violence into the world. In this small town, plantation farms covered the land along with cypress and hardwood trees. Here we meet the first character, Denver Moore. Denver Moore is a slave, who knows his place in the world. He knows that white people have more power than him and his fellow slaves and because of that he avoids interaction with whites as best he can. • 13. Themes In The Necklace, By Guy De Maupassant Introduction The Necklace is a unique story, which serves as a lesson for all to learn; since life is unpredictable, we ought to be content with what we have and who we are, no matter the circumstances. The story by Guy De Maupassant, was well written and with clarity, transition from one scene to another was brilliant, and speaks a volume about the significance of contentment. The story which talks about Madame Loisel the wife of a clerk, and how her desire and greed to be like the upper class, led her and her husband to ten years of rigid labor in order to replace the missing necklace she borrowed from a friend to attend an extravagant party. • 15. Epiphanies in Joyce s Dubliners and Chaucer s Canterbury... James Joyce s Dubliners is a compilation of stories that all rely on character epiphanies in order to develop each story. These epiphanies change the tone of each story because each yields a negative change or reaction. In both Araby and The Dead , the characters realize or learn something about the world around them, which makes them second guess either themselves or the reason behind their actions. Geoffrey Chaucer s Canterbury Tales contains at least one tale that relies on an epiphany to help develop theme but it doesn t change the tone or course of the story, it just helps to portray the true meaning of the character. The Pardoner becomes a deeper character because of his epiphany, which is what makes it important to the rest of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another factor that could possibly have helped to cause the Pardoner s epiphany is the pilgrimage, he feels the need to repent for all his hypocrisy and scams so his soul doesn t go a blackberrying (pg 511, ll 78) when he dies. The Pardoner s epiphany doesn t change the course or the tone of the tale in itself, because he continues to act the way he usually does in regards to his relics and pardons. However, at the end of the tale the way he acts towards the travelers is just a cover of how he is truly feeling. The situation is different in Joyce s Dubliners. Each story involves an epiphany that causes the character to have a negative outlook on life. It changes the tone of the story completely. For example, in Araby a young boy has a negative experience at a bazaar, which alters his view of the world. He just wanted to impress an older girl that he loved because she couldn t go to Araby at all. He was so excited and mesmerized by the thought of the bazaar and possibly even winning the girl s love, that even the syllables of the word Araby were called to me through the silence in which my soul luxuriated and cast an Eastern enchantment over me (pg 17). However, the atmosphere of Araby was the exact opposite of what the boy had been imagining because it wasn t exotic at all. Plus, it was dark and empty because he arrived around ... According to Regan (1963), he is one of the first to draw the relation between service quality and customer satisfaction, and since that time service industry research has flourished for a long time. Specifically, practitioners and academicians have been interested in how consumers conceptualize servicequality. In the literature, the service quality construct is commonly defined as a difference score (discrepancy) between the service quality that is delivered by a firmand the service performance that customers expected to get (Gronroos, 1988; Parasuraman et al., 1985). According to Cronin Taylor(1992), consumerperception of firm delivery of a desired service. Greenwell, Fink, and Pastore (2002) made an experiment in measuring the impact that service quality has on customer satisfaction. And the result shows satisfied service quality has a positive correlation with customer satisfaction. Yoshida and James s (2010) argues that service quality directly influences satisfaction with the service experience and that product quality also has directly influences on customer satisfaction. It is believed that it could be very dangerous that this violence being displayed to a public audience has become a social norm, although, violence in media is definitely not a new idea. In Shakespeare s play, Macbeth, Macbeth is a successful warrior who helps his country of Scotland defeat the Norwegians. One day, Macbeth and his loyal best friend Banquo are walking when they hear three witches speak about their futures. They stop to listen as the witches continue on about their bright futures ahead, including the prophecies that Macbeth will become king as well as Banquo s sons. After hearing this, Macbeth and his wife, Lady Macbeth, decide that they need to take matters into their own hands and do whatever it takes to be king. Macbeth goes to the greatest extremes and kills several people throughout his journey with the greedy goal to obtain more power. Violencehas been around since even before Shakespeare wrote Macbeth, but it did not seem to be as big of an issue as it is now. Violence in media can be really dangerous in many cases because of the effects of people s attraction to fictional violence, the suggestion that violence has become acceptable over time, and it is desensitizing the youth. It has been claimed that experience plays a crucial role in the development of face processing (Kelly, Quinn, Slater, Lee, Ge Pascalis, 2007, p.1084). To what extent is experience necessary for face processing? Support your argument with empirical evidence. There is much debate on the subject of experience in regards to face processing. Some say that experience is wholly important in face processing while others say that face processing is innate and will develop without experience. Greetings, I m Sir Isaac Newton, the famed scientific discoverer of gravity. My childhood was anything but stable. Three months after my father died in 1642, I was born a small, premature infant on January 4th, 1643 in Lincolnshire. My mother remarried when I was 3 and left me with my grandmother. I hated my stepfather, and despised my mother for marrying him, even threatening to burn their house down. In school, I found my solace in books, particularly in science and mechanics. In my first year of college at Cambridge University, my mother returned and tried to make me a farmer, but farming was boring and derivative, so my uncle brought me back to school and I studied color, light, alchemy, history, and religion, particularly the Bible. With the many different media platforms there are in today s society, we have decided to look a bit deeper into the news media platform of tabloids and magazines. Specifically how media frames dating abuse when it first becomes publicized. We decided to focus our Final Research Paper on the Rihanna Chris Brown dating abuse incident in 2009. We found that in a lot of these comments and discussions we heard to be focused on victim blaming, Rihanna s abuse being objectified, sexualized and romanticized. These are unacceptable comments for many tabloids and magazines to be putting into their publications. The philosopher that maximized my attention was Friedrich Nietzsche. Per Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Nietzsche wrote on on truth, morality, language, aesthetics, cultural theory, history, nihilism, power, consciousness, and the meaning of existence. (Wilkerson) Nietzsche s work on morality, titled Master and Slave Morality implemented questions I have pondered in regards to the choice of who controls power in the world, because it is often that those control power assumed their position by bullying those who pose a threat, thus inciting an inferior feeling. A question that reoccurred while studying Nietzsche was how do the people who are forced in to his master/slave complex break free of their master s grips? The answer to my question is also in Nietzsche s work, and is titled Transvaluation of Values. Transvaluation of Values occurs when the slave class over throws or resists their masters, (a flip in power structure) therefore those who are placed in the roll of slaves due to their values, and beliefs will continue to break free of their oppression, because of the opportunity named Transvaluation of Values. Chances are, his characterization would be completely different because of how Mildred views him, and we would probably grow to dislike Philip as much as we learned to dislike Mildred. While we would still, most likely, see the faults in Mildred, the way we did with Philip, we would probably think of them in a kinder way. Kant is strictly a non consequentialist philosopher, which means that he believes that a person s choices should have nothing to do with the desired outcome, but instead mankind simply goes about doing good because it is morally correct. Regardless of goals or desired outcome, the categorical imperative commands unconditionally. (Shaw, 67) Kant developed another idea which exemplifies that of the categorical imperative. The principle of universal acceptability states that as rational, moral beings, individuals are bound by logic and its demands. Because logic is consistent, individuals all live by the same moral law. in order to determine whether a rule is a moral law, we can thus ask if the rule commands would be acceptable to all rational beings acting rationally. (Shaw, 67) Kant s view of universal acceptability appears to be intertwined with echoes of the golden rule. Another famous theory developed by Kant further explaining the categorical imperative is the idea of humanity as an end and never merely as a means. Individuals should never treat someone a special way in an effort to get gain. In other words, Kant developed the theory we hear in nursery school of, treat others as you would like to be treated. Logically, this theory states that rational beings recognize their worth and the worth of others. As a rational thinker, one would not want to be used as a means to an end.
