Inchon was destroyed, United States ground forces moved upwards. On September 25th of 1950,
the North Koreans took back Seoul so the United States released an air raid on the North Koreans.

William Edward Burghardt Du Bois was one of the most important activist in the early 20th
century. He was born February 23, 1868 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. In 1885 Du Bois
came across his first encounter with the Jim Crow laws. He went to Harvard to receive his
masters and before completing his masters he was offered an opportunity to study abroad in Berlin.
Du Bois is known for many of his accomplishments such as being one of the most important civil
rights activist, professor of sociology, historian, writer, and editor.
In 1884 Dubois mother passed away forcing him to find a job. The principal of his high school
helped him find a job in the local mill. In 1885 DuBois was given a scholarship to attended Fisk
University in Nashville, Tennessee, there is where he first encountered the Jim Crow law. In order
for him to get through school money wise, he had to help teach others in the more poor areas of
Tennessee during his summer breaks. The experience of the Jim Crow law which legalized
segregation between blacks and whites, is what caused him to want to become an activist.

serve for life. This premise, combined with the natural population growth among the slaves, meant
that slavery could survive and grow even after slave imports were outlawed in 1808. This was one
of the first instances of race translating itself into political power in early colonial America.
By the middle of the 18th century slavery was widely accepted in the colonies. There was no way
to hide it, between 1680 and 1750 the proportion of slaves in America grew from 4.6 of the
population to over 20 percent. In the southern colonies slavery went from about 5 percent to 40

The Unites States has made some changes to the way we handle Security with respect to the
effects of 9/11. We began to be much more vigilant looking at every aspect of transportation from
enhancing our airline security, railroad to include maritime operations. One particular area of focus
is our ports and how we support our trade and make it safer against the threat of another terrorist

Biography of Niels Bohr, The Danish Physicist Essay
Harald became the first of the Bohr brothers to earn a master s degree. Niels earned his 9 months
later. The students in his class had to submit a thesis on a subject assigned by their supervisor.
Bohr s supervisor was Christiansen, and the topic he gave them was the electron theory of metals.
Bohr then elaborated his master s thesis in to his much larger theory Doctor of Philosophy thesis.
He questioned the literature on the subject ,settling on a model assumed by Paul Drude and
elaborated by Hendrik Lorentz ,which stated in which the electrons on a meta; are considered to
behave like a gas. Bohr enlarged Lorentz model, but still unable to account for singularities like the

His 3 papers, which later became famous as the trilogy were published in the Philosophical
magazine in July. Later in the year He revised Rutherford s nuclear structure to Max Planck s
quantum theory and created the Bohr model of the atom. He revolutionized the theory of electrons
traveling in orbits around the atoms nucleus. He also announced the idea that an electron could
drop from a higher energy orbit to a lower one, in the progress also emitting a quantum of discrete
energy. This theory became known as the old quantum theory. The trilogy s acceptance was dur to
it s ability to explain the phenomena which blocked other models ,and predicted the results that
were then verified by experiments. Today the Bohr model of the atom has been outdated but is still
known as the best model of atoms, and is still used in high school physics and chemistry.
Bohr soon realized that he did not enjoy teaching the medical students. He decided to return to
Manchester, where Rutherford had offered him a job as a reader in Darwin s place, whose contract
had expired, Bohr accepted. In April 1917, Bohr began a campaign to establish an institute of
Theoretical Physics. He gained the support of Danish government and Carlsberg Foundation,
establishing the institution in November 1918 known as the Niels Bohr Institute, the doors were

TUESDAY This Tuesday is entirely different from the time I was born. Rather than passing by
without much happening, this Tuesday starts the beginning stages of recovery. This Tuesday is
the hangover as the result of Monday s poor decisions. As the day passes, you begin to feel
better, but it s a long, bumpy road ahead of you. On a Tuesday there is a long wait until the much
desired Friday and Saturday, but it s an inevitable step in the right direction. I am twenty one and
it is Tuesday. The depression pills did not work as I had hoped they would. There is no such thing
as a miracle drug. After a month I refused to take them any longer. I felt like my pills were
controlling my life so I was also weaned off the bloodpressure medicine treating my migraines. I
only remained on the two medications I absolutely needed: Synthroid for my Hashimoto s
disease and omeprazole for my acid reflux. I felt like I was beginning to take back control of my
life. For some, this probably seems like a minute, irrelevant change in a world of chaos. But for
those who are forced to live by their medications, especially at such a young age, this is a very
large step in regaining freedom. I no longer feel as though my doctors, doctor s appointments,
medications, and medical testing control my life. Another step toward full recovery has been
finding new meaning in my life since many of the old ones disappeared after high school. Without

Public education was first introduced to the United States in 1635 with the opening of the Boston
Latin School (Boston, MA). The one room, boys only schoolhouse, was the work of Reverend John
Cotton and focused on teaching humanities and family virtues (Boston Latin School, 2015). As
society evolved, the educationsystem continually developed and made advancements. The end of
the eighteenth century marked an emergence of common schools, which provided education for
wealthy students. By the mid eighteenth century, the focus of education shifted from teaching
virtues to a focus on academics, and by the early 1900s compulsory attendance laws were enacted
in most states (The American Board, 2015).
Public education has been prevalent in the United States for more than 400 years, but the use of
technology in education is a relatively new concept (Suzie, 2011). The overhead projector was first
introduced into the classroom in the 1930s, followed by headphones, videotapes, and copy
machines in the 1950s. In 1972, the Scantron was introduced, and by the late 1980s personal
computers for teachers appeared in the classroom. Early technology changed the education system
by reducing the amount of time teachers spent grading and preparing and allowed teachers to
provide students with more immediate feedback (Purdue University, 2016).

Complications Of Government Corruption
Introduction: If we read the News today, we could see that the government all over the world is
corrupt. According to US Legal, government corruption is when government leaders abuse their
political power to extract and accumulate for private enrichment (US Legal, Inc.)[1]. Technically,
this is a bad thing because when government leaders use their power for their benefit, it does not
necessarily mean that it is beneficial to the public and the society. To prove or disprove this
argument, I decided to run an econometric analysis to see whether government corruption hinders
or helps economic development. Method: There were three datasets I used for this paper. The first
and the main dataset was the dataset that contained the data on government corruption, which came
from the Worldwide Governance Indicators excel file posted on World Bank. From this dataset, I
pulled out one important variable called Corruption, which is a measure of the government
performance. It ranges from 2.5 (bad government performance/corrupted) to 2.5(good government
performance/not corrupted). We need to be careful when interpreting this variable because even
though this is a corruption measure, higher positive value actually means the government is doing
better and less corrupted. The second dataset I used was Penn World Table version 9.0[3]. From
this dataset, I pulled out the variables: average hours worked (avh), human capital index, based on
years of schooling and returns to education

The Socratic problem refers to the difficulty of determining what information from historical
dialogues depicts the actual views of Socrates. Socrates was an actual historical figure, but there are
no works from Socrates himself. Therefore, we read of Socrates through his students and others
during his time. Plato, Aristophanes, and Xenophon are three main writers who studied the
character of Socrates. Since no writings from Socrates are saved, his views must be discerned from
the sometimes contradictory and secondary reports.
In the Apology by Plato, Socrates seems to be a very simple man. He professes his own
ignorance; he engages in conversation with someone claiming to be an expert, by asking simple
questions, Socrates gradually reveals that the speaker is in fact does not actually know anything
