California Vehicle Code Section 22500 ( F ) Essay
California Vehicle Code Section 22500 (f) Application in the City of Los Angeles The City of
Los Angeles is notorious for its space congestion: in most neighborhoods, simply finding an
open parking spot is considered a luxury. To make matters worse, California vehicle code section
22500 (f) exacerbates Los Angeles congestion as it precludes vehicles from extending over any
portion of a sidewalk or onto a street. This paper will draw attention to the fact that 22500
requires amendment, doing so would both reduce space congestion and ease vehicle accessibility.
In July 1990, Americans rejoiced over enhanced and extended civil rights legislation granted to
millions of Americans with disabilities. It was not long after the Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA) of 1990 was codified that public entities and public transportation underwent expansive
legislative restructuring in order to comply with the new standards. Via title ii of the ADA,
municipalities became responsible for ensuring that public transportation be inclusive to all
citizens including those with disabilities, providing the latter easy access parking spots and
wheelchair ramps. Then, in June 2002 in the United States Court of Appeals, Barden v.
Sacramento ruled that the ADA also applied to public sidewalks, requiring cities to make clear of
debris and leave open all public walkways, citing those who failed to comply. The Barden v.
Sacramento ruling enforced that anything from a trashcan to a vehicle blocking

Growing up in central Ohio there are several things that you will see on a regular basis. One of
these items in a buckeye, it is the symbol of the university here in town. Around the holidays we
make candies called buckeyes that are rolled balls of peanut butter dipped in chocolate. People
refer to individuals from Ohioas buckeyes as well. What is a buckeye and where does it come from?
The buckeye tree, which is also, known as AesculusGlabra is the state tree of Ohio. Sometimes
called a horse chestnut the buckeye tree is commonly found throughout the Midwest reaching from
Michigan all the way down to isolated areas of Texas and Oklahoma. The area is classified as the
temperate deciduous forest biome. A favorite of early Ohio settlers... Show more content on

The trees aren t going to be the tallest in the forest. They are usually 30 40 foot tall and 3 4 foot
tall. The trees reach maturity with in 60 80 years of age and most often living upwards of 100
years of age. Like I previously mention the buckeye tree blooms early in the spring. Flowers are
a white to yellow greenish color and form in small clusters. Each flower will produce 1 2 seeds
that will produce up to 5 nuts each inside the capsule. The capsule is a pale yellow color that is
spiny. The tree is one of the earliest to lose their leaves in the fall turning to a nice yellow and
red color before falling off. The buckeye tree has learned to adapt pretty well for survival. Its
short stature means that it usually has taller trees in the forest towering over it. While it can
grow in the shade it prefers to be in open clusters or along streambeds in moisture rich soil. It has
also shown great resistance to fungus and disease. There are only six known diseases that affect
the tree. One of the most common and most serious problems that the buckeye tree will experience
is leaf scorch. Most likely caused by drought conditions or pollution. The buckeye tree is polygamo
monoecious. The flower clusters at the base of the branch are fertile and can reproduce while the
flowers further up the branch are staminate. A few other interesting things that I learned when
doing the research on the buckeye tree

Propaganda In The Outskirts
Being compassionate to individuals of their larger enemies such as Germany can be debated in
Outskirts. The reason for this is scenes such as the one at 1:19:00 where a group of Russian
shoemakers attack the German prisoner of war does not show individual compassion. A possibility
for the demonstration of this behavior is to make sure the viewers of this filmsee how the people of
this film are not perfect, so they can better connect. It is very important for the realism aspect of
this type of filmmaking so that the viewers won t see the films write off the films as extremely
clear acts of propaganda from the government. While in a significantly more exaggerated fashion,
the same imperfections can be seen in The Outskirts. In the scene... Show more content on

In Outskirts the livelihood of the Russians is not all that great. There is a clear separation in the
high and mighty factory owners and the much poorer shoemakers. While this is potentially an
intentional point that Barnet is trying to make, it seems more like an honest representation of
what the real workers live like. The point that Barnet could be trying to make is the idea that the
factory owners, who are overall the bad people in this film, are supposed to be shunned for
trying to be better than the rest of the people. This inequality could be the idea Barnet is
representing by showing the class difference. If this is so it is seen similarly in The Outskirts
which has many scenes showing the significant difference between the lifestyle of the the higher
ups who made the decisions for the farmers, and the farmers in their village. There is a scene
when the farmers reach the final stage where the owner of all the oil fields mentions how his table
is worth more than the entire village, which is clearly an idea that wouldn t exist in soviet

Effects Of Monster In Night By Elie Wiesel
How do monsters affect people? Monsters can affect people in many different ways. Monsters
can come in many different shapes, sizes and thoughts. Some monsters can be other people, but
some can be the thought of something awful happening or losing faith. In the book Night by Elie
Wiesel, him and his family are being targeted by the Nazis because they are Jewish. They are
taken to concentration camps and split apart from each other. In the book Pure by Julianna
Baggott, Pressia seems to have little hope that she will survive through her 16th birthday and
escape OSR. Later in the book, Pressia gets captured by OSR, but during the capture she meets her
half brother Partridge and they make it out alive. Many modern atrocities and genocides can... Show

The German soldiers also known as Nazi, raided towns were the Jews were living and started
deporting them to concentration camps. They were crammed into cattle cars and separated
from family. Elie says, What s more, if I felt anger at that moment it was not directed at the Kapo
but at my father. Why couldn t he have avoided Idek s wrath? That was what life in
concentration camp had made of me... (54). Basically, Elie is mad at his father because he had
to fight with Idek, knowing how powerful he was. This proves the topic sentence because Elie s
father feared what would happen if he did not stand up for himself. Elie says, I woke from my
apathy only when two men approached my father. I threw myself on his body. He wa cold. I
slapped him. I rubbed his hands, crying: Father! Father! Wake up. They re going to throw you
outside... (99). Thus, Elie feared what would happen if he was left alone and his father was
dead. It supports what is stated in my topic sentence because the fear was being too weak to
carry on and being killed by the Nazi soldiers. Elie overcame the monsters because no matter how
hard life got in the concentration camp he never stopped fighting. Elie was very successful
because he made it out alive, even when he had foot problems, he never let anything hold him
back. In the book Night, there is fear of what might happen, but in the end no one gave up until
they were too sick to carry

Bangalore. r_sreejith@hotmail.com senthil.s@reva.edu.in Abstract Telemedicine focus on use of
information and communication technologies in the situation when health care center and the
patient are remotely located. That means that health care services are provided remotely over the
distance. There are several telemedicine services which include transmission of information about
patient s health through text, sound, images and other data forms for the diagnosis treatment,
prevention and follow up of the patient s health status. The role of telemedicine services contributes
a lot in health improvement and its application should be considered favorably valuable. However,
it is so much necessary to be aware that the utilization of different telemedicine solutions includes
processing of patient s data and transferover open network. Thus, this issue should be considered
from the perspective of data protection. Medical images which are stored in health information

The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment Essay
The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment The Tuskegee Syphilis experiment (The official name was
Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male) began in the 1930 s. It was an

the Syphilis study was to record the natural history of syphilis in Blacks (Tuskegee University,

The Mississippi Appendectomy Study The Mississippi Appendectomy study started taking place
in the 1920 s. The experiment consisted of excessive hysterectomies on many women mainly in
the Deep South. Poor Black women were the main focus of the experiments as well as disabled
women and women that the physicians thought were not worthy of reproducing. Young, less
experienced doctors were told to perform the sterilization process so that they had a chance to
practice the procedure (50). The experiment was unnecessary and served no true, ethical purpose.
The doctors believed it was in order to perform the hysterectomies because the women seemed unfit
to have children and to give the younger surgeons practice. In detail, while the women were having
an appendectomy (removal of the appendix), the doctors would perform the hysterectomies which
were unrelated to the problem with the patients appendix. Therefore, the hysterectomies were
uncalled for since the women had no knowledge of the additional procedure and didn t give
consent (University of Maryland, Mississippi Appendectomy , par. 1). These procedures resulted in
the women deprived of their right to reproduce and no significant benefits to science. The
Mississippi Appendectomy had no significant effect on medical history either since no major laws

report will look at the different registrations, codes of conduct and more. As both professions work
for the NHS, it will be interesting to see the difference between roles, responsibilities and how each
profession becomes fully trained.
A professional is a member of a disciplined group, who must stick to certain ethical standards.
They will be skilled and competent in their line of work; this will be there way of income rather
than a hobby or volunteering.

Ambulance Technicians, other Paramedics, Doctors and Nurses. They work on the frontline and
are called out to any emergencies, where they can work with the Fire Brigade and Police depending
on the emergency. Paramedics are usually first on the scene and give emergency treatment until
handed over to the relevant department. (Health Careers, 2017) A Mental Health Nurse also works
within the healthcare industry, however they are mostly based in a hospital setting or out within the
community. They can work in a psychiatric ward or visit patients at home. A Mental Health Nurse
can work alongside, Psychologists, Social workers and other therapists. Unlike a Paramedic, a

The small assignments we provide will be fun work for the fourth graders and we hope they

The Importance Of Honor Veterans
How Do We Honor Veterans? Who is this, who is not? It really doesn t matter cause the world

But, how do we really honor our veterans? We come together as a country and we say the pledge

not judging one or another. But, simply showing our thanks to the ones who let us sleep at night.

Narrative Essay About My Guinea Pig
Christmas break was finally over, so it was time to return to the stressful world known as school.
I wanted to check on my guinea pig, Sparky, when I first woke up at six o clock a.m. to see how
he was doing. However, once I had lifted the small pink den that he slept under, I had discovered
the ugly truth. The guinea pigthat I had adopted from PetSmart nearly two weeks ago lay there
unmoving, motionless. I had tried picking him up to put him in his small carrier, but he was very
stiff and heavy, so I decided to leave him until my parents had found out. He s really dead, isn t he?
I thoughtto myself. I could already feel the tears forming in my eyes, and my sight started
becoming very blurry. I slowly walked downstairs to tell my mom, and I could tell that she was
also sad about it. Though, it seemed as if both her and my dad had already thought something like
this might happen, even if they didn t say anything about it. It s not your fault, my mom told me. It
s the petstore s. They didn t tell us if he had any certain condition and they probably didn t have
him tested for any illnesses at all recently.
Once I had finished getting ready for school and got on the bus, I started telling anyone that I knew
well and felt comfortable talking to about the incident, though I feel like I should have asked them
how their Christmas break went and talked about the fun things both of us did instead. No matter
what I thought of, I could not force the

Advertising Influence Advertising
Magazines are a popular item in the United States. They can be found in stores, offices, houses
and more. They are very popular for advertising just like many more things. Television, news,
radio, billboards and online are just a few of the forms of media companies use to advertise their
products or services. The ads manipulate consumers in different ways which can be either positive
or negative. The companies use their ads to influence the consumer to either buy or use their service.
One of the ways advertisements influence consumers is through visualization. Colors play a big
role in drawing in consumers. According to Danciu the primary colors like red, yellow and blue
tend to emphasize simplicity as well as speed. The secondary colors are created by mixing two
primary colors together. These include green, orange and purple. The tertiary colors can be created
by mixing secondary and primary colors together. If they want manipulate the consumers, the
advertisers are mixing the images and colors together in such ways that can persuade and direct the
consumers to purchase the product by deceiving and misleading them. Colors have emotions linked
to them and what Danciu is saying is that companies can mix them to grab the consumer s attention
and persuade the consumer into purchasing their product. People often make judgements based on
color, whether it is race or colors of the rainbow so this concept of mixing colors to persuade a
consumer is not far fetched. According to

Personal Progression of Public Speaking Essay

Throughout high school, my grades were never above average and until about a couple of years

I began applying myself, the grades earned reflected that. This concept coincides to my public

The art speech was not necessarily my best moment when it came to audience analysis. I should
have followed through with making the speech less about the assignment and more about who I
was presenting it to. The dragon and persuasive speech probably would have been better had I
not had so much information, I really saw how it affected the way I looked as far as confidence
was concerned. Looking at my personal anecdote speech I think that was my shining moment. I
am not only saying that because of the grade I received, but because I owned the material and it
showed. As far as maintaining ethos, I would have to say that was during my informative
speech. I felt like I knew what I was talking about in the dragon speech more at the Q A than
during the speech, but during my energy drink presentation I really had the material down. During
the self evaluations I know that I properly analyze what I did wrong, though I am not sure I was
able to fix everything I set out to. Strategically speaking, I have a ways to go with choosing a topic,

Also, if the government wanted to raise more revenue through raising income taxes, and there
was a flat income tax system in place, they would have to raise the income taxes for everyone
across the board. Now, let s look back the example from earlier where person one made $50,000
and person two made $100,000. Remember, they both payed the same percentage of their
income in taxes, which was 10%: person one payed $5,000, person two payed $10,000. Some
people will say that this way of taxation is unfair because the $5,000 means more to person one
than the $10,000 means to person two. Regardless of whether the $5,000 means more to person
one than the $10,000 means to person two is true or not, they are being treated fairly because
they are both paying the same percentage of their income. The flat tax has good points like its
simplicity and ability to stimulate an economy, but it also has weaknesses like its inability to be
flexible after implementation and the possibility of putting even more of a tax burden on lower
income families. Let s move on to the third and final tax system to be covered which is no income

The About Insane Clown Posse
Since the early ninety s, a controversial Detroit rap group known as Insane Clown Posse have
boasted about torturous murder methods and brutal killings within their music. Within hours of the
release of their debut album The great malinko the Southern Baptist Convention criticized Disney
for signing the group after proclaiming ICP was the devil s music. Disney instantly dropped ICP
from the label and removed their album from stores. Soon after, homicide reports started to spread
with perpetrators proclaiming themselves as Juggalos (Insane Clown Possefans). The FBI listed
ICP as a dangerous gang, and, in many states, the group s live shows were cancelled. Despite their
music being banned in several countries and media outlets, this group continues to release music.

Etruscans Culture
It is said that Etruscans began c. 800 and declining 100 BCE ruling over Rome, a huge part of
western Italy; living in what is called Tuscany today. The origination of the Etruscans are unknown
to this day, archeologist has put the topic of origin aside for now. Speculations of their beginning
exist also. They took part in a large trading system; its distance was enormous; these people would
go the distance; making them exceptionally wealthy. Etruscan bronzes along with products from
mining and food cultivation were among the products of trade. The most reasonable excuse for
their decline is the cities evasion by Romewho then took most of the Etruscans culture as their own.

After presenting the evidence from both perspectives, I will then evaluate whether the legalisation
of gay marriage can be seen as a step towards considerable social change or if the evidence given
aligns more thoroughly with the arguments of cultural conflict. Unquestionably based upon the
acquired research, it can be seen that Marriage Equality is an inevitable social change to come in
the following years in Australian society.
(__)
Gay Marriage in the past few years has been a topic that has been highly debated and discussed. As
with any controversial issue, there are two sides to this argument. One side, the opposition, cites
religious view points and concerns about fornication and further raisse concerns that the rights of
marriage should be restricted to heterosexual couples (Debate.org). An increasing number on this
side of the argument have recently changed their opinions over the last few years as a result of
mounting pressure from LGBTI groups. People supporting marriage equality assert that marriage is
a civil right and therefore should not have restrictions based on sexual orientation. This side firmly
believes that love, not sexual orientation, is grounds enough for marriage (Debate.org). The
supporting side seems to be the populist view point, as evidenced from the recent changes of law in
some of the most prominent countries in the world, such as America.

The Work Life of Ben Hamper
For Ben Hamper it was inevitable that he would end up working in the General Motors factory
in Flint, Michigan. He was a third generation shop rat following in the footsteps of his family
and extended family. Working on the Rivet Line for General Motors was far from what Hamper
wanted to do with his life. Unfortunately for Hamper this was the only job where he was receiving
good pay and was able to drink throughout his day. Hamper faced many ups and downs being an
American autoworker; the working conditions, labor management relations and psychological
problems to name a few. It would eventually be the psychological issues that would lead Hamper

Alzheimer s Disorder In The Notebook Movie
The Notebook
The movie The Notebook is the story of Noah and Allie an elderly couple living the rest of their

perform activities of daily living, having difficulty communicating, mood and behavioral changes.

The city of Cusco, Peru covers around 150 square miles in total; to contrast, Lima, Peru is over
six times that size (Cartwright). Many people wonder how they could be alike at all, and without
the immense Peruvian pride throughout both cities, they would appear alien to each other. The
two most well known Peruvian cities are different in too many ways to count. Cusco used to be
the center of the Incan Empire and is known for its ancient ruins that are overflowing with history,
while Lima s parks and street art are beautiful examples of modern art and pull dozens of different
cultures together. Lima and Cusco differ in an infinite number of ways, but both cities stand out,

archeological aspects of how bodies are understood and analyzed in archeology for the bigger

debate about how people perceive archeology and seemed to be very negative and cynical. The
second reading tied more into the overall significance of the class as it highlights how people are
understood in the global and overall context. The first reading, which began by emphasizing that
cultural identifiers should be removed when analyzing humans, did not make sense to me. Our
personalities are shaped by who we are in society and how we have made a change. If the cultural
associations were removed from Alexander the Great, he would no longer be known as the great
divine ruler. Furthermore, the Holocausts was not just caused by a man who wanted power, rather a
man who did not like a specific culture caused it. I personally disagree with Osteoarchaeologists, as

history and past cultures. Archeology is the study of understanding humans, cultures and the past,

From the first powered flight at Kitty Hawk, safety was one of the primary concerns of the
public. Within 11 years, aircraft as a form passenger travel was expanding rapidly. As a result,
the skies quickly became crowded and accidents were occurring both in the air and on the
ground. Fearing that air transit would not reach its full economic potential, the Air Commerce
Act of 1926 (ACA) was enacted (Dilger, 2003). The ACA established uniform safety rules for
carriers, required pilot licensing, and standardized routes. As a result, deaths from aircraft
accidents reduced from one in every 1.4 million miles flown in 1927 to every 13 million miles

Essay On Italian Unification
The dynamics of the Italian unification movement:
Italian Unification (Italian: Risorgimento, or The Resurgence ) it is the political movement that
unified the states of the Italian peninsula into a single country. Italy was ruled by a number of
outside powers including Spain, France, and the Holy Roman Empire early on and later, Bourbon
and imperial France and the Hapsburgs.
Factors of the success of Italian unification:
1.Napoleon united Italy again after the fall of the Holy Roman Empire from (1796 1815) during
the period of French revolution and Napoleonic wars. Various Italian states consolidated for a
while, first as republics and afterward as satellite conditions of the French realm
2.Napoleon reforms in education, law and economy spread equality and liberty
3.the Italian middle class developed in numbers and was permitted to participate in government
After Napoleon s defeat in 1815 and the settlement of Vienna congress, the Italian states were
restored to their former rulers. Secret societies, for example, the Carbonari restricted this
improvement in the 1820s and 30s. The main avowedly republican and national group was Young
Italy, established by Giuseppe Mazzini in 1831. This society, which represented the Risorgimento,
would have liked to teach the Italian individuals to a feeling of their nationhood and to urge the
majority to ascend against the current regimes

How Does Eliza Haywood Use Disguise In Fantomina
Disguises In the 18th and 19th Century men and women wanted to search for their ideal partner
based on their desires while maintaining societal expectations placed on them. If a man or a
woman did not have certain traits they were considered unsuitable for marriage. In Eliza Haywood
s novel, Fantomina, and Oscar Wilde s play, The Importance of Being Earnest, the impact of these
unrealistic expectations are examined. In Fantomina the protagonist s character uses a variety of

Al Wahhab, A Great Man, An Honorable Reformer And A...
To his followers Abd al Wahhab was a great man, an outstanding reformer and a zealous preacher ,
proclaiming a message of al da wa ila l tawhid, (a belief in the unity of God alone), something
which, according to him, Muslims had neglected to their detriment. Like a troubling desert storm he
appeared in the Najd region of Arabia in the eighteenth century fulminating against the idolatrous
practices and customs of the contemporary Bedouin. The sheikh started preaching the revival of
Islam, states one writer, and ripped away the heresies and abuses which had grown up around
Islam and . . . preached the faith in its original simplicity . A small number of tribesmen accepted
him as Sheikh ul Islam and mujaddid, leader of Islam and renewer of the faith, and began a
movement which quickly spread across Arabia. Presenting Abd al Wahhab as the preacher of
reform , and referring to his great work , his powers of persuasion, personal magnetism and the
compelling rightness of his cause , his supporters declare with alacrity how he hurl[ed] his
doctrines into the teeth of the evildoers . As such Saudis today credit Abd al Wahhab as the one
who uprooted polytheistic views [and] eradicate[d] the heresies and accretions affecting Islam,

Are Foster Homes Harmful For Kids
Marcellia was born to a drug addicted mother who was unable to properly care for her and her
siblings. They were placed in foster care when she was 10 years old, and Marcellia remained in
the system until she aged out at 19. During those nine years, she was separated from her biological
brothers several times, neglected, and placed in homes with, as she states so simply, no love.
Marcellia s situation is not uncommon in the foster caresystems though. Foster homes neglect and
separate kids/teens. Many foster kids end up never see their family again. This issue is a highly
debated subject. Some argue that foster homes are fine just the way they are, while many debate
how foster homes are harmful for kids/teens in the system. Despite what some may say, foster
homes are harmful for kids because they don t prepare kids to deal with future real life obstacles

Not only are so many children are being neglected, but the kids aren t being prepared to help
children develop skills and knowledge that will help them get the education they need. Skeptics
may say that foster homes are fine as they are or that they ve changed , but truth is that foster
homes don t really care and haven t taken any action to help the kids/teens. After all, most
children are not being helped or supported mentally/emotionally, and most of the kids have been
known to struggle from PTSD. If we are able to speak up for these children/teens, or help foster
homes improve, we must provide different ideas for solutions and let our voices be heard. For
example, giving kids a permanent family and love is a way to heal the kids/teens. So for children
and teens like Marcellia everywhere, let them know that their voice matters. They can finally be

Robert Altman s Film Adaptation of Raymond Carver s Short Cuts
The characters in Robert Altman s film adaptation of the Raymond Carver anthology Short Cuts
think they re islands entire of themselves. They suspect their lives and their worlds of isolation,
alienation, separation, in multiple senses of the words. They fail to see, or perhaps purposely ignore,
connections between themselves and those around them, between their actions and the
ramifications of those actions. And while a typical director of a slice of life work might be content to
show all these people in their ignorance of connections, what makes Altman s final product so
marvelous is the way he toys with them, and the comments he makes about them.

But mostly it shows in the acting, in the narrative. The scene in which Gordon and Honey get
each other s sets of photographs back from the developer is one of the most noticeable examples
of this: the characters stories are thoroughly independent of each other, and they might never
have interacted if not for this scene. One of its main purposes is simply to let us know that all of
these people are existing in the same world, the same town, that in some way, in a city inhabited
by hundreds of thousands of people, the lives of these particular people do intersect. A similar
function is served by the scene in which Jerry comes to clean the Finnigans pool. Here we learn
that the Finnigans live next door to Tess and Zoe, whose pool Jerry will later clean (because of the
interaction in this scene), and both of whom are musicians who will eventually perform for perhaps
a quarter to a third of the cast. Altman s eight track dialogue technique is used effectively here to
reinforce the notion that the characters spatial proximity doesn t prevent them from leading isolated
lives.
Another scene which, in my mind, is even better for this purpose is the one in which we first see
the bakery. In this, three storylines converge: Stormy buys a cake for Betty, Ann places an order
for Casey s birthday cake, and Claire stops in on her way to a performance

Examples Of Scapegoating In The Crucible
Evil originates not in the absence of guilt; but in our effort to escape it. (Shannon L. Alder).
Naturally, people do not want to get in trouble. In some cases, people do terrible things to ensure
they do not get into trouble. One of the ways people try to escape trouble is through scapegoating.
A fantastic example of scapegoating can be soon through The Crucible. In Arthur Miller s The
Crucible, the theme of scapegoating is seen through the actions of the girls when they blame
Tituba, condemn John Proctor, and accuse Goody Proctor of being witches. For example, the
theme of scapegoating can be seen through Abigail Williams blaming Tituba. For instance, Abigail
starts to scream, I never called him! Tituba, Tituba... She made me do it! She made Betty do it!
(Miller, 41). Abigail is saying that Tituba was the one that made her call the devil. Blaming Tituba

Banksy Exit Through The Gift Shop Essay
Banksy once said, Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. Banksy, the
director of Exit Through the Gift Shop, a documentary that goes through the heart of street art
strongly emphasizes that art is not about money, but rather about expression and passion. He
supports his argument mainly through his strong visual and audio tactics.
Visuals are much stronger than any other sense. A reoccurring factor that influences the viewer s
thoughts towards the argument is where Banksy focuses the video. Anytime an artist is shown with
his artwork, the artwork is centered rather than the artist themselves. Banksy s purpose is to show
that the artist will change and they do not matter as much, but the art will be remembered. If you ...

Banksy carefully positions the audio music throughout the entirety of the film. For instance in the
beginning of the film, art was being showcased one after another. Banksy placed the art so that it
changed with the beat of the music in the background. By doing this, he cause the viewers to
wait and anticipate for the next art that was about to show itself. The tactic was effective because
it pulled the viewers in and caused them to glance at the art and think about its meaning and
purpose. The song that was used, Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Richard Hawley, is an upbeat
song that creates a passionate feeling about art. It was not random that this song was chosen,
Banksy chose this song because its title supports his argument that the artists are taking over the
street to show their personal artwork that takes dedication and courage. A final audio tactic that
was used was whenever there was a clip with a certain mood behind it; Banksy would choose a
soundtrack that complements the emotion that he wanted to create. During suspenseful times,
Banksy would play a track that forces the viewer to watch closely with their heart beating rapidly,
one time after another, BOOM...BOOM. The whole purpose of the specific music used was to
further support Banksy s thoughts on what the true purpose of art is. He would only choose songs
that showed expression as a priority over money. However, whenever Thierry showcased his art,

hazard and takes a critical look at life in Dublin, Ireland in the early 20th century. Furthermore,
the themes that underlie Eveline were not only relevant for the time the story was wrote in, but
are just as relevant today. The major theme explored in Eveline is the idea of order and hazard. In
society, the idea of order has a lot more positive connotation than hazard. People often quote
popular sayings such as life is not always greener on the other side of the pastor to indicate this
belief. Contrary, the idea of taking... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A second group of readers however see Joyce s reaction to Eveline as uncompassionate. These
readers do not blame Eveline for not choosing to take a chance, but rather see Eveline as a
sympathetic character. These people look at the decision that Eveline is faced with as very
fortuitous, and therefore hold the belief that Eveline cannot be blamed for her decision not to leave
Dublin. Other critics of Joyce have seen his fierce criticism of Eveline as chauvinistic. This
argument is based on the idea that Joyce, a male author, does not have the right to criticize a
female character, in this case Eveline. Furthermore, there is evidence outside of his criticism of
Eveline that some would say furthers the case of Joyce s chauvinism. For example Joyce was
once quoted as saying, Men are governed by lines of intellect women: by curves of emotion
(Think Exist). Many quotes said by Joyce such as this one could be viewed as chauvinistic.
Whether or not Joyce s criticism of Eveline is chauvinistic is up for debate, but one could
definitely make the case that it is. Another major theme of Eveline is Joyce s criticism of life in
Dublin in the early 20th century. One criticism Joyce has of the people of Dublin was covered
above ,which, is he believed that they settled for routine over taking opportunities to make a better
life for themselves. Joyce is perhaps critical of this trend to not settle for the norm

Nike Brand Analysis
Brand Analysis Assignment Nike 1. What is the positioning strategy of the brand ВЎV that is, how
is it different from other brands in the market? How is it communicated through promotional
materials? Nike is a brand that usually signs top athletes of every sport from across the world to
lucrative deals so that the athletes can wear and represent Nike to its fullest. Nike, unlike its
competitors, wants to be seen more as a symbol of strength, dedication, hard work, sweat,
perseverance and the desire to succeed. Superb athletes and role models have extreme power over
teenagers and often influence them into purchasing products not otherwise thought of. Nike has

Action. Nike is a symbol reflecting hard work and the desire to succeed which is accomplished by
taking action. Nike uses powerful images of men and women in its ads, usually in a sporting
situation, to show where determination can take someone. This ad demonstrates the actions these
athletes take to prepare for the great task ahead. В„XAnother print ad shows one of the NBAВЎВ¦s
most talented basketball players, Kobe Bryant. Just days after Kobe BryantВЎВ¦s Nike contract
was signed the media revealed his involvement in a sexual assault case. Any involvement certainly
didnВЎВ¦t reflect NikeВЎВ¦s mission or image therefore Nike decided to lay low on KobeВЎВ¦s
contract. Now after the case has been settled Nike has begun its ad campaigns with Kobe as its
spokesperson. However, his ad has a twist. It is KobeВЎВ¦s profile against a dark background and
on the left side it mentions several tasks with accomplishments. Although the ad doesnВЎВ¦t
mention KobeВЎВ¦s involvement in the case directly it mentions several events of his life. The
ad is about Kobe overcoming the adversity and working hard to get through it, eventually leading
to the fact that he will still be on top because of his hard work and determination to get past it.
Again, Nike is communicating hard work and perseverance. В„XLastly is a print ad of NikeВЎВ¦s
most recent campaign. Nike has officially moved towards the mini trend celebrating the full figure

Ice Age Cycles
Due to recent increases in the Earths average temperature Climate Change has become a highly
discussed topic in society. This has caused individuals to solely focus on the increasing
temperatures of today and completely neglect temperatures that the planet has experienced in the
past. When looking at paleoclimate data one can clearly see the fluxuations in the ice age cycles
(periods of cooling and warming). Ice age cycles are amplified by positive feedback systems that
make the earthcooler or warmer depending upon the physical process that is being altered. In his
response Bruce Parker, a physical oceanographer, discussed the impact that these positive feedback
loops have on Earths overall temperature and how scientists have yet to figure out what causes the
amplifying mechanisms to switch from warming to cooling.... Show more content on

In my opinion, in order to understand the increasing temperatures that the globe is experiencing
today, Earths past climates must be studied. The study of Earths past climates is called
paleoclimatology and it has led to the understanding that for the past 2.4 million years Earth has
been undergoing times of extreme cooling and warming. However, what the data has yet to
explain what causes the planet to switch from cooling cycles to warming cycles. As a scientist I
agree with Dr. Parker when he says that more individuals need to look at this question. I feel this
way because if scientists are able to explain the sudden change from heating to cooling they may
be able to manipulate variables that are present in today s society, potentially slowing down or
reversing global warming. This concept would drastically alter the way the world looks at climate
change by enabling humans to actively change geological processes they otherwise would be
unable to

Horatio s Disappearance Of Ghosts
Regarding the ghost s regular appearance at 1 am, I have two hunches:
First, the ghost may be appearing at that time to make clear that his presence is real and not a
figment of the imagination. In Act I, he appears when Horatio s shift begins. This might be so
Horatio can see him first hand, seeing that Horatio is the only watchman Hamlet will actually
believe.
Second, the ghost may be appearing at such hour because ghosts are not allowed to be out in
daylight. Based on myths of the Elizabethan time, ghosts were only allowed to leave their abyss
after the witching hour (midnight) в”Ђ this gives quite an eerie effect.
As for the ghost s disappearance, he vanishes when the rooster crows. The rooster is like a clock
that anticipates sunrise and

Randy Love At Your Service By Shay Carter
Randy Love... at your Service by Shay Carter is a fictional book ideal for days when you need
something relaxing to read. This light reading is, in my opinion, a male version of Bridget Jones.
Randy Love, the main character of this book, in his early twenties, began the process of
independence. Moving from his parents house and searching for a job are required to accomplish
that goal. His egocentricity and ignorance make that process a bit difficult, but also make the story
interesting. On the other hand, with the help of his charm, he succeeds in taking advantage of

Internet Predators Essay
Internet Predators
In recent years, the Internet has become the number one choice for doing research. A person can
find information on just about anything. There are websites devoted to cooking recipes, musicians,
schools, and pornography. Many schools will even allow students to apply for admission over the
Internet. Schools such as California State University, Northridge give students an option to register
for classes through the school website, making it quick and easy to get classes. The Internet is truly
the information superhighway.
Not everyone who accesses the Internet uses it for research. Many people, especially young people

Yet, the reality is that a woman may be talking to someone who is on parole for sexual abuse. There
is absolutely no way to know whether or not someone is lying about their identity. I personally
have always chatted on the Internet with skepticism. There are precautions one can take to
prevent getting in trouble on the Internet. Some general rules one should follow include not
giving out one s phone number, not giving out a picture of one s self, and not meeting anyone in
person that one met on the Internet. Giving out a person s picture is one of the most common
errors on the Internet. It never seizes to amaze me that the first question out of someone s mouth
when they send me an instant message is if I have a picture. Although I do, I say no, unless it is
someone that I positively know. Upon receiving someone else s picture, I often wonder if that is
what the person really looks like. The world is full of dishonesty; it does not surprise me that
some people use another person s picture. People have been known to pretend to be someone
they are not while chatting. I admit that I have pretended to be someone else when I was really
bored. I have pretended to be older than I am, I have pretended to be someone of the opposite sex,
and I have pretended to be a very aggressive, outgoing person. I happen to be a person who is too
passive most of the time.
People who pretend to be someone else are what make the Internet so dangerous.

Greek Poleis Research Paper
Poleis across Greece went through a political evolution known as anacyclosis. City states such as
Argos, Athens, Corinth, Crete, Delphi, Marathon, Olympia, Salamis, and Sparta, are examples of
this political evolution. Across Greece, a compare and contrast of monarchy, aristocracy, tyranny,
oligarchy, and democracy rules of government will be neatly assembled to illustrate how each
structure of government transitions across the theory of anacyclosis within Greece. Similar to frogs
around a pound along the Black and Mediterranean Sea, Greek poleis evolved to become some of
the most famous forms of governments in our history. Jump in and let s go, we re about to learn
something new and intriguing.

The Field Of Educational Psychology
Snowman, Jack (1997) defined educational psychology as a branch of psychology concerned with
the scientific study of human learning. The study of learning processes, from both cognitive and
behavioral perspectives, allows researchers to understand individual differences in intelligence,
cognitive development, affect, motivation, self regulation, and self concept, as well as their role in
learning. The field of educational psychologyrelies heavily on quantitative methods, including
testing and measurement, to enhance educational activities related to instructional design,
classroom management, and assessment, which serve to facilitate learning processes in various
educational settings across the lifespan.
In the period before 1890 many scientists contributed to the field by examining and classifying the
method of education such as Juan Vives (1492 1540) his contribution in supporting the education of
women, recommended the study of nature and advocated induction method of study. Johann
Heinrich Pestalozzi (1782 1853) the foundation father of the kindergarten movement. Austin
Sheldon (1823 1897) the leader of founding public schools and normal schools. Francis Parker
(1837 1902) the father of progressive education which influenced by Pestalozzi and Forebel. John
Fredrick Herbart (1776 1841) Father of Educational Psychology and scientific pedagogy, he set the
principles of Education, facilitated better learning and ensure children s development, set the

CHAPTER 2 LITERATURE REVIEW A number of studies and researches showing the
improvement in LEACH protocol of Wireless Sensor Networks. 2.1 Literature Review Heinzelman
et al. (2000) [1] Based on their findings that the conventional protocols of direct transmission,
minimum transmission energy, multihop routing, and static clustering may not be optimal for
sensor networks, proposed LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy), a clustering based
protocol that utilizes randomized rotation of local cluster base stations(cluster heads) to evenly
distribute the energy load among the sensors in the network. LEACH uses localized coordination to

Energy LEACH protocol improves the choice method of cluster head and multihop LEACH
protocol improves communication mode from single hop to multi hop between cluster head and
sink. Chen et al. (2007) [5]proposed a novel clustering associating algorithm, known as Energy
Residue Aware (ERA)clustering algorithm, to prolong the lifetime of a sensor network by
balancing the energy consumption of the entire network.ERA enables each sensor to associate its
cluster head to find a path with maximum energy residue sum instead of a path with the minimum
energy consumption as many energy efficient routing protocols have been proposed in sensor
networks for different scenarios and various applications in literature. One of the efficient way is to
group sensors in the neighbouring into clusters and send aggregate data by a designated cluster
head. However, such design discipline still can not balance the energy consumption of the entire
network. As such, in worst cases, some nodes may be soon exhausted. Consequently, it is difficult
to provide effective operation and seamless coverage in such a network. Cheng et al.(2008) [6]
proposed an energy efficient, weighted clustering algorithm which improves the cluster formation
process of LEACH by taking residual energy mutual position, workload balance and MAC
functioning into consideration.WSN is extremely energy limited, the traditional network routing
protocols are not suitable to it. Energy conservation becomes a crucial

Merrill Garbus Water Fountain Meaning
The drums and rhythms are the only musical ingredients that can compete with Merrill Garbus
voice and lyrics in the song Water Fountain. Too often, dance music approves the vacant
reverberation of let s party or drunken I don t care promiscuity that gives the serious listener second
thoughts about sitting down and taking note of anything remotely connected to that genre of music.
That is not the case here.
The song is high speed vocalization that scats like machine gun fire. Even when the lyrics become
repetitive, the fiercely driven delivery blazes with passion. There is no sense of the robotic
aestheticism that so many dance tunes seem to carry. Garbus brings her lyrics like a wounded poet,
yet leaves them riding the extreme rhythm of multiple instruments. Her melodies are as assertive as
any song sung from the heart and it doesn t take long to forget you are listening to a dance tune.
Her lyrical voice, however, has to be strong to be felt over the beat. A mosaic of swift deep bass,
hollow tom toms, and quick ringing bells, quickly get your feet tapping in an unconscious need to
dance. The stacked rhythm grows with synthesized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

pulls the ear toward the powerful expressions again and again, which, considering the profoundly
polyrhythmic beat, is no easy chore. The rhythmic churning stirs up emotions of a daily life in a
repressed world when the singer bravely tells us, Nothing feels like dying like the drying of my
skin and lawn. Why do we just sit here while they watch us wither till we re gone? I can t seem to
feel it. I can t seem to feel it. Garbus lyrics feel like there is an emotional foot on her neck. While
asserting her stance against water shortages, she gives us the feel of a good love gone

Exercise interventions:
An exercise intervention could be used especially because people who are depressed feel a sense of
worthlessness (as in the definition of depression, DSM V ) . A pilot study by Nadine McGale et al
(2011) investigated the effectiveness of a team based sport with an individual exercise and a control
condition of young men. This study included a 10 week randomized control trial and an 8 week
post intervention follow up. A group of 104 sedentary males (exercise once or less per week) aged
between 18 and 40 years were randomly assigned to the three groups namely the team based sport,

Easter Island History
Easter Island is one of the world s most famous archaeological sites. But it is least visited. It is
also very isolated. It is located south of the equator and around 2200 miles off the Chile coast. The
island has three extinct volcanoes. But the island itself is just a massive volcano rising from the
Pacific Oceanfloor. The oldest known name for Easter Island is Te Pito o Te Henua, which means
the center of the world. Tahitian sailors gave the island the name Rapa Nui in the 1860 s due to the
fact that it looked like another island in Polynesiacalled Rapa Iti. Easter Island got its name Easter
Island from the Dutch sea captain, Jacob Roggeveen.
Easter Island is primarily known for its huge stone statues, or Moai statues. They were in use as
early as 500 AD, carved between 1000 AD and 1650, and were still standing when Captain Jacob
Roggeveen visited the island in 1722. A few of the moai once had crowns or hats made of red
volcano stone. The purpose of it is still unknown, but archaeologist believed that they were linked
or sacred to a particular clan. The moai statues itself symbolized authority and power, both
religiously and politically. But how they were moved is still a big mystery til this day.

years, the population started to grow larger and larger, way too large for the island to support them

Rick Deckard In Blade Runner
The final scene moved me more than anything else due to three elements. Firstly, seeing Rick
Deckard genuinely, utterly helpless, perhaps even pathetically desperate for his life, is an
interesting contrast to most other protagonist characterizations. Usually the hero is always in
control, and even if they re temporarily bested, they take control by having a secret plan or
agenda. They certainly never show genuine fear or desperation. Yet here we have Deckard
slipping from the building, helpless to stop his fate. His desperation was a well executed parallel
to the desperation of the villain, Roy Batty. Though Batty seemed to be in control because he held
Deckard s life in his hands, he was just as helpless in the face of his inevitable demise and he knew
it. Blade Runnerdoes an excellent job reminding the audiencethat none can escape death human or

Just as he couldn t save himself, neither can we. Batty, Deckard s enemy, chose to show him

tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Yet, despite our enmity, Jesus reached down and
pulled us up to safety in his Spirit, if we were willing to take hold of his hand. After Batty
succumbs to his fate, Deckard ponders, I don t know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last
moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life anybody s life...my life. I
admire this quote because it fills me with love for people and makes me want to help them truly
live. I am filled with a desire that both my friends and my enemies will have life, and have it

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bio Composite
Through research about composite and bio composite, there are many advantage and disadvantages
in aircraft construction. Definition for composite, a material that are made from two or more
constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties when combined,
produce a material with characteristic different from the individual components. The individual
components remain separate and distinct within the finished structure. In aircraft, the first
composite aircraft was in 1916, era of World War 1, when British launched a Bristol Scout from
Felixstowe. Between the World War, American experiments with airship composites led to the
construction of two aircraft carriers, while the British Short Mayo seaplane composite demonstrated
successful transatlantic mail delivery. During the Second World War, some composites saw
operational use including the Mistel, the larger unmanned component of a composite aircraft
configuration developed in Germany at the end of World War 2. Experiments continued into the jet
age, with large aircraft carrying fully capable parasite fighters or reconnaissance drones.

  • 2. California Vehicle Code Section 22500 ( F ) Essay California Vehicle Code Section 22500 (f) Application in the City of Los Angeles The City of Los Angeles is notorious for its space congestion: in most neighborhoods, simply finding an open parking spot is considered a luxury. To make matters worse, California vehicle code section 22500 (f) exacerbates Los Angeles congestion as it precludes vehicles from extending over any portion of a sidewalk or onto a street. This paper will draw attention to the fact that 22500 requires amendment, doing so would both reduce space congestion and ease vehicle accessibility. In July 1990, Americans rejoiced over enhanced and extended civil rights legislation granted to millions of Americans with disabilities. It was not long after the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 was codified that public entities and public transportation underwent expansive legislative restructuring in order to comply with the new standards. Via title ii of the ADA, municipalities became responsible for ensuring that public transportation be inclusive to all citizens including those with disabilities, providing the latter easy access parking spots and wheelchair ramps. Then, in June 2002 in the United States Court of Appeals, Barden v. Sacramento ruled that the ADA also applied to public sidewalks, requiring cities to make clear of debris and leave open all public walkways, citing those who failed to comply. The Barden v. Sacramento ruling enforced that anything from a trashcan to a vehicle blocking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of these items in a buckeye, it is the symbol of the university here in town. Around the holidays we make candies called buckeyes that are rolled balls of peanut butter dipped in chocolate. People refer to individuals from Ohioas buckeyes as well. What is a buckeye and where does it come from? The buckeye tree, which is also, known as AesculusGlabra is the state tree of Ohio. Sometimes called a horse chestnut the buckeye tree is commonly found throughout the Midwest reaching from Michigan all the way down to isolated areas of Texas and Oklahoma. The area is classified as the temperate deciduous forest biome. A favorite of early Ohio settlers... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The trees aren t going to be the tallest in the forest. They are usually 30 40 foot tall and 3 4 foot tall. The trees reach maturity with in 60 80 years of age and most often living upwards of 100 years of age. Like I previously mention the buckeye tree blooms early in the spring. Flowers are a white to yellow greenish color and form in small clusters. Each flower will produce 1 2 seeds that will produce up to 5 nuts each inside the capsule. The capsule is a pale yellow color that is spiny. The tree is one of the earliest to lose their leaves in the fall turning to a nice yellow and red color before falling off. The buckeye tree has learned to adapt pretty well for survival. Its short stature means that it usually has taller trees in the forest towering over it. While it can grow in the shade it prefers to be in open clusters or along streambeds in moisture rich soil. It has also shown great resistance to fungus and disease. There are only six known diseases that affect the tree. One of the most common and most serious problems that the buckeye tree will experience is leaf scorch. Most likely caused by drought conditions or pollution. The buckeye tree is polygamo monoecious. The flower clusters at the base of the branch are fertile and can reproduce while the flowers further up the branch are staminate. A few other interesting things that I learned when doing the research on the buckeye tree ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Propaganda In The Outskirts Being compassionate to individuals of their larger enemies such as Germany can be debated in Outskirts. The reason for this is scenes such as the one at 1:19:00 where a group of Russian shoemakers attack the German prisoner of war does not show individual compassion. A possibility for the demonstration of this behavior is to make sure the viewers of this filmsee how the people of this film are not perfect, so they can better connect. It is very important for the realism aspect of this type of filmmaking so that the viewers won t see the films write off the films as extremely clear acts of propaganda from the government. While in a significantly more exaggerated fashion, the same imperfections can be seen in The Outskirts. In the scene... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Outskirts the livelihood of the Russians is not all that great. There is a clear separation in the high and mighty factory owners and the much poorer shoemakers. While this is potentially an intentional point that Barnet is trying to make, it seems more like an honest representation of what the real workers live like. The point that Barnet could be trying to make is the idea that the factory owners, who are overall the bad people in this film, are supposed to be shunned for trying to be better than the rest of the people. This inequality could be the idea Barnet is representing by showing the class difference. If this is so it is seen similarly in The Outskirts which has many scenes showing the significant difference between the lifestyle of the the higher ups who made the decisions for the farmers, and the farmers in their village. There is a scene when the farmers reach the final stage where the owner of all the oil fields mentions how his table is worth more than the entire village, which is clearly an idea that wouldn t exist in soviet ... • 6. Effects Of Monster In Night By Elie Wiesel How do monsters affect people? Monsters can affect people in many different ways. Monsters can come in many different shapes, sizes and thoughts. Some monsters can be other people, but some can be the thought of something awful happening or losing faith. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, him and his family are being targeted by the Nazis because they are Jewish. They are taken to concentration camps and split apart from each other. In the book Pure by Julianna Baggott, Pressia seems to have little hope that she will survive through her 16th birthday and escape OSR. Later in the book, Pressia gets captured by OSR, but during the capture she meets her half brother Partridge and they make it out alive. Many modern atrocities and genocides can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The German soldiers also known as Nazi, raided towns were the Jews were living and started deporting them to concentration camps. They were crammed into cattle cars and separated from family. Elie says, What s more, if I felt anger at that moment it was not directed at the Kapo but at my father. Why couldn t he have avoided Idek s wrath? That was what life in concentration camp had made of me... (54). Basically, Elie is mad at his father because he had to fight with Idek, knowing how powerful he was. This proves the topic sentence because Elie s father feared what would happen if he did not stand up for himself. Elie says, I woke from my apathy only when two men approached my father. I threw myself on his body. He wa cold. I slapped him. I rubbed his hands, crying: Father! Father! Wake up. They re going to throw you outside... (99). Thus, Elie feared what would happen if he was left alone and his father was dead. It supports what is stated in my topic sentence because the fear was being too weak to carry on and being killed by the Nazi soldiers. Elie overcame the monsters because no matter how hard life got in the concentration camp he never stopped fighting. Elie was very successful because he made it out alive, even when he had foot problems, he never let anything hold him back. In the book Night, there is fear of what might happen, but in the end no one gave up until they were too sick to carry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was unethical because the subjects were unaware of the consequences and denied the treatment for their disease. The Mississippi Appendectomy Study The Mississippi Appendectomy study started taking place in the 1920 s. The experiment consisted of excessive hysterectomies on many women mainly in the Deep South. Poor Black women were the main focus of the experiments as well as disabled women and women that the physicians thought were not worthy of reproducing. Young, less experienced doctors were told to perform the sterilization process so that they had a chance to practice the procedure (50). The experiment was unnecessary and served no true, ethical purpose. The doctors believed it was in order to perform the hysterectomies because the women seemed unfit to have children and to give the younger surgeons practice. In detail, while the women were having an appendectomy (removal of the appendix), the doctors would perform the hysterectomies which were unrelated to the problem with the patients appendix. Therefore, the hysterectomies were uncalled for since the women had no knowledge of the additional procedure and didn t give consent (University of Maryland, Mississippi Appendectomy , par. 1). These procedures resulted in the women deprived of their right to reproduce and no significant benefits to science. I wanted to check on my guinea pig, Sparky, when I first woke up at six o clock a.m. to see how he was doing. However, once I had lifted the small pink den that he slept under, I had discovered the ugly truth. The guinea pigthat I had adopted from PetSmart nearly two weeks ago lay there unmoving, motionless. I had tried picking him up to put him in his small carrier, but he was very stiff and heavy, so I decided to leave him until my parents had found out. He s really dead, isn t he? I thoughtto myself. I could already feel the tears forming in my eyes, and my sight started becoming very blurry. I slowly walked downstairs to tell my mom, and I could tell that she was also sad about it. One of the ways advertisements influence consumers is through visualization. Colors play a big role in drawing in consumers. According to Danciu the primary colors like red, yellow and blue tend to emphasize simplicity as well as speed. The secondary colors are created by mixing two primary colors together. These include green, orange and purple. The tertiary colors can be created by mixing secondary and primary colors together. Also, if the government wanted to raise more revenue through raising income taxes, and there was a flat income tax system in place, they would have to raise the income taxes for everyone across the board. Now, let s look back the example from earlier where person one made $50,000 and person two made $100,000. Remember, they both payed the same percentage of their income in taxes, which was 10%: person one payed $5,000, person two payed $10,000. Some people will say that this way of taxation is unfair because the $5,000 means more to person one than the $10,000 means to person two. Regardless of whether the $5,000 means more to person one than the $10,000 means to person two is true or not, they are being treated fairly because they are both paying the same percentage of their income. The flat tax has good points like its simplicity and ability to stimulate an economy, but it also has weaknesses like its inability to be flexible after implementation and the possibility of putting even more of a tax burden on lower income families. Despite what some may say, foster homes are harmful for kids because they don t prepare kids to deal with future real life obstacles and foster homes don t support kids... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only are so many children are being neglected, but the kids aren t being prepared to help children develop skills and knowledge that will help them get the education they need. Skeptics may say that foster homes are fine as they are or that they ve changed , but truth is that foster homes don t really care and haven t taken any action to help the kids/teens. After all, most children are not being helped or supported mentally/emotionally, and most of the kids have been known to struggle from PTSD. If we are able to speak up for these children/teens, or help foster homes improve, we must provide different ideas for solutions and let our voices be heard. For example, giving kids a permanent family and love is a way to heal the kids/teens. So for children and teens like Marcellia everywhere, let them know that their voice matters. They can finally be heard. Give children living in foster homes chance by helping them; listening to them, the words and pain they keep inside. And maybe, just maybe, it can help them ... • 38. Robert Altman s Film Adaptation of Raymond Carver s Short... Robert Altman s Film Adaptation of Raymond Carver s Short Cuts The characters in Robert Altman s film adaptation of the Raymond Carver anthology Short Cuts think they re islands entire of themselves. They suspect their lives and their worlds of isolation, alienation, separation, in multiple senses of the words. They fail to see, or perhaps purposely ignore, connections between themselves and those around them, between their actions and the ramifications of those actions. And while a typical director of a slice of life work might be content to show all these people in their ignorance of connections, what makes Altman s final product so marvelous is the way he toys with them, and the comments he makes about them. The obvious route ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But mostly it shows in the acting, in the narrative. The scene in which Gordon and Honey get each other s sets of photographs back from the developer is one of the most noticeable examples of this: the characters stories are thoroughly independent of each other, and they might never have interacted if not for this scene. One of its main purposes is simply to let us know that all of these people are existing in the same world, the same town, that in some way, in a city inhabited by hundreds of thousands of people, the lives of these particular people do intersect. A similar function is served by the scene in which Jerry comes to clean the Finnigans pool. Here we learn that the Finnigans live next door to Tess and Zoe, whose pool Jerry will later clean (because of the interaction in this scene), and both of whom are musicians who will eventually perform for perhaps a quarter to a third of the cast. Altman s eight track dialogue technique is used effectively here to reinforce the notion that the characters spatial proximity doesn t prevent them from leading isolated lives. Another scene which, in my mind, is even better for this purpose is the one in which we first see the bakery. In this, three storylines converge: Stormy buys a cake for Betty, Ann places an order for Casey s birthday cake, and Claire stops in on her way to a performance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Examples Of Scapegoating In The Crucible Evil originates not in the absence of guilt; but in our effort to escape it. (Shannon L. Alder). Naturally, people do not want to get in trouble. In some cases, people do terrible things to ensure they do not get into trouble. One of the ways people try to escape trouble is through scapegoating. A fantastic example of scapegoating can be soon through The Crucible. In Arthur Miller s The Crucible, the theme of scapegoating is seen through the actions of the girls when they blame Tituba, condemn John Proctor, and accuse Goody Proctor of being witches. For example, the theme of scapegoating can be seen through Abigail Williams blaming Tituba. For instance, Abigail starts to scream, I never called him! Tituba, Tituba... She made me do it! Banksy, the director of Exit Through the Gift Shop, a documentary that goes through the heart of street art strongly emphasizes that art is not about money, but rather about expression and passion. He supports his argument mainly through his strong visual and audio tactics. Visuals are much stronger than any other sense. A reoccurring factor that influences the viewer s thoughts towards the argument is where Banksy focuses the video. Banksy placed the art so that it changed with the beat of the music in the background. By doing this, he cause the viewers to wait and anticipate for the next art that was about to show itself. The tactic was effective because it pulled the viewers in and caused them to glance at the art and think about its meaning and purpose. The song that was used, Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Richard Hawley, is an upbeat song that creates a passionate feeling about art. It was not random that this song was chosen, Banksy chose this song because its title supports his argument that the artists are taking over the street to show their personal artwork that takes dedication and courage. A final audio tactic that was used was whenever there was a clip with a certain mood behind it; Banksy would choose a soundtrack that complements the emotion that he wanted to create. During suspenseful times, Banksy would play a track that forces the viewer to watch closely with their heart beating rapidly, one time after another, BOOM...BOOM. • 43. Essay on The Modern Relevance of Themes in James Joyce s... James Joyce is widely considered to be one of the best authors of the 20th century. One of James Joyce s most celebrated short stories is Eveline. This short story explores the theme of order and hazard and takes a critical look at life in Dublin, Ireland in the early 20th century. Furthermore, the themes that underlie Eveline were not only relevant for the time the story was wrote in, but are just as relevant today. The major theme explored in Eveline is the idea of order and hazard. In society, the idea of order has a lot more positive connotation than hazard. People often quote popular sayings such as life is not always greener on the other side of the pastor to indicate this belief. Contrary, the idea of taking... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A second group of readers however see Joyce s reaction to Eveline as uncompassionate. These readers do not blame Eveline for not choosing to take a chance, but rather see Eveline as a sympathetic character. These people look at the decision that Eveline is faced with as very fortuitous, and therefore hold the belief that Eveline cannot be blamed for her decision not to leave Dublin. Other critics of Joyce have seen his fierce criticism of Eveline as chauvinistic. This argument is based on the idea that Joyce, a male author, does not have the right to criticize a female character, in this case Eveline. Furthermore, there is evidence outside of his criticism of Eveline that some would say furthers the case of Joyce s chauvinism. For example Joyce was once quoted as saying, Men are governed by lines of intellect women: by curves of emotion (Think Exist). Many quotes said by Joyce such as this one could be viewed as chauvinistic. Whether or not Joyce s criticism of Eveline is chauvinistic is up for debate, but one could definitely make the case that it is. Another major theme of Eveline is Joyce s criticism of life in Dublin in the early 20th century. One criticism Joyce has of the people of Dublin was covered above ,which, is he believed that they settled for routine over taking opportunities to make a better life for themselves. This has caused individuals to solely focus on the increasing temperatures of today and completely neglect temperatures that the planet has experienced in the past. When looking at paleoclimate data one can clearly see the fluxuations in the ice age cycles (periods of cooling and warming). Ice age cycles are amplified by positive feedback systems that make the earthcooler or warmer depending upon the physical process that is being altered. (2007) [5]proposed a novel clustering associating algorithm, known as Energy Residue Aware (ERA)clustering algorithm, to prolong the lifetime of a sensor network by balancing the energy consumption of the entire network.ERA enables each sensor to associate its cluster head to find a path with maximum energy residue sum instead of a path with the minimum energy consumption as many energy efficient routing protocols have been proposed in sensor networks for different scenarios and various applications in literature. One of the efficient way is to group sensors in the neighbouring into clusters and send aggregate data by a designated cluster head. However, such design discipline still can not balance the energy consumption of the entire network. As such, in worst cases, some nodes may be soon exhausted. Consequently, it is difficult to provide effective operation and seamless coverage in such a network. Firstly, seeing Rick Deckard genuinely, utterly helpless, perhaps even pathetically desperate for his life, is an interesting contrast to most other protagonist characterizations. Usually the hero is always in control, and even if they re temporarily bested, they take control by having a secret plan or agenda. They certainly never show genuine fear or desperation. Yet here we have Deckard slipping from the building, helpless to stop his fate. His desperation was a well executed parallel to the desperation of the villain, Roy Batty. Though Batty seemed to be in control because he held Deckard s life in his hands, he was just as helpless in the face of his inevitable demise and he knew it. Blade Runnerdoes an excellent job reminding the audiencethat none can escape death human or replicant. These men grapple with their fates, but their efforts are futile. This is a... Likewise, in our natural state, we have made ourselves enemies of God. Philippians 3:18: For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Yet, despite our enmity, Jesus reached down and pulled us up to safety in his Spirit, if we were willing to take hold of his hand. After Batty succumbs to his fate, Deckard ponders, I don t know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life anybody s life...my life. I admire this quote because it fills me with love for people and makes me want to help them truly live. I am filled with a desire that both my friends and my enemies will have life, and have it abundantly that they will overflow with the ecstasies of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 59. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bio Composite Through research about composite and bio composite, there are many advantage and disadvantages in aircraft construction. Definition for composite, a material that are made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or chemical properties when combined, produce a material with characteristic different from the individual components. The individual components remain separate and distinct within the finished structure. In aircraft, the first composite aircraft was in 1916, era of World War 1, when British launched a Bristol Scout from Felixstowe. Between the World War, American experiments with airship composites led to the construction of two aircraft carriers, while the British Short Mayo seaplane composite demonstrated successful transatlantic mail delivery. During the Second World War, some composites saw operational use including the Mistel, the larger unmanned component of a composite aircraft configuration developed in Germany at the end of World War 2. Experiments continued into the jet age, with large aircraft carrying fully capable parasite fighters or reconnaissance drones. For bio composite, is a composite material formed by a matrix and reinforcement of natural fibers. These materials are often mimic the structure of the living materials involved in the process keeping the strengthening properties of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the absence of plastic deformation does not mean that composites are brittle materials like monolithic ceramics. The heterogeneous nature of composites result in complex failure mechanisms which impart toughness. Fiber reinforced materials have been found to produce durable, reliable structural components in countless applications. The unique characteristic of composite materials, especially anisotropy, require the use of special design ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
