Math Statistics Essay
In this mathematical circumstance, it is appropriate to use the Normal Model with this data
distribution because of how roughly symmetric and unimodal. The summary statistics for the OB
Math SAT scores are as follow: the number of values is 287, the mean of the data is 553.62369, the
standard deviation is of approximately 65.984512, the medianof the data is 540, the range of the
data is 390, the minimum value is 360, the maximum value is 750, the first quartile of the data is
510, and the second quartile of the data is 590. To calculate the percent of students that had an
SAT math score higher than 560, I used the z score formula which is z score= raw score mean/
standard deviationand plugged the values for each variable. After... Show more content on

After solving for the variable and then plugged in the values and I got raw score= 0.8416
(65.984512) + 553.62369 which gave us a raw score of 609 rounded to the nearest integer. To be
in the top 5% of the class a student would need to have a SAT score of around 662. I have come
to that conclusion by simply converting 5 into a decimal number (5/100) and then plugging that
decimal number (0.05) into invNorm in the calculator which gave us invNorm (0.05, 0, 1) =
1.6448. I then changed the number into a positive value to calculate the top 5%, and then
plugged it into our raw score formula that we solved earlier and got raw score= 1.6448
(65.984512) + 553.62369 which gave us a raw score of 662 rounded to the nearest integer. To
calculate the z score at the 25th percentile of the model I converted 25 into a decimal number (25
/100) and then plugged that decimal number (0.25) into invNorm in the calculator which gave us
invNorm (0.25, 0, 1) = 0.6744. Then to calculate the raw score at the 25th percentile I plugged
the z score 0.6744 into the raw score formula we solved earlier and got raw score= 0.6744
(65.984512) + 553.62369 which gave us a raw data value of 509 rounded to the nearest integer.
The z score and raw data value at 75th percentile of the model is 0.6744 and 598. To calculate the
z score at the 75th percentile of the model I converted 75 into a decimal (75/100) and then plugged
that decimal number (0.75) into

Specifics of the Case
My name is Marshall Petersen and I own a small local health food products business. Recently, I
have been looking to expand my customer base by adding product lines that offer high quality
ingredients. Offering superior products is very important in the health food industry and my
customers rely on such products to supplement their healthy lifestyle. Approximately six months

A personally identified violation of a psychological contract is one of a negatively emotional
occurrence. The contract breach has caused me feelings of anger and stress and I feel very
deceived. I have experienced displeasure and disillusionment with the overall relationship.
(Morrison and Robinson, 1997)
Requested Remedies
In Sunday school, the grape producer discussed the importance of a covenant. A contract is a
promise that is deemed important within the Christian lifestyle.
And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
(Psalm 106:45)
The grape producer should consider the new friendship, business relationship, time invested and
advertising dollars spent before he destroys my business reputation so he can make more money.
The least he could do is allow ample time to make other supplier arrangements. He should supply
me with the product for at least six months to give me time to redirect advertising dollars and find
a new supplier. My focused advertising has only helped increase his brand while he threatens to

Advantages Of Smart Watch
Smart watch vs. luxury watch, the battle for premier time A smartwatch is an automated
wristwatch which can run mobile applications, and allows one to access several functions such as
a calculator, compass, applications to book a cab and order groceries. This can also be used to
make or answer phone calls and to send text messages. There is a possibility that the luxury watch
industry may lose its customers to the smart watch industry. The luxury watches have had a high
brand value and have been a symbol of prestige, riches, status and classiness. The introduction of
smart watch by tech savvy companies such as Samsung, Motorola, Apple and Google has brought

Analyzing crash times and costs we see that if each activity were crashed the project could be
finished in 42 weeks, however, the budget would skyrocket to $4.952 million. Therefore, the
team will need to analyze the project network and its critical path to determine which individual
activities can be crashed while maintaining the integrity of the budget and the duration of the
project. Plan to Reduce Project Duration Initial projections show that the current schedule will
take 50 weeks to finish with a final budget estimate of $3.152 million. Although the project
estimate comes in under budget, the time frame for completion extends beyond the acceptable
45 weeks. Before deciding which activities should be crashed, Bjorn and his team first need to
have a clear understanding of the project s priorities. To do this the team has first defined the
project s scope and decided to develop a project priority matrix. Defining the project scope sets
the stage for developing a plan and its primary purpose is to define as clearly as possible the
deliverables and to focus project plans (Gray Larson, 2005). The team has stated the project s
objectives, defined deliverables, established milestones and technical requirements, which help
define the project s scope and establish priorities. With the imposed deadline, completion of the

Pensacola Harbor
The naval side of the civil war in Florida all started with the Pensacola harbor. There was a navy
yard and three forts guarding the harbor, including Fort Barrancas, Fort McRee, and Fort Pickins.
On January 8, 1861, Florida Governor Madison S. Perry authorized Colonel Chase to seizing the
forts at Pensacola. On the Fort Barrancas, 1st Lieutenant Adam J. Slemmer was an officer from
Montgomery County, Pennsylvania during the Seminole Wars and the American Civil War
. He heard
rumors that the Florida Militia was planning on seizing the Navy Yard, the barracks and the forts in
the Pensacola areas. With Slemmer not wanting to enter the union he moved gunpowder and other
materials to Fort Pickens, which he thought, would be the safest port to fight from.
On January 10, 1861, Florida seceded from the U.S. being the third state to secede. On January 15
and January 18 Slemmer refused demands for surrender from Colonel William Henry Chase who
designed and constructed Fort Pickens. Fort Pickens was thought to be the first war of the civil

During Bowerman s tenure at the University of Oregon, he had coached a young middle distance

Bowerman designed most of the prototypes and made suggestions for improvement to the Tiger

Upon his release from prison, Mandela and the ANC renounced weapons and force.
Boehmer s Analysis: The Anti Apartheid mission and Mandela imitated a Gandhi style protest for
the various boycotts, Progamme of Action, and the Defiance Campaign. Eventually, the ANC and
Mandela believed the Algerian analyst Frantz Fanon armed struggle was a more effective model
against colonization. Mandela solidified his new creed in a speech to the Pan African Freedom
Movement of East and Central Africa (PAFMECA) named A Land Ruled By the Gun , where
Mandela hoped to establish a Pan African relationship with African governments and nationalist
organizations. Once released from prison, Mandela and the ANC again embraced the Gandhi form
of non violent discussion and negotiation.
My Analysis: Throughout Mandela s mission, he drew inspiration from across the myriad of the
ideological spectrum. Inspired by Gandhi, Mandela and the Anti Apartheid mission discovered the
foundation for the Defiance Campaign, M Plan, and Programme of Action. When Mandela and the
ANCYL felt the need for stronger resistance they found a new influence in Pan African support and
Frantz Fanon armed resistance. Mandela and the Anti Apartheid movement represent the duality of
political struggles capturing the anger that fuels an armed resistance and the hope that drives a
pacifist movement.

Theme Of Masculinity In Fight Club
The crisis of masculinity in the novel Fight Club. All societies have cultural accounts of gender, but
not all have the concept of masculinity . Within popular culture, the media have also come across
the perceived crisis of masculinity newspapers, documentaries and talk shows have increasingly
pondered over the changing meaning of manhood in our modern age. Research and critical studies
into men and asculinity has originated as one of the most emerging areas of sociological
investigation. Masculinity is an area of sociology that has, since the mid 1950s, drawn on many

During the post feminist era of victimization (of heterosexuality), men were left with a new concern
with their masculinities for which there was no language of feeling. All this then led to the
disparity between men s lived experiences and their inherited language of masculinity (Rutherford,
p.9). This disparity exists as a crisis of masculinity in the novel, and the narrative of Fight Club
develops toward a backlash against this disparity, wherein the efforts of the narrator are directed
toward a nostalgic response to the crisis. The narrator responds by taking part in support groups and
then establishes a Fight Club and Project Mayhem to confront this disparity, and thereby his buried
emotions. According to kaufman, many institutions of male bonding are a means to provide safety
for isolated men who need to find ways to affirm themselves, find common ground with other men

The Yellow Wall Paper, By Charlotte Perkins Gilman, And...
People should be entitled to their own identity since everybody if unique in so many ways. In
the literature we have read during this course people and women specifically are defined. These
can be metaphors used to describe the women or ho others view these women. Sometimes they do
not define themselves and are defined by the people around them; based on their looks or
stereotypes that may not represent who they are. Women are defined by others and themselves in
many ways such as seen in, Borders by Thomas King, The Yellow Wall Paper by Charlotte Perkins
Gilman, and Lysistrata by Aristophanes. These metaphors are not directly defining these women,
but defining them by their power, identity, and intelligence. In the play Lysistrata the character
uses the only power she has to control the state and the men who run it. She makes a number of I
am statements including, I am hot all over with blushes for our sex (Aristophanes 5). This quote
is showing what her power is at that time; sex is the only power women at her time possess, and
they use it to their full advantage. Also it is how the men are defining her are her power by sex.
Lysistrata is a very intelligent woman and knows that the only way to bring the war to an end,
while bringing the country back together is through the women around her and their only means of
power. The second I am I think is more powerful: I am a woman, but I m not a fool (Aristophanes
48). She fighting the metaphor bestowed upon her by

What are the origins of the journey archetype? The concept of Archetypes has been around since at

Specific Heat Lab Report
Have you ever wondered why a fire burns orange, or why a lighter burns blue towards the bottom of
the flame? If we take a quick step back, this is mostly due to a chemical reaction that is known as
the specific heat . This must be achieved (as well as the other two properties that every fire is
required to possess in order to burn) in order for a flameto become present. After this specific heat
is reached, a chemical reaction occurs and turns the fuel source of the fireinto a vapor. The aspects
that are required for a flame to be created are a heat source, some sort of fuel, as well as some
sort of oxidizing agent. The only way that a change in flame color can be observed is by

The Canadian government was fearful of Japanese spies on the coast of Vancouver. So the
government decided to tally up all the Japanese within a hundred miles of the coast and put them

Canada, the government felt it was amp;#8220;necessary ; to deport all the non citizens. This is
what Joy writes about in her novel.
The novel and the play are similar because they focus around one main minority group and their
problems. It would seem, in these stories, that when Canada is faced with a crisis, the government
takes command and sometimes encourages racism. All the racism in Canada is just like racism
throughout the world: people getting hurt for no other reason than they can help. These two stories
reflect how racism made lives of non whites suffer because of hate. This hate does not have to be
there, but sometimes people feel there is no choice but to hate.
Other similarities like the setting tells the history behind what Vancouver is today. Although

Romero Movie Analysis Of The Movie
The movie Romero portrays the life of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador. Romero (1917
1980) was assassinated because of his protests against the horrors the government did against the
people of El Salvador. I enjoyed this movie because of the deep themes and meanings that were
revealed throughout. There was no fluff in this movie, and it boldly showed graphic images and
scenes that portrayed the reality of the situation in El Salvador. Although there were times that
some of the subplots were confusing, the overall plot of the movie was straightforward and easy
to understand. The movie begins with a priest, Father Grande, encouraging the poor people to

through the danger. This active work of the priest is observed by Romero who seems to
disapprove of the Father Grande s disruption. At the beginning of the movie, Romero is quiet,
submissive, and does not like to disturb the waters of thinly held peace. These traits earn him the
spot of Archbishop of El Salvadorbecause the church leaders think he will remain uninvolved in
political affairs.
Despite the leaders hopes, this changes when Father Grande is killed. Romero begins to fully

Legalization of All Drugs Essay
Legalization of All Drugs
Legalize Drugs! I know what you re thinking, are you crazy!
The debate over the legalization of drugs continues to disturb the American public. Such an issue
stirs up moral and religious beliefs, beliefs that are contrary to what Americans should believe. I
ask all of you to please keep an open mind and hear me out on this very controversial subject. All
of us have in some way or another been affected by drug, whether it is a family member or the
economic burden on society. Americans often take at face value the assumptions that drugs cause
addiction, which leads to crime. This is true but abundant evidence exists to support the view that
legalizing illicit drugs can help solve the drug problem in America. ... Show more content on

Why would an inner city youth degrade themselves by working for five dollars an hour at
McDonalds? While some of his peers are standing on a corner, selling drugs for a couple of
hundred dollars an hour. So you risk going to jail. Unfortunately jail for some people is better
than living in the conditions, which they live in now. The slick young pushers are the new role
models for today s youth. They are wearing designer clothes and are driving the new $50,000 cars.
They are being seen everyday with a smug smile that tells the younger children that drugs pay.
One way to combat the problem is to go after the pusher: arrest them and toss them in jail. This is
the approach we use today but it is not an effective one. This is because people will do anything
and use all their intellect to avoid arrest. A lot of Americans have sufficient talent to get away
with illegal crimes. As we attempt to crack down on the violence and drug trafficking, we find
that our justice and prison systems are ill equipped to handle the problem to the magnitude as we
see now. Who is going to pay the billions of dollars required to build the prisons, hire the judges,
train the police men for the load already on hand, let alone the huge one yet to come if we ever get
serous about arresting dealers and the users. There has got to be a better way. Every day, police
officers face ruthless drug dealers, who would rather shoot an office than spend twenty five

How does the temperature and the surface area to volume ratio of water affect the rate of water
evaporation?
We believe the rate of water evaporation is affected by the temperature and surface area to volume
ratio. The hotter the temperature of the water is, the faster it evaporates, while lower temperatures
slow down the process of evaporation. Also, the bigger the surface area is, the quicker water
evaporates, while water in containers with smaller surface areas take longer to evaporate. We
carried out two experiments to prove our claim.
One of the experiments we conducted was the temperature experiment, in which our independent
variable was temperature. First, we measured 100 milliliters in two beakers of the same size. We
put the first beaker on a hot plate with the setting on 2 for 22 minutes. When we took it off, there
were 83 milliliters left in the beaker, meaning 17 milliliters had evaporated. ... Show more content

In order to carry out this experiment, we had to go through the process of multiple steps. First, we
measured 100 ml of water in two different sized square containers. The bigger container had a
surface area of 225 centimeters squared, while the smaller container s surface area was 100 cmХ·.
Next, we put both containers under a heat lamp for an equal amount of time. Then we set the
containers aside. After 3 days, we revisited the containers and measured how much water had
evaporated. The bigger container had only 22 ml of water left, meaning 78 ml had evaporated in
the 3 days, while the smaller container still had 46 ml left, suggesting that 54 milliliters of water
had evaporated over the course of the 3 days. After recording our data, we came to the conclusion
that the bigger the surface area of the container is, the faster water evaporates, while water
evaporates slower in smaller surface

The Rock Opera Jesus Christ Star
The rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar was written by Tim Rice, then 25 year old lyricist and
Andrew Lloyd Webber, then 21 year old composer. The rock opera portrays the last seven days of
the life of Jesus as it was seen through the Judas eyes. This piece of art is considered as a fairly
radical rock hybrid concerning the final days of the life of Jesus. This was the third musical that
had been written by Webber and Rice. His long fascination with Judas Iscariot made him perceive
Judas as a dear friend of Jesus who was struggling with the consequences of the growing celebrity
of Jesus rather than a craven betrayer of Christ (Evita Music, pg. 16).
Despite this musical finding broad support among the vast liberal Christian churches, the piece was
nonetheless too controversial as to get financial backing that was essential for its stage production.
The lyrics of this musical were particularly clunky and its score normally overwrought. Despite this,
this musical was the turning point of popular cultural representation of Jesus as it consequently
made a powerful statement concerning the celebrity figure in the process.
Thesis statement: The musical, Jesus Christ Superstar is about the suffering as well as the pain that
was caused to an individual by the dehumanizing effect of fame.
Jesus representation in Jesus Christ Superstar was particularly influenced by the Jesus Movement
as well as the hippie culture that emerged in California in the late 60s. This prompted several

The Salmonella Case Study
Step 1: Identify Preliminary Issues
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported the multistate outbreak of human
salmonella linked with live and frozen feeder rodents. Salmonella is a human and animal pathogen
that has many different serotypes, but one of the most common serotypes is Salmonella
Typhimurium, which this specific case focuses on. Salmonella can easily spread to people that are
in contact with infected animals, including reptiles, amphibians, rodents, birds, livestock, as well as
dogs and cats (PHAC, 2014). Moreover, animals carry this bacteria even when they are normal and
healthy. Nevertheless, pet foods can be contaminated with the Salmonella bacteria, and can infect
the pet as well (PHAC, 2014). In this case, pets that have consumed the infected rodents, also carry
the bacteria which transmits the pathogen to humans. According to the study, the key causes of this
infection are due to the fact that that rodents sold as food are associated with the pet reptiles and
amphibians through direct or indirect contact (CDC, 2014). This particular outbreak surfaced in

Also, a specific seline broth can be used to test for salmonella in the culture (Criver, 2009).

for salmonella infected animals are rare, their environments should be sterilized properly (Criver,

Investment Case Study
Do the circumstances surrounding the sale of the Collinsville plant play any role in your
willingness to buy the assets? If so, how, if not, why not?
On the one hand, the circumstances of the sale make me less willing to buy. In particular, both
Universal and the federal government think that American s acquisition creates antitrust issues. If
this is the case, American could use its market power to change the nature of the market and make
Dixon s new plant unprofitable by setting lower prices for sodium chlorate in its other plants. On
the other hand, the circumstances make me more willing to buy the assets because American has to
divest the plant to comply with a court order. Therefore, they have less leverage during the sale...

With these assumptions, the present value of the total cash flows value the plant at $7.9M.[5]
Under this valuation, the $12M offer seems high and that Dixon should not make the investment
without the laminate technology. Even if we relax the assumptions and use the lower end WACC
in our range of 14.5% and assume that capital expenditures will be the low end of the range at
$475k per annum after 1984, the deal at $12M would still be dilutive because the DCF value is
still only $8.9M.[6] At the other extreme, assuming a WACC of 18.5% and capital expenditures of
$600k per annum, the plant is only worth $7.5M.
While the model above does not account for the return of working capital at the end of year in
1989, the discounted value of this working capital is only worth about $650k and therefore does not
substantially alter the analysis.
Given this analysis, the deal is dilutive and Dixon should not make the investment.
2) Evaluate the marginal impact of the laminate technology (i.e. net present value of the costs
savings and expenses assuming that without laminate, graphite costs go up 5% per year after 1984
and power costs rise 12% after 1984).

costs by 15 20%. Assuming the

genetic information of all citizens. This information will be derived from human material. There is
controversy over the idea of expanding from criminals to all citizens due to a threat to human

The Sculpture Of Nataraj The King Of Dance
This essay will focus on the sculpture of Nataraja, meaning The King of Dance . The sculpture
represents one of the three major deities of Hindu religion called Lord Shiva. It centres around the
idea of Lord Shiva being the creator and destroyer of the world. The reason I chose this sculpture
is because, I want to gain more knowledge of the spiritual and religious messages connected to the
sculpture as well as understand its importance to Hinduism.
In my opinion, the sculpture is very beautiful and detailed, it shows Shiva with four arms and two
legs in a dance posture known as Nataraja. The name comes from one of the oldest languages in
India known as Sanskrit. The term Nata convey to dance and Raja to king, meaning king of
dance. The height of the sculpture is 48cm by 36cm, and every single features of his cosmic
dance posture signifies the creation and destruction of the world. The figure of Lord Shiva stands
within a circle of flames and it is seen as the endless cycle of birth and rebirth, within this Shiva
dances to his cosmic dance of bliss.
The two stretched out upper hands of Shiva are positioned to reveal the sense of balance between
the powers of creation and destruction. In his right upper hand Shiva holds a drum shaped like an
hour glass, it provides the sound of rhythm to which Shiva dances. But it is also represented as the
drum which made the first sound and summoned things into existence. In contrast his upper left
hand holds flame of fire, which

Long-Term Consequences of Childhood Exposure to Domestic...
Long Term Consequences of Childhood Exposure to Domestic Violence
Abstract:
Domestic violence effects everybody in a family. Patterns of abuse from one parent to another,
between both parents or directed toward a child all have a composite effect of inflicting potentially
severe emotional damage upon the child. The research outlined here identifies domestic violence as
a serious sociological problem and consequently provides a usable definition of domestic violence
for the present study. This is followed by a discussion on the various psychological consequences
of exposure to domestic violence for a developing child. This includes acknowledgement of the
manner in which this exposure may damage the ability to formulate healthy social relationships
later in life as well as a greater proclivity toward behavior problems, learning difficulties, substance
abuse and a learned pattern of violent tendencies.
Outline:
Introduction:
Problem Identification: Domestic violence is a widespread sociological problem wherein women
and children are most often the victims. The problem is compounded by the fact that so much
domestic violence goes under reported
Support: According to an article by Hannah (1998), sparse data exists on the number of domestic
violence cases that arrive in the criminal justice system and what happens to them once they get
there. (44) The federal government and a majority of the states collect statistics on domestic
violence, but there are wide variations in

Human Rights During The War On Terror Essay
INTP 245 Research Essay
What role do Human Rights play in the war on terror? How has this affected the foreign policy of
the United States of America when combating this war?
When looking internationally over the past decade there has been an emergence of vague definable
terms that act as holistic guidelines for how international order should be constructed. One of these
terms is human rights which acts as a set of overarching guidelines that all States should aim for
and achieve. States have incorporated the ideals of human rights into their foreign policies in
various ways especially in the area of war and conflict. This essay will focus on what role human
rights play in the war on terror and how the human rights discourse has affected the United States of
America s (USA) foreign policy on the war on terror. This ultimately illustrates that the Western
construct of human rights is an invaluable policy tool as a mandate to interfere in other states
affairs and USA have continually utilised it as such a tool.
The concept of human rights has become ambiguous, with very little agreement regarding its
meaning and application internationally. The concept of human rights could be deemed as what
Gallie termed as an essentially contested concept. This argues that when it comes to certain
concepts there is just simply no one clearly definable general use that is widely agreed on. There
are a variety of elements and words that can be used to describe the concepts of human

Circumstantial Evidence
Physical Evidence is evidence that is seen at the crime scene. They are objects that may contain
vital information that are laying around the area of where the crime is committed. These objects are
sent to research facilities to see if the objects are useful in finding out what really happened during
the crime. If they are useless, then they will not change the thought of those who wish to know the
truth. But if they hold information that will turn the tide of a court case, then they will be used.
Circumstantial evidenceis what most prosecutors use in the court of law. This evidencecomes from
clues found at the scene that have something very defining about them. For example, no two
people have the same fingerprint. So if one is found at the crime scene, then it may lead to
something important. Or maybe not, since it may have been accidental, but you never know.

defense attorneys frequently attack the validity of forensic evidence by pointing to lapses in the

that if the evidence does have some things that don t make sense, then it would be obvious that
they were messed with and then someone could be called out and it may head towards the truth
being revealed. And they mention this at the end of the text, which is suspicious since when
someone sees the bottom of the page, they feel relieved and think that they just want to get through
the rest and may not care as much. They may have done this so many people skip over it and think

Ralph Waldo Emerson Individualism
Ralph Waldo Emerson define individualism with the characteristics of a non conformist. He
believes that someone is an individual if they do not simply follow society blindly or for the
beneficial of themselves. In his essay it states, Society is a joint stock company in which the
members agree for the better securing of hs bread to each shareholder, to surrender the liberty and

Drug Trafficking And Its Effects On America
In regard to Latin America, this area is a crucial geographical zone for drug trafficking and
production. Due to the location, the drug trade has found its perfect home, vast mountains and
forests enable huge farms to produce and ship drugs to any region they want. Whether it is
Colombia, Peru or one of the many countries found to be in this vast collection of drugtrafficking, it
is apparent that they all share similar geographies that allow the trade to continue. As a result of
this, countries in this region have been subjugated to many imperialistic like efforts to eradicate this
growing issue, regardless of involvement. Through the use of diplomacy and past military
intervention, the U.S. and other countries have tried to keep a grip on the ever growing drug ring
surrounding this area. Unfortunately, it has become evident that the effort given by the U.S. is not
enough to combat this ever growing and secure market. Drug trafficking first started to show itself
in Latin America during the years from the 1960s to 1970s, when the use of drugs began to become
more popular throughout the youth of this period ( Crandal ). During this time, the people in these
exporting countries started to see a large growth in the revenues brought upon by the trafficking,
and rural communities began to supply more and more drugs, beginning with Marijuana, but
eventually becoming a much larger exporter of cocaine( Drug Trafficking ). Cocaine began to seem
like the perfect drug to traffic

How Did Charlemagne Influence The Crusades Dbq
Kacie Lee Tomasetti AP World P.6 11/11/17 AP World ID #10 1. Charlemagne (252 254)
Charlemagne became the the ruler of the Franks in 768. He established a centralized royal
government and largely created the Carolingian empire. He kept a tactful relationship with both
the Byzantine empire and Abbasid ruler. Under his rule he extended the empire into northeast
Spain, Bavaria, and Italy. He was seen as a royal overlord, so other rulers in Europe and Italy paid
accolade to him. He created his capital in Aachen and in order to preserve his jurisdiction, he had to
continuously travel throughout his empire. In order to have a tighter grip on the people who ruled

Summary Of Tales From The Wisconsin Badgers Sideline
Tales from the Wisconsin Badgers Sideline by Justin Doherty is a collection of important
moments in history for the Badgers football team at the University of Wisconsin Madison. It has
an informative style to convey important information to the reader. This style is supported by
organization, details, and syntax. Organization supports the informative style of the book. Justin
Doherty organized this book very well by making everything in chronological order. This makes it
less confusing for the reader to understand when events happened in relation to other events.
Doherty divided the history of Badgers football into chapters. Beginning in 1889 and ranging until
2011, each chapter is a time period. Most of the chapters cover a time period of... Show more

Sentence length is an element of syntax that is used to support the informative style. Doherty
describes an important game that the Badgers won. The 17 9 victory over 6th Nationally ranked
Penn State ended a 20 game winning streak for the Nittany Lions under the coach Joe Paterno.
While the Badgers were getting a remarkably efficient performance from quarterback Darrell
Bevell (18 of 22 passing for 192 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions), the Wisconsin
defense was putting the clamps on a potent offense that was averaging 50 points and 531 yards
per game and included standout receivers Bobby Engram and Freddie Scott (Doherty, 104). This
incredibly long sentence provides a lot of detail. It tells the reader that both the offense and the
defense from the Badgers had been unstoppable that day. It supports the informative style
because it is trying to give the reader a lot of information at once. Doherty wants to make sure
that the reader knows that the Badgers were playing at an incredible level that day. Sentence type
also supports the informative style. Some sentences in this book are balanced sentences, meaning
they have phrases that have similar length, structure, or meaning. Doherty tells the reader about
Heisman Trophy and former Wisconsin Badger Ron Dayne. Dayne, of course, set the NCAA
Division 1 career rushing record in the Badgers final regular season game of 1999.... Dayne
carried 1,220 times for 7,125 yards and 71 touchdowns during his four year Wisconsin career.
(Doherty, 110). The repetition helps the reader hold onto information that is written. Its informative
tone is supported because the balanced sentences make it easy for the reader to

Hereditary Conformities

Research: Hereditary Conditions and Deformities
Out of all the different hereditary conditions and deformities that one can have, I chose to talk
about anemia. Anemia is a condition that develops when your body lacks red blood cells or
hemoglobin in the blood. This is very serious because in your body, the red blood cells are there
to transport oxygen to your organs. When you lack the red blood cells, you are losing oxygen.
Anemia will affect everyone differently. There are more than 400 types of anemia that one person
may obtain. The different signs of anemia may vary depending on your type of anemia. Symptoms
to look for include being dizzy, weak, yellow or pale looking skin, headaches, heart problems, chest
pain, hair loss, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, there are some that we could try to stay away from like iron deficiency anemia and vitamin
deficiency anemia. These two types can be avoided by taking vitamins and nutrients that contain
iron, folate, vitamin B12, and vitamin C. If you may have concerns about the vitamins and
nutrients you are receiving from your foods, ask your doctor about a multivitamin that can help
out with decreasing your chances at getting anemia. There are different treatments for the
different types of anemia. With the form of Iron deficiency anemia (mild case), the treatment
will be to just take more iron. If there is major bleeding, the source of the bleeding must be
located and stopped from doing any further damage. This treatment will include surgery. The
type of anemia called aplastic anemia is treated by doing blood transfusions to raise your blood
cell levels. Each type of anemia is different, and not every single type of anemia can have a
treatment. If the cause of anemia is another disease, the doctors will focus more on trying to treat
the other disease which could possibly stop the anemia. Anemia isn t something that is easy for
others. It will affect their everyday life. A way that we can try to make these people feel better is
by doing only what they can handle with them. It will take off a lot of stress on their side, and can

The World Trade Organization ( Wto )
The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the most powerful legislative and judicial body in the
world. It is an international organization that established to supervise and liberalize international
trade. In total, there were 159 membership countries of the WTO in 2013. The WTO was created
as part of the result of the Uruguay Round negotiations that concluded on 15th of December 1993.
It was officially commenced on January 1, 1995 under the Marrakech Agreement, and resulted
from a series of General Agreements of Tariffs and Trade, which started after the Second World
War in 1947 (Winham, 2014: p. 127). The WTO is the first global, constantly operating

It is also beneficial in raising incomes and stimulating economic growth. As an example, China
is one of the countries who have experienced rapid economic growth after joining WTO. In 2002,
China s first year in membership of WTO, their total foreign trade import export value reached
US$620.8 billion with growth rate of 21.8 percent over the previous year (Pei, Fung and Zhang,
2006: p. 3). One of the main tasks of the WTO is to promote trade negotiations (Winham, 2014: p.
131). According to Winham, the WTO announced major new negotiations telecom agreement and
financial services agreement The telecom agreement produced new liberalizing commitments from
69 governments covering 90 percent of global telecom revenues, and financial services agreement
included 56 scheduled offers from seventy countries (Winham, 2014: pp. 131 132). This means
that the agreement was to control pricing to make global communications more competitive, by
insuring no company from any country could overcharge for its telecommunications. The WTO
was successful and performed very well until 2001. Then why did the WTO suddenly fall into
crisis since 2001? Unlike other rounds or negotiations, the WTO s Doha round in 2001 has failed
and I believe the failure of the Doha Round is the main reason. The Doha round is the first
multilateral trade negotiation round since the creation of the WTO. It was officially

Essay On Mortal Life
It was only suppose to be out of curiosity. Nothing more, nothing less... so how did it end up like
this?
Aomine was used to getting hit on by strangers of the human world. His flawless skin, deep ocean
blue eyes, and his elegant moves attracted plenty of attention. He was use to shrugging off the
attention. He got plenty of it in Mount Olympus by gods that meant more than these merely
humans. However, he found himself attracted to a human with hair red as fire and passionate
burning rubies for eyes. It was almost weird, the mortal man almost reminded him of his father
Akashi. The stranger was dressed in denim pants and a white T shirt with a leather jacket loosely

the sound of students getting out of their classes.
Attention was instantly on them as students began to migrate to their lockers. The redhead cleared

Myocarditis Research Paper
Myocarditis, a disease attacking the lymphatic system, is inflammation of the heart muscle. It
affects the heart s muscles and lowers the heart s ability to pump, which causes arrhythmias. The
lymphatic, or immune, system does two main things; transport lymph throughout networks of
vessels called lymphatic vessels, and fight off viruses that can harm the body. The body is filled
with lymph nodes, which filter the lymph. They are near the heart, the lungs, and even closer to the
skin (ie armpit). The lymph nodes are scattered almost everywhere between the head and the knees.
Myocarditis is usually found in late adulthood, but can sometimes occur in children. The cause of
this disease isn t always known. However, there are multiple potential causes.... Show more content

There are many viruses that are connected to myocarditis including; the common cold, herpes
simplex, and hepatitis B C. The next potential cause is bacteria. There are a few commonly known
bacteria that are linked to myocarditis, a few of which include: streptococcus and staphylococcus.
Another potential cause of myocarditis is parasites. Some of these parasites are transmitted by
insects. This cause is more prevalent in Central and South America but it can occur in travellers.
The final potential cause is fungi. In people with weakened immune systems, yeast infections,
molds, and other fungi can cause myocarditis. In addition to these causes, there are some behaviors
that could also spur myocarditis along. These include: medications, illegal drugs, radiation,
chemical, and lupus. There are many symptoms that could help identify myocarditis, including (but
not limited to): fatigue, shortness of breath, arrhythmias, chest pain, body aches, headaches, fever,

What Is A Transgender Rebuttal
Transgender Rebuttal:
Hello there, I m James Warmbier. I have to disagree with your sectionalism essay on being
transgender. I disagree with this because transgender people are human beings just like us. They
should not be judged for what they do with their bodies. In my opinion, it s just another form of
racism. And this country has way too much of that already.
Unfortunately, in your life, there will be a lot of things that creep you out. Just because
something creeps you out , doesn t mean it s wrong. Also, being creeped out isn t really a valid
reason. People don t go up to you and say You re creepy. Would you agree if a women got breast
implants? That s changing your body too. It would be pretty ridiculous to go up to that women and
say You re creepy. . Right?
Saying that transgender kids should not be able to go to school or even be separated in stores is
very extreme. I don t see why they shouldn t get an education. But having them separated in
stores is too crazy. How would they be able to shop for things they may need. In comparison, what
you re saying is just like when slavery was around. Whites were separated from blacks, but in this
situation, all people are separated from transgender s.
I don t really see what you mean by a controlled society . The people who discriminate are in the
way . It s not the transgender communities fault. If a male feels like a female, it s alright for a
person to change and not be discriminated against. They are the same

  • 2. Math Statistics Essay In this mathematical circumstance, it is appropriate to use the Normal Model with this data distribution because of how roughly symmetric and unimodal. The summary statistics for the OB Math SAT scores are as follow: the number of values is 287, the mean of the data is 553.62369, the standard deviation is of approximately 65.984512, the medianof the data is 540, the range of the data is 390, the minimum value is 360, the maximum value is 750, the first quartile of the data is 510, and the second quartile of the data is 590. To calculate the percent of students that had an SAT math score higher than 560, I used the z score formula which is z score= raw score mean/ standard deviationand plugged the values for each variable. After... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After solving for the variable and then plugged in the values and I got raw score= 0.8416 (65.984512) + 553.62369 which gave us a raw score of 609 rounded to the nearest integer. To be in the top 5% of the class a student would need to have a SAT score of around 662. I have come to that conclusion by simply converting 5 into a decimal number (5/100) and then plugging that decimal number (0.05) into invNorm in the calculator which gave us invNorm (0.05, 0, 1) = 1.6448. I then changed the number into a positive value to calculate the top 5%, and then plugged it into our raw score formula that we solved earlier and got raw score= 1.6448 (65.984512) + 553.62369 which gave us a raw score of 662 rounded to the nearest integer. To calculate the z score at the 25th percentile of the model I converted 25 into a decimal number (25 /100) and then plugged that decimal number (0.25) into invNorm in the calculator which gave us invNorm (0.25, 0, 1) = 0.6744. Then to calculate the raw score at the 25th percentile I plugged the z score 0.6744 into the raw score formula we solved earlier and got raw score= 0.6744 (65.984512) + 553.62369 which gave us a raw data value of 509 rounded to the nearest integer. The z score and raw data value at 75th percentile of the model is 0.6744 and 598. To calculate the z score at the 75th percentile of the model I converted 75 into a decimal (75/100) and then plugged that decimal number (0.75) into ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Defining the project scope sets the stage for developing a plan and its primary purpose is to define as clearly as possible the deliverables and to focus project plans (Gray Larson, 2005). Mandela solidified his new creed in a speech to the Pan African Freedom Movement of East and Central Africa (PAFMECA) named A Land Ruled By the Gun , where Mandela hoped to establish a Pan African relationship with African governments and nationalist organizations. This disparity exists as a crisis of masculinity in the novel, and the narrative of Fight Club develops toward a backlash against this disparity, wherein the efforts of the narrator are directed toward a nostalgic response to the crisis. The narrator responds by taking part in support groups and then establishes a Fight Club and Project Mayhem to confront this disparity, and thereby his buried emotions. • 16. The Yellow Wall Paper, By Charlotte Perkins Gilman, And... People should be entitled to their own identity since everybody if unique in so many ways. In the literature we have read during this course people and women specifically are defined. These can be metaphors used to describe the women or ho others view these women. Sometimes they do not define themselves and are defined by the people around them; based on their looks or stereotypes that may not represent who they are. Women are defined by others and themselves in many ways such as seen in, Borders by Thomas King, The Yellow Wall Paper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and Lysistrata by Aristophanes. These metaphors are not directly defining these women, but defining them by their power, identity, and intelligence. In the play Lysistrata the character uses the only power she has to control the state and the men who run it. She makes a number of I am statements including, I am hot all over with blushes for our sex (Aristophanes 5). This quote is showing what her power is at that time; sex is the only power women at her time possess, and they use it to their full advantage. Also it is how the men are defining her are her power by sex. Lysistrata is a very intelligent woman and knows that the only way to bring the war to an end, while bringing the country back together is through the women around her and their only means of power. The second I am I think is more powerful: I am a woman, but I m not a fool (Aristophanes 48). She fighting the metaphor bestowed upon her by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If we take a quick step back, this is mostly due to a chemical reaction that is known as the specific heat . After this specific heat is reached, a chemical reaction occurs and turns the fuel source of the fireinto a vapor. It would seem, in these stories, that when Canada is faced with a crisis, the government takes command and sometimes encourages racism. All the racism in Canada is just like racism throughout the world: people getting hurt for no other reason than they can help. Romero (1917 1980) was assassinated because of his protests against the horrors the government did against the people of El Salvador. I enjoyed this movie because of the deep themes and meanings that were revealed throughout. There was no fluff in this movie, and it boldly showed graphic images and scenes that portrayed the reality of the situation in El Salvador. Although there were times that some of the subplots were confusing, the overall plot of the movie was straightforward and easy to understand. The movie begins with a priest, Father Grande, encouraging the poor people to vote, but the voters are shot at by guerilla soldiers and the soldiers force the people to walk through the danger. This active work of the priest is observed by Romero who seems to disapprove of the Father Grande s disruption. At the beginning of the movie, Romero is quiet, submissive, and does not like to disturb the waters of thinly held peace. These traits earn him the spot of Archbishop of El Salvadorbecause the church leaders think he will remain uninvolved in political affairs. Despite the leaders hopes, this changes when Father Grande is killed. Romero begins to fully realize the horrors of the government, and he starts to take a stand for the people. • 22. Science ADI Lab Science ADI Lab Chart How does the temperature and the surface area to volume ratio of water affect the rate of water evaporation? We believe the rate of water evaporation is affected by the temperature and surface area to volume ratio. The hotter the temperature of the water is, the faster it evaporates, while lower temperatures slow down the process of evaporation. Also, the bigger the surface area is, the quicker water evaporates, while water in containers with smaller surface areas take longer to evaporate. We carried out two experiments to prove our claim. One of the experiments we conducted was the temperature experiment, in which our independent variable was temperature. First, we measured 100 milliliters in two beakers of the same size. We put the first beaker on a hot plate with the setting on 2 for 22 minutes. When we took it off, there were 83 milliliters left in the beaker, meaning 17 milliliters had evaporated. ... • 27. The Rock Opera Jesus Christ Star The rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar was written by Tim Rice, then 25 year old lyricist and Andrew Lloyd Webber, then 21 year old composer. The rock opera portrays the last seven days of the life of Jesus as it was seen through the Judas eyes. This piece of art is considered as a fairly radical rock hybrid concerning the final days of the life of Jesus. This was the third musical that had been written by Webber and Rice. His long fascination with Judas Iscariot made him perceive Judas as a dear friend of Jesus who was struggling with the consequences of the growing celebrity of Jesus rather than a craven betrayer of Christ (Evita Music, pg. 16). Despite this musical finding broad support among the vast liberal Christian churches, the piece was nonetheless too controversial as to get financial backing that was essential for its stage production. The lyrics of this musical were particularly clunky and its score normally overwrought. Despite this, this musical was the turning point of popular cultural representation of Jesus as it consequently made a powerful statement concerning the celebrity figure in the process. Thesis statement: The musical, Jesus Christ Superstar is about the suffering as well as the pain that was caused to an individual by the dehumanizing effect of fame. The Salmonella Case Study Step 1: Identify Preliminary Issues The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported the multistate outbreak of human salmonella linked with live and frozen feeder rodents. Salmonella is a human and animal pathogen that has many different serotypes, but one of the most common serotypes is Salmonella Typhimurium, which this specific case focuses on. Salmonella can easily spread to people that are in contact with infected animals, including reptiles, amphibians, rodents, birds, livestock, as well as dogs and cats (PHAC, 2014). Moreover, animals carry this bacteria even when they are normal and healthy. Nevertheless, pet foods can be contaminated with the Salmonella bacteria, and can infect the pet as well (PHAC, 2014). In this case, pets that have consumed the infected rodents, also carry the bacteria which transmits the pathogen to humans. According to the study, the key causes of this infection are due to the fact that that rodents sold as food are associated with the pet reptiles and amphibians through direct or indirect contact (CDC, 2014). On the one hand, the circumstances of the sale make me less willing to buy. In particular, both Universal and the federal government think that American s acquisition creates antitrust issues. If this is the case, American could use its market power to change the nature of the market and make Dixon s new plant unprofitable by setting lower prices for sodium chlorate in its other plants. On the other hand, the circumstances make me more willing to buy the assets because American has to divest the plant to comply with a court order. With these assumptions, the present value of the total cash flows value the plant at $7.9M.[5] Under this valuation, the $12M offer seems high and that Dixon should not make the investment without the laminate technology. Even if we relax the assumptions and use the lower end WACC in our range of 14.5% and assume that capital expenditures will be the low end of the range at $475k per annum after 1984, the deal at $12M would still be dilutive because the DCF value is still only $8.9M.[6] At the other extreme, assuming a WACC of 18.5% and capital expenditures of $600k per annum, the plant is only worth $7.5M. While the model above does not account for the return of working capital at the end of year in 1989, the discounted value of this working capital is only worth about $650k and therefore does not substantially alter the analysis. Given this analysis, the deal is dilutive and Dixon should not make the investment. 2) Evaluate the marginal impact of the laminate technology (i.e. net present value of the costs savings and expenses assuming that without laminate, graphite costs go up 5% per year after 1984 and power costs rise 12% after 1984). • 35. Essay About Immigrant Experience There are bombs exploding that sound like drums. Guns shots that sound like the ring of bell and the screams of the fallen soldier that sound like all hope is gone. Families are being separated and taken from one another, not knowing if they will ever see them again. They have to move to another country, and try to adapt to the new language, the new food, the new clothes, and the new people. While dealing with all that they have to try to be accepted by these new people who don t understand them and their journey. This is what immigrants have to endure when war has struck their home. Immigrants face many challenges when they are adjusting to their new life style. One challenges immigrants face is war memory or their old life memory. Immigrants can be paranoid and alert. They can hear the little thingswhen its quite because of all the loud noises they heard before. They also have the little things that make them remember the old life they have lived. I suck in breath: a photograph of a papaya tree swaying broad, fanlike leaves in the full sun, showing of a bundle of fat orange piglets. • 36. The Sculpture Of Nataraj The King Of Dance This essay will focus on the sculpture of Nataraja, meaning The King of Dance . The sculpture represents one of the three major deities of Hindu religion called Lord Shiva. It centres around the idea of Lord Shiva being the creator and destroyer of the world. The reason I chose this sculpture is because, I want to gain more knowledge of the spiritual and religious messages connected to the sculpture as well as understand its importance to Hinduism. In my opinion, the sculpture is very beautiful and detailed, it shows Shiva with four arms and two legs in a dance posture known as Nataraja. The name comes from one of the oldest languages in India known as Sanskrit. The term Nata convey to dance and Raja to king, meaning king of dance. The height of the sculpture is 48cm by 36cm, and every single features of his cosmic dance posture signifies the creation and destruction of the world. The figure of Lord Shiva stands within a circle of flames and it is seen as the endless cycle of birth and rebirth, within this Shiva dances to his cosmic dance of bliss. The two stretched out upper hands of Shiva are positioned to reveal the sense of balance between the powers of creation and destruction. In his right upper hand Shiva holds a drum shaped like an hour glass, it provides the sound of rhythm to which Shiva dances. But it is also represented as the drum which made the first sound and summoned things into existence. In contrast his upper left hand holds flame of fire, which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Patterns of abuse from one parent to another, between both parents or directed toward a child all have a composite effect of inflicting potentially severe emotional damage upon the child. The research outlined here identifies domestic violence as a serious sociological problem and consequently provides a usable definition of domestic violence for the present study. This is followed by a discussion on the various psychological consequences of exposure to domestic violence for a developing child. This includes acknowledgement of the manner in which this exposure may damage the ability to formulate healthy social relationships later in life as well as a greater proclivity toward behavior problems, learning difficulties, substance abuse and a learned pattern of violent tendencies. Outline: Introduction: Problem Identification: Domestic violence is a widespread sociological problem wherein women and children are most often the victims. The problem is compounded by the fact that so much domestic violence goes under reported Support: According to an article by Hannah (1998), sparse data exists on the number of domestic violence cases that arrive in the criminal justice system and what happens to them once they get there. How has this affected the foreign policy of the United States of America when combating this war? When looking internationally over the past decade there has been an emergence of vague definable terms that act as holistic guidelines for how international order should be constructed. One of these terms is human rights which acts as a set of overarching guidelines that all States should aim for and achieve. States have incorporated the ideals of human rights into their foreign policies in various ways especially in the area of war and conflict. This essay will focus on what role human rights play in the war on terror and how the human rights discourse has affected the United States of America s (USA) foreign policy on the war on terror. This ultimately illustrates that the Western construct of human rights is an invaluable policy tool as a mandate to interfere in other states affairs and USA have continually utilised it as such a tool. The concept of human rights has become ambiguous, with very little agreement regarding its meaning and application internationally. The concept of human rights could be deemed as what Gallie termed as an essentially contested concept. This argues that when it comes to certain concepts there is just simply no one clearly definable general use that is widely agreed on. There are a variety of elements and words that can be used to describe the concepts of human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
