America s Fear Of Crime
America s fear of crime has developed an incarceration binge that has resulted in a disparity in
America s prisons, largely, affecting the underclass; dishonored groups caught in a symbiosis of the
ghetto and prison, meaning, that ghettos have become more like prisons, and so undermined the
inmate society, as such, turned prisons, more like ghettos; hence, developed a state wherein the
criminal justice system is the instrument to control the poor (Wacquant, 2010). Inevitably, societal
isolation, constraints the agency of the poor; their racial isolation develops environments, where
residential instability, family disruption and economic inequality facilitate marginality, unequivocally
deprecating poor minorities life chances. Largely, due to socioeconomic forces and manipulation of
institutional arrangements by powerful elites, which in turn, perpetuate the inmate disparity. Thus,
maintains the underclass caste, more succinctly, an American apartheid.
Accordingly, general consensus portrays inner cities (i.e. generally poor black neighborhoods), as the
apparatus of crime. In this view, crime emanates from the poor, and so generates an environment
credible fear that intensifies racism and frantic search for solutions in the form of draconian laws (e.g.,
zero tolerance, War on Drugs policies) that target the underclass and serve to advance formal social
control via prisons. Destitute minorities, disproportionately black and Latino, therefore, are convicted

I Am A Leader Of A Group People
I took a couple of the color personality quizzes and according to the first color personality quiz I was a
Red. I agree with this, I am an great leader. I am a great leader I make sure everyone s opinions and
ideas are heard. I also make sure every person gets an opportunity to speak and have a say about what
goes down on the paper or computer. When I am a leader of a group people sometimes say that I am a

about chemicals and asking for help when I need it. I will be better at math by asking for help with
dividing and multiplying fractions, and learn new things new things. I will accomplish this goal by the

Pill Vs Vaccination
On the contrary, some parents tend to have the fallacy that the measles vaccine is linked with autism.
According to The New York Times, there is simply no scientific evidence that links vaccines to
autism, and a study with more than fifteen million children, looking specifically at the MMR vaccine
[which is the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine] could find no evidence that vaccines are
associated with autism (Carroll).
Nonetheless, parents were still refusing to accept this research. Scientists countered by conducting
another study which was published in the American Medical Association, in 2015, which followed an
estimated 100,000 children from birth to the age of five, in which researchers once again looked at
whether the MMR vaccine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ricardo Semler s Leadership Style
1. Describe Ricardo Semler s leadership style. What do you think the advantages and drawbacks of his
style might be?
Ricardo Semler s leadership style can be described as radical. This approach encourages followers to
share their ideas and apply their creativity and ingenuity to reach the company s goals. The employees
have the opportunity to offer suggestions to improve the company. Also, every employee establishes
their norms and their way of completing their job. They are free to choose their schedule, their level of
salary, and who will be their boss. This model gives the employee a positive feedback since they are
recognized for their good work and ideas.
Some of the advantages the radical leadership style has are:
The employees feel that they have greater responsibility and trust put on them, this can generate
greater participation, commitment and a better job performance.
Each employee is responsible for their own performance, creating self commitment.
There are no restrictions on resources or schedules that prevent them to carry out their work properly.
Subordinates are free to choose their schedule and their level of salary.
The employees have to assume the consequences of their actions.
The type of communication is open, there are no defined controls or pressures.
Each employee has the opportunity to vote in the election of the company s leadership and new
initiatives.
The obstacles that can be found can also be some of the advantages

The author describes the impending the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada on whether current
Canadian prostitution laws are putting female sex workers at risk for violence and murder. These laws
can change the ability to do sex work in Canada, as prostitution itself is not illegal but the Supreme
Court may direct certain bans if voted in. This paper reveals the laws are mainly aimed to protect
women against harm since a year before Robert Pickton murdered many female sex workers in British

Sports Drinks In Sports
Do sports drinks help improve performance of non professional athletes? I believe that they do not and
that drinking water would be more beneficial. During exercise, water is lost in the form of sweat, as a
way of helping to maintain a stable body temperature. Sweat losses vary from person to person and
can be affected by an individual s genetics, body size and level of fitness. Also most people are likely
to sweat more as it gets hotter and more humid, as well as with an increased level of activity. Sports
drinks have a lot of salt and sugar in them and could make the athlete consume more calories than they
are burning. Sports drinks are also sold to many children who would not be doing as much work as
their idols do and would be consuming too much sugar for their daily recommended needs of 20
grams. How much activity do you have to do to need to drink a sports drink for it to be beneficial for
your performance? I m using information conducted by Oxford University and the British Medical

My First Experience At Bridgetown Church
My first experience at Bridgetown church was very long overdue and very interesting. Most all of my
friends and family all have been inviting me to Bridgetown specifically because they all really enjoy a
specific pastor there that speaks on Sunday services. I never saw the need to go, mainly because of my
night shifts are scheduled so oddly I was afraid of falling asleep at a religious sermon that I was not
interested in embarrassing myself at and also not wanting to go out of my way to attend something
that I was not particularly interested in. Bluntly writing I did not want to waste my time to go to
something I wasn t very excited about, especially when I do not know what to expect. This assignment
did give the opportunity a bigger reason and I am glad to have been able to make such an insightful
visit that I may not mind trying again in the near future. The Bridgetown church service gathers in a
historical Portland church that has beautiful architecture, called the First Baptist Church. Located on
SW 11th and Taylor Street almost in the heart of downtown Portland. I went to the very last service of
three, given every Sunday, held at 7pm, known for young adults because of its close location to
Portland State University. The fact that there are three services given in one day was very shocking to
me, that a community of people would devote to doing the same exact thing three times once a week
seems very time consuming and loyal to me. The certain Sunday that I attended

Firewalls And Intrusion Detection Systems Essay
In an e commerce world, organizations are susceptible to hackers and intruders. Thus creating the
information technology protection systems which is used to reduce the possibility of intrusions from
occurring. Intrusions occur by uninvited outsiders (sometimes intruders can be internal users like
employees) who try to access an organization s information system using the internet with the intent to
gain competitive advantage of some sort. Organizations depend on security technology to avoid loss
from security breach, as well as to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. However, firewalls are
also vulnerable to errors, and implementing a security technology comes with challenges and critical
decisions that can possibly cause a financial burden on the organization if done without seriousness
and commitment. Information security is about managing risk, and managing risk is about discovering
and measuring threats to information assets; and taking actions to respond to those threats (Al Awadi,
Renaud, 2007, p.3). This paper will discuss a few aspects that are involved with firewalls and
intrusion detection systems.
Firewalls is categorized as a preventive control which is used as a defense shield around IT systems to
keep intruders and hacking from occurring, whereas, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) which is
categorized as a detective control is used to detect intrusions that have already occurred (Cavusoglu,
Mishra, Raghunathan, 2005). However, IDSs are not

The Fall Of Death, Destruction And War
In the wake of death, destruction and war came the renaissance. The renaissance was an era of cultural
rebirth that swept across Europe during the 14th to 17th century . This era marked the time in which
man returned to their classical learning and values of ancient rome and greece and began to change
their attitude towards religion (history.com staff). While the renaissance is in the past it continues to
live on throughout many different fields of art, theories and movements, however, paintings tend to be
most symbolic of what the renaissance era was. The Renaissance era was faced with the hundred years
war, the black death, classicism and the issues of religion such as the distancing from church and
humankind s search for the meaning of their existence and how life works. With these ongoing issues
renaissance paintings were often depicting images of war, death, the values from ancient greece and
rome and they became more secular as well. Additionally, the artist began to develop new techniques
such as linear perspective, realism, depth, symmetry, and classicism. Artists also began to make use of
light, detail anatomy, depict nature and focus on individuals instead of groups of people. Leonardo da
Vinci, is one of the most famous painters and at 15 was an apprentice to Andrea del Verrocchio
(history.com staff). He was also an inventor, scientist, doctor and philosopher and has been nicknamed
the renaissance man (history.com staff). Da vinci is an artist whose

Possible Potential
Due to sudden hit of recession in the year 2009, Evian had to lose most of its market share. The status
which was built by Evian for water bottles was huge and tremendous. The limited edition bottles made
by Evian were specially designed by Jean Pual Gaultier and Haute Couture, which are amongst the
renowned designers in France. From this we could understand that Evian had a great marketing
potential but it lacked in some of its marketing strategies.

1. Facebook: It is one of the most visited website amongst all social media modes of communications.
Every third person is on facebook, which makes in itself a huge place for marketing any new product

possible. Thus this will give them a quality members and the brand would be able to maintain its
status symbol. The brand should not be embarrassed in sharing a water bottle commercial online. For
facebook the brand should recommend some famous personalities from sports to Hollywood to post
their selfies with the brand on facebook. Since the people get easily related with such personalities it
will help the brand to rise at a faster rate.
2. Twitter: In comparison with Facebook, twitter is not popularly used by the people. Since the Twitter
account of Evian was not regularly updated it lost its majority of followers. We think that besides
Facebook, the twitter account should be regularly updated with tweets. The recent drive held by Evian
Babies and young people was huge hit online. The ad received numerous tweets online, thus keeping

What Is English The World Language Essay
English has become the world dominant language due to many factors. From the seventeenth century

which made the English language even more popular in these domains and with people. Seeing that all
the important domains and all the popular people in all different domains can speak English, that made
people want to know learn it even more so they can understand what is going on around them and to

Revenge In The Tempest
Imagine someone embarrassing you in front an audience, what would you do? Normally in situations
like these, we would try and get back at them to feel what we ve felt.Instead of trying to get back at

vengeance teaches people their lesson, there is more value in forgiveness than vengeance because it
helps you with your well being, correlation, and makes you feel empowering. Some argue that

Spartacus Corruption
Spartacus takes place during the first century BC, in the ancient roman empire. this empire has slid
into corruption and moral decay, extensively employing the work of slaves to carry out the lesser jobs
of society. these slaves are often mistreated, abused, exploited, and worked until death, as shown in
the opening scene where Spartacus s friend dies from work exhaustion. This opening scene takes place
in a Roman salt mine in the province of Libya, where a large group of slaves toil with pick and axe to
extract the precious mineral from the ground, and Roman soldiers guard, and abuse the slaves. the
commentary tells us of the hopelessness of the soldiers situation, and that the only freedom they can

One such women is Varinia who meets Spartacus one night, and instead of the performing the regular

Censorship of Howard Hawks’ Film, Scarface Essay
An Examination into Howard Hawks Film Scarface (1932), and Whether This Film Was Truly

censorship of Howard Hughes film Scarface (1932) while presenting the opinions of the proponents
and opponents of the practice of censorship in Scarface. Although Scarface (1932), was thought to be
a dangerous film during the 1930s, the film, in general, only portrayed the violence that already
existed in the society at that time. The film wasn t a clear and present danger to the public; therefore,
the film shouldn t have been censored. Changes that were made to the film at the behest of the Hays

Hollywood had every right to make films on controversial topics, but various censorship boards
thought otherwise, and these censorship boards felt that it was necessary to have community
restrictions on immoral topics of controversy such as adultery, prostitution and divorce. The question
was how censorship should be placed on films as well as to what extent in the way these controversial
topics were presented (Black 53).
Continuing the battle over screen content was not an easy task issues were intensified as United States
was facing the greatest economic decline in U.S. history caused by the Depression. As economic
conditions were declining, the film making technology was improving greatly, making more exciting
movies by turning silent cinema into sound movies (Black 53). Having this new technology allowed a
more realistic form of entertainment that was different to other forms of entertainment such as novels.
Consequently, these pictures became a great fascination to the public, offering a kind of cultural
escape valve to which audiences could explore serious controversial issues that were comparative to
the era that they were living in. Given that film producers were including contemporary controversial
issues in their film along with the new technology of sound movies became a great controversial
problem considering the morality of all audiences (women, men and children of all ages).

techniques for implementing accent modification, how effective these techniques are, how they are

Since one s intonation comes natural with their language and is not taught , it is helpful for those
trying to modify their accent to be able to visualize their own intonation patterns as opposed to
common intonation patterns of the accent they desire (Shoemaker, 1996). With the use of a specialized
module for a computerized speech laboratory (CSL) created by Dr. Agin with Kay Elemetrics Corp.,
Lincoln Park, NJ, differences in sentence intonation patterns among non native speakers can be
illustrated. One can speak into the system through a microphone and receive visual feedback regarding
their intonations as opposed to the standard intonations of the language (Shoemaker, 1996). This
visualization illustrates their pitch characteristics and intonation patterns, allowing the speaker to see
what changes they may need to make in pitch and intonation in order to further improve their accent.
Intonation is vital in languages at the sentence and conversation level in determining whether a
question is being asked or a statement is being made. For this reason, the computerized speech lab is
very beneficial to those learning to modify their accent among the non native population. As outlined
above, accent modification is a rapidly growing area in the field of speech language pathology, among
both regional and foreign accents.

Exposure Draft 2010 and Its Affects on Lease Accounting
Existing lease accounting standards require lessees to classify their lease contracts as either finance or
operating leases. If a lease is classified as a finance lease, assets (and liabilities) are recognized in its
statement of financial position. For an operating lease, the lessee simply recognizes lease payments as
an expense over the lease term. This split into finance and operating leases has given rise to a number
of problems.
The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board

converged standard, in an attempt to rectify the weaknesses in the current standard. Significantly

The accounting model Proposed[5]
The exposure draft proposes a new accounting model for leases in which:
(a) A lessee would recognize an asset (the right of use asset) representing its right to use an underlying
asset during the lease term, and a liability to make lease payments (paragraphs 10 and BC5 BC12).
The lessee would amortize the right of use asset over the expected lease term or the useful life of the
underlying asset if shorter. The lessee would incur interest expense on the liability to make lease
payments.
(b) A lessor would apply either a performance obligation approach or a derecognition approach to
account for the assets and liabilities arising from a lease, depending on whether the lessor retains
exposure to significant risks or benefits associated with the underlying asset during or after the
expected term of the lease (paragraphs 28, 29 and BC23−BC27).
The ED 2010/09 proposes a model in which a lessee would recognize a right of use asset representing
its right to use the underlying asset, and a liability representing its obligation to pay lease rentals over
the lease term. This includes lease contracts classified as operating leases under current requirements,
which would significantly affect many users who adjust the amounts presented in financial statements
to reflect assets and liabilities arising from operating

The Legal Position And Right Of Residents
3.3B SECURITY OF TENURE
The legal position and right of residents in different tenures vary considerably. Both owner occupiers
and social renters have significant legal rights that are not usually available to tenants in the PRS
(Tenure Trends in the UK Housing System, 2010).
As mentioned previously, at about the start of the 20th century during the First World War, rent
controls were put in place to limit the initial rent that a landlord could charge as well as any
subsequent increase in response to housing shortages. The Rents Act 1915 was passed to provide
security of tenure and to restrict rents in the PRS and remained in play for most of the 20th century.
The rent acts contributed as a significant interference with the property ... Show more content on

Though around the middle of the 20th century where security of tenure was still strong in the PRS,
there were scurrilous landlords that would evict tenants unlawfully, a prime example being Peter
Rachman, he was known for his exploitation and intimidation of his tenants. In response to the
Rachman scandal the Eviction Act 1964 was passed in an attempt to deal with similar problems.
The PRS underwent a mini revival during the 1990s due to a combinations of factors, such as changes
to tenancy arrangement in the 1988 and 1996 Housing acts, the availability of housing benefits and the
state of home owning market (Stuart Lowe, 2004).
With the introduction of the Assured Short hold Tenancy (AST) in the Housing Act 1988, granted the
landlord the right to guaranteed possession after the initial six month period, in other words giving
landlords stronger rights. The Housing Act 1996 furthered strengthened a landlord s position by
making AST the default tenancy except expressed. The Act defines several criteria for an AST to be
set up e.g. the property must be set as separate accommodation, the property must be the tenant s main
home, the tenant should be an individual, thus there are uncertainties that the AST s lack of security
creates long term problems for tenants. Therefore a landlord may choose to evict the

Early Experience Research Paper
The Importance of Early Experiences Freud illustrated the importance of early experience in

individual energy is concentrates on a part of the body that specific toward that stage. When the

But, if there seems to be a struggle or having a conflict experience then the person becomes stuck on
that stage. This outcome can come in certain way for the being or some personality traits that is

Interpersonal Conflict As A Stressful Conflicts In The...
Conflict is a complex behavior. It can occur on various levels as intrapersonal, interpersonal,
intragroup, or intergroup. Intrapersonal conflicts occur within the person, whereas interpersonal
conflict takes place between people. Likewise, intragroup conflict happens within one group of people
and intergroup conflict occurs between two or more groups of people.
Managing conflict in the workplace is a time consuming but necessary task for the physician leader.
Conflicts may exist between physicians, between physicians and staff, and between the staff or the
health care team and the patient or patient s family. The conflicts may range from disagreements to
major controversies that may lead to litigation or violence. Conflicts have an adverse effect on
productivity, morale, and patient care. They may result in high employee turnover and certainly limit
staff contributions and impede efficiency. Effects:
The dysfunctional physician presents an insidious cost to any practice or health care organization. He
or she increases the stress in the work environment and the accompanying loss of efficiency. In a
stressful workplace, such as the operating room with a berating physician, morale and team spirit
suffer, which results in an increased turnover of staff and a dysfunctional team. Once this stage is
reached, various negative factors begin to interplay. Communication is poor, and staff withholds
information because of fear of an outburst. The information withheld may be vital for

I use to be a tomboy. I never brushed my hair, I didn t like to take baths, and in all honesty, I just

In the book by Rodman Philbrick, Freak the Mighty , and the movie, The Mighty , starring Kieran

and the movie are both about two boy s friendship and adventures together. Some of the differences
are like Kevin s death, the ornithopter being flown at the end into the medieval ages with King Arthur

Freak (Kevin) dies in the hospital. During the morning, when Kevin or Freak, is dead with his mom

mathematics, was recently ranked among the lowest in the 2013 World Economic Forum Global

in many countries within Sub Saharan Africa. This is because teacher salaries have not kept up with
the high inflation rates in these countries, leaving the best teachers to search for better jobs or
emigrate. This then results in less prepared students and by the time they reach grade twelve, the
failure rate has increased to 50 percent. The reason for the high failure rate is most African students

Leaders Intellect
Be, Know and Do, these three words are known by all NCOs in the Army, they represent the
characteristics of an effective leader. From these three words also come the three leader`s attribute of
character, present and intellect. As a leader I possess all three but intellect is my strongest attribute. A
leader with intellectual capacity possess mental agility, sound judgement, innovation, interpersonal
tact and domain knowledge according to the Leadership Requirements Model in ADP 6 22. All these 5

The definition of sound judgment is the capacity to assess situations or circumstances shrewdly and to
draw sound conclusions (Definitions.net). Sound judgment enables the best decision for the situation
at hand. It is a key attribute of the transformation of knowledge into understanding and quality
execution (ADP 6 22, August 2012). For me having sound judgment is been able to sort the important
thing from the trivial ones. Been a leader put you in the position of making judgment calls that affects
others for example, the time you want the Soldiers to form up to the recommendation of a possible
career ending Article 15. I try all the time to be fair and impartial when analyzing a situation and make

It is said that the human population will reach eleven billion by the year 2100. We are quickly
becoming overpopulated and with creating human clones, we will surely reach that number much
sooner, making our population far much worse than it already is. Cloning would be a definite aid to
overpopulation. Overpopulation is a problem because it causes us to exhaust our natural resources.
With more lifeforms being created we would all require the same, if not more, nutrients. As a
civilization now, we are currently running thin on basic needs such as food, water, and oil. Clones
would be competing with humans for natural resources and the rate of consumption will not keep up
with rate of production. Overpopulation would lead to the cease of human existence by diminishing
the valuable natural resources we require to survive.

For ethical reasons all our results and conclusions will be based on statistics without revealing who
among those we tested is affected or not affected to the public. From the adoption study we expect
Schizophrenia to be more in biological relatives of schizophrenic adoptees than in those of control
adoptees. It will also be of great interest to us to observe if the risk of the adopted away children to
develop Schizophrenia increases if both genetic parents are schizophrenics compared to if only one of
the genetic parents is schizophrenic. Some of the genes may appear to be associated with the disorder
in some ethnic groups and not in others, which would make it difficult to for us to say that a specific
gene is associated with Schizophrenia in general population. This may be because predisposition for
Schizophrenia is created by different combination and/or of genes in different populations interacting
with certain environmental factors. As association studies always follow linkage studies which
identify possible genomic regions or even specific candidate genes which contribute to the
development of a genetically influenced disorder. Results from linkage studies depend on a variety of
factors, including the presumption of the mode of inheritance, the involvement of genes whose effects
are large enough to detect and the extent to which family members are diagnosed accurately as either
affected or unaffected with a disorder in the schizophrenia spectrum. Since all of these factors are
problematic, it is will not be suprising that results from linkage studies are less conclusive and have

How Architecture Can Be Applied to Plato s Definition of...
This essay will be demonstrating how architecture can be applied to Plato s definition of the ideal
person as Kalo k agatho. This essay will be examining the Temple of Zeus at Olympia, the Parthenon,
the Erechtheion and the Temple to Apollo at Bassae. The first monument this essay will be discussing
is the Temple to Zeus at Olympia. The Temple to Zeus was constructed between C. 470 to 450 BCE,
having this temple belong to the Early Classical Period. The Temple of Zeus had the typical features
of the Doric Order, a perisytle, with a rule that the number of columns on the sides should be one more
than double on the front and back (thus the perisytle is 6 X 13), a pronaos, a cella and an opithodomos.
The two columns between the anta in the pronaos and the opithodomos align with the columns along
the front and back of the temple. The temple was constructed in limestone as well as marble for the
roof tiles and the sculptures. Over the entrances of the pronaos and opisthodomos, there were metopes
of the 12 labours of Herakles, athla 1 6 over the opithodomos (west) and athla 7 12 over the cella
(East). One of the main features that this temple is good to look at is because of the pediments. The
west pediment depicts the Battle of Lapiths and Centaurs, while the east pediment depictions the horse
race of Pelops and Oinomaos. As this is the Temple to Zeus, the figure of Zeus as in the center of the
East Pediment, whiles Apollo was the center figure for the west pediment. The

legend, the history, and the personal memory. The pattern, however, never makes it simple for the
readers to understand the novel. Rather, it confuses and bothers the readers by placing them where the

The Contribution To The Rise Of Capitalism In Medieval Europe
Feudalism is a system of social order that was dominate in what was medieval Europe. With this
social order, it provoked authority over its inhabitants. Nobility was in direct control of land masses
from the crown. What was given back was the loyalty to serve the military when needed. Vassals were
tenants of nobles, and peasants were to live on the land. Give what they produce as taxes for military
protection. This act of social order was used from about 300 to 1400 AD. Capitalism, at this stage, was
just beginning to develop and become something meaningful to the continent. There was a lot wrong
with Feudalism at that time, just like everything has their pros and cons, but feudalism had collapsed
and made way to the concept of Capitalism. These are shown in many factors and the contributions to

forces that shaped medieval societies to change.

Food obviously played a significant role in the Civil War. Without the basic necessities of food and

Since one s intonation comes natural with their language and is not taught , it is helpful for those trying to modify their accent to be able to visualize their own intonation patterns as opposed to common intonation patterns of the accent they desire (Shoemaker, 1996). With the use of a specialized module for a computerized speech laboratory (CSL) created by Dr. Agin with Kay Elemetrics Corp., Lincoln Park, NJ, differences in sentence intonation patterns among non native speakers can be illustrated. One can speak into the system through a microphone and receive visual feedback regarding their intonations as opposed to the standard intonations of the language (Shoemaker, 1996). This visualization illustrates their pitch characteristics and intonation patterns, allowing the speaker to see what changes they may need to make in pitch and intonation in order to further improve their accent. If a lease is classified as a finance lease, assets (and liabilities) are recognized in its statement of financial position. For an operating lease, the lessee simply recognizes lease payments as an expense over the lease term. This split into finance and operating leases has given rise to a number of problems. The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) has recently issued a combined exposure draft on Leases (ED 2010/09) resulting in a converged standard, in an attempt to rectify the weaknesses in the current standard. The lessee would amortize the right of use asset over the expected lease term or the useful life of the underlying asset if shorter. The lessee would incur interest expense on the liability to make lease payments. (b) A lessor would apply either a performance obligation approach or a derecognition approach to account for the assets and liabilities arising from a lease, depending on whether the lessor retains exposure to significant risks or benefits associated with the underlying asset during or after the expected term of the lease (paragraphs 28, 29 and BC23−BC27). The ED 2010/09 proposes a model in which a lessee would recognize a right of use asset representing its right to use the underlying asset, and a liability representing its obligation to pay lease rentals over the lease term. In response to the Rachman scandal the Eviction Act 1964 was passed in an attempt to deal with similar problems. The PRS underwent a mini revival during the 1990s due to a combinations of factors, such as changes to tenancy arrangement in the 1988 and 1996 Housing acts, the availability of housing benefits and the state of home owning market (Stuart Lowe, 2004). With the introduction of the Assured Short hold Tenancy (AST) in the Housing Act 1988, granted the landlord the right to guaranteed possession after the initial six month period, in other words giving landlords stronger rights. Intrapersonal conflicts occur within the person, whereas interpersonal conflict takes place between people. Likewise, intragroup conflict happens within one group of people and intergroup conflict occurs between two or more groups of people. Managing conflict in the workplace is a time consuming but necessary task for the physician leader. Conflicts may exist between physicians, between physicians and staff, and between the staff or the health care team and the patient or patient s family. The conflicts may range from disagreements to major controversies that may lead to litigation or violence. Conflicts have an adverse effect on productivity, morale, and patient care. They may result in high employee turnover and certainly limit staff contributions and impede efficiency. Effects: The dysfunctional physician presents an insidious cost to any practice or health care organization. He or she increases the stress in the work environment and the accompanying loss of efficiency. Freak The Mighty Comparison In the book by Rodman Philbrick, Freak the Mighty , and the movie, The Mighty , starring Kieran Culkin (as Kevin) and Elden Henson (as Max), there are many differences between the two. The book and the movie are both about two boy s friendship and adventures together. Some of the differences are like Kevin s death, the ornithopter being flown at the end into the medieval ages with King Arthur s knights, and the empty book. We are quickly becoming overpopulated and with creating human clones, we will surely reach that number much sooner, making our population far much worse than it already is. With more lifeforms being created we would all require the same, if not more, nutrients. As a civilization now, we are currently running thin on basic needs such as food, water, and oil. It will also be of great interest to us to observe if the risk of the adopted away children to develop Schizophrenia increases if both genetic parents are schizophrenics compared to if only one of the genetic parents is schizophrenic. Some of the genes may appear to be associated with the disorder in some ethnic groups and not in others, which would make it difficult to for us to say that a specific gene is associated with Schizophrenia in general population. This essay will be examining the Temple of Zeus at Olympia, the Parthenon, the Erechtheion and the Temple to Apollo at Bassae. The first monument this essay will be discussing is the Temple to Zeus at Olympia. The Temple to Zeus was constructed between C. 470 to 450 BCE, having this temple belong to the Early Classical Period. The Temple of Zeus had the typical features of the Doric Order, a perisytle, with a rule that the number of columns on the sides should be one more than double on the front and back (thus the perisytle is 6 X 13), a pronaos, a cella and an opithodomos. The two columns between the anta in the pronaos and the opithodomos align with the columns along the front and back of the temple. The temple was constructed in limestone as well as marble for the roof tiles and the sculptures. Over the entrances of the pronaos and opisthodomos, there were metopes of the 12 labours of Herakles, athla 1 6 over the opithodomos (west) and athla 7 12 over the cella (East). One of the main features that this temple is good to look at is because of the pediments. The west pediment depicts the Battle of Lapiths and Centaurs, while the east pediment depictions the horse race of Pelops and Oinomaos.
