Characteristics Of Rhodesian Ridgebacks
Rhodesian Ridgebacks are dogs that were originated in South Africa, Rhodesia, and Zimbabwe. They
are known as African Lion Hounds, they are also natural born hunters. These Lion Hounds are kind,
strong dogs with ridges on their back. Ridgebacks are great protectors, kind with children, and kind to
many other animals. Rhodesian Ridgebacks will not really bark unnecessarily. Also this breed knows
to be aggressive toward strangers and unfamiliar animals. These dogs are large dogs. Rhodesian
Ridgebacks are lion hounds so they can keep lions at bay. It sounds impossible but it is not ability to
keep a lion at bay while awaiting its master s arrival to make the kill. These dogs are very powerful
dogs as you can see. The are very intelligent too.
Rhodesian Ridgebacks are large dogs just like German Shepherds they both have a similar pattern in
growth. Both dogs grow to be nearly 2 feet long. They both require dry food, and exercise. Since both
dogs both growth pattern are nearly the same they both will be easy to maintain. But as you know
their will always be differences in different dog breeds. First, the German Shepherd sheds more than
the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Secondly, they are easier to train ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Nationalism In Canada
Nationalism should be accepted in the way that the source portrayed it. That Canada took the land

Second Lines in New Orleans
On the morning of August 29, 2005 was one of the deadliest hurricanes in the United States, known as
Hurricane Katrina struck the south coast of New Orleans, leaving thousands of African American
whom lived in Treme homeless, missing and hundreds dead. Way before the hurricane Treme, which
is one of the oldest African American neighborhoods in New Orleans. The city of New Orleans is
officially divided into 73 neighborhoods grouped into 13 planning districts. Among these, the 4th
district is of interest because of its central location, cultural history, and socio economic challenges
confronted prior to the catastrophe (Barrios, 2). The reason why the 4th district was so ... Show more

These cultural things are beginning to change. People that have been here a short time, and I mean
twenty years is a short time, twenty years or less. They want the second lines to clean up after
themselves... Growing up in Treme, you had a bar, a church, and a funeral home, so you knew where
your family was (Barrios, 14). Cheryl Austin caused much commotion with his comments and sparked
attention with Pierre Bourdieu, who describes her as recently, arrived outsiders. For me, if you did not
grow up here, you cannot appreciate living here. People who think like that, people who want Treme
transformed, could go anywhere and dismantle what was there and build what they wanted. For
outsiders, the most important thing here is the building. For us, it is our culture, for us, that is, what we
consider community, not the buildings (Barrios, 15). Both Austin and Bourdieu make two completely
point about the way they view their culture difference of Treme. To my knowledge what Austin was
trying to interpret his view is that when he grew up in Treme, it was all about being free and being
comfortable around your own neighborhood, which I absolutely agree with. I wouldn t want to live in
a neighborhood where I couldn t feel free to do what I want to do, like sitting on the privacy of my
own home and drinking a beer without being judge and that what the

Dr. Bernard, Canada s Nine Non Partisan Senators
Introduction In October 2016, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau named Nova Scotia s Wanda Thomas
Bernard as one of Canada s nine non partisan senators (Williams, 2016). According to Semansky
(2016), Dr. Bernard, who serves as the university s special advisor, diversity and inclusiveness, [is] the
first African Nova Scotian woman to serve in the Senate Chamber (para. 2). In response to the news,
Bernard has stated that equity for all is [her] primary goal in life. To be able to enter the Senate with
that perspective and contribute to the country is an incredible privilege, one that [she] knows [she] will
be accountable for (Semansky, 2016, para. 7). While Trudeau has named diversity as a priority within
the Canadian Parliament, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this section, I will briefly discuss the effects of Trudeau s Senate reforms and argue that reform is
better than abolishment. Trudeau s three phased Senate reforms give minority group leaders an
opportunity to represent their communities. The reforms attempt to shift the focus from gaining
support for the Liberal party, to a collection of different and diverse minds within the Senate. The first
phase of the reforms focused on the [removal of] all senators from the national Liberal caucus , which
inherently suggested that senators [no longer] have formal or organic ties with the Liberal caucus, nor
do they have any organizational, financial or other formal responsibilities within the Liberal Party
(Dion, 2015, para. 5). Going from there, the [creation of] a new, nonpartisan, merit based, broad and
diverse process to advise the prime minister on Senate appointments was the second item on the
agenda (Dion, 2015, para. 6). Finally, the third phase targeted the inclusion of marginalized groups,
such as women and minorities, in the Senate (Dion, 2015). Therefore, Trudeau s appointments are
changing the direction of the Senate to include historically oppressed minorities and their
representatives. That being stated, one particular argument that has been raised in opposition to Senate
reforms is that the upper house is no longer relevant and should be abolished (Maclean s, 2013). The
website suggests that

Hmong In America
On the other hand, the U.S. Hmong community has experienced a drastically different history,
resulting in a socioeconomic status well below the Asian American averages. Hmong Americans
arrived in the United States as political refugees escaping communist forces in Laos, Vietnam, and
Thailand. During North Vietnam s invasion of Laos, the U.S. CIA began recruiting and training
indigenous Hmong men to fight in General Pao s Secret Army. 60% of Hmong men in Laos received
financial assistance from the CIA in exchange for their service. After the takeover of pro U.S.
governments in South Vietnam and Laos, Hmong soldiers escaped to Thailand where they were forced
into refugee camps. The first wave of Hmong who arrived in the U.S. in 1975 were primarily ... Show

Hmong report below average English proficiency, educational attainment, and household income. Due
to the model minority argument, Hmong and other struggling Asian American subgroups don t receive
substantial government assistance despite their alarming statistics. In their native countries, Hmong
lived in isolated, rural regions with little traditional schooling functioning primarily as farmers. As a
result of the Hmong coming to the U.S. as refugees as opposed to immigrants, they didn t undergo the
same self selection process which favors educated and wealthy professionals. Because the majority of
Hmong came to the U.S. for survival rather than economic gain they were unprepared socially and
economically for life in the U.S. In 2015, 60% of the foreign born Hmong population reported their
level of education as high school or less. Additionally, only 40% of the foreign born Hmong
population reported being proficient in English. These statistics indicate that a large portion of Hmong
refugees arrived in the U.S. with minimal education and spoke little English making assimilation even
more difficult. Hmong Americans report a median household income of $48,000 while the U.S.
average is $57,000. This statistic is particularly troubling because although Hmong are only slightly
behind the U.S. average 32% of them live in multigenerational households and average greater than
six individuals per household. However, life is improving for Hmong Americans notably

Persuasive Essay On Male Circumcision
In September of 1997, it became illegal in the united states to perform circumcisions on females
(Horowitz, 1997). However, to this day there is still a gender based human rights violation that has not
been protected by law. Male infants often undergo genital surgery that is not medically necessary.
Male circumcision is the only non therapeutic surgery performed on minors as an attempt to prevent
disease. It is my hope that one day, all newborns will be protected from having their genitals altered,
unless medically necessary. Many people become outraged at the thought of females being
circumcised, but are okay with circumcising males. The double standard in America is astonishing.
While other developed countries are trying to out this barbaric procedure and recommending parents
leave their babies intact, the U.S is still promoting this outdated and unnecessary surgery. There are no
medical organizations in the world that recommend routinely circumcising all infant males. The
Canadian pediatric society states The CPS does not recommend the routine circumcision of every
newborn male (Canadian paediatric). The Royal Australasian College of Physicians state: After
reviewing the currently available evidence, the RACP believes that the frequency of diseases
modifiable by circumcision, the level of protection offered by circumcision and the complication rates
of circumcision do not warrant routine infant circumcision in Australia and New Zealand. () There is
currently no

Relationship Rules And Family Rules
Relationship Rules Theory
Interpersonal relationships are an essential part of everyone s life, like many other aspects of life.
Relationships are also bound by rules in order for these to succeed. However these rules vary
depending on the type of relationship a person has. Relationship rules theory is oriented to make
several aspects of relationships more clear. These rules help identify behaviors that can be either
destructive or successful in a relationship. Additionally, Relationship Rules help to single out more
specific reasons as why relationships end and what can be a solution to repair them. There are four
different types of relationship rules and those are friendship rules, romantic rules, family rules and
workplace rules. Each of these relationship rules has different functions and these rules cannot be
broken in order for a relationship to stay healthy.
Friendship Rules Friendship is a word that envelops powerful meanings that everyone should not take
for granted. Those meanings can be trust on others, love, support, care for others, compassion, and/or
loyalty. People give those meanings different levels depending on the type of friends they have and
how worth it those friends are. It is true that friends can be considered part of our own family and they
have to be loved and respected as such. Good friends are people that can be trustworthy and
understand the meaning of the word friendship.
There are rules in friendships that people need to

By utilizing a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, individuals and
corporations alike can determine where their weak spots are and attempt to correct them prior to the

within the systems. These risks include database corruption, spyware, and hacking.
Database Corruption
Database corruption is one potential safety concern for the Benefits Election System. Database
corruption comes in several forms including viruses and worms. Viruses act as a real program that is
installed on the computer or network and every time the program is accessed the virus spreads to other
programs until the system and/or computer essentially crashes. On the other hand, worms attack the
security holes within a network. Like viruses, worms attach themselves to holes within the security of
the network. Once worms have attached to the network the worm then scans for other networks with
holes to replicate. This kind of corruption to the system can lead to loss and damage of information on
the system. Anti corruption software is readily available in today s market which reduces

Rainforests Have Been Declining Rapidly over the Last Few...
Rainforests have been declining rapidly over the last few decades. There are various factors
responsible for this decline, resulting in serious impacts on the environment and the economy.
Critically discuss the causes of deforestation and solutions to it. Deforestation is the cutting down of a
large area of trees and the destruction of forests by people. Forests are what we call an exhaustible
resource, one which can be used up if it is not used carefully. Over the last few decades, deforestation
has threatened the rainforests with total extinction. To understand why deforestation is such an
important issue, you first have to understand why trees matter. Trees improve in many ways the life of
all species, including the human race. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his concept, Adam Smith explains that in a free market no regulation of any type would be needed
to ensure that the mutually beneficial exchange of goods and services can take place, since the
invisible hand would guide market participants to trade in the most mutually beneficial manner.
Many private agents, according to these studies, have no interest in maintaining the forest s beauty and
biodiversity, as services provided by forests are benefits that cannot be priced, so are not profit
making.
Another factor precipitating deforestation appears to be poverty. Commonly held views argue that
high discount rates received by poor countries are a cause of deforestation (The World Bank Forestry
Policy 1991, Pearce and Watford 1993.). Because forests imply long gestation; private agents,
particularly from the poorest countries, value what they can get immediately from forests more than
what they can get in the future. But in 1999, Ekbom and Bojo challenged those views in a World Bank
examination by showing that poverty does not necessarily lead to shorter time horizons and an
increased rate of environmental degradation. They show how in fact the rural poor have used
resources in a conservationist manner over a long period spanning centuries. Ostrom (1990), one of
the various analysts they quoted, established a number of conditions that would lead to long term use
of common resources despite their short time

The Conflict Of Police Brutality Essay
We, as humans, come into conflict on a daily basis at all times of the day. We encounter conflict on all
levels in our home lives, social lives, entertainment and careers. Conflict is also brought to our
attention second and third handedly through word of mouth and the mass media and the internet.
Personally, locally, nationally, and globally conflict and problems surround us. Instead of addressing
personalized conflicts, I would like to attempt to provide critical analysis on a crucial social issue
facing the United States. This issue is police brutality, especially against minority, particularly black
Americans. I will attempt to do this with the root cause tool of critical analysis and problem solving.
The conflict of police brutality has made national and international news. It has also sparked a new
social movement. While police brutality is not limited to minorities, the rate that it used against
African American individuals is alarming. To further the problem, no perpetrator has been brought to
justice and the victims and their families are left behind or blamed. I will be using Root Cause
Analysis model of critical analysis. This strategy consists of five steps. They include:
Define the Problem
Collect Data
Identify Possible Casual Factors
Identify the Root Cause(s)
Recommend and Implement Solutions

The Current Educational Reform Of Continuous Improvement

The Great Gatsby Setting Analysis
Setting reveals the perspective of a Narrator. A narrator s perspective can be based on gender, social
status, culture, and especially experience. In the book, The Great Gatsby, the author Francis Scott
Fitzgerald, described a place of dispirited contents. The impact of the setting of The Valley of Ashes in
The Great Gatsby is affecting the characters. It makes the characters determined to achieve more. The
setting creates a gloomy and depressing tone. Word choice helps emphasize the impact of the setting.
To begin with, The Valley of Ashes affects the characters in The Great Gatsby in a purposeful way. No
one really wants to experience the life in The Valley of Ashes; so many of the characters strive to be
more. For example, Myrtle actually lives in this bleak city, but she is determined to make it out. In the
Text it says, She smiled slowly and, walking through her husband as if he were a ghost, shook hands
with Tom, looking him flush in the eye (22). Myrtle knows Tom is wealthy and live in ... Show more

For example the phrases, grotesque gardens, and unprosperous and bare impacts the description (20
21). Grotesque means ugly or distorted, using the word ugly would make it seem not as disturbing.
The word unprosperous strictly implies that places in The Valley of Ashes are run down and are not
successful. When describing work in this environment Nick says, ...of men who move dimly and
already crumbling through the powdery air (20). This implies that the men were over worked, but
word choice emphasizes how men were such over worked that their lives were basically declining,
because of the work environment of powdery (polluted) air.
In conclusion, the setting of The Valley of Ashes impacts the characters, tone, and word choice in The
Great Gatsby. Such a desolate landscape affects all aspects in The Great Gatsby. This setting makes

International and Global Marketing
Introduction:
Introducing a new product or service into a foreign market is a significant business achievement. As a
matter of fact, there are a few things that companies have to face when it comes to globalization. This
essay will deal with luxury products, and more particularly with high end jewellery from the French
brand Cartier. These products will be launched within the Chinese market, as it is close to become the
largest luxury market in the world. In order to make this project as successful as possible, this essay
will be divided into two parts. On the one hand, we will be analysing the marketing environment of
the Chinese market by identifying major market opportunities. Also, the selection of a suitable target

Thus, many Chinese parents have a desire to protect their children from the suffering they encountered
. They see their child as a second chance to live a happiness which they themselves had not
experienced (Croll, 1985). Nowadays, these only children came to adopt the nickname Little
Emperors because of the large portion of time and money their parents devote to them. Families
provide their children with a first world lifestyle and spend a lot of money in luxury products; they
need to have the best things to succeed. Young Chinese consumers are then seen as a big opportunity
for many global marketers. The one child policy created a large middle class with a large amount of
disposable income that would never have been possible to obtain if these couples had bore multiple
children.
Booming / Expanding market Great demand for luxury goods. Many marketers look at China as their
favourite bright spot and this is particularly true for luxury brands. By 2015, China will be home to the
world s fourth largest population of wealthy households and will become the world largest market for
high end goods. Like Japan 20 years ago, the people in China are exposed to a massive amount of high
end goods and services through the Internet, by overseas travel, and from first hand experience.

Birth Defects Discrimination
The stigma and discrimination of living with severe birth defects
Birth defects are health problems that occurs when a baby is developing in uterus (in the womb) of an
individual (Healthline Editorial Team, 2017). This defect may be caused by genetic disorders,
problems with chromosomes, or environmental factors; disorders such as mandibulo facial dysostosis,
cleft palate and spina bifida. The lives of people with severe birth defects conditions are often
contributed by stigma as well as discrimination. Stigma is a major cause of discrimination which leads
to rejections, being scorned and gossip at; isolated socially, bullied; and even labelled. The book,
Palacio, R.J Wonder, 2012 demonstrated the story of a boy named August or Auggie Pullman, a ten
year old boy living in Manhattan who was born with severe birth defects (mandibulo facial dysostosis
and a cleft palate) which left him severely disfigured. It was difficult for him to make friends. He lives
with his parents, his older sister Via; and his dog Daisy. August was homeschooled up until the fifth
grade but his parents decided it was time for him attend a real school. They enrolled him in Beecher
Prep, a neighborhood private school. There August (Auggie) was faced with many obstacles during
the school year because of his appearance. He dealt with many stigma and discrimination from both
students and parents.

Β Galactosidase Lab Report
Enzymes play a remarkably important role in biological systems. Nearly all reactions in living
organisms are catalyzed by enzymes, a large majority of which have been found to be proteins. The
mechanisms by which enzymes function are varied, but all mechanisms lower the transition state free
energy where the free energy barrier of a reaction is the highest. Thus, an enzymatically catalyzed
reaction proceeds at a significantly increased rate than that of an unanalyzed reaction. Even though the
mechanism of enzymes can be reduced to such a basic idea, it is important to note that enzymes are
incredibly versatile and achieve catalysis through several mechanisms. The mechanisms are identical
to those of chemical catalysts, and thus comes forth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Michaelis Menten model, two important kinetic properties of enzymes are related. These

While the Michaelis Menten model is very useful in determining the kinetics of enzymes, but there are
certain limitations to this method of investigating enzyme kinetics. The full analysis of the Michaelis

Public School Choice Essay
Public School Choice
Public School Choice is an easy program to understand and it contains many advantages but also
many disadvantages. Public School Choice is when parents can elect to send their children out of a
school that has not made adequate yearly progress for two consecutive years into a school that has
made progress. (McClure, 2002) If there are no available schools within the original school district,
then a family can choose to send their children to another district. This only happens when the other
schools in the original district are all labeled as underachieving schools and have not made the
adequate yearly progress. (McClure, 2002)

Official from Milwaukee school and local policy groups, where public school choice has been an
option, confirmed what most observers have assumed: that having options with in the public school
system is intensely popular with parents (Van Dunk, 2003) Some people do not believe there can be
such a thing as public school choice. For it to be actual school choice and in order for it to succeed it
has to include private schools. (Jeynes, 2000) These are just a few facts and some issues that are
controversial around the Public School Choice option.
School Vouchers
School Vouchers are another popular form of school choice. Vouchers are scholarships that let students
attend a school of their parent s choice. The vouchers are given out to low income parents who are
below the 175% poverty line. A voucher can be used a private school. Schools redeem the vouchers
given to them by students, and in return receive government funding. Publicly funded vouchers have
been used for decades in New Hampshire, and Maine, also in the two cities: Cleveland, Ohio and
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. (Ellig, 1999) Harvard economist Caroline M. Hoxby investigated the impact
of vouchers on public schools in Milwaukee. Her peer reviewed conclusion: Overall, an evaluation of
Milwaukee suggests that public schools have a strong, positive response to competition

The Man And Legend Essay
Can We Attain an Equal America? ;
Can we really achieve equality? I do believe it is possible but it is obvious that there is no single
answer to such a question. Everyone has their own opinion in regards to this question, however those
opinions are useless unless they are actually carried out. According to W.E.B. DuBois racial equality
can be achieved through the talented tenth, ; an African American elite that would be leaders and role
models for the rest of the black community. In The Future of the Race, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and
Cornel West address the topic of Dubois 1903 essay The Talented Tenth. ; When it comes to achieving

Malcolm X declares that if it is right for America to draft us and teach us how to be violent in defense
of the country, then isn t right for you and me to do whatever is necessary to defend our own people
right here in this country. ;(89) Consequently, he believed that only through revolution and force could
blacks attain their rightful place in society. In one of his speeches Malcolm X encouraged blacks to
hate whites and to revolt against them. He claims that revolution is bloody, revolution is hostile,
revolution knows no compromise, revolution overturns and destroys everything that gets in it way. ;
However, when he later broke free from the black Muslim movement began emphasizing unity and
change through black pride and respect for oneself rather than through hate and revenge. He told
blacks that if they had any chance of blacks attaining equality, then their first priority would be to gain
self respect and join together in a group effort to combat racist views. (253)
I believe that there is one main problem that hinders the idea of having a group effort to achieve
equality. That is that our minds seem to support and defend our own reasoning and actions, whether
they are right or wrong. We have to learn how to admit being wrong. I simply can t believe that people
find racism as a way of life. However, it all comes down to what you learn when you re a child.

Mary Meeker Biography Essay
Born in the early 1920 s, Mary Meeker s father saw great potential in his creative little girl. He vowed
to make sure she got to college, something which he had been unable to do. He fancied himself a
business man, so the family moved from place to place as he looked for the elusive perfect
opportunity. Every new school brought another Intelligence Test and eventually Mary skipped a grade.
Mary s sister who was learning disabled was often mistreated by the Nuns at one of the schools,
causing Mary to turn away from her religion. Her mother did not see her talent or creativity and was
often mean and abusive toward her children. As a result of these events, and recognizing that she and
her sister were at different ends of a spectrum, Mary vowed to advocate for the development of
diverse intellectual abilities. Educationally, Mary more than fulfilled her father s hopes as she gained a
Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science, a Doctorate in Educational Psychology and continued with
post graduate studies.
In a desperate need for teachers, California offered provisional teaching certificates to those with a
related degree, and Mary accepted. She was immediately assigned to students with severe
developmental delays. She didn t know how to teach them and there were no resources to draw upon.
Eventually she motivated the children s creativity by dancing and singing for much of the school year.
When Mary was re assigned, she got a Special Education Class and found that it had a

Analysis Of Wood Lab
In our density of wood lab, we were interested in learning more about densities of wood, how to
measure density, the difference between softwoods and hardwoods, and how density and strength are
related. In this lab, we utilized 10 different samples of wood blocks. By measuring each sample s
Volume (Length x Width x Height) and mass, we were able to determine each sample s density (Mass

By measuring the sample s density and then determining what the sample was, we were able to
observe the differences in the wood including color, grain, texture, and weight and its effects on the
density of wood. Additionally, this lab gave us a better understanding of why it is important to
understand wood density. When building a home or another woodworking project you want to be
aware of the type of wood you are using and its density. If you are building a home or a piece of
furniture you are going to need a wood that is strong and will last. Therefore, you will know you will
need a dense wood like oak. But if you are creating a decorative, lightweight art piece you may want a
less dense wood like Lati. It was interesting to see in this lab, that even though some samples were
larger in size than other they still weighed less than the smaller, denser wood samples. This shows that
even though you may have the right size wood, it may not be the correct density to complete the

Stereotypes In The Searchers Movie
The Searchers (1956) directed by John Ford is a Western movie following the life of Ethan Edwards
as he searches for his niece, Debby, who was captured by a Comanche tribe. In this film, there is a
scene (1:13:42 1:15:50) which shows Ethan and Marty going into a US Cavalry fort to see if the
Cavalry officers have Debby or not. When Ethan and Marty go into the fort, they see a white woman
on the floor, screaming and rocking around, and two girls sitting dumbly. Then Ethan and Marty
decide that Debby is not there and leave.
In this scene, diegetic sound, sound that can be heard by the actors, is a prominent element. Dialogue
is heard in this scene, and is exchanged by a few of the characters (Ethan, Marty, Officers and the lady

In the time this film was made, the dying days of the classic Western, Native Americans were being
portrayed as the savage side less and less. (ref: http://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/great movie the
searchers 1956). The director, John Ford, believed that hatred of Native Americans was wrong, but the
message in this scene of the film contradicts his beliefs. However this does not mean John Ford was
racist, it simply shows the ideas that were common in society in the time this film was made. John
Ford used the characters Ethan and the US Cavarly officers to embody the ideas of society in the 1950
s. Later in the film, the prejudice against Native Americans reduces in Ethan s character. At the time of
this scene, he hates Native Americans with no exceptions. However near the end of the movie he
becomes more tolerant of Native Americans, for example when he brought Debby home safely instead
of killing her. As killing Debby would ve put Ethan into bad light, the decision of him not killing her
brings an anti racism message, which was something that John Ford believed in. This helps highlight
change of character in Ethan. It shows that people should look past race and skin colour when making
decisions about and loving people. In comparison to the racist message in

British realized that during the war the income from the colonies was insufficient (document F). After

The Network Structure Is Called Learning Beyond
Organization Description
The organization we will be working for to organize and implement their network structure is called
Learning Beyond. It is a small educational program that students can attend after school in place of the
after school child care. It provides a fun educational environment for students who are in need of
additional tutoring in certain subjects, or who wish to expand their knowledge beyond the school day.
As of right now, it is fairly small, but we would like room for additional growth as the program gains
popularity. The basic requirements are two main instructor computers, 10 student laptops, and one
wireless printer. Internet access will be needed for each of these computers as well. An additional
building will later be provided at an alternate location that will need to be connected to this main
network. A Juniper Router will be needed, since the operating system the computers will be running
will be JUNOS. We will configure the network to be run on the IPv6 addressing system, to prevent the
need of reconfiguration when the mass crossover to IPv6 occurs. The network needs to be configured
to add any additional devices that will be needed in the future as the program grows.
Configuring IPv6 on a Juniper router A router on the network will provide the ability to connect
multiple local area networks (LAN) together in order for them to communicate. In this case, we will
be using a Juniper router to accommodate the JUNOS operation system.

Self defense is a general right to defend oneself against the use of unlawful force. One may defend
oneself with deadly force only if the attacker threatens him with serious bodily harm.
Doug will contend that Tom threatened to beat him badly , and he was defending himself from serious
bodily harm. Doug believed that he was in imminent danger, had no way to retreat, and that the use of

The Jury will have to decide if Doug s deadly force was excessive. Tom s words carry a threat of

Use of force to defend one s property or one s self from harm is justified.
A homeowner generally cannot use deadly force to defend his property. This is based on the judgment
that human life is more valuable than property.
Doug will argue that he was defending himself and his property and was acting in self defense.

My Day At The Animal Rescue Center ( Arc )
Finally, the end is here..for junior year that is. For some, this means no more volunteering and for
others, it may mean more. As for myself, I believe I will keep volunteering after my community
service hours are done. In a way, it has become sort of a procedural memory for me. Every Wednesday
my brain refers to its long term memory and how to perform the skills, operations, and actions needed
for cleaning kennels or walking dogs that day. My day at the Animal Rescue Center (ARC) of Carroll
starts with being greeted with barks from the dogs. Next, my brain pulls out from long term to get
doors down so the dogs can t get outside, get my cleaning supplies needed, get the keys to unlock the
outside kennel doors, and get to work. And when I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although, sometimes our minds can get away from us with absent mindedness. This occurs when we
do not pay enough attention to a bit of information when we should be encoding it; it often occurs
when our attention is divided. For example, we may get distracted while walking a dog by a butterfly
or a strange noise and with this distraction, it can cause our attention to stray from the dogś
surroundings to that object. If this occurs, the dog may escape from our grasp and into possible danger
like traffic. But ARC does have rules that may prevent this even with absent mindedness; walkers
have to have the leash around their wrist and in their hands to prevent runaway dogs. Absent
mindedness can also occur in a less dangerous matter. It could occur when cleaning kennels. Since we
are so used to cleaning the same kennel walls every week, we may space out while hosing down the
walls or spraying solution to sanitize them. Because at that point, we are just going through the
motions.
These routine motions are called algorithms. Algorithms are defined as step by step procedures or
methods that always produce the correct solution; a routine. The algorithm for the dog kennels at ARC
are actually very simple, but critical for the building and the dogs. For cleaning the inside kennels, the
first step is to close all of the doors leading to the outside kennels. Following that is to get the dog in
the kennel you are about to clean on a leash and ready to walk by a fellow

Examples Of Achieved Statuses
An achieved status is acquired on the basis of merit; it is a position that is earned or chosen and
reflects a person s skills, abilities, and efforts. Examples of achieved statuses include one s profession.
An ascribed status, on the other hand, is one that is beyond an individual s control. It is not earned, but
rather something people are either born with or had no control over. Some ascribed statuses are race,
nationality, and sex. Important can be defined as having a significant positive impact on one s daily
life, more specifically, one s interactions with others. Based on these definitions, this essay will argue
that, to a large extent, the statuses achieved by an individual are more important than the ones ascribed
to an individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, achieved statuses are more important than ascribed statuses as achieved statuses differentiates
people from one another, especially when they are taken into greater regard than ascribed statuses,
which then in turn affects other people s perception of them. One example of this is education in
Singapore, where the greater emphasis on one s results places the spotlight on individual
achievements. Students are judged by others based on how much they score for tests and what grades
they get. One of the first things family members ask students when they meet them is how they are
doing in school. Furthermore, there are programmes in Singapore that provide greater depth and
breadth of content for students, for which the students are selected based purely on merit and ability.
The Gifted Education Programme (GEP) is one such programme that aims to identify individuals who
are gifted and provide them with a more enriched programme. All students in the country take
selection tests in Primary 3 and the top 1% of the cohort is identified for the programme. The selection
test does not discriminate based on one s ascribed statuses, be it race, religion or nationality.

Silent Spring Review Paper
The concept of environment includes the junction of severe factors that directly or indirectly affects
the development and life of human beings, animals and all kind of natural resources. Milstein Stark
(2017) divides the field of environmental health into four categories that can be described as
biological, chemical, physical, and psychosocial factors. It means that how these factors interact with
an organism or with nature is directly correlated with the quality of life of a community or population.
This summary is going to focus on chemical factors that are daily present in our lives and require
attention. The base of this assignment is a paper called Silent Spring Review (2002) that debates about
the importance of identifying the links ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The text explains about estrogen like compounds that can be found in products that we use daily, as
well as cosmetics, plastic, pesticides and detergents. Clearly, estrogens are essential for normal human
physiology but can have serious adverse effects if allowed to accumulate in the environment and enter
the human food chain (Adeel, Song, Wang Yand, 2017). A very important information is that even a
person that avoid contact with products potentially dangerous, can be affected indirectly by another
form of contamination. One of the examples of the Silent Spring Review (2002) is when a house is
built on a site of a former farm that used certain pesticides that persist in soil for many years, even
decades. There is an interesting worldwide distribution of estrogens; the pattern of various types of
estrogen may reflect sources of estrogens or specific environmental characteristics of that part of the
world (Adeel, Song, Wang Yand, 2017). Cosmetics are also another category of products that deserve
attention in this matter. The Silent Spring Review (2002) talks about products that go from nail polish
through hair care and that can carry hormones that are endocrine disruptors and can also imbalance the

Symbolism In The Drummer Boy Of Shiloh
The story, The Drummer Boy of Shiloh , by Ray Bradbury, has many elements that can relate to real
life. In my life I have a father figure who encourages me, I have a hopeful heartbeat, and I am
inexperienced youth. In the story, the peaches resemble inexperienced youth, a drum resembles a
hopeful heartbeat, and the general resembles a father figure telling Joby to overcome his fear. One of
the most important elements of symbolism in the story is having a father figure to encourage you.Joby,
a boy of 14, ran away from home and decided to join the army in April 1862.Then the general, Joby s
father figure, encouraged him to overcome his fear of never seeing his family again or the possibility
of death. He did this, by telling Joby to keep a steady beat for the army when they were fighting. My
life can relate to Joby s because four years I got a father figure. In my life, my father figure isn t
encouraging me to fight in the war and overcome my fear of loosing my family, but he does encourage
me to try new stuff. My father figure, has encouraged me to like superheros, route for teams most
people don t like, and stick with what I like doing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Joby knew if he beat the drum slowly that the heart s of the fighting men would beat slowly too. In the
story it states a slow beat would cause the men to drowse and sleep forever. If he beat a sure and
steady beat the men would march over the hills like a wave that would be full of hope. If Joby would
set the pace and the general would command orders they would have a good chance of winning the
war. This relates to my life because everyday Nakiya says, See you 8th hour, Josh Dun. When she says
that it makes me laugh and get through the school a little better because I know she ll tell me a crazy
story when the day s over. An element of symbolism from the story I can relate to my life is having

A Summary Of La Ville Lumiere
La Ville Lumiere
The dark specter of the cool night spread across the sky, while the alluring orange color of the sunset
disappeared as nonchalantly as it came. A mixed medley of harmonious sounds streamed through the
night from the violins. Music echoed from every street corner, awakening life, springing off the Eiffel
Tower to Notre Dame and floating through the Arc de Triomphe. Soon, the people, scattered like trees
in a desolate country, grew into a huge crowd like a lush green woodland. Noises of people shrilling,
teenagers laughing and adults murmuring transpired from the crowd. The lads held their demoiselles
hands lost in their world of immortal love. Eventually, everyone slipped into their dancing shoes. The
aromas rose from the hot sizzling gourmet cuisine and cigarette smoke to quickly permeate the air.
The streets shone with dazzling lights as bright as daytime, as the astounding Eiffel Tower took form
in its enticing and glowing festive lights of amber, standing in its own elegance, like a gem on Champ
de Mars. La Ville Lumiere... here it is; Paris, the splendid metropolis, the home of the lovers and the
city that speaks the language of love.
Paris is the capital metropolis of France and an absolute destination that strikes everyone s minds
when they talk about France. There is no one who could tread the streets of Paris and not feel
incredibly alive. The visit there is worth it, for what one experiences can t be conveyed through
words! There is a player on

Hodgkin Lymphoma Case Study
Hodgkin s Lymphoma Hodgkin s Lymphoma is a type of lymphoma; it is also called Hodgkin s
Disease. Lymphoma is a type of cancer that starts in white blood cells called lymphocytes. If Hodgkin
s Lymphoma is caught early (stage one and two), patients have up to a ninety percent chance of
survival. Certain risk factors can be controlled, but most of them are uncontrollable. There are several
risk factors that can lead to Hodgkin s Lymphoma. They include age, gender, socioeconomic status,
family history, geography and previous infections. Unfortunately, most of these risk factors are
beyond each individual s control. A person who is between the ages of fifteen to forty or is above the
age of fifty five is more likely to get Hodgkin s Lymphoma. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Before treatment, patients are required to get some testing done. They would need to get cardiac and
pulmonary testing done going to an ear nose and throat doctor is highly recommended but are
optional. Patients who wish to start a family after they are done with treatment should talk to a fertility
doctor as treatments can affect a patient s future fertility. The most common treatments for Hodgkin s
Lymphoma are chemotherapy, immunotherapy, stem cell transplant ,and radiation therapy.
Chemotherapy is an efficient treatment, but it can cause some patients to get leukemia. Radiation
therapy is also very effective. When it is used aggressively it can reduce the risk of a patient relapsing,
but it has be known to boosts the chance of later fatality different causes. Immunotherapy helps a
patient s immune system. It uses medicine to help immune system to identify and kill cancer cells.
Stem cell transplants are normally the back up treatment in fighting Hodgkin s Lymphoma. Sometimes
Hodgkin s Lymphoma comes back after chemotherapy and radiation. A stem cell transplant also
allows doctors to give a higher amount of chemotherapy. Hopefully, one of

The Security Of Network Security And Web Security
The network security professionals across the globe have provided details about the attacks so that the
security software can be improved, however there are some shortcuts that can improve the security for
the time being or if the web host has a difficulty in procuring modern security software, these
techniques can help the web host to increase the security of both the web server and clients that are
connected to the web server.
The CRIME and BREACH attack both target compression that is either HTTPS or HTTP level, these
attacks also work against a number of other compressions and connections but since HTTPS and
HTTP are the most used compression levels, the security should be bolstered to protect them. The
compression can simply be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The security can also be bolstered by hiring alleged attackers that can point out the weaknesses that
are exploited and then these weaknesses can be strengthened by the security professionals.
There are also various techniques that can stop the attacker to access the LAN router so that there is
not attack initiated from the Wi Fi of a client computer. The LAN router in public places are not
extensively secure and the attackers either use these networks to initiate attack on others so that they
cannot be traced or they can simply attack the users on this network to leak information that is
important.
The protection of HTTPS connection should also be upgraded or security add ons should be created to
protect the integrity of the browser so that the client cannot be affected by the malicious JavaScript
that is sent by the attacker. There are browsers like Chrome and Mozilla which are not affected from
the attack as they have extensively worked together to ensure that security is not penetrated or
bypassed by the attacker. The other companies should also work in cooperation with each other to
ensure that their security is paramount and that attackers are minimised.
The JavaScript sends requests to a web server that is created by the attacker to capture the information
from the client so the client also needs to employ security

Potatoes At Room Temperature
Introduction (background information, purpose and hypothesis)
We know that enzymes are protein that helps to breakdown different molecules. But what if enzymes
can be breakdown? Most enzymes need homeostasis environment to survive. Well we all know that as
the amount of temperature increases the less the enzymes .Enzymes can be denatured using
temperature, PH and salt concentration. As we know that protein structure are determined by DNA
coding. We used temperature to see if increasing or decreasing temperature affected the amount of
enzyme produced. So when the temperature is increased there will be more amount of enzymes
denature due to high temperature and it would be opposite of temperature was dropped. And a
denatured protein is biologically inactive hence it needs a homeostasis environment. Hydrogen
peroxide is used for metabolic processes. The main purpose of this lab was to see that if increase in
temperature resulted in denaturing of enzymes and comparing the time for h2o2 to bubble when using
apples, onions and potatoes at room temperature. So the main questions for this lab were how does
temperature affect the amount of enzyme present in potatoes? Will there be any change in amount of
bubbles produced if apples and onions were used with potatoes at room temperature?
Material required ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We also used refrigerator and heat bath to decrease and increase the temperature of potatoes. A knife
was used to cut slices of potatoes, scale was used to measure the weight of potatoes so it does not

peroxide to show bubbling , stopwatch to measure the time. We had controls that were sliced potatoes
at room temperature to minimize the effect of variables and to compare the control to the other
variables used. Variables used were slice/smashing the potatoes and hot/cold

Technology in Medicine
Technology in medicine has been evolving for over a fifty decades. It has changed and is still
changing the way medicine is being practiced. The pace of how technology has had an impact on
medicine differs worldwide. In the third world countries the introduction of technology has been slow
compared to first world countries. We cannot deny the prowess of medical technology and how the
crucial it is for the people s health and the society. There are disadvantages and advantages that
technology has brought however the advantages seem to override the disadvantages because its
positives are magnified.
Since the 18th century technology in medicine has been on the increase. There are a number of
medical treatments and equipment that where discovered a long time ago and since them they have
been enhanced by modern technology. The stethoscope first discovered by Rene Laennes (1816), Sir
Alexander Fleming also discovered the first antibiotic which opened doors to so many other
treatments for infections. Furthermore the first effective cancer chemotherapy drug (Nitrogen
Mustered) was first discovered by Alfred G .Gilman in 1908. Nowadays there are a number of options
offered for cancer. From the above discoveries new and modern medical equipment and treatments
have been born, which are being appreciated because they have increased life expectancy. In addition
to chemotherapy and radiotherapy a new form of medical equipment that targets only cell cancer
without damaging the healthy

How Theu.s Dollar Became The World s Most Dominant Reserve...
The objective of this paper is to give a clearer picture to how the U.S dollar became the world s most
dominant reserve currency . Several countries use it as their official currency, and many others use it
as the de facto currency . Moreover, American dollar is the primary reserve currency, which is used as
the standard unit in international market for commodities such as gold and petroleum. However, the
dollar has been declining over the last three decades; in fact it has lost almost half its value against
other major currencies. The purpose of this research is to bring clarity for the following questions:
How, when and why the dollar became the world s reserve currency? Benefits of having the largest
world reserve currency? Comparing the dollar with the pound and the up and rising Chinese Renminbi
(RMB), and predictions for the future.
Keywords: Currency fluctuation; Reserve Currency; International Market; Global Reach
I. Introduction
We use the term reserve currency when we mean other countries use of dollars in international trade.
If Sweden, for example, buys goods from China, the goods can be paid with American dollars instead
of Swedish Krona. The methodological approach to address how, when and why the dollar became the
world s reserve currency will be supported by a historical and statistical analysis. With a better
understanding on how the U.S dollar become the most powerful currency we can advance to
understand the cost and benefits of it.

1700s Of Industrialization
Industrialization contributed to city growth in many ways. Industry not only changes a country s way
of living, it also transforms class struggles and social actions. During the 1700s 1800s industrialization
grew and had four major effects on how it contributed to city growth. The first effect of
industrialization was with working conditions. Back then the factories were dirty and dangerous. If
you went to work one day, there were high percentages that you could leave very injured or dead. The
most harsh place to work was the coal mines. Accidents, damp conditions, and the constant breathing
of coal dust made the average life span for a worker much shorter. However, no matter these
consequences it still brought in many new workers and

Second Lines Of New Orleans Nicole Hall Anthropology November 9, 2015 Second Lines in New Orleans On the morning of August 29, 2005 was one of the deadliest hurricanes in the United States, known as Hurricane Katrina struck the south coast of New Orleans, leaving thousands of African American whom lived in Treme homeless, missing and hundreds dead. Way before the hurricane Treme, which is one of the oldest African American neighborhoods in New Orleans. The city of New Orleans is officially divided into 73 neighborhoods grouped into 13 planning districts. Among these, the 4th district is of interest because of its central location, cultural history, and socio economic challenges confronted prior to the catastrophe (Barrios, 2). People that have been here a short time, and I mean twenty years is a short time, twenty years or less. They want the second lines to clean up after themselves... Growing up in Treme, you had a bar, a church, and a funeral home, so you knew where your family was (Barrios, 14). Cheryl Austin caused much commotion with his comments and sparked attention with Pierre Bourdieu, who describes her as recently, arrived outsiders. For me, if you did not grow up here, you cannot appreciate living here. People who think like that, people who want Treme transformed, could go anywhere and dismantle what was there and build what they wanted. For outsiders, the most important thing here is the building. For us, it is our culture, for us, that is, what we consider community, not the buildings (Barrios, 15). Both Austin and Bourdieu make two completely point about the way they view their culture difference of Treme. To my knowledge what Austin was trying to interpret his view is that when he grew up in Treme, it was all about being free and being comfortable around your own neighborhood, which I absolutely agree with. I wouldn t want to live in a neighborhood where I couldn t feel free to do what I want to do, like sitting on the privacy of my own home and drinking a beer without being judge and that what the ... • 7. Dr. Bernard, Canada s Nine Non Partisan Senators Introduction In October 2016, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau named Nova Scotia s Wanda Thomas Bernard as one of Canada s nine non partisan senators (Williams, 2016). According to Semansky (2016), Dr. Bernard, who serves as the university s special advisor, diversity and inclusiveness, [is] the first African Nova Scotian woman to serve in the Senate Chamber (para. 2). In response to the news, Bernard has stated that equity for all is [her] primary goal in life. In this section, I will briefly discuss the effects of Trudeau s Senate reforms and argue that reform is better than abolishment. Trudeau s three phased Senate reforms give minority group leaders an opportunity to represent their communities. The reforms attempt to shift the focus from gaining support for the Liberal party, to a collection of different and diverse minds within the Senate. The first phase of the reforms focused on the [removal of] all senators from the national Liberal caucus , which inherently suggested that senators [no longer] have formal or organic ties with the Liberal caucus, nor do they have any organizational, financial or other formal responsibilities within the Liberal Party (Dion, 2015, para. 5). Going from there, the [creation of] a new, nonpartisan, merit based, broad and diverse process to advise the prime minister on Senate appointments was the second item on the agenda (Dion, 2015, para. 6). Finally, the third phase targeted the inclusion of marginalized groups, such as women and minorities, in the Senate (Dion, 2015). Therefore, Trudeau s appointments are changing the direction of the Senate to include historically oppressed minorities and their representatives. That being stated, one particular argument that has been raised in opposition to Senate reforms is that the upper house is no longer relevant and should be abolished (Maclean s, 2013). Hmong report below average English proficiency, educational attainment, and household income. Due to the model minority argument, Hmong and other struggling Asian American subgroups don t receive substantial government assistance despite their alarming statistics. In their native countries, Hmong lived in isolated, rural regions with little traditional schooling functioning primarily as farmers. As a result of the Hmong coming to the U.S. as refugees as opposed to immigrants, they didn t undergo the same self selection process which favors educated and wealthy professionals. Because the majority of Hmong came to the U.S. for survival rather than economic gain they were unprepared socially and economically for life in the U.S. In 2015, 60% of the foreign born Hmong population reported their level of education as high school or less. Additionally, only 40% of the foreign born Hmong population reported being proficient in English. These statistics indicate that a large portion of Hmong refugees arrived in the U.S. with minimal education and spoke little English making assimilation even more difficult. Hmong Americans report a median household income of $48,000 while the U.S. average is $57,000. • 10. Persuasive Essay On Male Circumcision In September of 1997, it became illegal in the united states to perform circumcisions on females (Horowitz, 1997). However, to this day there is still a gender based human rights violation that has not been protected by law. Male infants often undergo genital surgery that is not medically necessary. Male circumcision is the only non therapeutic surgery performed on minors as an attempt to prevent disease. It is my hope that one day, all newborns will be protected from having their genitals altered, unless medically necessary. Many people become outraged at the thought of females being circumcised, but are okay with circumcising males. The double standard in America is astonishing. While other developed countries are trying to out this barbaric procedure and recommending parents leave their babies intact, the U.S is still promoting this outdated and unnecessary surgery. There are no medical organizations in the world that recommend routinely circumcising all infant males. The Canadian pediatric society states The CPS does not recommend the routine circumcision of every newborn male (Canadian paediatric). Relationships are also bound by rules in order for these to succeed. However these rules vary depending on the type of relationship a person has. Relationship rules theory is oriented to make several aspects of relationships more clear. These rules help identify behaviors that can be either destructive or successful in a relationship. Additionally, Relationship Rules help to single out more specific reasons as why relationships end and what can be a solution to repair them. There are four different types of relationship rules and those are friendship rules, romantic rules, family rules and workplace rules. Each of these relationship rules has different functions and these rules cannot be broken in order for a relationship to stay healthy. Friendship Rules Friendship is a word that envelops powerful meanings that everyone should not take for granted. Those meanings can be trust on others, love, support, care for others, compassion, and/or loyalty. People give those meanings different levels depending on the type of friends they have and how worth it those friends are. It is true that friends can be considered part of our own family and they have to be loved and respected as such. There are various factors responsible for this decline, resulting in serious impacts on the environment and the economy. Critically discuss the causes of deforestation and solutions to it. Deforestation is the cutting down of a large area of trees and the destruction of forests by people. Forests are what we call an exhaustible resource, one which can be used up if it is not used carefully. Over the last few decades, deforestation has threatened the rainforests with total extinction. To understand why deforestation is such an important issue, you first have to understand why trees matter. Trees improve in many ways the life of all species, including the human race. ... (www.investorwords.com) Many private agents, according to these studies, have no interest in maintaining the forest s beauty and biodiversity, as services provided by forests are benefits that cannot be priced, so are not profit making. Another factor precipitating deforestation appears to be poverty. Commonly held views argue that high discount rates received by poor countries are a cause of deforestation (The World Bank Forestry Policy 1991, Pearce and Watford 1993.). Because forests imply long gestation; private agents, particularly from the poorest countries, value what they can get immediately from forests more than what they can get in the future. But in 1999, Ekbom and Bojo challenged those views in a World Bank examination by showing that poverty does not necessarily lead to shorter time horizons and an increased rate of environmental degradation. They show how in fact the rural poor have used resources in a conservationist manner over a long period spanning centuries. Instead of addressing personalized conflicts, I would like to attempt to provide critical analysis on a crucial social issue facing the United States. This issue is police brutality, especially against minority, particularly black Americans. I will attempt to do this with the root cause tool of critical analysis and problem solving. The conflict of police brutality has made national and international news. It has also sparked a new social movement. While police brutality is not limited to minorities, the rate that it used against African American individuals is alarming. To further the problem, no perpetrator has been brought to justice and the victims and their families are left behind or blamed. I will be using Root Cause Analysis model of critical analysis. Nearly all reactions in living organisms are catalyzed by enzymes, a large majority of which have been found to be proteins. The mechanisms by which enzymes function are varied, but all mechanisms lower the transition state free energy where the free energy barrier of a reaction is the highest. Thus, an enzymatically catalyzed reaction proceeds at a significantly increased rate than that of an unanalyzed reaction. • 34. The Network Structure Is Called Learning Beyond Organization Description The organization we will be working for to organize and implement their network structure is called Learning Beyond. It is a small educational program that students can attend after school in place of the after school child care. It provides a fun educational environment for students who are in need of additional tutoring in certain subjects, or who wish to expand their knowledge beyond the school day. As of right now, it is fairly small, but we would like room for additional growth as the program gains popularity. The basic requirements are two main instructor computers, 10 student laptops, and one wireless printer. Internet access will be needed for each of these computers as well. An additional building will later be provided at an alternate location that will need to be connected to this main network. A Juniper Router will be needed, since the operating system the computers will be running will be JUNOS. We will configure the network to be run on the IPv6 addressing system, to prevent the need of reconfiguration when the mass crossover to IPv6 occurs. The network needs to be configured to add any additional devices that will be needed in the future as the program grows. Configuring IPv6 on a Juniper router A router on the network will provide the ability to connect multiple local area networks (LAN) together in order for them to communicate. In this case, we will be using a Juniper router to accommodate the JUNOS operation system. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This occurs when we do not pay enough attention to a bit of information when we should be encoding it; it often occurs when our attention is divided. For example, we may get distracted while walking a dog by a butterfly or a strange noise and with this distraction, it can cause our attention to stray from the dogś surroundings to that object. If this occurs, the dog may escape from our grasp and into possible danger like traffic. But ARC does have rules that may prevent this even with absent mindedness; walkers have to have the leash around their wrist and in their hands to prevent runaway dogs. Absent mindedness can also occur in a less dangerous matter. It could occur when cleaning kennels. Since we are so used to cleaning the same kennel walls every week, we may space out while hosing down the walls or spraying solution to sanitize them. Because at that point, we are just going through the motions. These routine motions are called algorithms. Algorithms are defined as step by step procedures or methods that always produce the correct solution; a routine. The algorithm for the dog kennels at ARC are actually very simple, but critical for the building and the dogs. Examples of achieved statuses include one s profession. An ascribed status, on the other hand, is one that is beyond an individual s control. It is not earned, but rather something people are either born with or had no control over. Some ascribed statuses are race, nationality, and sex. Firstly, achieved statuses are more important than ascribed statuses as achieved statuses differentiates people from one another, especially when they are taken into greater regard than ascribed statuses, which then in turn affects other people s perception of them. One example of this is education in Singapore, where the greater emphasis on one s results places the spotlight on individual achievements. Students are judged by others based on how much they score for tests and what grades they get. One of the first things family members ask students when they meet them is how they are doing in school. Furthermore, there are programmes in Singapore that provide greater depth and breadth of content for students, for which the students are selected based purely on merit and ability. But what if enzymes can be breakdown? Most enzymes need homeostasis environment to survive. Well we all know that as the amount of temperature increases the less the enzymes .Enzymes can be denatured using temperature, PH and salt concentration. As we know that protein structure are determined by DNA coding. We used temperature to see if increasing or decreasing temperature affected the amount of enzyme produced. So when the temperature is increased there will be more amount of enzymes denature due to high temperature and it would be opposite of temperature was dropped. And a denatured protein is biologically inactive hence it needs a homeostasis environment. Hydrogen peroxide is used for metabolic processes. The main purpose of this lab was to see that if increase in temperature resulted in denaturing of enzymes and comparing the time for h2o2 to bubble when using apples, onions and potatoes at room temperature.
