Similarities And Difference Between Xi Jinping And Deng...
Similarity and Difference between Xi Jinping and Deng Xiaoping
China is a vast country, but its long and unique history is inextricably intertwined with the countries
and peoples of its near neighbours in Southeast Asia. China has been successful in relations with
Southeast Asia during the reform era, and success has been due primarily to the quality of
diplomatic leadership. Diplomacy involves more than the tactics and style of pursuing national
interests. China s diplomacy has involved dominant personalities like Deng Xiaoping, who is a
leader of the People s Republic of China from 1978 to the early 1990s. Deng Xiaoping is the
paramount leader at the end of the 1970s. Bill Clinton, former US President said that Mr. Deng s
long life spanned a century of turmoil, tribulation and remarkable change in China. China ... Show

Until now, Chinese president Xi Jinping is putting developing good neighborly relations high on
Chinese foreign policy agendas. He also focuses on practical ideas to better economic, political and
cultural links with these nations, through mechanisms. For instance, in an effort to strengthen
economic and cultural links with Southeast Asia and beyond, Xi Jinping raised the idea of the One
Belt, One Road that links China with neighbors together in a community of shared destiny and
interest.
Xi s Dream and the rhetoric his team have deployed in presidential speeches (in public and behind
closed doors). President Xi has made considerable efforts to emphasize the importance of Chinese
culture to China today and to its future, exerting compatriots to demonstrate more pride in China s
culture, civilization and history. He also needs opened up China to the world. China s policy in

Galtung discusses most of the points that are crucial to this paper like the similar factors between

One of which is the book named the European superpower. The book by John McCormick is all
about Europe being the new superpower. McCormick based his ideas on the economic, political and
cultural status of Europe. It has become a routine for everyone that the United States of America is
the world s last remaining superpower. The nature of power has developed since the Cold War
driven meaning of superpower evolved.
Military power is no longer essential to great power; the author argues that control of the means
of production is more important than control of the means of destruction, and contrasts the
threatening hard power of the United States with the opportunities offered by the soft power
wielded by the European Union. McCormick also argues that the reason why Europe is a
superpower is because the combination of civilian and military instruments in a unique and
unprecedented is giving more advantages over the US in a world in which, as Iraq has shown,
hard power has clear limits and soft power backed by tangible means is a commodity of growing
significance. The European Union (EU) global role is the doubt of most of the current assessments
of unipolarity in world politics and American empire .
McCormick is into the idea that the global economy and the non military actions against security
threats in particular terrorism are more likely to work because they did good in encouraging and
giving opportunities to get others to

Voting In Primary Elections
The U.S. election takes place on November 8th 2016. By the end of that night, there will be a new
president of the United States, but a lot happens before that; both democrats and republicans need
to pick their candidates for president. This process is called the Primary Election. The Primary
Election votingusually takes between January and June. There are lots of republicans
running.(Cruz,Kasich,Rubio,Trump) The democrats side has only runners, Clinton and Sanders.
The first states to vote in the primary election are Iowa(Feb1) and New Hampshire(Feb9). Iowa is
a caucus state, meaning, on election night voters gather, hundreds in a town hall meeting to openly
make their choice. This was a common way of voting but is now only used in a fifth

The Mayan Culture Of Mesoamerica
Mesoamerica is the area in which the ancient Maya had lived, and is the area where modern
Mayans are still reside. According to Coe, the Mayan geographic can range from Guatemala,
Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Yucatan Peninsula, and the Mexican States of Chiapas and
Tabasco (1966:17). Yet these areas are not limited to just Mayan. Many structural architecture
remains today has proven the complexity of the Mayan culture in Mesoamerica. The Mayan
history consisted of three main phases. The Preclassic period, the Classic period, and the Late
Classic period. With each period containing several subdivisions. The Preclassic period started at
the time civilization first emerged in Mesoamerica, around 1500 B.C., to about A.D. 250/300.

Hum 115 Oil Pipeline Research Paper
Oil Pipelines Opposing Viewpoints Clayton Brooks HUM/115 Dr. Disque Oil Pipelines
Opposing View Points Pipeline is the best alternative and safest mode of transporting fuel
compared to freight trains or tanker tracks. However, there are those who argue that it is not safe
because of lack of adequate resources to inspect them, as well as the absence of regulations
regarding the use of a pipeline to transport fuel. Equally important, another issue is the great hazard
to human life and environment that can be difficult to control or eliminate in case of a spill.
Explanation of Two Different Points of View Regarding the Topic Opponents of the use of the
pipeline mode to transport fuel claim that it is responsible for numerous deaths that occur annually.
The rate of increased accidents is attributable to the fact that as a mode of fuel transportation,

The authors contend that a majority of individuals often confuse ethics with acting in line with the
law, religious beliefs, and social conventions. Consequently, people depend on various principles
and concepts to differentiate between helpful and harmful behaviors. The opponents base their
arguments regarding the topic on the concept of law. According to their arguments, the pipeline
unlike other modes of transporting fuel is not well regulated. Likewise, its accidents are
catastrophic and often attract the attention of the government and the media. Therefore, the pipeline
should not be utilized as an alternative to transporting fuel because it is quite dangerous. However,
those with the opposing viewpoints base their arguments on social conventions. The opponents
claim that the pipeline is the safest way because the fatalities that result from the use of tanks or
freight trains are 70 times higher compared to that of the

The History Of Merlin
The Great Magician
There was once a great magician a man so legendary that he s known all over the world, well at
least his myth is, this man s name is Merlin Ambrosius. There are many important details and
aspects about Merlin s life that must be addressed, these details and aspects including: his origin,
his death, and other versions of his story.
Merlin deserves a great explanation on who he is and how he came to be. [...] he called Merlin
Ambrosius (Welsh: Myrddin Emrys). He is allegedly buried in the Broceliande forest, near
Paimpont in Brittany. [...] Merlin s traditional biography casts him as a cambion: born of a mortal
woman, sired by an incubus, the non human from whom he inherits his supernatural powers and
abilities. [...] Merlin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We all know the Arthurian legend where Merlin is an adviser for Arthur and Arthur pulls the
sword out of the stone, but they re many different stories about Merlin that are just as interesting.
Robert de Boron s [...] Merlin is begotten by a demon on a virgin as an intended Antichrist. This
plot is thwarted when the expectant mother informs her confessor Blaise of her predicament;
they immediately baptize the boy at birth, thus freeing him from the power of Satan. The
demonic legacy invests Merlin with a preternatural knowledge of the past and present, which is
supplemented by God, who gives the boy a prophetic knowledge of the future (Legendary).
Another myth by Robert de Boron is slightly different from the one we know, but they are also
similar in some way to. In this legend Merlin is born from a demon and a virgin. He was supposed
to be a Antichrist, but that plan failed after the mother informed Blaise, Merlin s future mentor,
about the predicament. They baptized Merlin to get rid of the power of Satan. Apparently Merlin s
power is supplemented by God.
There are many important details and aspects about Merlin s life that we have addressed these
details and aspects included: his origin, his death, and other versions of his story. The myth of
Merlin was probably one of the greatest Myth written in the Middle ages. He was the greatest
wizard or sage ever written about, and somebody who would always advise and

Self Advocacy In Education

populations entering into a university (Walker Test, 2011). As this number increases, more focus
is being placed on ensuring these students are successful. Self determination skills have played a
major part in the success of students with disabilities (Walker Test, 2011). A component of self
determination is self advocacy, which is defined by students taking care of their personal business

In order to evaluate and develop rehabilitation approaches for adolescents, one should consider
utilizing the perspectives of youth (Kramer, Barth, Livingston, O Neil, Smith, Vallier and Wolfe,
2013). Utilizing youth, with disabilities, in the creation and implementation phases of new
interventions could possible ensure other youth find the interventions pleasant and functional
(Kramer et. al, 2014). With this study, youth with LD assisted in the development of programs that
focuses on shifting youth recuperation from distinct impairment to social causes of disability
(Kramer et. al, 2014). Project TEAM (Teens making Environment and Activity Modifications) is
the name of the new training (Kramer et. al, 2014). Project TEAM consisted of six youth with
disabilities, a researcher and advocate. Project TEAM used a behavioral technique called the Game
Plan to allow youth with disabilities to determine environmental barriers, identify solutions, and
request accommodations. A youth panel, consisting of students with disabilities, was created to
assist Project TEAM and the researcher on the curriculum (Kramer et. al, 2014). With the
researcher giving the youth panel space and opportunity to share their voice, the researcher was
able to maintain valuable information regarding their perception of their disability (Kramer et. al,
2014). Members of the youth panel contributions assisted Project TEAM. The youth panel
participants designed tools to collect data, retrieved data, and analyzed data (Kramer et. al, 2014).
With the ability to be involved in all phases of the research process allowed students with
disabilities the opportunity to influence other researchers in the field of rehabilitation and any
potential Project TEAM member (Kramer et. al, 2014). Environmental and social influences
surrounding a disability can be influenced in the future by new approaches created by Project
TEAM (Kramer et. al,

Unholy Confessions Mood
I started off my day by waking up to my boyfriend s phone alarm. The song is called Unholy
Confessions by Avenged Sevenfold. It is in the genre of heavy metal and he picked that song to
help wake him up since he s a heavy sleeper. The tempo of the music was fast and the dynamics of
this song was forte. The main contributor to the dynamics is the vocalist who just screams the
majority of the song. The combination of loud and fast musiccreated an upbeat mood which makes
us feel like jumping out of bed every morning. For the meter, there were four beats in a measure,
and I found it by listening for the downbeat which was the combination of the bass, the bass
drum, and loud electric guitar on the first beat of every measure. I don t particularly like this
genre of music and listening to it makes me feel very uncomfortable because to me it s very
chaotic and not it s not peaceful enough. In my musical theatre class, we are studying the musical
Show Boat (1927). During class, we watched a YouTube video on the performance of the song
called Ol Man River. This song s genre is operaand I can tell because the style is to sing very long
notes in vibrato and I at times I cannot tell what... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I love this song because it is sung by my favorite artist Taylor Swift and the genre is pop. I can
immediately tell this song is pop because of the style of the song. The beat is fast, the guitar and
keyboard creates a hip and cool beat, and I can recognize the artists voices immediately. The
texture of this song is thick as it is edited to have many different instrumental parts adding to make
the song come together as one. Zayn is a male singer and sings in the countertenor vocal range, but
he can also sing in a high soprano vocal range like Taylor Swift does in this song. The couple both

The Federalist Party Vs. The United States
By 1800, the Federalist Party was divided, clearing the way to the presidency for the Democratic
Republicans. Federalists like Washington and Adams wanted the federal government to have most
of the power in the United States. The non Federalists, Jefferson and Madison, during that time
wanted a small federal government with very little power. They were very much concerned with
state rights and individual freedom for the people. The political shift from Federalists, Washington
and Adams, to Democratic Republicans, Jefferson and Madison, resulted in non Federalists coming
to power and a shifting of government focus, the repealing of policies such as the Alien and
Sedition Actsand the Judiciary Act of 1808, and westward expansion.... Show more content on

Jefferson, as a non Federalist, believed that Hamilton s national bank was unconstitutional and
decided to abandon that policy, trim the federalist budget, and cut taxes. Jefferson, as a Democratic
Republican, did not like or trust the government due to its limit on the freedom of the individuals,
but he acknowledged the necessity. Jefferson believed in a democracy where the people and the
states had most of the power, which was a great step away from the policies the federalists had been
putting in place. In order to fulfill the non federalist s wishes to return power to the state, it meant
relinquishing powers of the central government, and this began with repealing the alien and
sedition acts put in place by the federalists. One of Adam s major flaws in his presidency was the
execution of the Alien and Sedition Acts, which allowed the government to compulsorily banish
foreigners and jail newspaper editors for scandalous writing. The acts were political, aimed at
abolishing new settlers support for Democratic Republicans. The Sedition Act strictly regulated anti
government speech and was a clear violation of the First Amendment. When the Federalists came
into power, they repealed the Alien and Sedition acts, and Jefferson led the opposition to them.
Together with Madison, he drafted the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions, which claimed that the
Alien and Sedition Acts were unconstitutional. In addition, before the federalists had left

through his relationship with Annie Hall, played by Diane Keaton. The thematic elements of the
relationship between Alvy and Annie is an example of the 1960 s and 1970 s film era. The

the offbeat new values and point of view of youth. The relationship between Alvy and Annie is

Influences of the Medici Family During the Renaissance
The Renaissance was a very important time period in the world. Without the Renaissance many
things besides the art world would be different. Another thing would be the banking system. What
people consider art could be completely different. The Medici family really helped Florence
become the main city of the Renaissance. At one point, sienna would have been the main city
because people believed that just looking at their city was like art. Just looking at the city made
someone shiver. Siena had a few things that it could offer but nothing like what Florencehad to
offer. Although Siena was an advanced city at the end of the Middle Ages Florence surpassed it
to become the center of the Renaissance mostly due to the Medici family. At one point during the
Renaissance Siena was supposed to be the center of the Renaissance. Florence eventually took it
over to become the center (travelrental). Sienna enjoyed architecture and that was mostly what
people considered art during this time period. Another reason was because Siena was a beautiful
city with really pretty views. Nobody during this time period really knew what real art was except
for some really famous painters (spitz 110). The architecture on the buildings of Sienna was
absolutely outstanding. Many people came to visit just so that they could see the outstanding
detailed buildings. A visitor could not walk down a street in Siena without seeing one marvelous
building filled with design (courtauld).

This can make it more of a need item rather than a luxury item. They could benchmark the
product developed by gin miller. They could make the product reusable. This would also attract
the people of developing countries who don t have the disposable income to continue to buy the
product. Another way to do this is dumping. They could severely reduce the price of the product
initially to create the demand, and then slowly increase the price as the demand rises for the
product. They can also create signage to attract buyers in the pharmacies that have the product
displayed behind the counters. They can also develop billboards and other advertising that is
tailored and messages the local customs and beliefs of the different geographical sectors. They
can also give out coupons to attract people that are unaware of the product. They can also opt to
do what they have always done, because the product is successful. To take the do nothing
approach is dreadful, because the competition is out there lurking, just waiting for CNS to rest on
their laurels. Conclusion The CNS Company is already a successful company due to the
achievements of its breathing right strips. In my analysis we learned that they already do a lot of
things right. What they need to be aware of is the different economical situations in the global
marketplace, there are different ways that the product is approved abroad, and there is competition

What Is The Powerful Message In Ayn Rand s Atlas Shrugged
The Powerful Message of Ayn Rand s Atlas Shrugged
Capitalism, according to John Galt, is mutual trade to mutual advantage, (Rand Atlas Shrugged 989)
or as Adam Smith put it: [trade] by mutual consent and to mutual advantage. In true capitalism, the
economy is strictly separated from the state, just as there is a separation between church and state
in the USA. This basic tenet of capitalism describes the only economic system that can be morally
justifiable. Communism, fascism, socialism, dictatorships and regulated capitalism are all systems
that breach upon an individual s basic rights, while capitalism respects and recognizes a man s right
to control the product of his mind. In her philosophical treatise Atlas ... Show more content on

By utilizing hard working and honest heroes and heroines such as Hank Rearden and Dagny
Taggart, Ayn Randpresents what really happens to the victims of the needy.
In essence, capitalism is the only economic system that is compatible with individual freedom. In
every other form of economy, a person is, in one way or another, a slave to the non entity known
as the public good. In the anti capitalist society of Atlas Shrugged, the Hank Reardens and the
Dagny Taggarts of the world are constantly at the mercy of the government s whims and fancies
because, whenever it deems that the public good is threatened, the government can justify any
action towards them. Points one and two of Directive 10 289 where workers must stay where they
work and businesses must stay in operation clearly illustrate how an anti capitalist economy can
literally enslave its people In the name of general welfare (Rand Atlas Shrugged 505).
The right to life is the most important freedom an individual can have, and capitalism is the only
system that is consistent with this right. Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the
man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life (Rand Man s
Rights 288). This necessarily leads to the notion of the absolute right to private property, the
bedrock upon which the moral and practical foundations of the capitalist system rest. By

all of the bread had made him too tired and he fell asleep, dreaming about the woman s bread.
In the morning, the woman walked in the kitchen to find all her bread missing! Oh no! She

Significance And Innovation Of The Proposed Research
Significance and innovation of the proposed research The use and comprehension of the passive
sentence structure is the subject of much debate in the field of psycholinguistics. There have been
many studies conducted addressing the issue of why passive sentence structures are so underused
as compared to active sentence structures in children. Several studies have tried to show that
passive sentence structures can actually be elicited through structural priming, or more generally
being more exposed to that specific type of sentence. Although plenty of research as been
conducted examining the P600 response in reference to various types of syntactical anomalies, I
could not find one study that was specifically focused on the priming of passive sentence
structures, even though it is said that the P600 should respond to this specific sentence structure.
Therefore, the proposed study will contribute to the field of psycholinguistics by examining the
P600 response of children using the structural priming paradigm. Based on the results of the study,
the study may also be able to determine if the P600 response could serve as an adequate neural
marker for the effectiveness of passive voicestructural priming.
Study design The proposed study will make use of the structural priming paradigm used in previous
studies (GГЎmez Shimpi, 2015; Vasilyeva, Waterfall, GГ
Ўmez, GГіmez, Bowers, Shimpi, 2010),
as well as the measurement of event related potentials. Participants are to be randomly

Healthy Foods That Cause Belly Fat Essay
Healthy Foods That Cause Belly Fat
What s your waist to hip ratio? We often see this number thrown about in relation to what ratio is
most attractive to the opposite sex. But it s relevant for a much more important reason.
Even if you re not overweight, collecting more weight around your middle can spell trouble. In
general, a thicker waist can indicate a higher risk of heart disease, among other illnesses.
Health organizations recommend that a woman s waist size should remain under 35 inches for
better health and longevity. Meanwhile, men should remain under 40 inches.
As for the waist to hip ratio, women should strive to keep it below .85, while men should be under
.9. Confused? You can calculate your ratio here.

And time and time again, studies demonstrate that HFCS makes us gain weight more than regular
sugar.
It can be difficult to eliminate, as an estimated 40% of foods produced with a sweetener use HFCS.
But if you want to get rid of belly fat, it s essential to read labels and limit or avoid it.
Where it s hiding: If you lay off the soda and cookies, you re good, right? Nope. Yogurt, salad
dressing, cereal, juice, applesauce, protein bars, and more can contain HFCS. Even if it says natural
or something to the effect of healthy on the packaging.
Trans Fats. You ll find trans fats in items that contain partially hydrogenated oils. Trans fats are an
excellent example of how things can go wrong even when you have the best intentions. For many
years, the ill effects of trans fats were largely unknown.
The founder of trans fats, Wilhelm Normann, actually made food more accessible when he created
them over 100 years ago. Partially hydrogenated oils made foods last longer, and it was cheaper
than animal sourced lard and tallow.
However, the truth is that trans fats and partially hydrogenated oils are among the very worst
modern inventions. This isn t opinion; even the FDA has plans to phase it out of our food supply
by next year. Let s hope it doesn t take too long.
Why? Because it causes heart attacks, plain and simple. The Harvard School of Public Health
estimates that eliminating trans fats can prevent 1 in 5 heart attack deaths!

Analyzing The Soil Structure Of Soil Properties
On the other hand, soil properties are very difficult to determine because in comparison to steel
and concrete, it is a lenient material, which makes it very difficult to acquire samples for testing
that will produce laboratory results on the same level as its everyday behaviour. Other problems
are; the type of soil affects the ability to collect representative samples eg. stiff clay is more
difficult to sample than soft clay. Differences in sampling techniques in laboratories further
complicate the problem. Additional complicating factors are that soil material properties are stress
dependent, and the soil profile will in practice consist of layers of materials with different material
properties, because of this, the true properties of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Application of the Winkler model involves the solution of a four order differential equation. For
beams, the equation to be solved is; Where D = the beam flexural rigidity k = the modulus of
soil modulus q = the uniformly distributed load on the beam The model consists of linearly
elastic springs with a stiffness of k, placed at discrete intervals below the beam, where k is the
modulus of soil modulus of the soil. The model is also known as a one parameter model 1.3
Problems with the Winkler Model Determination of the Modulus of Soil modulus In addition to
the relative difficulties involved in the solution of this equation, it is not commonly used by
practicing engineers because of the difficulty involved in determining the value of the modulus
of soil modulus, k. Researchers have worked on developing techniques for the determination of
k. One of the most decisive papers was by Terzaghi (1955). He showed that the soil modulus
depends upon the dimensions of the area acted upon by the soil modulus. The Winkler theory
assumes that no interaction exists between adjacent points in the soil profile. As shown in Figure
1, the springs are considered as isolated foundation elements. In order to improve the physical
representation and still apply a relatively simple model, researchers have progressed on two
different routes. Cheung and Zienkiewicz (1965), have considered the problem of beams on an
elastic semi infinite profile by introducing Figure 1

Skinner vs. Bandura
Behaviorism has been a major school of thought in psychology since 1913, when John B. Watson
published an influential article. Watson argued that psychology should abandon its earlier focus on
mind and mental processes and focus exclusively on overt behavior. He contended that psychology
could not study mental processes in a scientific manner because they are private and not accessible
to outside observation. In completely rejecting mental processes as a suitable subject for scientific
study, Watson took an extreme position that is no longer dominant among modern behaviorists.
Thus, most behaviorists view an individual s personality as a collection of response tendencies that
are tied to various stimulus situations. A specific situation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, I clowned around in class and gained appreciative comments and smiles from
schoolmates. This social approval reinforced my clowning around behavior. If such behavior
would have been reinforced with some regularity, it would have gradually become an integral
element of my personality. Similarly, whether or not I developed traits such as independence,
assertiveness, or selfishness depended on whether I got reinforced for such behavior by parents
or by other influential persons. Negative reinforcement occurs when a response is strengthened
(increased in frequency) because it is followed by the removal of a (presumably) unpleasant
stimulus (Skinner, p.67). Do not let the word negative here confuse you. Negative reinforcement
is reinforcement. Like positive reinforcement, it strengthens a response. However, this
strengthening occurs because the response gets rid of an aversive stimulus. Consider a few
examples: I rush home in winter to get out of the cold. I clean my house to get rid of a mess.
Parents gave in to my begging to halt my whining. Negative reinforcement plays a major role in
the development of avoidance tendencies. As you have may notices, many people tend to avoid
facing up to awkward situations and sticky personal problems. This personality trait typically
develops because avoidance behavior gets rid of anxiety and is therefore negatively

Internal Controls

Internal Controls Internal controls are the measures a company takes to do accomplish two

For example, entering data and having limited tasks in an area increase the effectiveness of
internal controls. In other areas, such as cash handling combined with customer service and
other various tasks, those internal controls may not seem as important concerning the register as
it does stock. Comparison of Internal Controls Establishment of responsibility and segregation
of duties are similar in that one person is assigned and responsible for a certain asset. In
establishing responsibility, it is easy to determine who made a mistake and how it was made
because one person was responsible. In segregation of duties, one person is assigned to a certain
task alternately. For example, having one person count the cash in the office and having the other
key it into the system, to ensure numbers are not being changed to make everything appear
balanced. Physical, mechanical and electronic controls are used to safeguard assets and enhance
the security of them (Weygandt, 2009). Examples would be keys only assigned to cash office
personnel, the code on the vault, time clocks and video surveillance. Independent internal
verification is way of double checking the information reported by employees. For example,
managers are not directly associated with the accounting office and they check the daily work
completed by accounting office employees on a weekly or semi weekly basis to ensure that all

Building A Resort On Great Lake
Goals and Communication Objectives: The goal of this project is to obtain city approval to
build a resort on Great Lake, located in Great Lake City, Wisconsin. The project will bring in a
large annual revenue and also create jobs for the city, unfortunately the project will effect a rare
waterfowls habitat who lives in a slough on the lake. In order to obtain city approval Great
Northern will have to address the residents and solve the issue of possibly enraged
environmentalists about building the resort. Great Northern will communicate to the residents with
three objectives in mind. First, to create awareness that the land has been sold to them to at least
70% of residents. Second, to create a positive company image to the more than half of the residents
within one to two months. Last, to change the attitude of those who are against construction
because it could hurt the waterfowl and sway people beliefs that the resort will be beneficial to
Great Lake Cities economy.
Key Publics: The primary figures that Great Northern will be concerned with while trying to win
approval for the resort is the 5 member zoning commission and the separate 9 member city council.
These organizations will be the main source Great Northern needs in order to gain approval, and it
is ultimately their decision. Although, both groups will most likely want to hear public input on the
project. This makes environmental groups a secondary public that Great Northern will need to win

Humans Are Destroying The Earth
How we as humans are destroying the Earth
There have been various changes taking place on the earth. Some of the changes have been positive
while others have been negative. Man has been associated with various activities that have
contributed to significant destruction of earth and species or animals that occur in these areas.
However, sometimes natural causes are associated with the destruction of the environment. There
are various ways in which man have been associated with destruction of the environment. Some of
the common ways in which destruction has taken place is through pollution such as release of
harmful gases and overuse of resources. Others include destruction of habitat such as clearing of
forests and alteration of climate associated with human activities. However, there are also ways that
have been outlined as possible in averting changes that have taken place on earth. Such changes
may include the use of alternative energy such as the biogas. A focus on how man has been
involved in the destruction of the planet at an alarming rate will help in highlighting ways to
overcome such effects.
There are various ways in which human is involved in the destruction of the earth. The damage
has been associated with the increasing human population. This has been linked to human looking
for more space to settle and also carry out other activities. As a man looks for space, he is involved

Bill Clinton Impeach Essay
A controversial issue that occurred not too long ago would be the impeachment of former
President Bill Clinton. Clinton was impeached for having an inappropriate and unprofessional
relationship with Monic Lewinski. Lewinski served as Clinton s intern at The White House. The
investigation to impeach Clinton began in October 1998 and he was impeached in December
1998. However, Clinton was spared removal from office after the Senate voted to acquit him in
February 1999 (Clinton Impeachment). The argument for Clinton needing to be impeached is that
he lied in jury about his relationship status as well as he obstructed justice to cover up the

argument made to impeach Clinton was that just because something is popular does not mean that

Morality In The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
Conflicts in Morality People are always debating between right and wrong; some choose to follow
the crowd while others go on their intuition. In The Road by Cormac McCarthy, we see a boy and
a man who are these outliers in society; they struggle through a journey with many temptations to
give up or to become barbaric due to desperation. Traveling south down the road, the boy and man
encounter many factors of evil (stealing, violence, selfishness) that are a threat to their survival.
To prevent falling into despair, they remain the good guys during their survival in this post
apocalyptic world by establishing three laws: having hope, not resorting to cannibalism, and
prioritizing their survival over others. In The Road, one law that is enforced by the man and boy
is to have hope. In order to stray away from the insanity that is portrayed everywhere in their
environment, they have to keep a positive mindset on their journey. The father does this by holding

The emancipation of slave trade in Britain
Introduction
Within two decades, Britain had made decisive actions to abolish the transatlantic slave trade, and
this made the emancipation of trade emerge as one of the most significant reform movements that
took place in the 18th and 19th centuries. In July 1833, the British parliament abolished slave
buying and selling through the passing of a Bill in the House of Commons and then in the House
of Lords which abolished slave trade all through the British Empire. How this came into place has
been largely debated and yet slave trade provided the British nation with money, employment, and
luxurious commodities enriching the country. Interpretations of the British slave trade tends to be
explained by the humanitarian or moral movements where emancipation campaigns were made by
religious groups (Porter, 43). Another famous interpretation and which makes the focus of this
paper is that emancipation of the slave trade was due to changes in economic interests. This paper
argues that the emancipation of slave trade in British land and also on the colonial territories
coincided with the periods of economic decline in the British Caribbean, and so emancipationist
ideas came due to the growth of free labor ideologies and the factory system.
The paper is going to argue this is basing on three texts; one is The Emancipation of Slavery: The

Criminals Should Not Have Guns
Convicted Criminals Should Not Own Guns First off, gun control is one of the most stunning and
intriguing topics discussed in the United States today. Gun control should only be for criminals
they should not take guns away from innocent people. Criminals should not be allowed to carry
guns in public as protection because they may harm others, use it for illegal purposes, and with no
federal law. Also, by citing this amendment the supreme court had upheld the right of states to
govern firearms (Masters). In 2008, the decisions were confirmed that an individual right to keep

They also add that the system has holes in it (Volokh). Another problem is the laws of carrying
guns vary enormously (Volokh). The case was basically about reading the criminal state and made
sure that the criminal will not go to prison unless the government proves the requirements (Volokh).
Gorsuch and his associates argued that the 10th circuit should have turned the decision that failed
around earlier (Volokh). A felon can regain his gunrights under federal law if the state where he
got convicted restores four things (Volokh). the first and second ones are his gun rights under
state law their right to vote (Volokh). The third and fourth ones are the felons right to serve on a
jury their right to hold office (Volokh). Lastly, no criminals should be allowed to carry guns as
protection in public. Gun control should only apply to criminals who have used guns as a weapon.
One reason that criminals should not be allowed is because they used it to harm another person.
Also, a few others would be that they used it illegally or there is no federal law. Of course they
have certain restrictions on felons or criminals who have used guns as to harm

Consumer Behavior Process
INTRODUCTION Consumer behavior is considered as the mental and emotional process and the
observing behavior of consumers during searching, purchasing and post consumption of a product
or service. Consumer behavior involves study of what they buy, why they buy, how they buy, and
when they buy (Gupta Shallu, 2013). From various sources, the past experience and state of mind,
the consumer may determine the impact that advertising has on him/her. In an effort to improve
messaging and to gain the audience s attention, advertisers create some special moments to
resonate the mind of the target customer and motivate the audience to purchase the advertised
product or service (Chakrabortty, Hossain, Azad, Jakirul, 2013). The value of studying the
consumer behavior is that it gives vital information to an organization for designing an effective
marketing strategy. The way a consumer thinks, perceives, decides and is influenced is important
in designing of promotional campaigns for any product. This report will cover the extensive

inalienable rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness .After the state
Republican party convention nominated him for the U.S. Senate in 1858, Lincoln delivered his
House Divided Speech, drawing on Mark 3:25. He said that ahouse divided against it couldn t
stand. The speech created an evocative image of the danger of disunion caused by the slavery
debate, and rallied Republicans across the North. The stage was then set for the campaign for
statewide election of the Illinois legislature, which would, in turn, select Lincoln or Douglas as its
U.S. senator. On November 6, 1860, Lincoln was elected the 16th president of the United States,
beating Democrat Stephen A. Douglas, John C. Breckinridge of the Southern Democrats, and John
Bell of the new Constitutional Union Party. He was the first president from the Republican Party.
As Lincoln s election became evident, secessionists made clear their intent to leave the Union

The Spread of Buddhism Essay
The Spread of Buddhism
Buddhism is a philosophy, a moral code, and, for some a religious faith which originated in 530
BC in India. Buddhism evolved as a modification of Hinduism when Hinduism started to become
very complicated due to too many sacrifices in the name of God. Today, an estimated 300 million
people follow one of the many varieties of Buddhism.
Budda, or Siddhartha Guatama which means the awakened one had the religion named after him
because he founded the ideas behind Buddhism. Budda, a very wealthy man, was not fulfilled with
his life. One day, he decided to leave his home and wondered through the forest, nearly starving
himself to death, in search of the answer to his discontent. Nearing death, a woman found ... Show

The traditionalists, now referred to as Sthaviravada or way of the elders developed a complex set
of philosophical ideas beyond those taught by Buddha. These were collected into the Abhidharma or
higher teachings. But they, too, encouraged disagreements, so that one group after another left the
fold. Ultimately, 18 schools developed, each with their own interpretations of various issues, and
spread all over India and Southeast Asia.
A significant development happened at the same time as the Buddhist movement began to spread
and that was the opening of a new way through, from India to China. Today, we call this way the
Silk Road , and we associate it with famous travelers like Marco Polo, whose journeys to China
astounded the Europeans of his day.
The route was first established by the Chinese in search of horses and trade. It dates back to the
second century BC. From that time, it became a regular journey for traders seeking to make a small
fortune. In the following centuries, the route fell under control of different political groups, but was
always well used until the 15th century AD when sea trade dominated.
From early days, silk was exported from China to Italy where it became immensely popular.
Grapes and wine making were soon introduced to the East as well as perfumes, spices, unknown
animals and birds such as peacocks. From China, we first encountered roses, oranges and pears.
There was considerable cost to transport all

Health Issues of Indigenous Australians
As health professionals, we must look beyond individual attributes of Indigenous Australians to
gain a greater understanding and a possible explanation of why there are such high rates of ill
health issues such as alcoholism, depression, abuse, shorter life expectancy and higher prevalence
of diseases including diabetes, heart disease and obesity in our indigenous population. Looking at
just the individual aspects and the biomedical health model, we don t get the context of Aboriginal
health. This is why we need to explore in further detail what events could have created such
inequities in Aboriginal health. Other details that we should consider are the historical and cultural
factors such as, terra nullius , dispossession and social... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also the population rapidly decreased because of indiscriminate slaughter... and punitive
expeditions (Encyclopaedia of Australia, 1973) As the English population began to increase,
Aboriginal people were moved into missions in 1810, so the population could be manages and they
were taught the European ways so they could be used as low paid labours, border lining slaves
(Creative Spirits, 2002). When the Aboriginal people failed to move to Christianity and civilised
life, the Europeans thought it was due to the lack of intellectual ability because they didn t
understand the complexity and holding power of the traditional culture and religion to the
Aboriginals (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence, 2009,
pp. 77). The separation of Aboriginals from the community into missions was known as segregation.
In the early 20th century, the Indigenous Australians all throughout the nation were exposed to the
protection legislation which in turn, denied them of their basic human rights as well as the freedom
that was demanded by every other Australian. Aboriginals were increasingly moved of farms where
they worked like slaves and put into government or church controlled reserves where they were
expected to die out (Psychology and Indigenous Australians, Foundations of Cultural Competence,
2009, pp. 79). On the Australian census at this time, Aboriginals were still considered as

Nuclear Energy Is Energy Generated From The Fission Or...
Nuclear Energy Jason Venturini April 6, 2016 What is nuclear energy? Nuclear energy is
energy generated from the fission or fusion of enriched uranium. The power plants in which this
type of energy is made are called nuclear power plants, but have many variations in how this
energy is achieved. Almost all reactors use heat generated from the enriched uranium pellets to
bring water to a boil, and use steam powered generators to create power. In Canada, the type of
reactor used is called a Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR), a method created by Canada
in the 1950 s. In the next sections the inner workings of the PHWR method will be examined
and its safety explained. How does PHWR work? As mentioned before, many nuclear reactors
use enriched uranium. PHWR, however, does not for cost reasons as enrichment facilities for
uranium are complicated, expensive and the PHWR method is much more efficient. It avoids
the usage of enriched uranium through heavy water as a coolant instead of light water. Canada
specific reactors, called CANDU (CANada Deuterium Uranium) reactors use 30 40% less fuel
than light water based reactors. With the benefits of using heavy water out of the way, the
complicated process of creating energy from small uranium pellets the size of half an AA battery
will be explained as simply as possible. The process starts with hundreds of pellets being incased
in metal, welded into small cylinders and inserted into a large tank called the calandria . Nuclear

The Ecology Of The Deep Sea Species
The Ecology of the Deep sea Frilled shark (Chlamydoselachus anguineus)
The off shore marine environment changes intensively with the change in the ocean depth.
There is three distinctive zones that can be classified the Epipelagic which extends from the sea
surface to a depth of 200 meters, the mesopelagic which extends from a depth of 200 meters to a
depth of a 1000 meters and then the Deep sea which extends from a depth of a 1000 meters to
the sea floor (Castro Huber, 2010). The Deep sea can then be divided into a further three zones
(Figure 01) Bathypelagic which extends from a depth of a 1000 meters to 4000 meters,
Abyssopelagic which extends from a depth of 4000 meters to 6000 meters and Hadopelagic which

The Deep sea ecosystem has been classified as the largest ecosystem from all other ecosystems
within the world (Martin, 2003). The main characteristics of this ecosystem is that it experiences
very low oxygen levels, the water temperature is extremely cold, the pressure within this area is
very high and sunlight do not penetrate to these depths. The species that do live within this
environment are highly adapted to these harsh conditions such as the Cookie cutter Shark (Isistius
brasiliensis) (Figure 02). This essay will be focusing on the Cookie cutter Shark as well as the

Theories on Evolution of Species
What is Evolution? It is the process by which modern organisms have descended from ancient
ancestors [1]. Many great scientists have developed theories to answer the question, Where did life,
and human beings, come from? Two major theories of evolution that still exist, and valid today are
Charles Darwin s theory, and Lamarck s theory. These two theories have many differences, but
attempt to explain evolution.
Charles Robert Darwin, was a naturalist, who proposed one of the most renowned theories of
evolution; the theory of Natural Selection . Darwin published his work of evolution through his
book, The Origin of Species and describes the process of evolution as the survival of the fittest .
There are four processes to Natural Selection Variation, Inheritance, Time and Selection. Variation is
individuals genetic makeup can vary within a population. Variation can occur three ways; sex (the
independent assortment of and recombination of genes through meiosis and other processes), gene
flow ( movement of genes from one population to another )[2] and random mutation. Inheritance is
the inheritance of genetic traits from parent to offspring. Time is the timeframe where evolutionary
changes, such as speciation, can happen. Selection is survival of the fittest , where the favourable
genes dominate the population. The peppered moth is an animal, which follows Darwin s theory.
The start of the Industrial Revolution caused selection pressure on the light coloured peppered

I Collected Rhonda s Demographic And Intake Information
In the following, we will examine three progress notes from my work with Rhonda throughout her
treatment, a final clinical summary of the work, and a self reflection section on not only the
challenges, but also what was learned from our work together.
First, we will examine my initial clinical note on 8/15/16 with client, Rhonda Smith, session one.
During this first session, I collected Rhonda s demographic and intake information (Murphy
Dillon, 2015; Reamer, 2001). This included a signed consent for treatment, which we reviewed
and all her questions were answered, as well as signed medical releases for previous therapy and
agency records, i.e., DVIS, CPS, CASA, that will be requested (Murphy Dillon, 2015; Reamer,
2001). Additionally, she was informed about HIPAA, patient privacy rights, billing practices,
professional boundaries and expectations, and how to contact me during business hours, and after
hours crisis lines, and on call assistance phone numbers for resources if it is outside of my business
hours (Murphy Dillon, 2015).
Together with the above information, I collected a comprehensive history of Rhonda at our initial
session. She is a thirty six year old Asian American, born in Los Angeles, but moved to rural
Arizona when she was five because her father took a job on a cattle ranch. Rhonda s family were
refugees that moved to L.A. after the Vietnam War ended and her parents are first generation
Hmong Americans. Further, she has three sisters and she

A Collective Identity Of Europe
Post war European nations were faced with the task of restructuring their states after the
devastating war. A collective agreement was made for a political body to help stabilize much of
Europe. The Community provided external political structure that would provide the means
necessary to create a stable economy and develop technologies, but in order to do so there would
need to be a collective identity of Europe. As nationstates were trying to redefine their history and
assert their independence it became a delicate balance between maintaining their own identity and
joining in the Communitythat would impose new regulation but also provide the resources
necessary to rebuild economically. This struggle to maintain a national identity... Show more

The benefit was that nation states could now have their own domestic economy and still benefit
from the advancing international markets that were more accessible.
However, economics cannot be viewed as an independent unit. How the market works is
inadvertently based on a cultural set of ideals and markets can function differently from state to
state. In order to formalize an institution to control the economy new regulations must be set in
place. In the sense of the European Community all nations states had to join together to create a
set of rules that everyone agreed upon. By abiding by new rules nations in return could expect to
benefit from a larger political body. This all sounded very promising, a new and stronger
institution would regulate the economy, and provide security for the vulnerable post war nations.
In doing so, Europe would create a collective identity, a sense of nationality. Although after the war
the idea of a stronger unified economy sounded promising it could also be viewed as a hindrance
in the long term. The European Community s goal was to create a unification of the nation states
but from the viewpoint of a individual state this could be a loss of independence and identity. This
communal identity made western European states resemble each other much more than they
resembled those of other places or other times. The focus was no longer on

Kotcherlakota Nitin

Q: X.805 security architecture, how it compares with the X.800 network security access architecture
A: X.805 architecture was developed by the Telecommunications standardization sector of the
International Telecommunications Union X.805 (ITU T X.805) on October 2003 to provide end to
end transmission of data from one network to another.
The Security architecture logically separates complicated arrangement of end to end system s
security related features into discrete architectural components. This discretion allows a certain
systematic way to deal with end to end security that can be utilized for planning of new security
solutions and for accessing the security of the current networks. The security architecture gives a
complete, top down, end to end point of view of system security and can be connected to network
components, administrations, and applications keeping in mind the end goal to distinguish,
anticipate, and correct security vulnerabilities.
There are various threats that should be taken into consideration since these threats are likely to
destruct, corrupt remove disclose or interrupt any information or services that helps in the
efficiency of an application.
The main issues that X.805 addresses are shown below:
1. What are the threats that can occur and what kind of protection can be provided?
2. What are the distinct types of network equipment and facility groupings that need to be

Permian Extinction
Over the course of its 4.5 billion year history, the Earth has seen the rise and fall of many
populations of organisms. However, in Earth s history, there have been five big mass extinction
events, characterized as periods in Earth s history when abnormally large numbers of species die
out simultaneously or within a limited time frame. (BBC) These events are cataclysmic enough to
wipeout at least 50% of all organisms living during that period. The causes of mass extinctionare
many from the asteroids that sealed the fate of the dinosaurs to the volcanoes that choked out air to
96% of the organismic population during the Permian extinction, however one of the most recent

In the span of 50 years, the population of humans on this planet have reached all time highs and
continue to rise and with this rise comes the effects of overpopulation. The planet cannot sustain
so many people during such a short span of time. Not only is there a loss of space for new
generations of humans to live on, but there has been an excessive use of natural resources before
there is a chance to replenish them such as food, natural gases, and water. The problem of
overpopulation seems to truly encompasses all other aspects of the factors leading to the sixth
mass extinction such as habitat loss and global warming. The population must be feed and
because of this, million upon millions of acres of land once inhabited by a whole ecosystem
have been converted to farmland to provide food for the growing population. In addition, the
increase in leads to an increase in waste and therein arises a problem: where to put the waste. In
the United States alone, 4.39 pounds of trash per day and up to 56 tons of trash per year are
created by the average person Landfills seemed to be the perfect solution for this problem,
however, over the years, landfill managers have been emphasizing just how quickly they are
running out of space. The more people there are on the planet, the more waste is being produced.
Some of this waste is quite toxic, and even landfills which are

Mayor Of Casterbridge Character Development Essay
Personal growth is an essential element of human development and progress. However, even
though there are countless opportunities for the characters in Thomas Hardy s novel, The Mayor
of Casterbridge, to embrace and experience this necessary growth, there is an absence of such
personal advancement and progress. Ultimately, the decisions and actions of Michael Henchard,
Lucetta Le Sueur, Donald Farfrae, and Elizabeth Jane all demonstrate repetitive qualities and a
lack of character development which either assist or hinder the justice and moral order of the
characters fates. Throughout Hardy s plot driven novel, the true personalities of the characters
shine forth based upon their responses to the obstacles that they face or the repercussions of their
actions. Some of the characters such as Elizabeth Jane and Donald Farfrae stay true to their own
morals and beliefs as a way to demonstrate their altruism. However, other characters such as Lucetta
and Henchard stay consistent in their own lies in the hope of personal embetterment that only leads
to destruction. Even though Henchard attempts to repent and move past his previous faults by
refraining from alcohol for twenty one years after selling his wife Susan and child Elizabeth Jane,
remarrying Susan after she returns to Casterbridge, and pursuing Lucetta after Susan dies to cover
up their scandal together, Henchard lacks the dignity to move past the lies and the scandals of his
past life. Therefore, when faced with an

The book by John McCormick is all about Europe being the new superpower. McCormick based his ideas on the economic, political and cultural status of Europe. It has become a routine for everyone that the United States of America is the world s last remaining superpower. The nature of power has developed since the Cold War driven meaning of superpower evolved. Military power is no longer essential to great power; the author argues that control of the means of production is more important than control of the means of destruction, and contrasts the threatening hard power of the United States with the opportunities offered by the soft power wielded by the European Union. McCormick also argues that the reason why Europe is a superpower is because the combination of civilian and military instruments in a unique and unprecedented is giving more advantages over the US in a world in which, as Iraq has shown, hard power has clear limits and soft power backed by tangible means is a commodity of growing significance. The European Union (EU) global role is the doubt of most of the current assessments of unipolarity in world politics and American empire . It is in the genre of heavy metal and he picked that song to help wake him up since he s a heavy sleeper. The tempo of the music was fast and the dynamics of this song was forte. The main contributor to the dynamics is the vocalist who just screams the majority of the song. The combination of loud and fast musiccreated an upbeat mood which makes us feel like jumping out of bed every morning. For the meter, there were four beats in a measure, and I found it by listening for the downbeat which was the combination of the bass, the bass drum, and loud electric guitar on the first beat of every measure. • 14. The Federalist Party Vs. The United States By 1800, the Federalist Party was divided, clearing the way to the presidency for the Democratic Republicans. Federalists like Washington and Adams wanted the federal government to have most of the power in the United States. The non Federalists, Jefferson and Madison, during that time wanted a small federal government with very little power. They were very much concerned with state rights and individual freedom for the people. The political shift from Federalists, Washington and Adams, to Democratic Republicans, Jefferson and Madison, resulted in non Federalists coming to power and a shifting of government focus, the repealing of policies such as the Alien and Sedition Actsand the Judiciary Act of 1808, and westward expansion.... Jefferson, as a non Federalist, believed that Hamilton s national bank was unconstitutional and decided to abandon that policy, trim the federalist budget, and cut taxes. Jefferson, as a Democratic Republican, did not like or trust the government due to its limit on the freedom of the individuals, but he acknowledged the necessity. Jefferson believed in a democracy where the people and the states had most of the power, which was a great step away from the policies the federalists had been putting in place. In order to fulfill the non federalist s wishes to return power to the state, it meant relinquishing powers of the central government, and this began with repealing the alien and sedition acts put in place by the federalists. One of Adam s major flaws in his presidency was the execution of the Alien and Sedition Acts, which allowed the government to compulsorily banish foreigners and jail newspaper editors for scandalous writing. The acts were political, aimed at abolishing new settlers support for Democratic Republicans. The Sedition Act strictly regulated anti government speech and was a clear violation of the First Amendment. When the Federalists came into power, they repealed the Alien and Sedition acts, and Jefferson led the opposition to them. Without the Renaissance many things besides the art world would be different. Another thing would be the banking system. What people consider art could be completely different. The Medici family really helped Florence become the main city of the Renaissance. At one point, sienna would have been the main city because people believed that just looking at their city was like art. Just looking at the city made someone shiver. Siena had a few things that it could offer but nothing like what Florencehad to offer. Although Siena was an advanced city at the end of the Middle Ages Florence surpassed it to become the center of the Renaissance mostly due to the Medici family. At one point during the Renaissance Siena was supposed to be the center of the Renaissance. Florence eventually took it over to become the center (travelrental). Sienna enjoyed architecture and that was mostly what people considered art during this time period. Another reason was because Siena was a beautiful city with really pretty views. Nobody during this time period really knew what real art was except for some really famous painters (spitz 110). The architecture on the buildings of Sienna was absolutely outstanding. In true capitalism, the economy is strictly separated from the state, just as there is a separation between church and state in the USA. This basic tenet of capitalism describes the only economic system that can be morally justifiable. In the anti capitalist society of Atlas Shrugged, the Hank Reardens and the Dagny Taggarts of the world are constantly at the mercy of the government s whims and fancies because, whenever it deems that the public good is threatened, the government can justify any action towards them. Points one and two of Directive 10 289 where workers must stay where they work and businesses must stay in operation clearly illustrate how an anti capitalist economy can literally enslave its people In the name of general welfare (Rand Atlas Shrugged 505). The right to life is the most important freedom an individual can have, and capitalism is the only system that is consistent with this right. Since man has to sustain his life by his own effort, the man who has no right to the product of his effort has no means to sustain his life (Rand Man s Rights 288). Significance And Innovation Of The Proposed Research Significance and innovation of the proposed research The use and comprehension of the passive sentence structure is the subject of much debate in the field of psycholinguistics. There have been many studies conducted addressing the issue of why passive sentence structures are so underused as compared to active sentence structures in children. Several studies have tried to show that passive sentence structures can actually be elicited through structural priming, or more generally being more exposed to that specific type of sentence. Although plenty of research as been conducted examining the P600 response in reference to various types of syntactical anomalies, I could not find one study that was specifically focused on the priming of passive sentence structures, even though it is said that the P600 should respond to this specific sentence structure. Therefore, the proposed study will contribute to the field of psycholinguistics by examining the P600 response of children using the structural priming paradigm. Based on the results of the study, the study may also be able to determine if the P600 response could serve as an adequate neural marker for the effectiveness of passive voicestructural priming. Watson argued that psychology should abandon its earlier focus on mind and mental processes and focus exclusively on overt behavior. He contended that psychology could not study mental processes in a scientific manner because they are private and not accessible to outside observation. In completely rejecting mental processes as a suitable subject for scientific study, Watson took an extreme position that is no longer dominant among modern behaviorists. Similarly, whether or not I developed traits such as independence, assertiveness, or selfishness depended on whether I got reinforced for such behavior by parents or by other influential persons. Negative reinforcement occurs when a response is strengthened (increased in frequency) because it is followed by the removal of a (presumably) unpleasant stimulus (Skinner, p.67). Do not let the word negative here confuse you. Negative reinforcement is reinforcement. Like positive reinforcement, it strengthens a response. This has been a struggle for me since day one because I would always have some moments when I would not make a strong choice if I messed up. As the semester started, I knew I did not want to be hesitant with performing the combinations in class. There would often be times in class when I would look down instead of looking up especially at the barre. At the barre I notice how hesitant I would be doing certain combinations making me worried if I would be able to push myself to work harder the rest of the class. In class, I wanted to be able to try the best of my ability to just perform the combinations to not overthink what comes next. I had a tendency of looking down instead of up, which honestly does not help improve myself even more. This goes back to my lack of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. An Analysis Of Johnson s Involvement In The Vietnam War Another issue that Johnson was involved in during his presidency was the Vietnam War. This took up most of his presidency and was the reason he did not run for the second term. The decisions he made in this war were not entirely wrong but just ruined his reputation entirely. He was ridiculed by the American people for the way he handled this war. However, the real question is, was he even trying to win it? Every time we started to get ahead in the war, he would change the rules. When he first was appointed president, he continued with the commitment that the presidents had made before him which was that they will fight to see South Vietnam stay independent. • 38. The Emancipation Of Slave Trade Yi Zhong Instructor s Name Course Title June 6 2016 The emancipation of slave trade in Britain Introduction Within two decades, Britain had made decisive actions to abolish the transatlantic slave trade, and this made the emancipation of trade emerge as one of the most significant reform movements that took place in the 18th and 19th centuries. In July 1833, the British parliament abolished slave buying and selling through the passing of a Bill in the House of Commons and then in the House of Lords which abolished slave trade all through the British Empire. How this came into place has been largely debated and yet slave trade provided the British nation with money, employment, and luxurious commodities enriching the country. Interpretations of the British slave trade tends to be explained by the humanitarian or moral movements where emancipation campaigns were made by religious groups (Porter, 43). Another famous interpretation and which makes the focus of this paper is that emancipation of the slave trade was due to changes in economic interests. This paper argues that the emancipation of slave trade in British land and also on the colonial territories coincided with the periods of economic decline in the British Caribbean, and so emancipationist ideas came due to the growth of free labor ideologies and the factory system. The paper is going to argue this is basing on three texts; one is The Emancipation of Slavery: The British Debate by ReМЃvauger CeМЃcile focusing on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gorsuch and his associates argued that the 10th circuit should have turned the decision that failed around earlier (Volokh). • 47. Nuclear Energy Is Energy Generated From The Fission Or... Nuclear Energy Jason Venturini April 6, 2016 What is nuclear energy? Nuclear energy is energy generated from the fission or fusion of enriched uranium. The power plants in which this type of energy is made are called nuclear power plants, but have many variations in how this energy is achieved. Almost all reactors use heat generated from the enriched uranium pellets to bring water to a boil, and use steam powered generators to create power. In Canada, the type of reactor used is called a Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR), a method created by Canada in the 1950 s. In the next sections the inner workings of the PHWR method will be examined and its safety explained. How does PHWR work? As mentioned before, many nuclear reactors use enriched uranium. PHWR, however, does not for cost reasons as enrichment facilities for uranium are complicated, expensive and the PHWR method is much more efficient. It avoids the usage of enriched uranium through heavy water as a coolant instead of light water. Canada specific reactors, called CANDU (CANada Deuterium Uranium) reactors use 30 40% less fuel than light water based reactors. With the benefits of using heavy water out of the way, the complicated process of creating energy from small uranium pellets the size of half an AA battery will be explained as simply as possible. The process starts with hundreds of pellets being incased in metal, welded into small cylinders and inserted into a large tank called the calandria . Nuclear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many great scientists have developed theories to answer the question, Where did life, and human beings, come from? Two major theories of evolution that still exist, and valid today are Charles Darwin s theory, and Lamarck s theory. These two theories have many differences, but attempt to explain evolution. Charles Robert Darwin, was a naturalist, who proposed one of the most renowned theories of evolution; the theory of Natural Selection . Darwin published his work of evolution through his book, The Origin of Species and describes the process of evolution as the survival of the fittest . There are four processes to Natural Selection Variation, Inheritance, Time and Selection. Variation is individuals genetic makeup can vary within a population. Variation can occur three ways; sex (the independent assortment of and recombination of genes through meiosis and other processes), gene flow ( movement of genes from one population to another )[2] and random mutation. Inheritance is the inheritance of genetic traits from parent to offspring. Time is the timeframe where evolutionary changes, such as speciation, can happen.
