Latin Aerobics
This semester, I was excited to participate in Latin Aerobics. Previously, I lost seventy pounds the
previous semester thanks to hard work, and fitness classes. My primary goal was to enjoy my goal
weight, and get in shape for life while having fun; what better way to do it than a dance class? I now
want to maintain a healthy weight that I earned at my years at American River College. When I first
lost the weight, I panicked because I thought it meant permanently restricting my life to weight control
portion containers, and a plate stacked with 90% vegetables. Although, I eat healthy, I no longer
deprive myself of fun foods because I adopted a healthier mindset. Previously before my journey to
health, I finished the Magic Bullet craze, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, I am actively attempting to keep my body fat level in the healthy range. During the end of the
Latin Aerobics, I noticed that I was no longer exhausted by workouts, and I no longer had breathing
problems like the prior years Although I still cannot sprint a mile like my other classmates, I am fine
with my gains. My results have been shocking after I changed my perspective, for example, I ran on
my treadmill for twenty five minutes straight. My pace was snail like; however, I would have never
dreamed of completing a slow twenty five minute jog previously. Although, there are people who can
dance better, run faster, and lift more than me, I am prideful in my personal achievements. I began this
fitness journey when I noticed my feet hurt after going to the mailbox. It also did not help that my
family gained weight quite easily, and my family has a very alarming health history. Although, there
are not any drug addictions, diabetes runs in the family. I resorted to Xylitol and Coconut sugars as a
health prevention plan. My grandfathers died of heart attacks and hypertension, my great grandmother
died from cancer, and my uncle died of a stroke. They all were overweight from poor eating habits. I

The Reflection Of Mirrors In Black Swan By Nina Sawyers
A mirror only reflects who people have become on appearance, but whispers to the psyche of its
audience to reveal who they desire to be in their fantasy. A mirror plays a rather important role in most
of our mundane lives routinely used to fix erratic hair, oddly looking at ourselves brushing our teeth,
and for some, correcting the red mountain flaws against the skin. To a ballerina a mirror represents a
sense of alignment with one s body. To Nina Sawyers, perfecting her technique is important and the
only way to fix her mistakes is if she turns her life upside down. Sawyers practices so often she starts
to take notice of her evolution from childhood to adulthood through a mirror.
Director Darren Aronofsky uses a technique that executes an important meaning specifically his
arrangement of mirrors in the movie shows self reflection of the leading character. Obviously, a
ballerina primarily uses mirrors to build and correct his/her weakness out of obsession and technique
perfection. Which in Black Swan takes up nearly the entire movie, however it expands beyond our
initial perception. Aronofsky uses the mirrors in a way so complex it shows the audience the internal
struggles that Sawyer encounters in her household and in her career. Black Swan illustrates what Nina
Sawyers, a devoted dancer, can do in order to achieve her wildest dreams on hardwork and dedication
alone.
Toma, the director of Swan Lake defines Nina as a beautiful, fearful, fragile , dancer. Sawyer is an

comparing emerson and dickinson Essay
Ralph Waldo Emerson and Emily Dickinson were two of America s most intriguing poets. They were
both drawn to the transcendentalist movement which taught unison of creation, the righteousness of
humanity, and the preeminence of insight over logic and reason (Woodberry 113). This movement also
taught them to reject religious authority (Sherwood 66). By this declination of authority, they were
able to express their individuality. It is through their acceptance of this individuality that will illustrate
their ambiguities in their faith in God.
Emily Dickinson was an intricate and contradictory figure who moved from a reverent faith in God to
a deep suspicion of him in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first stanza she simply states that just because one can t see or have never seen something doesn
t mean that it can t or doesn t exist. That being said, Dickinson then says that she has not ever spoken
with God or visited heaven in the third pair of lines (Dickinson 1273). The final set of lines says that
she is certain of the spot (Dickinson 1273). This second stanza clearly confirms that she is confident
of her place in heaven. Dickinson believes in all of these things even though she hasn t observed any
of them. (Benfey 25) This particular poem shows of her assurance of God and heaven.
On the contrary, the poem I know That He Exists distinctly shows her uncertainty between her belief
and disbelief in God. (Dickinson 1262) The first stanza begins with a relatively strong declaration of
her faith. She knows that there is a God and that in some way, for whatever reasons, he has hid himself
from our gross eye (Dickinson 1262). In the second stanza, she insinuates that he plays game with us
just to gain our admiration for him. She starts to be troubled by this hide and seek game in the third
stanza. (Ferlazzo 32) She implies, between the middle of the third stanza and all of the fourth that if
there is no sort of deliverance after death, God would have just played a really wicked joke on all of
us.
Emerson, on the other hand, was a minister and pastor

The United States Dollar
Although they are such small slips of paper and lumps of metal, they are highly valued in the eyes of
society. In the United States and all around the world, money plays a powerful role in the lives of
many. Nevertheless, money comes in many different forms: the European euro, the Indian rupee, the
Chinese yuan, the Swiss franc, and the list continues on. Of course, in America, the United States
dollar is most often used. As a major form of currency, the United States dollar can be used to
purchase nearly anything as long as the buyer has enough of it. Ever since 1862, greenbacks have been
used as legal tender in this country ( From the Colonies ), but coins have been officially part of the
country s monetary system since the Coinage Act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Canada is an easy country to relate to because it borders America and has a similar currency system in
place. In Canada, each penny cost 1.6 cents to produce, which is very similar to America s situation
(Canada). However, in 2012, Canada decided to stop their production of their penny because they
were losing too much money on a coin that only few use anymore (Sommer). In fact, Canada reports
that they lost 11 million Canadian dollars each year due to its production (Canada). To adjust to this
sudden change, Canada looked at the plans of other countries who have also gotten rid of currency
that cost too much to produce, like Sweden and New Zealand

Moses Is A Hero s Journey Essay
There must be a strange feeling Moses experiences and I m sure he probably did feel inadequate to
this great task. Many of us would have questioned God in his choice. Look at Moses as he says that,
they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared
unto thee. Does this sound like something you may of been through, I have and I m sure you may of
you felt the same way also? Moses is like many of us, caught in our feelings and emotions and leaning
on them in a critical time in our life.
Exodus. 4:1 4 God proves something to Moses on that day as he said unto him, what is that in thine
hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast or throw it on the ground. And he threw it on the ground,
and it became ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand. This must be mined blowing
to say the least. Are you at this place mentality yet for a supernatural miracle?
The great thing is that Moses like many of us, needed a faith builder. We the Prophets of God, in this
generation are like our prophetic forefathers, we have our faith built by our afflictions and life drama
and we see that God proves himself in our lives daily. Prophets, God is still asking each one of us this
same question, What is in our hands? What will it take to make you believe that I m your God the
source of the supernatural?
Prophets, yes, we have the talents, the abilities, and even if we have material possessions, with a
limited knowledge of the Truth, please remember this. All things, that God has put in our hands have
been sanctified with the rod of God s authority through the begetting of the Holy Spirit.
This is a life changing principle and we need to embrace. This is something I highly encourage you to
never forget. Yes, it is life changing and supernatural. We may feel inadequate at times, and so
unworthy of this honor, just as the great Moses did. We know that in our own selves we come far short
of his glory, but this worked for Moses and will work for you and me. Let us begin today to embrace
it, right

I Attended The University Of Indianapolis Chamber...
I attended the University of Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble concert
on Thursday, October 8. The concert was located at the Ruth Lily Performance Hall in the Christel
DeHaan Fine Arts Center. The venue was calming and comfortable. It is a very nice set up, but not
extremely fancy. People arrived in anything ranging from suits and dresses to jeans and t shirts. The
environment was welcoming and approachable for all the guests. I was able to see almost all of the
parts of the stage and all the members of each group. Noise levels throughout the concert were very
low. The only thing that would ve have been nice is if they could have dimmed the audience lights to
create a better mood. The lights in the auditorium just seemed to be very bright at times. During the
Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble all the performers were wearing all black. I
imagine they did this for style and consistency. By wearing all the same color, it helps them look
professional and more uniform at the same time so people can pay attention to the music and not the
musicians choice of attire. Some women had slight sparkles or accents to their attire and some men
you could see the white of their suits but everything else was black which created an element of class
and elegance.
In the Chamber Orchestra the musicians were very dramatic in movement, especially the two
violinists that stood in front of the Orchestra. It seemed at times like they were having a conversation

Over the course of my study, I expect to find thorough definitions of the daily oppression in the lives

findings. At the moment, I am unsure of the role of racism in the lives of these individuals, yet I am
sure it plays an extensive role in the oppression these individuals feel and face. Theoretically I would
like to bring in many social theories, as mentioned in the introduction, to understand the construction

Blue Dress By Walter Mosby
Devil in A Blue Dress was originally a novel written by Walter Mosby in 1990 and then made into a
film in 1995. To begin this reflection I will start with my summary of the movie, and then comment on
the actors and how they compared to the books characters, then discuss how the movie compared to
the book, and lastly discuss how the movie fits into the noir/neo noir film category. The film s opening
credits feature a catchy jazz song and artwork from the era that helps set the setup the movie as to
when and where it is taking place
It then begins with a view of easy Rawlings sitting in his friend Joppy s bar. Easy is reading a paper in
hopes of finding a job, after he was unjustly fired from his job. An elegant dressed white man named
Dewitt Albright then enters the bar and has a conversation with Joppy, who then calls Easy over to the
pair. Mr. Albright is looking for someone to help him locate a missing woman named Daphne Monet.
Easy is not really an investigator but is desperate for many to pay his mortgage so he accepts the offer.
Easy learns that Daphne is said to be hiding out somewhere in the black community and frequents a
juke joint. Easy heads to this place she frequents and finds his friend Odell and a former co worker
Dupree and his girlfriend Coretta. After a long night of drinking Easy helps take Dupree home with
Coretta. After putting Dupree to bed, Easy and Coretta have some relations with each other and have a

A Study On Australian Indigenous Art
Another aspect of Australia is its art. There are many type of art present in Australia, but one in
particular is Australian Indigenous art, which is the oldest ongoing tradition of art in the world. Initial
forms of artistic Aboriginal expression were rock carvings, body painting and ground designs, which
date back more than 30,000 years. After Australia was colonized the sale of artifacts occurred between
indigenous and non indigenous people on a widespread basis throughout south eastern Australia. The
quality and variety of Australian Indigenous art produced today reflects the richness and diversity of
Indigenous culture and the distinct differences between tribes, such as languages, dialects and
geographic landscapes. Art is an important part of Aboriginal life because it connects past and present,
the people and the land, and the supernatural and reality. Indigenous art now ranges over different
mediums, from works on paper and canvas to fibre and glass, because of the introduction of these
sources to the Aborigines in 1970 by a school teacher. The result was a flourishing art movement
throughout the Western Desert that stimulated an arts industry that now generates around $200 million
a year nationally. This benefits Australia s economy and is one way they are involved globally.
Australia is a multi cultural society with its population of 22 million made up from heavy migration
from Europe, especially from Greece, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Yugoslavia, Lebanon,

Louisiana Purchase Dbq Analysis
During the early 1800s, the third president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, bought the
Louisiana Territory. This acquired piece of land came to be known as the Louisiana Purchase. The
territory consisted of various Native Indian tribes which Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark to explore.
Based on the provided documents, the conclusion that can be made is that Lewis and Clark were not
respectful to the Native Americans because not only did they kill members of their tribe, but they
wiped out their culture as a whole. In document A, Thomas Jefferson, the current President at the time,
sent a letter to Meriwether Lewis with specific instructions on how to approach the Native Indians
which was in a placatory and friendly fashion (Document A).

Raymond Carr Summit Events
Summit Event Essay The event that was held in Moody Coliseum, September 22, 2015, was
conducted by Raymond Carr, his sermon was over, Lost in Knowledge of Christ. He pulls from
Philippians 3:1 11, where Paul challenges us to lose our religion; and choose a relationship. Paul uses
two directives that lead to a right relationship with Christ. Raymond Carr first comments on how Paul
emphasizes the theme of joy. Carr tells us that Paul repeats this a couple of times. Paul emphasizes
that, whatever your circumstance, you should always rejoice in God s attributes and His provisions.
Paul continues by saying: To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for
you. Paul s frequent saying to rejoice during affliction, because if he continues to tell us this we can
work to rejoice and not forget it, or even cynical. Paul wants for the believer to stand strong in their
time of need, to be steady and secure in their faith as well. Carr hints at that the simple reason for
repetition is that: Words sink in over time. Truths need to be emphasized, impact, and retention. Carr
then goes to 3:2 6, where Paul explores the danger of religion and religious people. He warns about
the Judaizers, by saying, Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false
circumcision. Paul is warning the church to look over your shoulder because people in the church aren
t really what they say they are. Paul calls the Judaizers dogs. Dogs were not the cute

Speech Analysis
United States president Dwight D. Eisenhower Atoms for peace speech was delivered on December 8,
1953 (during the Cold War) to the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, due to the end
of World War II and the attacks of Hiroshima and Nagasaki the development of nuclear weapons were
rapidly increasing and therefore, destroying the nation. I will analyze this historical speech according
to the five cannons of rhetoric.
Invention:
Eisenhower s goal was to explain the necessity of using the way by which the miraculous
inventiveness of man shall not be dedicated to his death, but consecrated to his life. Using nuclear
technology for peace instead of destruction without intending to start a war but as a preventative
measure and a symbol of strength. Dwight D. Eisenhower says But the dread secret and the fearful
engines of atomic might are not ours alone applying pathos as his rhetorical strategy by using loaded
language and evoking emotions from his audience giving them knowledge that not only our allies, but
also our enemies, knew of the power of atomic ammunition. He uses hard evidence as well as logos to
gain credibility from his audience, by reminding them and providing evidence that on July 19, 1945,
the United States set off the world s first atomic explosion . This showed the importance of the
accomplishment in American history. The speech took place in the United Nations Headquarters in
New York City.

Not entering the uncoated bubble packaging market
Risks:
a. It may reduce the market share of Sealed Air Corporation if the uncoated bubble packaging gains a
lot of popularity.
b. The firm will not remain consistent with its current reputation of delivering products as per the
demands of the customer.
Rewards:
a. It will be able to maintain its high quality product company image.
My Recommendation Sealed Air Corporation should enter the uncoated bubble packaging market in
order to maintain its leadership position. Before going ahead with the strategy mentioned below,
Sealed Air should do some market surveys using tools like Customer scenario mapping to gauge
whether many customers are planning to switch to uncoated bubble packaging. The marketing effort
should be based on results of this survey.
Marketing Strategy: Sealed Air Corporation should go ahead with a counter attack strategy by using
its already strong distributor channel, manufacturing facilities and brand image. The 4P s marketing
strategy should be used.
Product: Having a complete product range will help Sealed Air retain its customers. However, it
should differentiate between the uncoated and coated bubble products in order to maintain the
premium brand image of AirCap. The company should market the product using its brand image and
use marketing strategies

The Nature of Vocanic Hazards
The nature of volcanic hazards is often classified by the violence of the explosion and thus is assigned
a number from the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI), for instance Icelandic and Hawaiian volcanoes
which erupt basaltic lava which has a low silica content and a basic chemical composition; it reaches a
maximum temperature of 2000 degrees Celsius and thus has low viscosity. Due to this, gases are
easily released and so the eruptions are non explosive, with a VEI of 0 1 A prime example of this form
is the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland which erupted in 2010, where during the fissure phase less
vicious basaltic lava effusively erupted onto the surface and flowed west it was also olivine rich.
However the explosive phase had a VEI of 4, hence classified as a large, violent eruption.
On the contrary, Vesuvian and Krakatoan forms have moderate yet explosive eruptions, they erupt
andesitic lava which has high silica content and an acidic chemical composition; gases do not escape
easily thus it is viscous so they build up to produce explosive eruptions with lower temperatures (max.
1000 degrees Celsius). Rhyolitic lava is similar, although it has lower temperatures at around 750
degrees. An example of an andesitic lava eruption is Soufriere Hills in Montserrat which has been
actively erupting since 1997. The eruption in 1997 achieved a VEI of 3 (which is significant
particularly due to the VEI being a logarithmic scale). Thus based on the nature of volcanic event

Facebook Case Analysis
Facebook (FB) has been dominating the social network industry since its birth in 2004. It was one of
the first social platforms that aimed to connect people all over the world together. FB has been
successful in establishing its competitive advantage relying in its network effect and its ability to catch
up with the competition.
As depicted on Figure II, FB has strength points that include: its long history and its access to global
markets over a short period of time, that enabled it to lock in a wide base of users that find it too costly
to switch to other networks that don t provide a strong motivation for switching especially that FB has
a strong ability for imitation and integration that led to a growing advertising revenue from different
advertisers that find FB to be a great source of data that they can use for segmentation and targeting.
FB weakness points are: its high dependency on advertising revenue, its high dependency on games
applications revenue and concentration of ownership in the hands of its founder, Mr. Zuckerberg, that
seems to be so innovative and successful. However, it is a reason why long term investors may worry
because there is no guarantee of the continuous of the long term success given a single control over a
public company. On the external trend, FB has an opportunity to increase its base of mobile users due
to the increase of people logging in on the go in comparison to computer users. FB has an opportunity

Introduction
Everyone loses pumping ability in their heart as they age. The serious case of heart failure develops
when other health conditions cause the heart to work harder or become damaged due to increased
stress. Heart failure is usually a chronic disease. It gradually tends to become worse. By the time
someone is diagnosed with it, the heart has most likely begun to lose pumping capacity for quits some
time. Nearly five million Americans are living with heart failure and 550,000 new cases are diagnosed
each year. This paper will discuss what heart failure is, and what nursing interventions may be of help
to patients who suffer from this disease. My grandmother was recently diagnosed with congestive ...

This excess fluid or congestion is where the term congestive heart failure comes from.
Right sided failure is often a result of left sided failure. When the left side fails, increased fluid
pressure develops in the lungs and damages the heart s right side. When pumping power is lost in the
right side, blood backs up in the veins causing swelling in the legs and ankles.
The heart tries to make up for loss of pumping capacity in three ways enlarging, developing more
muscle mass, and pumping faster. By enlarging, the heart contracts more strongly and pumps more
blood. When the contracting cells of the heart increase in size, an increase in muscle mass also occurs.
Pumping faster helps to increase the heart s output.
The body also does other things to help compensate for the loss in power in the heart. Blood vessels
narrow to keep the blood pressure up. The body diverts the majority of the blood to the heart and the
brain. Eventually the heart can t keep up and the person will suffer from fatigue, breathing problems
or various other symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, loss of appetite, nausea, confusion, or
increased heart rate. Factors such as smoking, being overweight, having a diet high in fat and
cholesterol, and not exercising can contribute to heart failure.
Background
After reviewing medical journals related to my topic, I discovered that many physicians and nurses
think that congestive heart failure is

Museum Of Mesoamerican Art
A large amount of historical information about Mesoamerica can be found online, many facts
researched by archaeologists can be located in museum databases though, some online information
may be easier to find and more readily available than other websites. The Chicago Field Museum
emphasizes more reliable, detailed online information about Mesoamerican art than the Peabody
Museum at Harvard University, while the Peabody Museum fails to present and explain straight
forward information on the cultural and religious aspects of Mesoamerica online. Both the Peabody
Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University and The Chicago Field Museum have
conducted excavations in multiple parts of Central America. The Peabody Museum s excavation ...

Psoriasis
Most of the time when a person is nervous or sad, they become sensitive when other people are aware
of these feelings and quickly try to learn to hide their emotions. Many ways you can determine this
nervousness is a person may breathe heavily, stumble on their words, and avoid eye contact during a
presentation. All of these may be true, but the most obvious factor of nervousness affects the body s
largest organ the skin. When a person blushes, it is easily exposed that the person is nervous. The
linkage between skin and psychology plays an important factor in life and may be the root of all acne,
eczema, trichotillomania. These days, dermatologists are much more accepting of the field now known
as psychodermatology, which addresses the interaction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a common dermatologic disorder that often goes undetected and untreated where the body does
not shed their excess skin cells, but instead the skin cells pile up on the surface of the skin, causing
thick red plaques covered with silvery scales. Psoriasis may look contagious, but it s not. When the
immune system functions properly, the system protects the body against any invaders that might make
you sick, such as bacteria, viruses or other pathogens. But in people with psoriasis, the immune
system goes into action even without these invaders. Instead, the immune system fights the body s
own tissues. Although it is a genetic condition, stress can have an impact on the immune system as
well and doctors have long suspected a link between stress and psoriasis. According to
Psychodermatology: A Guide to Understanding Common Psychocutaneous Disorders, stress has been
reported in 44% of patients prior to the initial flare of psoriasis, and recurrent flares have been
attributed to stress in up to 80% of individuals. Early onset psoriasis before age 40 may be more easily
triggered by stress than late onset disease, and patients who self report high levels of psychologic
stress may have more severe skin and joint

The Effects Of Climate Change On Earth Today Essay
Climate change otherwise known as global warming has been an ongoing issue for decades.
Beginning in the 19th century, climate change has increasingly affected Earth and its atmosphere.
Rising levels of carbon dioxide are warming the Earth s atmosphere, causing rising sea levels, melting
snow and ice, extreme fires and droughts, and intense rainfall and floods. Climate change has and will
continue to affect food production, availability of water, and can add to many health risks in humans
and animals. In fact, in an article by Justin Gillis titled, Scientists Warn of Perilous Climate Shift
Within Decades, Not Centuries he focuses on a paper written by a former NASA climate scientist,
James E. Hansen, explaining the effects of climate change on Earth today. Although many believe
Hansen s theories in the paper are quite far fetched, the author mentions, Despite any reservations they
might have about the new paper, virtually all climate scientists agree with Dr. Hansen s group that
society is not moving fast enough to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, posing grave risks (Gillis).
Gillis validates the fact that climate change has been rapidly expanding throughout Earth and society
has not been able to reduce it fast enough. Many negative risks are being posed and will continue to
mount if the issue of climate change is not taken seriously. Although climate change negatively affects
nearly all aspects of the Earth, it poses a big threat to agriculture and food production.

The Principle Of The Glandular Fever Test
1) What is the organism responsible for the occurrence of IM? What patient group is mainly affected?
The organism responsible for the occurrence of IM is the Epstein Barr virus (EBV). This virus belongs
to the Herpes group and was first identified in cultured cells from biopsies of Burkitt s Lymphoma.
The patient group that is mainly affected are 15 to 25 year olds. Infants and younger children have
been affected, but the virus is very rarely found in middle aged or elderly people.
2) Explain the principle of the glandular fever test.
A patient sample is added to an absorbent pad on the test strip which contains bovine erythrocyte
glycoprotein. The patient sample mobilises the blue microspheres that are contained in the test strip
and they move up the strip. The test strip contains a region of immobilised bovine erythrocyte
glycoprotein in the result window. If any IM heterophile antibodies are present in the specimen, then a
blue line should appear in the result window. The Clearview IM test strips used in the laboratory
provides an integrated control feature.
3) What is a heterophile antibody?
A heterophile antibody is an antibody produced in one species that reacts with the cells from another
unrelated species. These antibodies, which are IgM in nature, are not specific for sheep red cells but
also react with horse and ox, but NOT human, red cells.
4) What are atypical lymphocytes and how do they appear on: a) blood film, b) graphics plot?

gloves were tested for DNA results and containing Simpsons and both victims, but as results came in
the defense was not convinced, but could have been framed by Detective Mark Fuhrman, a racist cop

the article (O.J Simpson civil trial, 10/18/96), they found DNA genetically marking Simpson and ex

The Outdoor Gear Industry Has Steadily Over The Last Five...
Overview
The outdoor gear industry has been growing steadily over the last five to ten years. With research
increasingly showing the benefits of staying active and the detrimental effects of staying idle, people
in all age groups are increasingly turning to outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping and
even climbing. This industry is becoming increasingly competitive and has a habit of assimilating
smaller firms into larger ones. The top 4 companies own 76.5% of the market share, making this an
Oligopoly where a few firms control most of the market.
There are a few keys that tend to make companies successful. Knowledge of the product tends to be a
major factor in the success of these firms since people who are using their products are often putting
their lives at risk if the product breaks down. Knowing the right gear when people ask questions and
knowing exactly how the gear needs to work when designing a new piece is a key to building
customer loyalty and trust. The ability to alter your output of goods and services also plays into the
success of these firms. Companies need to be able to adjust, maybe selling more rain gear during a
rainy season or even seasonally adjusting to putting out skis and sleds rather than kayaks during the
winter. These firms also tend to specialize, appealing to niche markets is a good way to keep sales up
at least in one sector.
Current Competition
The outdoor industry is highly competitive with a lot of marketing going on constantly

Francois Marie de Voltaire was born in Paris to a wealthy family in 1694. He lived during the time of
the enlightenment, which was a period of new thinking using critical reason to free minds from
prejudice and unexamined authority. Later on in his life, Voltaire was a prisoner in the Bastille and
then exiled to England because of a duel with Chevalier de Rohan, an Aristocrat who found Voltaire s
name insulting. Throughout his life he has written both plays and books such as Zaire, Treatise on
Tolerance and Dictionnaire Philosophique (Gray, 13).
Voltaire believes that Law is a rational guide in an irrational world. This means that the purpose of
laws is to give the citizens a certain duty that must be fulfilled in order for society to function
properly. If this is to successfully work through laws then everything else should run by laws
including the Crown and Church that have very important duties. The entire state should be run on
duties that everyone must fairly fulfill. Therefore the state exists for the citizen (Gray, 45). The duties
are created to make things safer for the citizens. It is the obligation of the state to create these proper
laws and give them to the people for their own good. The state is to provide for the citizen and not the
other way around. This is why Voltaire says, The character of liberty lies in independence,

Importance Of Documentation In Nursing
Documentation, it is imperative in nursing. This is clear from Dion(2001)as referred to in Owen
(2005), where she expresses that precise records guarantees nature of training as well as shields the
nurse by giving proof of his or her professional capacity. However in an examination directed by the
Maryland Nursing Workforce Commission (2007) that nurses discover documentation an exercise in
futility. In this paper the essayist will examine the significance of nursing documentation in the
present human services setting. The significance of documentation Documentation, a vital method for
deciding the standard of care rendered to a patient to protect nursing action(nurse together,2010).This
concurs with the ANMCs competency standard 1.1 where it expresses that Practices as per enactment

documentation, medical caretakers can unmistakably portray the customer s present well being status
and what meditations ought to be done and if the intercessions that were completed profited the
customer. This concurs with a reference from Owen(2005) where it says that documentation ought to
give verifiable, present, far reaching and reliable data about the appraisal and care of the patient.

Why Is Shakespeare Relevant Today
Shakespeare is arguably the greatest playwriter that has lived and although he died more than four
hundred years ago he is able to live on through his plays and poems that continue to be performed
today. Shakespeare has a universal reach with his plays and works intended for any audience that are
entertaining but also include important lessons. There are arguments that his relevancy is no longer,
but perhaps with evidence provided people will be able to see his works are more relevant now than
ever. Without further study and only taking a Shakespearian play for face value there are already
characteristics that make his works so timeless. The setting, stories, and characters all seem familiar
when they are watched and sometimes the characters seem to reflect one s self. The story of Romeo
and Juliet, for example, is one of love and passion for two star crossed lovers who desire nothing more
than to be together. For some this may be an over romanticised fantasy, but others ... Show more

More than that is the language he uses as well as the words and phrases he created that are still being
used today. Studying Shakespearian works is not only about analyzing story elements or archetypal
patterns but also learning where language that is being used comes from. A history class teaches
students how people got to Canada and what historical events have affected the way life is today. In a
very similar way the study of Shakespeare is a history lesson on literature and vocabulary. Rather than
teaching how Canadian culture was developed it is teaching how the English language was further
developed. For some students there might be a feeling of disheartenment or hot bloodedness when
they arrive at the realization that these eventful plays must continue being studied but, in order to
understand the language they use that Shakespeare created they must look at how it is used and where
these terms came

Homosexuality In Briar Rose
In the United States it seems as though if something is taboo or misunderstood it is to be frowned
upon and looked down on. Many of our cultures have adopted these same ideas and notions toward
acts such as homosexuality, tattoos, or having a child outside of marriage. Also, many books have
been banned because of the information it has is misunderstood or not understood at all. The growth
of education and other facets of life can be increased with the acceptance of information that is
controversial. Controversial information and ideas should create dialogue, in which people can discuss
how it can best be applied. The reason people keep away from these types of discussions is because it
makes them uncomfortable and when a person finds themselves in an uncomfortable situation the first
thing they want to do is get away from it. The book, Briar Rose, by Jane Yolen is a novel that depicts
the story of Cinderella. In which the main character Becca tries to find her grandmothers history and
the story she has been telling them their entire life. Her grandmother never talked about her
experiences during the holocaust but she uses Cinderella s story to somewhat reveal her true story.
Homosexuality is also shown in the book with the character of Josef who was tortured during the Nazi
regime along with Becca s grandmother. Josef is helpful because he is able to reveal the life their
grandmother once had in Europe. The book of Briar Rose has been censored and ban from places

This marriage took place due to influences on the part of Catherine s father, King Ferdinand of Spain.
Ferdinand considered England to be a type of vassal state with Catherine as his ambassador.
As the new King, Henry VIII did not waste any time spending his inheritance on lavish living.
Gambling, fine clothes, and fine jewelry were just some of his vices. Shore states that it was during
these early years that Henry VIII confided in Cardinal Wolsey and Thomas More. Henry VIII and
Catherine were close. However, there friendship was supplanted by that of Wolsey barely a year after
Catherine became Queen. Wolsey was given authority within the realm, but the King did not always
agree with his decision which lead to tension and controversy in their relationship. This is mentioned
because it is the beginning of a pattern Henry VIII exhibited in his closest relationships. As initially
with Catherine, his relationships with both Anne Boleyn and Thomas Cromwell followed a similar
pattern. Each was someone Henry VIII had relied upon, but who later fell from favor in the mist of
political and social influences at court.
As King, Henry VIII was prideful personally and professionally. In order to compete on an
international scale and to exert his military influence, Henry VIII engaged in conflict with France.
These campaigns were more likely intended to inflate his self image in relation to the kings of both
France and Spain. Shore

Sidney Poitier is best known for being the first black actor to win an Academy Award in 1964 (

New York to pursue his dreams of theatre ( About ). Sidney Poitier not only grew up in a hard time for
black Americans, his introduction to life was extremely poverty stricken. Although his parents lived in

We decided to use both questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaires were constructed at Form
Four vocabulary level and lower to ensure that the respondents would be able to completely

Before distributing the data collection tools we spoke to the staff to determine which class bullying
cases were reported most often they said Form Four. We then did a survey in the form to find out who
has been bullied before to do stratified sampling. This was done this way because it would not have
been efficient and effective to give questionnaires to students who are not being bullied. To triangulate
the information that we were about to collect we decided to use interviews with the questionnaires.
This was to ensure that the information that was collected from the questionnaires were similar to
what was collected in the interview. A sample of the students who completed the questionnaires were
later interviewed. I would say that this part of the research mentioned is the most important as if it is
not done correctly the research can go in directions other than desired. If the research has no direction

Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man By James Joyce
Introduction
James Joyce (1882 1941) was an Irish novelist and poet, considered to be one of the most influential
writers in the modernist avant garde of the early 20th century. In his early twenties he emigrated
permanently to continental Europe, living in Trieste, Paris and Zurich. James Joyce is now known as
one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century. Even during his time, he was respected as one of
the best writers of his generation. Still, his works were so experimental that he was not read by the
general public and was often misunderstood even by his contemporary writers. His writing became
more and more hard on readers. A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man often confuses readers who
are not used to experimentation in form, but Ulysses and Finnegan s Wake are rarely read in their

are named as Stephen walks along them. Joyce s family s fortunes are represented in generally the
same way that Joyce experienced them in his life. It is a novel, not an autobiography, but the line
between those two genre is a thin one. It is therefore tempting to see all that Stephen thinks about art
as Joyce s own view of art. However, readers will sense Joyce, the writer s ironic distance from
Stephen, the fictional figure of the artist. A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is an example of a
Bildungsroman, a German term describing a story of the education and intellectual growth of a young
man. A story of an artist s development from childhood through

  • 3. Latin Aerobics This semester, I was excited to participate in Latin Aerobics. Previously, I lost seventy pounds the previous semester thanks to hard work, and fitness classes. My primary goal was to enjoy my goal weight, and get in shape for life while having fun; what better way to do it than a dance class? I now want to maintain a healthy weight that I earned at my years at American River College. When I first lost the weight, I panicked because I thought it meant permanently restricting my life to weight control portion containers, and a plate stacked with 90% vegetables. Although, I eat healthy, I no longer deprive myself of fun foods because I adopted a healthier mindset. Previously before my journey to health, I finished the Magic Bullet craze, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now, I am actively attempting to keep my body fat level in the healthy range. During the end of the Latin Aerobics, I noticed that I was no longer exhausted by workouts, and I no longer had breathing problems like the prior years Although I still cannot sprint a mile like my other classmates, I am fine with my gains. My results have been shocking after I changed my perspective, for example, I ran on my treadmill for twenty five minutes straight. My pace was snail like; however, I would have never dreamed of completing a slow twenty five minute jog previously. Although, there are people who can dance better, run faster, and lift more than me, I am prideful in my personal achievements. I began this fitness journey when I noticed my feet hurt after going to the mailbox. It also did not help that my family gained weight quite easily, and my family has a very alarming health history. Although, there are not any drug addictions, diabetes runs in the family. I resorted to Xylitol and Coconut sugars as a health prevention plan. My grandfathers died of heart attacks and hypertension, my great grandmother died from cancer, and my uncle died of a stroke. They all were overweight from poor eating habits. • 4. The Reflection Of Mirrors In Black Swan By Nina Sawyers A mirror only reflects who people have become on appearance, but whispers to the psyche of its audience to reveal who they desire to be in their fantasy. A mirror plays a rather important role in most of our mundane lives routinely used to fix erratic hair, oddly looking at ourselves brushing our teeth, and for some, correcting the red mountain flaws against the skin. To a ballerina a mirror represents a sense of alignment with one s body. To Nina Sawyers, perfecting her technique is important and the only way to fix her mistakes is if she turns her life upside down. Sawyers practices so often she starts to take notice of her evolution from childhood to adulthood through a mirror. Director Darren Aronofsky uses a technique that executes an important meaning specifically his arrangement of mirrors in the movie shows self reflection of the leading character. Obviously, a ballerina primarily uses mirrors to build and correct his/her weakness out of obsession and technique perfection. Which in Black Swan takes up nearly the entire movie, however it expands beyond our initial perception. Aronofsky uses the mirrors in a way so complex it shows the audience the internal struggles that Sawyer encounters in her household and in her career. Black Swan illustrates what Nina Sawyers, a devoted dancer, can do in order to achieve her wildest dreams on hardwork and dedication alone. Toma, the director of Swan Lake defines Nina as a beautiful, fearful, fragile , dancer. Sawyer is an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. comparing emerson and dickinson Essay Ralph Waldo Emerson and Emily Dickinson were two of America s most intriguing poets. They were both drawn to the transcendentalist movement which taught unison of creation, the righteousness of humanity, and the preeminence of insight over logic and reason (Woodberry 113). This movement also taught them to reject religious authority (Sherwood 66). By this declination of authority, they were able to express their individuality. It is through their acceptance of this individuality that will illustrate their ambiguities in their faith in God. Emily Dickinson was an intricate and contradictory figure who moved from a reverent faith in God to a deep suspicion of him in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first stanza she simply states that just because one can t see or have never seen something doesn t mean that it can t or doesn t exist. That being said, Dickinson then says that she has not ever spoken with God or visited heaven in the third pair of lines (Dickinson 1273). The final set of lines says that she is certain of the spot (Dickinson 1273). This second stanza clearly confirms that she is confident of her place in heaven. Dickinson believes in all of these things even though she hasn t observed any of them. (Benfey 25) This particular poem shows of her assurance of God and heaven. On the contrary, the poem I know That He Exists distinctly shows her uncertainty between her belief and disbelief in God. (Dickinson 1262) The first stanza begins with a relatively strong declaration of her faith. She knows that there is a God and that in some way, for whatever reasons, he has hid himself from our gross eye (Dickinson 1262). In the second stanza, she insinuates that he plays game with us just to gain our admiration for him. She starts to be troubled by this hide and seek game in the third stanza. (Ferlazzo 32) She implies, between the middle of the third stanza and all of the fourth that if there is no sort of deliverance after death, God would have just played a really wicked joke on all of us. In the United States and all around the world, money plays a powerful role in the lives of many. Nevertheless, money comes in many different forms: the European euro, the Indian rupee, the Chinese yuan, the Swiss franc, and the list continues on. Of course, in America, the United States dollar is most often used. As a major form of currency, the United States dollar can be used to purchase nearly anything as long as the buyer has enough of it. In Canada, each penny cost 1.6 cents to produce, which is very similar to America s situation (Canada). However, in 2012, Canada decided to stop their production of their penny because they were losing too much money on a coin that only few use anymore (Sommer). • 7. Moses Is A Hero s Journey Essay There must be a strange feeling Moses experiences and I m sure he probably did feel inadequate to this great task. Many of us would have questioned God in his choice. Look at Moses as he says that, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. Does this sound like something you may of been through, I have and I m sure you may of you felt the same way also? Moses is like many of us, caught in our feelings and emotions and leaning on them in a critical time in our life. Exodus. 4:1 4 God proves something to Moses on that day as he said unto him, what is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast or throw it on the ground. This must be mined blowing to say the least. Are you at this place mentality yet for a supernatural miracle? The great thing is that Moses like many of us, needed a faith builder. We the Prophets of God, in this generation are like our prophetic forefathers, we have our faith built by our afflictions and life drama and we see that God proves himself in our lives daily. Prophets, God is still asking each one of us this same question, What is in our hands? What will it take to make you believe that I m your God the source of the supernatural? Prophets, yes, we have the talents, the abilities, and even if we have material possessions, with a limited knowledge of the Truth, please remember this. All things, that God has put in our hands have been sanctified with the rod of God s authority through the begetting of the Holy Spirit. This is a life changing principle and we need to embrace. This is something I highly encourage you to never forget. Yes, it is life changing and supernatural. We may feel inadequate at times, and so unworthy of this honor, just as the great Moses did. We know that in our own selves we come far short of his glory, but this worked for Moses and will work for you and me. Let us begin today to embrace it, right ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. I Attended The University Of Indianapolis Chamber... I attended the University of Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble concert on Thursday, October 8. The concert was located at the Ruth Lily Performance Hall in the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center. The venue was calming and comfortable. It is a very nice set up, but not extremely fancy. People arrived in anything ranging from suits and dresses to jeans and t shirts. The environment was welcoming and approachable for all the guests. I was able to see almost all of the parts of the stage and all the members of each group. Noise levels throughout the concert were very low. The only thing that would ve have been nice is if they could have dimmed the audience lights to create a better mood. The lights in the auditorium just seemed to be very bright at times. During the Chamber Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensemble all the performers were wearing all black. I imagine they did this for style and consistency. By wearing all the same color, it helps them look professional and more uniform at the same time so people can pay attention to the music and not the musicians choice of attire. Some women had slight sparkles or accents to their attire and some men you could see the white of their suits but everything else was black which created an element of class and elegance. In the Chamber Orchestra the musicians were very dramatic in movement, especially the two violinists that stood in front of the Orchestra. It seemed at times like they were having a conversation ... I will then compare / contrast each experience with literature and other findings. At the moment, I am unsure of the role of racism in the lives of these individuals, yet I am sure it plays an extensive role in the oppression these individuals feel and face. Theoretically I would like to bring in many social theories, as mentioned in the introduction, to understand the construction of discrimination in perhaps of a way of epiphany as it is certainly a mechanism of society. • 11. Blue Dress By Walter Mosby Devil in A Blue Dress was originally a novel written by Walter Mosby in 1990 and then made into a film in 1995. To begin this reflection I will start with my summary of the movie, and then comment on the actors and how they compared to the books characters, then discuss how the movie compared to the book, and lastly discuss how the movie fits into the noir/neo noir film category. The film s opening credits feature a catchy jazz song and artwork from the era that helps set the setup the movie as to when and where it is taking place It then begins with a view of easy Rawlings sitting in his friend Joppy s bar. Easy is reading a paper in hopes of finding a job, after he was unjustly fired from his job. An elegant dressed white man named Dewitt Albright then enters the bar and has a conversation with Joppy, who then calls Easy over to the pair. • 12. A Study On Australian Indigenous Art Another aspect of Australia is its art. There are many type of art present in Australia, but one in particular is Australian Indigenous art, which is the oldest ongoing tradition of art in the world. Initial forms of artistic Aboriginal expression were rock carvings, body painting and ground designs, which date back more than 30,000 years. After Australia was colonized the sale of artifacts occurred between indigenous and non indigenous people on a widespread basis throughout south eastern Australia. The quality and variety of Australian Indigenous art produced today reflects the richness and diversity of Indigenous culture and the distinct differences between tribes, such as languages, dialects and geographic landscapes. Art is an important part of Aboriginal life because it connects past and present, the people and the land, and the supernatural and reality. Indigenous art now ranges over different mediums, from works on paper and canvas to fibre and glass, because of the introduction of these sources to the Aborigines in 1970 by a school teacher. The result was a flourishing art movement throughout the Western Desert that stimulated an arts industry that now generates around $200 million a year nationally. This benefits Australia s economy and is one way they are involved globally. Australia is a multi cultural society with its population of 22 million made up from heavy migration from Europe, especially from Greece, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Yugoslavia, Lebanon, ... • 14. Raymond Carr Summit Events Summit Event Essay The event that was held in Moody Coliseum, September 22, 2015, was conducted by Raymond Carr, his sermon was over, Lost in Knowledge of Christ. He pulls from Philippians 3:1 11, where Paul challenges us to lose our religion; and choose a relationship. Paul uses two directives that lead to a right relationship with Christ. Raymond Carr first comments on how Paul emphasizes the theme of joy. Carr tells us that Paul repeats this a couple of times. Paul emphasizes that, whatever your circumstance, you should always rejoice in God s attributes and His provisions. Paul continues by saying: To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you. Paul s frequent saying to rejoice during affliction, because if he continues to tell us this we can work to rejoice and not forget it, or even cynical. Paul wants for the believer to stand strong in their time of need, to be steady and secure in their faith as well. Carr hints at that the simple reason for repetition is that: Words sink in over time. Truths need to be emphasized, impact, and retention. Carr then goes to 3:2 6, where Paul explores the danger of religion and religious people. He warns about the Judaizers, by saying, Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision. Paul is warning the church to look over your shoulder because people in the church aren t really what they say they are. Paul calls the Judaizers dogs. Dogs were not the cute ... I will analyze this historical speech according to the five cannons of rhetoric. Invention: Eisenhower s goal was to explain the necessity of using the way by which the miraculous inventiveness of man shall not be dedicated to his death, but consecrated to his life. Using nuclear technology for peace instead of destruction without intending to start a war but as a preventative measure and a symbol of strength. Dwight D. Eisenhower says But the dread secret and the fearful engines of atomic might are not ours alone applying pathos as his rhetorical strategy by using loaded language and evoking emotions from his audience giving them knowledge that not only our allies, but also our enemies, knew of the power of atomic ammunition. He uses hard evidence as well as logos to gain credibility from his audience, by reminding them and providing evidence that on July 19, 1945, the United States set off the world s first atomic explosion . This showed the importance of the accomplishment in American history. The speech took place in the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Arrangement: Atoms for Peace ... • 20. The Nature of Vocanic Hazards The nature of volcanic hazards is often classified by the violence of the explosion and thus is assigned a number from the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI), for instance Icelandic and Hawaiian volcanoes which erupt basaltic lava which has a low silica content and a basic chemical composition; it reaches a maximum temperature of 2000 degrees Celsius and thus has low viscosity. Due to this, gases are easily released and so the eruptions are non explosive, with a VEI of 0 1 A prime example of this form is the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland which erupted in 2010, where during the fissure phase less vicious basaltic lava effusively erupted onto the surface and flowed west it was also olivine rich. However the explosive phase had a VEI of 4, hence classified as a large, violent eruption. On the contrary, Vesuvian and Krakatoan forms have moderate yet explosive eruptions, they erupt andesitic lava which has high silica content and an acidic chemical composition; gases do not escape easily thus it is viscous so they build up to produce explosive eruptions with lower temperatures (max. 1000 degrees Celsius). Rhyolitic lava is similar, although it has lower temperatures at around 750 degrees. An example of an andesitic lava eruption is Soufriere Hills in Montserrat which has been actively erupting since 1997. The eruption in 1997 achieved a VEI of 3 (which is significant particularly due to the VEI being a logarithmic scale). Thus based on the nature of volcanic event ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As depicted on Figure II, FB has strength points that include: its long history and its access to global markets over a short period of time, that enabled it to lock in a wide base of users that find it too costly to switch to other networks that don t provide a strong motivation for switching especially that FB has a strong ability for imitation and integration that led to a growing advertising revenue from different advertisers that find FB to be a great source of data that they can use for segmentation and targeting. FB weakness points are: its high dependency on advertising revenue, its high dependency on games applications revenue and concentration of ownership in the hands of its founder, Mr. Zuckerberg, that seems to be so innovative and successful. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This excess fluid or congestion is where the term congestive heart failure comes from. Right sided failure is often a result of left sided failure. When the left side fails, increased fluid pressure develops in the lungs and damages the heart s right side. When pumping power is lost in the right side, blood backs up in the veins causing swelling in the legs and ankles. The heart tries to make up for loss of pumping capacity in three ways enlarging, developing more muscle mass, and pumping faster. By enlarging, the heart contracts more strongly and pumps more blood. When the contracting cells of the heart increase in size, an increase in muscle mass also occurs. Pumping faster helps to increase the heart s output. The body also does other things to help compensate for the loss in power in the heart. Blood vessels narrow to keep the blood pressure up. The body diverts the majority of the blood to the heart and the brain. Eventually the heart can t keep up and the person will suffer from fatigue, breathing problems or various other symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, loss of appetite, nausea, confusion, or increased heart rate. Beginning in the 19th century, climate change has increasingly affected Earth and its atmosphere. Rising levels of carbon dioxide are warming the Earth s atmosphere, causing rising sea levels, melting snow and ice, extreme fires and droughts, and intense rainfall and floods. Climate change has and will continue to affect food production, availability of water, and can add to many health risks in humans and animals. In fact, in an article by Justin Gillis titled, Scientists Warn of Perilous Climate Shift Within Decades, Not Centuries he focuses on a paper written by a former NASA climate scientist, James E. Hansen, explaining the effects of climate change on Earth today. Although many believe Hansen s theories in the paper are quite far fetched, the author mentions, Despite any reservations they might have about the new paper, virtually all climate scientists agree with Dr. Hansen s group that society is not moving fast enough to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, posing grave risks (Gillis). Gillis validates the fact that climate change has been rapidly expanding throughout Earth and society has not been able to reduce it fast enough. Without further study and only taking a Shakespearian play for face value there are already characteristics that make his works so timeless. The setting, stories, and characters all seem familiar when they are watched and sometimes the characters seem to reflect one s self. The story of Romeo and Juliet, for example, is one of love and passion for two star crossed lovers who desire nothing more than to be together. For some this may be an over romanticised fantasy, but others ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More than that is the language he uses as well as the words and phrases he created that are still being used today. Studying Shakespearian works is not only about analyzing story elements or archetypal patterns but also learning where language that is being used comes from. A history class teaches students how people got to Canada and what historical events have affected the way life is today. In a very similar way the study of Shakespeare is a history lesson on literature and vocabulary. Rather than teaching how Canadian culture was developed it is teaching how the English language was further developed. For some students there might be a feeling of disheartenment or hot bloodedness when they arrive at the realization that these eventful plays must continue being studied but, in order to understand the language they use that Shakespeare created they must look at how it is used and where these terms came ... Many of our cultures have adopted these same ideas and notions toward acts such as homosexuality, tattoos, or having a child outside of marriage. Also, many books have been banned because of the information it has is misunderstood or not understood at all. The growth of education and other facets of life can be increased with the acceptance of information that is controversial. Controversial information and ideas should create dialogue, in which people can discuss how it can best be applied. The reason people keep away from these types of discussions is because it makes them uncomfortable and when a person finds themselves in an uncomfortable situation the first thing they want to do is get away from it. Ferdinand considered England to be a type of vassal state with Catherine as his ambassador. As the new King, Henry VIII did not waste any time spending his inheritance on lavish living. Gambling, fine clothes, and fine jewelry were just some of his vices. Shore states that it was during these early years that Henry VIII confided in Cardinal Wolsey and Thomas More. Henry VIII and Catherine were close. However, there friendship was supplanted by that of Wolsey barely a year after Catherine became Queen. Wolsey was given authority within the realm, but the King did not always agree with his decision which lead to tension and controversy in their relationship. This is mentioned because it is the beginning of a pattern Henry VIII exhibited in his closest relationships. As initially with Catherine, his relationships with both Anne Boleyn and Thomas Cromwell followed a similar pattern. Each was someone Henry VIII had relied upon, but who later fell from favor in the mist of political and social influences at court. As King, Henry VIII was prideful personally and professionally. In order to compete on an international scale and to exert his military influence, Henry VIII engaged in conflict with France. These campaigns were more likely intended to inflate his self image in relation to the kings of both France and Spain. Shore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Zen Cultural Stereotypes Most of the time when I am exploring a different environment, my coping skills used for this type of endeavor require me to be patient, open minded, and self aware. As expressed earlier, I had to leave my enclosed bubble and try something different from my normal routine, which in fact guided me to a new path of consciousness. My previous perceptions and stereotypes of the Zen culture was totally wrong. In my misguided illusion, I had envisioned a rigid and closed pseudo philosophy, limited to just Asian culture and martial arts; shrouded in mystery. I guess this was my first impression, especially since I grew up watching a lot of martial arts movies during the early 80 s (Kung Fu theater, channel 5). In fact, the only thing similar to ... The questionnaires were constructed at Form Four vocabulary level and lower to ensure that the respondents would be able to completely understand them. Also, we used the research questions to guide the construction of the questionnaires. Before distributing the data collection tools we spoke to the staff to determine which class bullying cases were reported most often they said Form Four. We then did a survey in the form to find out who has been bullied before to do stratified sampling. This was done this way because it would not have been efficient and effective to give questionnaires to students who are not being bullied. To triangulate the information that we were about to collect we decided to use interviews with the questionnaires. This was to ensure that the information that was collected from the questionnaires were similar to what was collected in the interview. A sample of the students who completed the questionnaires were later interviewed. I would say that this part of the research mentioned is the most important as if it is not done correctly the research can go in directions other than desired. If the research has no direction there would not be an effective action plan to help solve the problems or resolve the issue. Also, this is the stage of the research where data is ... • 42. Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man By James Joyce Introduction James Joyce (1882 1941) was an Irish novelist and poet, considered to be one of the most influential writers in the modernist avant garde of the early 20th century. In his early twenties he emigrated permanently to continental Europe, living in Trieste, Paris and Zurich. James Joyce is now known as one of the greatest writers of the twentieth century. Even during his time, he was respected as one of the best writers of his generation. Still, his works were so experimental that he was not read by the general public and was often misunderstood even by his contemporary writers. His writing became more and more hard on readers. Joyce s family s fortunes are represented in generally the same way that Joyce experienced them in his life. It is a novel, not an autobiography, but the line between those two genre is a thin one. It is therefore tempting to see all that Stephen thinks about art as Joyce s own view of art. However, readers will sense Joyce, the writer s ironic distance from Stephen, the fictional figure of the artist.
