Frank Serpico starts as a fresh young cop out on patrol. He excels to become an undercover police

Al Pacino plays a very convincing part as an honest NYPD agent trying to stay truthful while the
immoral behavior around him threatens to influence him otherwise. I loved the satire in one of the
beginning shots of the oath they are taking and what it should mean to them. The way the oath is
completely the opposite of what is actually happening in the department. Also, from the start of the
movie the cop starts to talk about how they let the restaurant owner get away with double parking so
they can get free meals all the way to the end of the movie where they extort money from worse
criminals, they show how the cops are corrupt on a daily basis and just looking to take what they can.
In the beginning Frank seems to be very close to his family and friends. They come to his gradation
and he goes to visit them somewhat regularly, towards the end of the movie he pushes everyone away
and you often see him just hanging out with his dog. I am sure this is done from the distrust of the
people around him and to keep himself and everyone else he cares for

Solution Of Plastic Pollution
Plastic pollution makes up the majority of pollution problems all over the world, on land and off land.
There are few solutions to fixing this pollution problem overall because of plastic properties. The
pollution in the ocean poses a great problem to marine ecosystems, and to the health of the human
population due to its durability. Over the years the consumption of plastic products has risen a
marginal amount making the issue of pollution even larger ( When the Mermaids Cry: The Great
Plastic Tide ). The pollution causes damage to the economy, environment, marine life, human health,
along with the global impact. If the plastic pollution problem does not decrease, or completely
disappear, then there will be great consequences in the oceans and on land. Plastic is a non
biodegradable material that is made to last forever, yet only about 50% of plastic products are used
once then thrown away. (Plastic Oceans Foundation). The world uses 300 million tons of plastic every
year for various uses, Plastic is cheap and incredibly versatile with properties that make it ideal for
many applications (Plastic Oceans Foundation). Every few seconds humans are producing about
20,000 plastic bottles and a million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute and the
number will jump another 20% by 2021, creating an environmental crisis some campaigners predict
will be as serious as climate change. (Laville, Sandra, and Matthew Taylor). With the way the world is

Japanese American Relocation Summary
References Ruth B. Vickers, Japanese American Relocation, X (Summer 1951) n.p. Summary The
Japanese American Relocation, authored by Dori Felice Moss, details the experiences within the
internment camps of Rohwer and Jerome in Arkansas. Japanese Americans had to leave their homes,
friends, personal belongings, and family to live in squalor, crowded conditions. Recollections were
accounted from those who were sent to an internment camp in which many stated that being labeled as
disloyal citizens was the most difficult thing during the relocation process. However, throughout the
process, those relocated were able to quickly adjust to life within the camp and attempt to maintain a
normal life. There was religious, editorial freedom, education, and visitors in camp which helped to
diminish the harsh internment barriers. The article describes similar themes that occurred during the
relocation of Indian tribes in which they were sent to reservations where they would then be more
easily controlled and monitored by the government. The Indians, as well as the Japanese Americans,
were perceived as cultural threats and were, therefore, subjected to forced segregation. Critique ...

Justice Bhagwati Case
CHAPTER I
TITLE Analysis of Judgment delivered by Justice Bhagwati on Fundamental rights.
INTRODUCTION
Justice Bahgwati served the supreme court of India and delivered a number of landmark judgment that
has given a new direction to fundamental rights. Mainly the combination of Article 14,19 and 21 is
rightly interpreted in the case of Maneka Gandhi v union of India. The case was brought in the
Supreme Court when the passport of Mrs. Maneka Gandhi was impounded and she was not allowed to
go abroad. In this case justice Bhagwati had given a new dimension to Right to life and personal
liberty and elaborated the concept of Personal liberty .

But in the case of ADM Jabalpur v Shivkant Shukla for which the chief justice apologized after 30
years and said if he were not agreed to the majority judgment the past and present of our country
would be different so this case would be discussed further and why justice Khanna dissented in this
case and why this case is always considered as a blot on Indian judiciary. The fundamental rights are
very important that are granted by the constitution against the arbitrariness of state and even though it
is evident that the judgment delivered in the famous ADM Jabalpur case was an erroneous judgment
and if that was not delivered the presentvIndia would be something else so whether in this case also do
the Judgments in different cases by Justice Bhagwati helped to widen the scope of justice delivery in
India?
The aim for carrying out this research work is to analyze the judgment of Justice Bhagwati on
fundamental rights and his contribution in this area ad how the concept of PIL has become prominent
through the case laws in India.

The Ancient And Modern Olympics
Have you ever wondered where the idea of the Olympics has started? The Ancient and Modern
Olympics are a turning point in history. The Olympics played a huge role in society, and was different
yet similar both in ancient times and modern time, but had stopped for a while, made a comeback, and
has started a breakthrough in the world of sports. Events like the Olympics brings each country
together all supporting each other. It combines passion with hard work and pride to compete in the
Olympics. Here is how the Olympics has evolved and made a breakthrough. First of all, during ancient
times the Olympics were different from what you see today. The first ancient Olympics dates back to

The first modern Olympics was held in Athens, Greece in 1896. There were 280 competitors from 13
nations. All competitors were male. Other than in Ancient Greece women were allowed to watch
because the male competitors were clothed. There were forty three events being competed in. The
events include track and field, gymnastics, swimming, wrestling, cycling, tennis, and weightlifting,
shooting and fencing. Judges are members of respective International Sports Federations, which are
non governmental organizations recognized by the International Olympic Committee for being in
charge of a sport on an international level. Later many sporting events were added and all people were
allowed to compete. The official symbol of the modern Games was made with a white background
and with five interlocking colored rings, representing the continents of North and South America,
Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia. The Winter Olympics debuted in 1924 and included such events as
figure skating, ice hockey, bobsledding and the biathlon. In the Modern Olympics wins get either a
gold medal (for 1st place), a bronze medal (for 2nd place), and a bronze medal (for 3rd place).
Athletes can get money for placing. Different countries offer different amounts of money to the
athletes, and the winnings actually vary greatly. Some countries, like the United Kingdom, don t offer
money to the medalist at all. However, in the United States of America Gold medal winners receive
$25,000 before taxes. Silver medal winners receive $15,000, and bronze winners receive $10,000. For
team sports like gymnastics, the winnings are not split among members each athlete receives the
winning amount. Eighty years later, when the 2004 Summer Olympics returned to Athens for the first
time in more than a century, nearly 11,000 athletes from a record 201 countries competed. In a gesture
that joined both ancient and modern Olympic traditions, the

Benefits Of Selling Organs
Selling your organs should be legal. Selling your organs could help with debt that many families suffer
with. Selling an organ could also help someone else get one while you are still getting something out
of it. Could make the amount of deaths go down from getting abducted and killed.
First selling organs could help a family with debt problems. Many families suffer with debt so they
could just sell their organs to help. Instead of taking out a loan and being in debt you could sell an
organ and help pay for the thing you wanted to buy. Cars and things like that cost around 30k for each
one but selling an organ such as a kidney gets you around 20k dollars which could definitely help put
forward some money towards what your trying to buy.

The Effects Of Psychotropic Medications On Children
Psychotropic medications are usually, and perhaps, overly prescribed as a first line treatment for a
range of psychiatric analyses in children in a diversity of clinical settings. A psychotropic drug
(psychopharmaceutical) is a chemical material that changes brain function and results in adjustments
in perception, mood, or consciousness. Consequently, these alterations often cause a bevy of side
effects that create significant harm to prescribed patients. The brain of a child is infinitely more
sensitive and susceptible to side effects from psychotropic drugs which makes their use even more
dangerous. Adding further fuel to the fire, as Kardish states, Children in the United States are on drugs
for longer and more often than kids in any other country (2015). Together with this dark truth, the over
abundant usage and steadily increasing inclination towards psychotropic therapy amongst health
professionals, is eliciting a dire and troubling situation that must be addressed by the medical horizon.
Many children are diagnosed for having ADHD at a young age. ADHD stands for Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder. It is usually diagnosed because kids are not able to sit still in class and pay
attention, they have to be doing something at all times. The youngest children in the class are much
more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD (Gulli, 2012). They are young and lack maturity and it is
misinterpreted for ADHD. Also, many children who are diagnosed for ADHD really just end

The Importance Of Qualitative Research
A general definition of research is the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources
in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions. Research is an important part of many people s
lives both personally and professionally. What kind of car to buy? What are the most recent therapies
to combat breast cancer? What is the best stock to invest in? Research needs to continually and
systematically be conducted for society to move forward. Qualitative research is one type of research
that encompasses a number of philosophical orientations and approaches. Early in the 20th century,
scientists, such as anthropologists and sociologists went out into the world to ask the questions of how
and why the societal and cultural world was the way that it was. Inquiry was done to better understand
social phenomenon. As time went on, different professional fields such as education, law, health, and
social work also embraced qualitative research. Today hundreds of books and journals exist on
qualitative research, as well as various strategies, paradigms, and methods for conducting such
research.
The definition and meaning of qualitative research is broad and complex. There have been
philosophical, historical and disciplinary influences on the emergence of qualitative research.
Basically, qualitative research is conducted to discover what type of meaning people have given to the
world. Researchers are interested in finding out how people are able to make

The Importance Of Inter-Professional And Inter-Agency...
The term inter professional and inter agency collaboration (IPIAC) was developed by Whittington et
al (2009) to convey the importance of collaboration at professional and agency level.
https://www.basw.co.uk/resources/tcsw/CG%20 %20Interprofessional%20collaboration.pdf This term
helps to identify how the services and professionals can work effectively together, including working
with service users and carers.
The PCF emphasises the importance of learning about inter professional work practice as it is essential
component of good social work practice.

IPIAC develops an integrated approach to the organisation and delivery of services reducing
inequalities and social exclusions, helping to reduce the barriers for working together (Quinne). There
are some examples of IPIAC such as Youth Offending Teams which are part of the local council and
work with the police, probation officers, health, housing and children services, schools and education
authorities, charities and the local community trying to help young people to stay away from crime.

Relationships In Pride And Prejudice
Marriage is often thought of as a union between two people; a promise that is supposed to last a life
time. In today s world, reality reigns. Marriage is often broken, or held together due to legality. A
promise does not mean the same as it did in yester year. Despite this ugly truth, young men and
women still dream of the time when they will say I do before their family and friends. However, often
times we as young people get mired in the process of finding a mate, rather than enjoying the
company of others. Whether it is for political or religious reasons, relationships have the potential to
get mucked up. Luckily for today s generation, one person has witnessed this, and wrote about this
process in her novels. This woman s name is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elizabeth continually allows for mishaps to happen, even rejecting the incredibly wealthy and
handsome Mr. Darcy. This seems to be Elizabeth s way of showing that she, as a woman, has a form
of power that men cannot take away; the power of saying no. Austen reveals this in chapter 34 when
Darcy declares his love for Elizabeth. How he does it, though, is peculiar. He proclaims his love
boisterously, yet in private with Elizabeth. Darcy tactfully reveals his feelings for her, hoping that she
will be moved and not falter now that they are alone. In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My
feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.
(Austen ch. 34) Here, Darcy vocally forces himself on her, believing that his passion will invoke a
flare within Elizabeth to say yes. Much to Darcy s disappointment, Elizabeth rejects him, only to
accept him later. I view her actions as being suitable for her circumstance. She rejects his offer,
because she does not passionately have feelings for him. She, later, accepts Darcy when she does in
fact have feelings for him. This is an empowering story for the women of Austen s time. Many readers
would ask why Austen would do this. I believe that Austen I empowering young women to stand for

Why Is Eczema Important
ECZEMAAND PROBIOTICS Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic allergic disorder
that mainly involves the skin (Sears 89). As reported in, The Allergy Book, of all the allergic
disorders...eczema is the most troublesome to treat (89). In addition, eczema care is much more than
skin deep; the whole body must be healthy to minimize eczema (Sears 98). Our immune system s
response to allergens is what causes millions of us to suffer from allergic disorders (Sears 3). In
addition, epidemiologic data showed that atopic children have a different intestinal flora from that of
healthy ones (Ozdemir par. 4). Researchers are beginning to link the introduction of probiotics as an
effective way to treat/or prevent eczema. Per Dr. Ozdemir, children who ... Show more content on

5). Probiotics are bacteria that are native to your digestive tract, which means, they are normally found
in healthy small and large intestines and can influence the mucosal barrier (the inner lining of the
digestive tract), which in turn can affect immune system functions (EczemaFree.org par. 2). Lack of a
sufficient mucosal barrier allows food and environmental antigens to cross over into the blood stream,
activating the immune system and leading to hyperactivity, which is the hallmark of eczema
conditions (par. 2). This is an example of how usage of probiotics can improve conditions within the
intestinal tract, and in turn reduce eczema symptoms. Unaltered probiotics such as Lactobacillus GG,
with its anti inflammatory powers, may help prevent the development of eczema and other allergic
disorders (Sachs 230). The first clue that gut bacteria could play a role in risk for developing eczema
came in the discovery that breastfed babies have a reduced incidence, prolonged onset and decreased
severity to eczema

The Issue Of Availability And Quality Of The Information...
4. Discuss the issue of availability and quality of the information that you base scenarios on.
In order for any scenario to be successful, the type of information used must be current, relevant and
reliable. If this is not the case then your scenario will not be effective at all, leading to a disastrous
event which might even proceed to an organisation losing a lot of money eventually closing down. So
carefully analysis of the type of information received and from which source is this information
received from must be considered.
When developing a scenario, a deep insightful research must be done in order to gather as much data
as possible; from this data serious analysis is done to scan the data and only taking that which is useful
(which now becomes useful information) in creating a scenario. The information needed here is
mostly about that relating to the future, so hence such information will be hard to find or come up
with. This is where the help of experts and external advisors comes to play, in order to verify the
information you have and also add into your information.
Companies usually have management information systems which they use to get the information need,
and in these management information systems there are feathers of scenarios built in, to make the
retrieval of information to be used in a scenario easier. Another way of getting the right type of
information for running scenarios would be through other applications such as spread sheets.

The Theoretical Basis Of Congestion Costs
2.2 Theoretical basis of congestion costs (diseconomies)
One by product of agglomeration is congestion, which arise as economic agents compete for limited
land, limited output markets, and limited fixed public infrastructure such as highways and
communication facilities. Other negative consequences of agglomeration such as environmental
pollution, noise, and high crime rates may also occur.
In general, congestion externalities originate from the difference between private and social costs. The
literature on optimal city size suggests that households and firms choose to locate in a city by
evaluating the prevailing average social costs (AC) such as local taxes or commuting/transport costs in
the city, but ignoring the increased social costs their arrivals generate for the whole urban population
(Alonso 1971; Richardson 1972; Mills and De Ferranti 1971). Therefore, the average social cost
would usually be lower than the marginal social cost (MC) born by the city as a whole (Alonso 1971;
Richardson 1972; Mills and De Ferranti 1971). Firms and residents would continue to move into the
city as long as marginal benefits, as represented by marginal value of outputs (MP) in the city, exceed
the marginal social cost plus the opportunity cost of moving (MP MC + opportunity cost for moving)
(Alonso 1971; Richardson 1972). The result is that cities would grow to a size that is more congested
than the optimal size for maximizing urban production, that size being the point where the

In an agreement there must be a meeting of the minds, which indicates mutual assent by both parties.
There is no meeting of the minds when one side (PepsiCo) is obviously joking.
Another issue, which was the case in court, is that John Leonard s understanding of this commercial as
an offer must also be rejected because the New York Court found out that no objective person (while
Mr. Leonard is a subjective person) could reasonably have concluded that the commercial actually
offered consumers a Harrier Jet. In a basic rule of contracts mentioned, that whether an offer has been
made depends on the objective reasonableness of the alleged offeree s belief that the advertisement or
solicitation was intended as an offer. Reasonable Person Standard based on common rules, and in
relation to society is an objective, so according to this standard if it is clear that an offer was not
serious, then no offer has been made.
In this case objective reasonable standard notes only how resonable persons behave, and what their
reaction. While seriousness determines whether, in our case commercial, is real and serious, and may
be perceived as an offer. As it was mentioned before, PepsiCo s commercial had no offer, and
advertising are not serious. Moreover the Court found this television commercial an absurd. Any
reasonable person can t take all the actions, that take place in this television commercial, and the plot,

These events prompted the plaintiffs to initiate the present proceedings on 20 June 2017.
2. Director Removal
It is necessary to determine when L was removed as director of SPG and SET to ascertain the validity
of the plaintiffs appointment as administrators. To establish L s time of removal, one must first
conclude whether the decision at the meeting took effect immediately, or if the subsequent messages
exchanged between M and L, and belated lodging with ASIC, suggest a later removal date.
Shareholders Meeting
The replaceable rule in s 203C provides that, in a proprietary company, a director may be removed and
another appointed at the same general meeting by resolution. In this event, there are no specific notice
requirements for the removal. However, as SPG and SET are sole shareholder companies, it is
necessary to use s 249B, which outlines the proceedings for resolutions of one member companies.
This section states that, when a company only has one shareholder, an ordinary resolution may be
passed if the appropriate documentation is recorded and signed, and subsequently lodged with ASIC if
necessary.
In the present case, these requirements were clearly satisfied for the removal of L, and subsequent
replacement by KM. This is displayed in the minutes recorded for the meeting and the signing of the
document by M and KM with relevant witnesses present. Moreover, the minutes were clear that the

Roman Republic And The Roman Empire
Roman Republic, one of the most famous republic in ancient time, established a form of government
comprising three main parts: a few magistrates, a Senate, and several assemblies. Roman Republic
was the period of ancient Roman civilization starting with the collapse of the Roman Kingdom in 509
BC, and ended in 27 BC with the founding of the Roman Empire. The government had representatives
selected by citizen and ended because of the civil war between powerful generals including Antony
and Brutus. The Roman Republic was established in 509 B.C. BC after overthrowing the Etruscan
kings. As democracy was getting started in Athens, the Roman aristocrats (the rich) wanted to get rid
of Etruscan kings so they can get more power. They needed the poor men to fight for them. So they
promised the poor men that they would be given power in the new government, if they can help get rid
of the Etruscan kings. The poor men decided to help, and together the king was threw out in 510 B.C.
But once the kings were out, the rich did not give the poor men what they had promised. So the poor
men protested and went on strike. The Roman aristocrats had to make a concession, and they let the
poor vote. People in Roman Republic voted for representatives who express their opinion like the way
United States does. But the only people who could be elected to the Roman Senate were the rich
people. Then the poor made the aristocrats agree that the poor men could also elect tribunes, who can

Relationship Between Romeo And Juliet Conflict Essay
Irreconcilable opposites prompt mental and physical experiences. Conflict from a literary perspective
is an inherent representation of one s incompatibility between objectives that is usually expressed
through an active disagreement between two or more characters or forces. This is usually
demonstrated through both internal or external means as it forms the essential element of the storyline.
This poses an obligation from the author, to introduce and develop conflict in order to achieve stability
or the story outcome. The feuding nature between the Montagues and Capulets in Shakespeare s
Romeo and Juliet truly demonstrates this conflicting struggle between opposing houses, family
members and individuals. In juxtaposing, parent and child, violence and peace and the profane and
sacred aspects, Shakespeare s acclaimed tragedy establishes the ancient grudge and elucidates that this
warring mentality ultimately leads the climatic deaths of protagonists Romeo and Juliet as they take
their life .

Persuasive Essay On Christmas Research Paper
The most collectively celebrated holiday of the year is undeniably December 25th, Christmas. Most
people acknowledge that the Christ in Christmas is representative of Jesus Christ, Son of God, and for
Christians, the day is set aside as a celebration of his birth. Many people in the United States (and
world) however, either do not believe in the Christian view of Christmas, have different non Christian
religious beliefs or celebrate for other reasons, if at all. Because of the multi cultural differences that
incorporate our country, Christmas should be declared by Congress as simply a Federal Holiday. This
would be achieved if the dominant Christ aspect from Christ mas was removed by renaming the
holiday to The Winter Holiday, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many secular traditions have been incorporated in America over the last 140 years including tree
decorating, exchanging cards and gifts, non religious Christmas songs, Santa Claus, twinkling lights,
among many other traditions. Some of these traditions were expanded from religious traditions for
example; gift giving is based on the belief that The Three Wise Men brought gifts to Jesus in the
manger. However commercialism has long owned this tradition and in fact, it has been widely
recognized that Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are necessary for getting the economy moving and
out of the red hence; Black Friday, the first day of the holiday shopping season. It is also true that
President Franklin D. Roosevelt moved Thanksgiving to the fourth Thursday of November in order to
extend the holiday shopping season for precisely this purpose.
Congress declared December 25th a federal holiday in the United States in 1870. President Ulysses S.
Grant signed the bill to enact Christmas along with 3 other holidays: New Year s, July 4th and
Thanksgiving as public holidays. Many people however believe that including Christmas with these
secular holidays was an error because back then Christmas only meant the celebration of Jesus birth,
which is construed by many as a conflict of the separation of church and state. The First Amendment
of our Constitution clearly states, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of

For anyone unfamiliar with computer errors, error 404 is a common error where the computer browser
connects to a server but does not find what it was asked to receive. The purpose of explaining this
error is to relate it to educative writings, specifically those aimed at educating about a culture. Content
that is aimed at shedding light on a culture falls on deaf ears if it cannot interest, connect to, and
enlighten the consumer of that content. In order to effectively educate, the pupil should be interested
in the material and find a connection to it. In Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi uses the comic genre to

They provide a static cohesive picture that illustrates through images and words the feeling of a
particular moment that cannot be done with solely an image or words. The appeal of Satrapi s story,
however, lies beyond the sole use of the comic medium. Satrapi, through using the comic book genre,
utilizes a distinctive and appealing visual medium that can accurately convey a message of
individuality, which is the key to connecting readers to this story. In Persepolis, Marji aims to become
her own person and establish an identity for herself despite the demanding influences around her.
Marji becomes relatable to the reader in this way because she struggles with finding this individuality.
Marji s relatability allows her a connection with the reader as finding one s sense of individuality is a
common struggle. Marji struggles to find what she believes in and how that shapes her as a person.
Persepolis at its core is a story of Marji maturing and establishing her own opinions. Maturity and
finding one s own individuality is very much something that a reader can connect to because it is a
part of life that everyone must go through. Each episode that Marji depicts shows her growth into
maturity and individuality, Engaging readers in the process of looking and seeing more clearly, Satrapi
illustrates how crucial it is for readers to look beyond the veil and recognize individuals (Allison, 83).

Critical Summary Safe Area Gorazde Essay
Abandonment and Neglect in Gorazde. In his Safe Area Gorazde Joe Sacco describes his experience
visiting a Muslim enclave during the Bosnian War of 1991 1995. Tragically, this work is based on
testimonies of residents of Gorazde, allegedly a UN protected area where Bosnian Muslims are able to
take refuge to avoid the ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Serbian army. Gorazde is anything but
protected which Sacco demonstrates throughout the book by ridiculing the UN and the US who are
able to and responsible for protecting the residents of such enclaves, but instead turn a blind eye to
what was going on. ...the U.N. extended safe area status to other Bosnian enclaves, including Gorazde.

The personal nature of the story is communicated through the author s experiences and by the people
of Gorazde themselves. Taking abandonment as an example, we follow Sacco as he travels down the
blue road which Bosnian Muslims cannot escape their suffering, the very same road which the UN
shares with Serbian ethnic cleansers. Here we have the international abandonment of the enclave.
Relayed to us by the people of Gorazde, is their abandonment of one another based on ethnicity.
Slightly more subtle is Sacco s constant communication of the senselessness of the abandonment
faced by Bosnian Muslims. In nearly every panel there is a sense of tragic absurdity to the whole
situation. We are invited by Sacco to feel as though we are abandoning the characters when Sacco
waives his blue card and leaves the Gorazde for the first time. Sacco tersely and pointedly expresses
the sentiment with, ...catch ya later! (65). This is a phrase that may have come naturally to Sacco but
also could have been designed with the majority of his reading audience in mind. The third level of
abandonment, which is central and speaks to the Bosnian conflict itself, is the abandonment of
community. Throughout the first portion of the work, Sacco takes care to repeat and emphasize
neighbors as a motif. This motif hits its first shocking climax in The First Attack . Sacco depicts the
first armed attack on the civilian population of Gorazde as

Factors That Affect Political Attitudes Of Voters
There is a wide range of factors that influenced people when they cast their secret votes on Election
Day. The main research question driven by our survey was to know the factors that shape political
attitudes of voters. One of the main political attitude that we are looking at in this research is party
affiliation. In order to figure this out, out survey has been grounded around three mains theories. The
three main theories that we tested in our survey was about the tendency of certain demographic group
to support particular parties, the influence of childhood environment on party identification and the
myth of independents voters. The first theory discussed had been discussed in the Chapter 7 Party
Coalition and Party Change shows how races, age, educational background and demographic location
have influence party coalitions. According to that theory, young, women, and racial minorities tend to
affiliate themselves with democrats whereas healthy white, evangelical white programs tend to
affiliate themselves with republicans. The second theory in the chapter 6 about Party identification
identifies how family, relative, and many others religious group influence party affiliation. According
to this theory, children tend to grow up and vote the way their parents do. Therefore, families have the
first and the most lasting influence on young people s developing political opinions. As this children

as iconic dogs their whole lives such as Petey from the Little Rascals movie and countless famous war
dogs. But after the media started to get stories of people conducting dog fights with Pit Bulls they are
automatically the most aggressive dog on the earth. These animals don t get to choose if they want to
fight or not, it is about survival when any dog is thrown into that situation. The people running them
gamble a lot of money into these fights and when a dog loses, if the other dog hasn t killed the owners
most likely will. It is no way to treat an animal and is enough to turn any dog of any breed or any
person for that matter into a monster. But, just because of these unfortunate stories, all Pit Bulls are
automatically considered dangerous. There are Pit Bull advocates out there that are trying to show the
world that they are amazing and loving pets, but all that effort gets kicked under the rug after an
irresponsible owner who neglects and poorly trains their dog, gets out and bites another dog or person,
all effort is lost and the media is all over it again expressing how dangerous this breed is, just because
of one irresponsible owner. This is a problem because this breed of dogs is being penalized and put
down for the actions of careless humans. If this continues to happen and they ban all Pit Bulls, who s

Cap And Trade Vs Carbon Tax Essay
1. This is the third class I have taken where we have discussed cap trade vs. carbon tax. I believe both
systems have their merits and utilizing either one would positively affect climate change and the
economy. I believe carbon taxes are the better of the two options because it is simple and immediately
causes companies and individuals of ways to reduce fuel and energy consumption. Simply put the less
fossil fuel used the less the tax affects the company or individual. Secondly money collected in taxes
should be based right back to the businesses and individuals in the form of tax breaks and rebates.
This will spark growth in the economy. Cap and Trade on the other hand set a predictable carbon
dioxide levels and rewards companies for being beneath those limits by allowing them to sell their
their unused allotment of carbon credits. Companies that have been able to meet their required levels
can in turn by these extra allotments and in turn by themselves more time to develop new ways to
reach the predetermined goal. This later system spars free trade and will have the overall affect of
reducing carbon emissions however I believe it creates less of an initiative for bigger more lucrative
companies to reduce carbon emissions and just gives them a way to buy themselves a way to continue
to pollute above acceptable standards.

Ethnical Values In American Culture
American ethnical values are built upon the respect for the dignity of every human life, the hunger for
discovery, the ability to maintain harmony with others and nature, establishing a government built for
the people, and ran by the people. These ethnical values have been the basis for American culture
since the beginning and they continue to make an impact and grow in today s society. The Iroquois
Indians had a very open and accepting democratic society that involved everyone, including the

be good enough for God and therefore are damned to hell (Edwards 120). The Puritans would exile
anybody who disagreed or was different because they didn t want that to influence their culture. This
shows that the Puritans were a shallow people, who only cared for themselves and for their own good.
Women were treated more like objects in this society because all they were used for in the Puritan
society was making babies and cooking food. On the Iroquois side of things, their culture was built
upon respect, whether this was for the earth or for people. The Iroquois considered each lord in the

The purpose of this paper is to identify and discuss various image problems or publicity needs within a
company through their specific Public Relations Campaigns. Through the study and research of this

Ezra-Nehemiah
The inspiration for Bede s reform program comes from a pattern that can be found in the book of Ezra
Nehemiah which can be conveniently divided into three sections. Each of these sections deals with a
similar situation and issues: a return from exile which includes projects of restoration and reform.
Today modern English translations of the Bible print the text of Ezra Nehemiah as two distinct books.
By having Ezra and Nehemiah as separate books was not always the way in which these texts were
written; they were traditionally combined into one book in the Hebrew and Greek Bibles. However, by
considering them as one document, it will help to make it much easier to understand the book in its
three parts. The first portion of Ezra Nehemiah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bede begins by levelling a list of grievances that he has regarding the state of the episcopate in
Northumbria. According to him, the bishops were neglecting their duties such as preaching, teaching,
visitations, and confirmation. There was also a general decline in the moral behaviour of bishops.
Bede mentions this in his letter when he writes that they are given to laughter, jokes, idle tales,
feasting and drunkenness and other attractions of a loose way of life. Bishops would typically only
preach if they received money for it, which led to a spiritual impoverishment for the laity. The
laypeople lacked adequate instruction in the faith not only because of the waywardness of bishops but
also because there were not enough priests to give a good example to the laity to imitate. Another
abuse that Bede objects to is the unjust taxation of the lay faithful and any other forms of clerical
avarice. Many remote farms, hamlets, and small villages were neglected by their bishop; they were
still, however, expected to pay their ecclesial taxes. Bede also mentions that there simply are not
enough dioceses in Northumbria, which would help to resolve the laity s lack of spiritual education.
The reason why bishops were opposed to the creation of new sees is that larger dioceses...

from the Civil War was a staggering six hundred and twenty thousand American soldiers. Although
there are many explanations as to why the Civil War was so murderous, such as disease or lack of
medical advancements, the main reason why it was so deadly was because of the newly introduced

When the Civil War broke out in 1861, the majority of the U.S. Navy supported the Union. This left
the Confederates with little naval strength. At this time, all naval ships were made out of wood, so in
order to give themselves more of an advantage over the Union, the Confederates began to assemble
ironclads or purchase ironclads from other countries. In response, the Union began to manufacture
ironclad warships as well. Once both sides developed their ironclad warships, they were used
significantly and were extremely successful in battle. The first battle that ironclads were used in was
the Battle of Hampton Roads, which lasted for two days. Mark Weaver writes that after Virginia ceded
from the Union in 1861, the Union navy placed a blockade on Hampton Roads. In response, the
Confederate Navy sent the CSS Virginia, an ironclad warship, to destroy the blockade. When the
Union Navy heard this, they sent out their ironclad warship, the USS Monitor. However, the CSS
Virginia arrived before the USS Monitor and therefore, many Union wooden battleships defending the

Mary Rowlandson And Benjamin Franklin
Every colonist that came to America had their own perceptions of its inhabitants. The majority of
these people believed the Native Americans were savages because their culture differed from the
colonists. To the colonists, everything needed to be proper. The way they dressed, whether or not they
went to church, or how they raised their children needed to be up to code. If not, their fellow colonists
looked differently at them. The natives were entirely different. Their goal was simply to survive, and
they were conducting survival the best way they knew how to. The differences between the two
cultures led to many severe problems. Mary Rowlandson and Benjamin Franklin had two entirely
different views of the Native Americans, based upon their encounters with them.
Mary Rowlandson believed the Native Americans were savage, blood thirsty creatures that were either
going to kill or be killed. In her story, she supports her claim by using vivid imagery of a major event
that took place during her lifetime. A very interesting quote from Rowlandson s literature is It is a
solemn sight to see so many Christians lying in their blood, some here, and some there, like a
company of sheep torn by wolves, all of them stripped naked by a company of hell hounds, roaring,
singing, ranting, and insulting, as if they would have torn our very hearts out (Rowlandson). This
quote uses an incredible amount of imagery and allows the reader to see just how Rowlandson feels
about the natives.

  • 2. Frank Serpico Frank Serpico starts as a fresh young cop out on patrol. He excels to become an undercover police officer busting drug deals and other gangsters. His partners try to share some of the money that they extort from the local criminals and he refuses. He then tries to take action against the other dirty cops but his superiors do nothing and just turn a blind eye. Realizing how corrupt the department is Serpico continues to try to find someone who will listen and hold everyone accountable while his partners try to bring him down for snitching. They repeatedly put him in danger hoping to get rid of him. He is eventually shot by a drug dealer, after being transferred to the Narcotics squad because he gets no back up from his partners when in trouble. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Al Pacino plays a very convincing part as an honest NYPD agent trying to stay truthful while the immoral behavior around him threatens to influence him otherwise. I loved the satire in one of the beginning shots of the oath they are taking and what it should mean to them. The way the oath is completely the opposite of what is actually happening in the department. Also, from the start of the movie the cop starts to talk about how they let the restaurant owner get away with double parking so they can get free meals all the way to the end of the movie where they extort money from worse criminals, they show how the cops are corrupt on a daily basis and just looking to take what they can. In the beginning Frank seems to be very close to his family and friends. They come to his gradation and he goes to visit them somewhat regularly, towards the end of the movie he pushes everyone away and you often see him just hanging out with his dog. I am sure this is done from the distrust of the people around him and to keep himself and everyone else he cares for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are few solutions to fixing this pollution problem overall because of plastic properties. The pollution in the ocean poses a great problem to marine ecosystems, and to the health of the human population due to its durability. Over the years the consumption of plastic products has risen a marginal amount making the issue of pollution even larger ( When the Mermaids Cry: The Great Plastic Tide ). The pollution causes damage to the economy, environment, marine life, human health, along with the global impact. If the plastic pollution problem does not decrease, or completely disappear, then there will be great consequences in the oceans and on land. Plastic is a non biodegradable material that is made to last forever, yet only about 50% of plastic products are used once then thrown away. (Plastic Oceans Foundation). The world uses 300 million tons of plastic every year for various uses, Plastic is cheap and incredibly versatile with properties that make it ideal for many applications (Plastic Oceans Foundation). Every few seconds humans are producing about 20,000 plastic bottles and a million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute and the number will jump another 20% by 2021, creating an environmental crisis some campaigners predict will be as serious as climate change. • 4. Japanese American Relocation Summary References Ruth B. Vickers, Japanese American Relocation, X (Summer 1951) n.p. Summary The Japanese American Relocation, authored by Dori Felice Moss, details the experiences within the internment camps of Rohwer and Jerome in Arkansas. Japanese Americans had to leave their homes, friends, personal belongings, and family to live in squalor, crowded conditions. Recollections were accounted from those who were sent to an internment camp in which many stated that being labeled as disloyal citizens was the most difficult thing during the relocation process. However, throughout the process, those relocated were able to quickly adjust to life within the camp and attempt to maintain a normal life. There was religious, editorial freedom, education, and visitors in camp which helped to diminish the harsh internment barriers. The article describes similar themes that occurred during the relocation of Indian tribes in which they were sent to reservations where they would then be more easily controlled and monitored by the government. The Indians, as well as the Japanese Americans, were perceived as cultural threats and were, therefore, subjected to forced segregation. Critique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The official symbol of the modern Games was made with a white background and with five interlocking colored rings, representing the continents of North and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia. The Winter Olympics debuted in 1924 and included such events as figure skating, ice hockey, bobsledding and the biathlon. In the Modern Olympics wins get either a gold medal (for 1st place), a bronze medal (for 2nd place), and a bronze medal (for 3rd place). Athletes can get money for placing. Different countries offer different amounts of money to the athletes, and the winnings actually vary greatly. Some countries, like the United Kingdom, don t offer money to the medalist at all. However, in the United States of America Gold medal winners receive $25,000 before taxes. Silver medal winners receive $15,000, and bronze winners receive $10,000. For team sports like gymnastics, the winnings are not split among members each athlete receives the winning amount. The Effects Of Psychotropic Medications On Children Psychotropic medications are usually, and perhaps, overly prescribed as a first line treatment for a range of psychiatric analyses in children in a diversity of clinical settings. A psychotropic drug (psychopharmaceutical) is a chemical material that changes brain function and results in adjustments in perception, mood, or consciousness. Consequently, these alterations often cause a bevy of side effects that create significant harm to prescribed patients. The brain of a child is infinitely more sensitive and susceptible to side effects from psychotropic drugs which makes their use even more dangerous. Adding further fuel to the fire, as Kardish states, Children in the United States are on drugs for longer and more often than kids in any other country (2015). Together with this dark truth, the over abundant usage and steadily increasing inclination towards psychotropic therapy amongst health professionals, is eliciting a dire and troubling situation that must be addressed by the medical horizon. Many children are diagnosed for having ADHD at a young age. ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It is usually diagnosed because kids are not able to sit still in class and pay attention, they have to be doing something at all times. The youngest children in the class are much more likely to be diagnosed with ADHD (Gulli, 2012). They are young and lack maturity and it is misinterpreted for ADHD. What is the best stock to invest in? Research needs to continually and systematically be conducted for society to move forward. Qualitative research is one type of research that encompasses a number of philosophical orientations and approaches. Early in the 20th century, scientists, such as anthropologists and sociologists went out into the world to ask the questions of how and why the societal and cultural world was the way that it was. Inquiry was done to better understand social phenomenon. As time went on, different professional fields such as education, law, health, and social work also embraced qualitative research. Today hundreds of books and journals exist on qualitative research, as well as various strategies, paradigms, and methods for conducting such research. This seems to be Elizabeth s way of showing that she, as a woman, has a form of power that men cannot take away; the power of saying no. Austen reveals this in chapter 34 when Darcy declares his love for Elizabeth. How he does it, though, is peculiar. He proclaims his love boisterously, yet in private with Elizabeth. Darcy tactfully reveals his feelings for her, hoping that she will be moved and not falter now that they are alone. In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. Lack of a sufficient mucosal barrier allows food and environmental antigens to cross over into the blood stream, activating the immune system and leading to hyperactivity, which is the hallmark of eczema conditions (par. 2). • 14. The Theoretical Basis Of Congestion Costs 2.2 Theoretical basis of congestion costs (diseconomies) One by product of agglomeration is congestion, which arise as economic agents compete for limited land, limited output markets, and limited fixed public infrastructure such as highways and communication facilities. Other negative consequences of agglomeration such as environmental pollution, noise, and high crime rates may also occur. In general, congestion externalities originate from the difference between private and social costs. The literature on optimal city size suggests that households and firms choose to locate in a city by evaluating the prevailing average social costs (AC) such as local taxes or commuting/transport costs in the city, but ignoring the increased social costs their arrivals generate for the whole urban population (Alonso 1971; Richardson 1972; Mills and De Ferranti 1971). Therefore, the average social cost would usually be lower than the marginal social cost (MC) born by the city as a whole (Alonso 1971; Richardson 1972; Mills and De Ferranti 1971). Firms and residents would continue to move into the city as long as marginal benefits, as represented by marginal value of outputs (MP) in the city, exceed the marginal social cost plus the opportunity cost of moving (MP MC + opportunity cost for moving) (Alonso 1971; Richardson 1972). The result is that cities would grow to a size that is more congested than the optimal size for maximizing urban production, that size being the point where the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For Anyone Unfamiliar With Computer Errors, Error 404 Is For anyone unfamiliar with computer errors, error 404 is a common error where the computer browser connects to a server but does not find what it was asked to receive. The purpose of explaining this error is to relate it to educative writings, specifically those aimed at educating about a culture. Content that is aimed at shedding light on a culture falls on deaf ears if it cannot interest, connect to, and enlighten the consumer of that content. In order to effectively educate, the pupil should be interested in the material and find a connection to it. The appeal of Satrapi s story, however, lies beyond the sole use of the comic medium. Satrapi, through using the comic book genre, utilizes a distinctive and appealing visual medium that can accurately convey a message of individuality, which is the key to connecting readers to this story. In Persepolis, Marji aims to become her own person and establish an identity for herself despite the demanding influences around her. Marji becomes relatable to the reader in this way because she struggles with finding this individuality. • 28. Critical Summary Safe Area Gorazde Essay Abandonment and Neglect in Gorazde. In his Safe Area Gorazde Joe Sacco describes his experience visiting a Muslim enclave during the Bosnian War of 1991 1995. Tragically, this work is based on testimonies of residents of Gorazde, allegedly a UN protected area where Bosnian Muslims are able to take refuge to avoid the ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Serbian army. Gorazde is anything but protected which Sacco demonstrates throughout the book by ridiculing the UN and the US who are able to and responsible for protecting the residents of such enclaves, but instead turn a blind eye to what was going on. ...the U.N. extended safe area status to other Bosnian enclaves, including Gorazde. The personal nature of the story is communicated through the author s experiences and by the people of Gorazde themselves. Taking abandonment as an example, we follow Sacco as he travels down the blue road which Bosnian Muslims cannot escape their suffering, the very same road which the UN shares with Serbian ethnic cleansers. Here we have the international abandonment of the enclave. Relayed to us by the people of Gorazde, is their abandonment of one another based on ethnicity. Slightly more subtle is Sacco s constant communication of the senselessness of the abandonment faced by Bosnian Muslims. In nearly every panel there is a sense of tragic absurdity to the whole situation. We are invited by Sacco to feel as though we are abandoning the characters when Sacco waives his blue card and leaves the Gorazde for the first time. Sacco tersely and pointedly expresses the sentiment with, ...catch ya later! (65). This is a phrase that may have come naturally to Sacco but also could have been designed with the majority of his reading audience in mind. The third level of abandonment, which is central and speaks to the Bosnian conflict itself, is the abandonment of community. Throughout the first portion of the work, Sacco takes care to repeat and emphasize neighbors as a motif. This motif hits its first shocking climax in The First Attack . Sacco depicts the first armed attack on the civilian population of Gorazde as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Factors That Affect Political Attitudes Of Voters There is a wide range of factors that influenced people when they cast their secret votes on Election Day. The main research question driven by our survey was to know the factors that shape political attitudes of voters. One of the main political attitude that we are looking at in this research is party affiliation. In order to figure this out, out survey has been grounded around three mains theories. The three main theories that we tested in our survey was about the tendency of certain demographic group to support particular parties, the influence of childhood environment on party identification and the myth of independents voters. The first theory discussed had been discussed in the Chapter 7 Party Coalition and Party Change shows how races, age, educational background and demographic location have influence party coalitions. According to that theory, young, women, and racial minorities tend to affiliate themselves with democrats whereas healthy white, evangelical white programs tend to affiliate themselves with republicans. The second theory in the chapter 6 about Party identification identifies how family, relative, and many others religious group influence party affiliation. According to this theory, children tend to grow up and vote the way their parents do. Therefore, families have the first and the most lasting influence on young people s developing political opinions. These animals don t get to choose if they want to fight or not, it is about survival when any dog is thrown into that situation. The people running them gamble a lot of money into these fights and when a dog loses, if the other dog hasn t killed the owners most likely will. • 31. Cap And Trade Vs Carbon Tax Essay 1. This is the third class I have taken where we have discussed cap trade vs. carbon tax. I believe both systems have their merits and utilizing either one would positively affect climate change and the economy. I believe carbon taxes are the better of the two options because it is simple and immediately causes companies and individuals of ways to reduce fuel and energy consumption. Simply put the less fossil fuel used the less the tax affects the company or individual. Secondly money collected in taxes should be based right back to the businesses and individuals in the form of tax breaks and rebates. This will spark growth in the economy. Cap and Trade on the other hand set a predictable carbon dioxide levels and rewards companies for being beneath those limits by allowing them to sell their their unused allotment of carbon credits. Companies that have been able to meet their required levels can in turn by these extra allotments and in turn by themselves more time to develop new ways to reach the predetermined goal. This later system spars free trade and will have the overall affect of reducing carbon emissions however I believe it creates less of an initiative for bigger more lucrative companies to reduce carbon emissions and just gives them a way to buy themselves a way to continue to pollute above acceptable standards. 2. ... • 36. Ezra-Nehemiah The inspiration for Bede s reform program comes from a pattern that can be found in the book of Ezra Nehemiah which can be conveniently divided into three sections. Each of these sections deals with a similar situation and issues: a return from exile which includes projects of restoration and reform. Today modern English translations of the Bible print the text of Ezra Nehemiah as two distinct books. By having Ezra and Nehemiah as separate books was not always the way in which these texts were written; they were traditionally combined into one book in the Hebrew and Greek Bibles. However, by considering them as one document, it will help to make it much easier to understand the book in its three parts. The first portion of Ezra Nehemiah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bede begins by levelling a list of grievances that he has regarding the state of the episcopate in Northumbria. According to him, the bishops were neglecting their duties such as preaching, teaching, visitations, and confirmation. There was also a general decline in the moral behaviour of bishops. Bede mentions this in his letter when he writes that they are given to laughter, jokes, idle tales, feasting and drunkenness and other attractions of a loose way of life. Bishops would typically only preach if they received money for it, which led to a spiritual impoverishment for the laity. The laypeople lacked adequate instruction in the faith not only because of the waywardness of bishops but also because there were not enough priests to give a good example to the laity to imitate. Another abuse that Bede objects to is the unjust taxation of the lay faithful and any other forms of clerical avarice. Many remote farms, hamlets, and small villages were neglected by their bishop; they were still, however, expected to pay their ecclesial taxes. Bede also mentions that there simply are not enough dioceses in Northumbria, which would help to resolve the laity s lack of spiritual education. The number of casualties resulting from the Civil War was a staggering six hundred and twenty thousand American soldiers. Although there are many explanations as to why the Civil War was so murderous, such as disease or lack of medical advancements, the main reason why it was so deadly was because of the newly introduced technology and weaponry. At this time, all naval ships were made out of wood, so in order to give themselves more of an advantage over the Union, the Confederates began to assemble ironclads or purchase ironclads from other countries. In response, the Union began to manufacture ironclad warships as well. Once both sides developed their ironclad warships, they were used significantly and were extremely successful in battle. The first battle that ironclads were used in was the Battle of Hampton Roads, which lasted for two days. Mark Weaver writes that after Virginia ceded from the Union in 1861, the Union navy placed a blockade on Hampton Roads. In response, the Confederate Navy sent the CSS Virginia, an ironclad warship, to destroy the blockade. When the Union Navy heard this, they sent out their ironclad warship, the USS Monitor. However, the CSS Virginia arrived before the USS Monitor and therefore, many Union wooden battleships defending the blockade were obliterated. The majority of these people believed the Native Americans were savages because their culture differed from the colonists. To the colonists, everything needed to be proper. The way they dressed, whether or not they went to church, or how they raised their children needed to be up to code. If not, their fellow colonists looked differently at them. The natives were entirely different. Their goal was simply to survive, and they were conducting survival the best way they knew how to. The differences between the two cultures led to many severe problems. Mary Rowlandson and Benjamin Franklin had two entirely different views of the Native Americans, based upon their encounters with them. Mary Rowlandson believed the Native Americans were savage, blood thirsty creatures that were either going to kill or be killed. In her story, she supports her claim by using vivid imagery of a major event that took place during her lifetime. A very interesting quote from Rowlandson s literature is It is a solemn sight to see so many Christians lying in their blood, some here, and some there, like a company of sheep torn by wolves, all of them stripped naked by a company of hell hounds, roaring, singing, ranting, and insulting, as if they would have torn our very hearts out (Rowlandson).
