Shakespeare s Theory Of Sir Francis Bacon Vs. William...
There are a variety of theories that suggest that Sir Francis Bacon was, in fact, William Shakespeare.
Supporters of these claims refer to Shakespeare s writing style, lack of education, and reportedly
hidden messages within his texts as some of the evidence that indicates that Bacon was the real author
of the many plays and poems attributed to Shakespeare. These assertions do not conclusively
substantiate the Bacon theory and only attempt to discredit the real William Shakespeare. Therefore,
Sir Francis Bacon did not write as William Shakespeare. The first theory of Sir Francis Bacon being
the true author of Shakespeare, came from the author Delia Bacon no relation. For Delia being a failed
novelist , it is hard for a person to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, just because it was stated that way, does not mean that Sir Francis Bacon wrote under the
name William Shakespeare. Anybody could write their name beside a famous authors name, such as
J.R. Rowling, that does not mean that this random person wrote all her novels. In this time, it was very
common for multiple publications to have the same phrases stated in them, this does not mean that for
every piece of work with the same statement in it, was written by the same author. If this were the
case, then why are there not more philosophies as too who wrote Shakespeare? Sir Francis Bacon and
Shakespeare did have a very different style of writing. Sir Francis Bacon s writings was more stilted
and abrupt compared to those works of Shakespeare . Bacon did his best work when he viewed life
from an ancient elevation or when he looked back through the silver haze of the years at the earlier
thoughts, for only then did he write of experiences common to mankind. . Plus, Bacon practically
never spoke unwholesomely about people, were as Shakespeare would make fun of people in his
works. The similarity and identity of statement in their works, however remarkable they may seem at
first glance, appear, after close examination, to be the result of the use of the literary stock in trade of
the age .

Roman Vs Greek Mythology
Greek mythology and Roman mythology both have an importance in both ancient history and the
modern world. People often confuse the two and mistake them for each other. They may be similar on
paper but they are very different. Greek mythology is more original, had a bigger influence on the
ancient people, and has a bigger influence on the modern world.
Greek mythology was an original belief that was not based on any other belief or religion whereas,
Roman mythology was developed based on Greek mythology. Greek mythology were the beliefs of
the Ancient Greeks who were the first western civilization which was created around 2000 B.C.E. and
the mythology was fully developed by about 700 B.C.E. and was widely accepted by the ancient
Greeks. On the

BMW: The Power of Design. Ellie Pugh. 369732. Heather Coleman. January 2009.
To most consumers BMW is simply, a vehicle manufacturer. Is this company another faceless
corporation whose only priority is to make its millions? Or have BMW spent the ninety years of their
existence building a solid reputation based on quality? This dissertation will aim to investigate these
questions by exploring the different and maybe in some cases, unknown elements of BMW. I will be

Similarities Between Alice Through The Looking Glass And...
The movie Alice through the Looking Glass and the book The City of Ember are very similar. They
are similar in conflict, and the main characters. But they are also different in theme. Alice through the
looking glass is about a girl who tryings to go back in time to save her friend, The Mad Hatter. Lina is
a girl who is stuck in a city underground and tries to get out using a passageway. These two may
sound different but they are actually the same. The theme of Alice through the Looking Glass would
be that you can t change the past but you can learn from it. Alice learned that when she tried to stop
the Red Queen in the past. This led the Red Queen from turning evil. The theme of The City of Ember
would be to never give up on your dreams, because Lina thought there was a way to get out of the city
when no one believed her. But, there was a way out. As you can see the themes between these two
stories are different. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Raisin In The Sun A Success
A Raisin in the Sun was first produced in 1959 and brings forth many of the issues which were to
divide American culture during the 1960s. Lorraine Hansberry, the writer, was an unknown figure who
achieved her success when her play became a Broadway hit. Not only were successful young black
women writers were rare at the time, but they were also virtually unheard of. Despite the unpopularity
of colored women writers, the success of A Raisin in the Sun was stunning. Hansberry s ability to
articulate words make her successful and well known across the world. Having the mind and
determination to become successful isn t an easy task. Success isn t considered a gift, it should be a
hard task to achieve and it matters how it is accomplished. Success

Events That Have Changed America Essay
Abraham Lincoln had it right when he said, My dream is of a place and time where America will once
again be seen as the last best hope of earth. From the time of Abraham Lincoln until now, America has
endured so much, but is still hopeful. Throughout history, there have been many events that have
changed America, such as, natural disasters, the Civil Rights movement, and multiple terrorist attacks;
having endured all of which gives people hope for a brighter future. Completely out of human control,
natural disasters take their toll on people by destroying properties and crops, as well as killing people.
There have been many tornadoes in the past, because of these events there are now better warning
systems and rebuilding programs. After hurricanes, many people open up their homes for people in
need. There are also many large scale refugee centers that help people that have lost everything due to
a hurricane. Adversity brings out a kindness and generosity that is not always present until a storm
wakes people up to the needs of others. A man made storm can also bring an awaking to American
society. The Civil Rights Movement took place from 1954 1968. The goal of the Civil Rights
Movement was to eliminate discrimination so equal rights were not contingent upon race. In 1954,
segregation in public schools ended after the Brown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Differences Of Dorothy Hobson And Ann Gray
The essay will be looking at two research considers done by Dorothy Hobson and Ann Gray, which
incorporates expressing the similarities and contrasts as far as procedure, discoveries, and study. The
two examinations that will be looking at are Dorothy Hobson entitled Housewives and the Mass
Media (1980) and Dr. Ann Gray s Video Playtime, The Gendering of the Leisure Technology (1992).
The essay will quickly clarify a brief on both Hobson s and Gray s investigations. The thesis statement
is whether both researchers are still relevant at today s age. For Dorothy Hobson s, Housewives and

The programmes which are actively rejected deal with what the women designate the real world or
man s world. ( ibid:98). In conjunction with the programmes which women reject, there are
programmes which they choose to watch and to which they obviously relate. These can be defined as
those which are related to their own lives, the programmes which can loosely be termed realistic .
(Hobson, 1980: 101). However, is that the programmes which the women watch are differentiated
specifically in terms of both class and gender. Overall the programmes fall into the categories of
popular drama and light entertainment, and although it is obvious that the women reject news and the
political content of current affairs programmes, it would be wrong to contend that they do not have
access or exposure to news or politics. She concluded her finding by saying that between radio and
television, radio which is transmitted every hour, is relatively accessible; it is also introduced by music
which is recognizable, bright and repetitive and demanding of attention and that the programmes
which the women watch and listen to, together with the programmes which they reject, reinforce the
sexual division of spheres of interest, which is determined both by their location in the home and by
the structures of femininity that ensure that feminine values are secondary or less real

Synonyms: Aivik (Inuktitut), Morzh (Russian), Rostungur (Icelandic), Valross (Swedish)
Family: Odobenidae Atlantic Walrus
Description
The Atlantic Walrus can be best described as a very large seal with 2 large tusks. No other marine
mammal has these two characteristics (Burt,1952). The most distinguishing trait of the Walrus are
their long tusks that are actually enlarged, upper canine teeth that continue to grow throughout the

Figure 2. Atlantic Walrus male (left) and female (right) (Arkive.org, 2017). Figure 3. A closer view of
the vibrissae of the Atlantic Walrus (Arkive.org, 2017).
Distribution
The Pacific Walrus, Odobenus rosmarus divergens, make up 90% of the world s population of
walruses while the Atlantic Walrus, Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus, and the Laptev Walrus, Odobenus
rosmarus laptevi, make up about 10% combined (Jay, 2008). The estimated population of Odobenus
rosmarus rosmarus is 10,000 19,000 (Jefferson, 2008). Walruses inhabit the relatively shallow waters
along the coast in the North Atlantic, the Bering Sea and the Artic Ocean near North America and
Eurasia (Figure 4) (Reeves, 2002). No walruses are not found in North Carolina.
Figure 4. The areas shaded in blue represent the global range of the Atlantic Walrus, Odobenus
rosmarus (WWF, 2017).
Habitat
Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus inhabits artic waters. They usually are seen on islands in the artic and on
floating sheets of ice called ice floes. They are also usually found and seen in groups called herds
(Burt, 1952). Atlantic walrus need large open bodies of water that are shallow, less than 80m, because
those areas are usually rich in clams and invertebrates for them to eat. Walrus also need ice or land
nearby so they can haul out of the water. In the summer and fall when the ice is scarce, they will haul
out in large groups near low rocky shores (DFO, 2017).

Cause And Effects Of The Cambodian Genocide
During times of trouble it is the structure of families which bring stability and fuel resilience. Families
often support each other to survive a trauma because they are support systems. The Cambodian
genocide led by the Khmer Rouge regime attempted to tear apart families and exploit their special
bond. The Khmer Rouge soldiers took towns captive or burned them, and recruited youths to join their
cause (Pran IX). From 1975 to 1979, all Cambodians were forced to live in labor camps and were
forced to work fourteen to eighteen hours a day with only a single bowl of rice to eat. Family
members were separated from one another purposefully to lower morale. During this period an
estimated one third of Cambodian s population died due to malnutrition, illness, and execution (Pran
X). Children of Cambodia s Killing Fields: Memoirs by Survivors compiled by Dith Pran is important
because it confirms the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime, explains how the Khmer Rouge gained
power, and how the Khmer Rouge attempted to indoctrinate young children against their parents.
In the 1950s Cambodia gained its independence from France and became peacefully ruled by Prince
Sihanouk. In the 1960s, Cambodia was dragged into the Vietnam War and in 1970, the prime minister
General Lon Nol assumed power and announced the implementation of the Khmer Republic and sent
the Khmer Republic s army to fight the North Vietnamese in Cambodia (Smith Hefner 264). Prince
Sihanouk formed a communist guerrilla

Liquor Never Brewed
In I taste a liquor never brewed Emily Dickinson expresses her passion and love for nature by talking
about her intoxication of alcohol. The extended metaphor and use of sound reflects the speaker s
attitude toward nature. With a decently constructed extended metaphor, Dickinson shows her love of
nature. The open line brings something interest to the reader: a liquor never brewed (l.1). How can a
liquor never have brewed be a liquor? This opening line hooks attention tightly by introducing a
seemingly contradiction. The special liquor initiates the metaphor of nature, which is strengthened and
clarified by inebriate of air (l.5) and Debauchee of Dew (l.6) in the second stanza. Dickinson connects
features of drunkenness and nature in those two lines: the narrator is not getting drunk with alcohol,
but with the admirable scenery in nature. The following line further explains the setting of the poem
endless summer day (l.7). Also, in the first stanza, the speaker comments that the liquor never ... Show

The second and fourth line in each stanza have end rhymes, such as door (l.10) and more (l.12), run
(l.14) and sun (l.16). The regular pattern of the end rhymes adds on order in the poem, and forms a
contrast with the first and third line in the stanza. The order of rhymes can represent the order of
nature; the disorder of other lines can represent the excitement after drinking alcohol and the speaker s
copious love for nature. Moreover, the alliteration in the poems adds singsong quality: Debauchee...
Dew (l.6), seraph... swing... snowy... saints (l.12 13). And through her word choice of informal words
such as Debauchee (1.6) and Tippler (l.15), we can feel a light and bright tone in the poem. This tone
connects to the real subject of the poem nature because summer days are delightful and

Argumentative Essay On Screen Time
Technology has been part of our daily live more frequently than before. Screen time has been more
popularly used on kids and adolescents. On a daily bases many kids seem to spend more time inside
on their tablets, instead of having to spend time with other kids. This is a problem that is becoming
more popular over the years,on whether kids need to spend that much time on technology or not.
Parents either seem to have strict technology usage, or they either don t. There has always been a huge
controversy with experts, who either think that screen time is beneficial or could cause problems later

In order to balance both there has to be comparative with the parents. Technology isn t good nor bad.
It can only benefit the child if the parents put a limit to their time in the screen. Parents need to set up
a schedule in where the kids will follow the time the kids will be using the tablet/ phone. As well have
time to play with other kids, and just interact with there own family member. In the article, Screen
time: A guide for parents states, keeping computers out of the bedroom, and keep them in a common
area in your house. This will make sure that the child isn t using their computers/ tablets during the
time they have to rest. Kids need to have a good rest, and not having technology in their rooms
because it could cause irregular sleep. Just having the parent take action in how much kids need to
spend time in the screens can be a good start. Luscombe argues, Take away the idea that all screens are
bad, but the face to face time for young people is an important part of the socialization process .
Parents seem to not understand that children need to develop good social skills, and that can only be
done by interacting with others, and get a sense on others points of views. Parents need to stop giving
the kids technology to keep them quiet for a while, because at the end it s hurting the child

there are cultural differences between the United States and Japan, the United States and our products
are generally accepted by the Japanese. The use of McDonalds in the transition into Japan also helped
Toys R Us. Toys R Us faced a few competitors when they entered Japan, but there was no strong

What were the problems in transferring the Toys R Us competitive advantages to a foreign market?
Why did Toys R Us internalize the firm specific advantages rather than license another retailer
abroad? a. Transferring the Toys R Us competitive advantage to a foreign market was a problem
because in the United States Toys R Us was the largest toy retail store, but in Japan they had their own
system for selling toys. They also faced the issue of how the Japanese value quality over value. The
low prices approach wasn t going to work because they were worried about the quality. Toys R Us had
to rethink their major competitive advantage that was such a success in the States. Toys R Us decided
to internalize rather then license another retailer because in the States Toys R Us was a huge success
and before open the Japanese location, Toys R Us was already operating in eight other countries. They
were not afraid to expand, not to mention they have their own system of success, licensing would
jeopardize that success plan. 5. Given Wal Mart s threat in the US market, what should Toys R Us

are the effects of cosmetic surgery in the society and the effect on a person s mental health. It also
discusses the reason why women seek cosmetic change.
Cosmetic surgery is a branch of surgery that focuses on changing a person s aesthetic appearance.

Even though, the outcome is mostly based on secondary sources, it is definitely appropriate to my

Corrupt Leaders In George Orwell s Animal Farm
Animal Farm, by George Orwell, is an allegory about the 1902 Russian Revolution that led to the
overthrowing of a corrupt leader, Czar Nicholas II. In the book Animal Farm, Mr. Jones isn t treating
his animals fairly. In 1902, Czar Nicholas II wasn t treating his people equally either. The novel and
the real event can be tied together in many ways, one including having corrupt leaders affecting
society. Corrupt leaders have an effect on society because they let the power get to their heads by not
being equal, thinking they are above everyone else, and by treating their people poorly. In 1917, the
Russian Revolution started, but in 1902 Russia started falling. Czar Nicholas was in charge at the time
and he started to treat his people badly. Czar Nicholas would indulge himself while his people were
starving. The people of Russia overthrew Nicholas and the provisional government. Stalin took over
as the dictator and wasn t any better than Nicholas. In Animal Farm, Mr. Jones was mistreating his

Improving Education through Continuous Development and Renewal
A fundamental question that pervades the minds of many is how to improve the educational system so
that the curriculum is relevant and continuously adaptive to societal needs. Throughout this century,
change has taken place in the educational arena; yet the ideal education never seemingly results.
Through each thread in time, curriculum is viewed as an entity with both institutional and technical
form an idea or concept embedded within the political and social structures that currently exist (Reid
Walker 1975). The role of schools to impart knowledge and to enrich each individual s sense of well
being brings about an integral question: what should the curriculum ... Show more content on

was not available at the time (Reid Walker 1975).
In 1954, a landmark decision in Brown v. the Topeka Board of Education directly influenced school
curriculum from a federal level. The court s decision provided that separate was not equal, thus
inevitably claiming that separate schools based upon racial, economic, or social distinctions could not
provide equal educational access to children. As a result, legal segregation of students became a
violation of individual constitutional rights (Eisner 1979). This judgment has generated a plethora of
other legal decisions serving to enforce the ideal of equal opportunity. For example, the busing of
children to create rapid desegregation by integrating the school system caused many students to be
shipped across town to schools not within their own neighborhoods. As a result, many parents
withdrew their children from the public educational system because they felt the government was
favoring minority status. Therefore, with this decision came the move to a more centralized school
system as the federal hand beginning to play a larger role than ever before.

The Descending Control Mechanism Activates Once Noxious...
The descending control mechanism activates once noxious stimuli reaches the higher level processing
area of the brain. Inhibition can occur through opiate release
Descending Pathways
The descending pathways involved in pain utilise efferent motor nerves (gamma motor neurons).
These pathways are involved in analgesic response or motor response to pain.
pain modulation with brain areas(Tracey Mantyh, 2007) pain modulation with brain areas(Gebhart,

Monoamines such as; serotonin, norepinephrine, or dopamine mediate modulation in the DH by

activating the rostral ventromedial medulla (RVM) (Fields, 2006) the second section of the PAG RVM

Automotive Repair
To be a productive and active citizen in the modern world nearly requires access to a reliable
automobile. We use our vehicles to get to and from work, to bring our children to school and other
events and to travel about our communities. The vehicle has permeated so many aspects of our lives
that sometimes it is easy to forget the extent to which we rely on it. Because of this reliably and
because of the necessity of a working order automobile to get things done, it is of supreme importance
to work to maintain your vehicle. None of us likes to be the person stranded, prior to an important
appointment, because of an automotive issue. For these and other reasons, it is important to consider
carefully an automotive service provider.
Many car repair service providers offer an extensive variety of professional services. The most typical
of these services is the oil change. When considering an automotive profession, it will serve you well
to consider the types of oil change services offered. Some companies offer a standard oil change or a
more extensive oil filter replacement procedure. An engine is a complex machine. There are numerous

Tires incur much damage through extensive use. Since many of us use our vehicles daily and
extensively, our tires suffer routine wear and tear. Many automotive service providers offer different
tire maintenance services. Aside from typical tire sales, they also offer tire rotation and alignment
services. Working with a vehicular professional can extend the life of your tires and make your
investment last longer. These professionals can help you become more aware of the signs of tire wear,
both visible and through the feel of your vehicle s ride. An awareness of these aspects can help you
prevent future blowouts and can maximize the life of your tires and vehicle

How Did Shakespeare Change Over Time
Emergent large, commercial theatres during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I ((1558 1603) were able to
reach an unprecedented level of artistic achievement due to unprecedented socio cultural changes.
These changes included a breakdown of the feudal system of the Middle Ages, the Protestant
Reformation and a movement towards Humanism. Despite these radical societal transformations,
continuities with the beliefs and structures of the recent past including the concept of a Chain of Being
and a belief in the four humours of the body are evident during Shakespeare s lifetime.
A demand for labour was created by the rapid rise of industrial towns and the Black Death, which
wiped out two thirds of England s labour force. The power of that this gave the working class
contributed to the decline of feudalism. Queen Elizabeth s efficient, centralised government was
another contributing factor, as was the transition from a land based economy to a money based
economy. Peasants newfound purchasing power and freedom of movement created a greater demand

The cosmos was understood to be composed of four energies present in fire, earth, water and air.
These energies manifested in the body in the form of black bile, phlegm, yellow bile and blood. One s
humours and the balance thereof determined one s personality. Blood was linked to a courageous and
playful temperament, yellow bile to anger and ambition, phlegm to patience and thoughtfulness while
black bile was linked to melancholic tendencies. The humoral theory held that one should strive for
balance between the four humours. Playwrights during the Elizabethan era explored characters with
imbalanced humours Shakespeare presented the melancholy Ophelia in Hamlet, and the sanguine

How Whistleblowing Is A Major Issue For Private Organizations
Kyler Wilson December 6, 2016 Professional Ethics Final Paper Whistleblowing can be a major issue
for private organizations who may bend or break the rules to get an upper hand in the business world.
This can be a key threat to both every day employees as well as middle and upper management level
positions. The two articles being looked at for this argument are both one that supports whistleblowing
in the workplace as well as another article that argues against whistleblowing. The article supporting
whistleblowing is titled Why are there so few whistleblowers? Blame evolution, and is written by Paul
Rauwolf and Dominic Mitchell, who have both earned their PhD s from the University of Bath. The
article was published in the Washington Post. The theory that most supports this article are the ideas of
Kant. The title of the article against whistleblowing is titled Why Are Some Whistleblowers Vilified
and Others Celebrated? The article is written by David M. Mayer, he is a writer for the Harvard
Business Review. This article was published by the Harvard Business Review. The theory supporting
this article is utilitarianism, this can be seen through the importance of doing what is best for everyone
involved, not just yourself. The third theory that can be argued is the idea of W.D. Ross and his prima
facia duties. The concept of whistleblowing can be a touchy subject in the professional world, but it
can be a vital towards promoting a healthy and stable work environment. The

A Long Way Home Short Story
Imagine, twenty five years without knowing if your family is still alive. Twenty five years you have
lived away from home. Spending a majority of your life not being able to kiss your mother, nor your

Khan, who finds himself lost in Calcutta, the capital of India (his country of origin). Sheru had
intended that he would just tag along with his brother, Guddu, as he ventured to Khandwa for his work
on the trolley but Sheru felt tired and collapsed onto a bench at the station. Guddu told his little
brother to wait and promised to be back shortly. Waking up with his brother out of sight, he boards a

Was I Doing the right thing? Did I really need to find out about the past when I had all of these people

dreaming about for decades. I got on the plane. (Brierley, 173).
Another boost of motivation for Saroo is through the love expressed by all of the people who have
aided Saroo along the way into finding a home. His adopted parents, his adopted brother Mantosh, his
girlfriend Lisa, and other students with Indian backgrounds aswell; all of which brought Saroo s long

Robert Gross s The Minutemen And Their World
The Minutemen and Their World, by Robert Gross focuses directly on life and struggles in Concord in
the seventeen hundreds. He provides a fresh outlook and new style that works to the readers
advantage. This style of writing separates Gross from many other writers. As other writers deal with
the colonies as a whole, Gross separates and investigates on a more specific level. He focuses on the
lives of the farmers and ordinary towns people. This inside out approach allows the reader to see how
decisions effected everyday life for ordinary people. Gross s analytical style called new social history
is compounded by primary documents and statistical analysis of many records kept through out
history. This is to the reader s advantage, because not only does this it give us an accurate account of
what happened in the 1700 s, but it also provides numerical statistic to back up the authors
presentation of the truth. Gross also writes in a story like fashion that makes this book easy to read. ...

He explains that Concord has trouble staying united. The people of this city often don t agree on
important topics such as politics and religion. These topics were raised and discussed in town
meetings that were held in the center on the town. This posed a problem because Concords population
was scattered over many miles, and the trip to town became very tedious. This resulted in the
separation of the towns people and the foundation of multiple smaller communities that held counsels
of their own. These assemblies were not usually connected to the main counsel and did not always
fallow by the same rules. They often made rules that catered to their needs. Gross believes that the
problem lies on the leadership of

Hiding One s Identity Is Nothing New
Hiding one s identity Is nothing new. Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay authored The
Federalist Papers in 1787 under pseudonym Publius. The ability to communicate anonymously is
viewed as part of our basic right to free speech . With the advent of computers and ease of access to
the internet, becoming anonymous as never been easier, and is far more reaching than the colonial
newspapers of 1787. For some this ease at which we can communicate anonymous is cause for
concern. Although we are no longer hiding our identities to promote the ratification of the
Constitution, being anonymous still plays a large role in our society. Online anonymity grants anyone
with an internet connection an unbiased voice, regardless of gender, race, or wealth. Without this
freedom to online anonymity many people would not feel free to express themselves or release
sensitive information about themselves or about corruption, in the case of whistleblowing. Anonymity
can also be used as a security measure and prevent unauthorized mining of personal information.
Although multiple ethical framework will be used and compared, using a consequence based
framework will be the main examining point throughout. The use of the term anonymous can be
confusing from an online perspective. When speaking of anonymity in such a sense it is not related to
the degree of traceability, but to the lack of aspects such as image, voice, and situation in the online
social environment . Those against online

Elgin Marbles
The Elgin Marbles emulate a struggle of nations to come to agreeance over cultural heritage that
idolizes the context of visual sculptures. In the possession of the Britons, the Marbles reach a larger
demographic with the aim of the British Museum in educating for the public benefit. Thus, if not
removed from the Parthenon in the early 1800 s, further destruction to the priceless works of art would
have occurred. Although the marbles hold an imperial stigma in the British possession, the creation of
the Parthenon also distributed a national imperial value after the Athenian conquest of the Persian

As mentioned previously, there was rivalry between France and Britain in the search of antiquities
bringing military conflict to a war of culture. The British government was hesitant at first in the
purchase of the Elgin Marbles, but later came to a democratic vote of eighty two to thirty votes in
acquiring the Marbles for the nation. The Marbles are not distinctively Greek in the value of cultural
heritage in the consideration that Greece was not a sovereign nation at the time of creation or
acquisition. Thus the Indo European material must remain housed in Britain to showcase not
exclusively the British imperial power, but also the historical powers that resonate in the Elgin
Marbles. When first presented in London June 1807, by Lord Elgin people believed the Marbles were,
superior in style to everything else on earth , and in acquisition of the Marbles the Periclean Athens
acted as a British role model in the period of the Napoleonic Wars. The Marbles of the Parthenon were
created by the Athenians after the defeat of the Persians in 479 BCE with the lead of Pericles who
aimed in the advancement of art and culture through the making of the Acropolis. The British

The rapid changes taking place in emerging markets, combined with the fact that existing fixed line
networks are often underdeveloped, offer persuasive reasons to believe that systems will be developed
that can facilitate wealth creation and genuinely transform people s lives in the poorest parts of the
region. Ultimately, the evolution of mobile payments systems has the potential to allow global
organisations to access a far wider market, including people in previously hard to access locations.
The caveat is, of course, that issues of trust, security and affordability also need to be overcome. This
report explores the recent developments in the context of these significant challenges. Mobile
payments are necessitating new forms of interaction between telecoms companies, financial
institutions, software and content providers. As in any supply chain, it is important to understand the
processes and security capabilities of other parties in the relationship. It is even more important when
potentially sensitive or personal information is flowing between these parties. Ultimately, the adoption
of mobile payments will therefore depend on, and be driven by, consumer confidence. In this respect,
all of the participants within each respective business model needs to share some responsibility for its
successful adoption. seung Hwan (sean) choi Regional Head Information, Communications

The subtlety of language acquisition has been the most...
The subtlety of language acquisition has been the most fundamental question in the study of
linguistics and human development. From Bow wow Theory to Yo He Ho Theory, the major theories
on language origins and learnability emerged at mid 20th century and has been heavily debated ever
since. Among them, the idea of universal grammar in which is usually credited to linguist Noam
Chomsky, remains the most notable and controversial theory over time. He introduced and developed
the t heory from 1950s to 1970s as he proposed and championed linguistic nativism in language
acquisition. Chomsky supports that language mastery involves knowledge of linguistic rules and
conventions, which he later named that as cognizance . He believes that ... Show more content on

There are totally 5 stages in children language development. Preverbal stage refers to the crying of 0 6
months old infants. This is followed by the one word holophrastic stage in 7 12 months children where
they imitate vowels to communicate, i.e. da da for daddy. By adding gestures (e.g. pointing) and
intonation into their words, they can convey directions, spacious relations of the objects near them,
making it the third stage in language development. After 18 months, children enter the telegraphic
stage where they can use 2 word phrases to indicate their needs, for instance, Papa! Milk! which they
later enter the final stage: the multi word stage. In this stage, they make remarkable breakthrough in
language comprehension and speech. No matter what the first language that children are exposed to,
the majority of them stick to such linguistic developmental mechanism. With the support of other
generative linguists and data of 5000 to 6000 languages all over the world, Chomsky has proved that
despite their very different grammars, all of the languages are rooted with similar syntactic principles
and rules. This shows the universality of language acquisition. It is clear that there is some unique
device in human brains that isolates language learning from cultural and intelligence, make human
innate to language acquisition; the environment only shapes the outline of such neurobiological
system to a specific language.

Minimal Risk
What We Know About Minimal Risk In the determination of risk, there are two major components for
IRBs to consider (BCEHI, 2013). The first component is the risk that may result from research, as
distinct from the risks that may be associated with the therapies that participants would endure if they
were not participating in research (U.S. Department of HHS). For example, in the calculation of risk
for a study that is measuring the effects of a brain operation on memory for the purpose of epilepsy
relief, only the risks associated with the memory test should be considered by the IRB (U.S.
Department of HHS). Thus, some research studies can present minimal risk even when higher risks
are associated with the therapeutic procedure (U.S. Department ... Show more content on

Vulnerability factors include, but are not limited to, the participant s mental, emotional, and cognitive
capacity, socio economic status, age, and the existence of power relationships (BCEHI, 2013). As the
federal regulation title 45 CFR part 46.111(b) stipulates: When some or all of the subjects are likely to
be vulnerable to coercion or undue influence, such as children, prisoners, pregnant women, mentally
disabled persons, or economically or educationally disadvantaged persons, additional safeguards have
been included in the study to protect the rights and welfare of these subjects. However, the National
Research Council (2014) asserts that because this definition does not differentiate between social and
research vulnerabilities, this definition encourages IRBs to estimate the research harms faced by any
population considered to be vulnerable. Therefore, the risk caused by the vulnerability of a group
should be examined in conjunction with the specific risks posed by the research (Fisher Goodman,
2009). This relationship between the continuum of risk level and participant vulnerability, which can
be used to determine if a study may require full IRB review, is provided in Figure 1. This means that
when a study s potential risk is being assessed, the harm that may be caused by the actual research
participation and the harm that may be caused by the situation or participant characteristics should be
uniquely contemplated (National Research Council, 2014). Thus, the current paper advocates for the
integration of considerations on the potential harm caused by the research procedures in conjunction
with participants

Early on in the play, Shakespeare establishes a tone of decay after Hamlet s death when Marcellus

Analysis of Third Person Narratives of Two Novels
Ask any author what the most important aspect of their work is (whether that be fiction or not) and
they will all probably say the same four things: plot, setting, characters, and narration. This is also true
for the three novels we have studied thus far in class: Vathek, The Castle of Otranto, and The
Mysteries of Udolpho. The dark gloomth setting, the larger than life characters, and the supernaturally
centered plot lines all make these books Gothic novels, but how would one characterize the narrators?
If there is anything that these three novels we have studied thus far have in common, it is that each of
them have a third person narrator. Andrew Vachss, an American crime fiction author, once said that

3 ) Although, The Horse and His Boy is far from a Gothic novel, as it is actually a children s novel, the
similar introduction of the main characters strikes me as something that must be common among
authors who use the Arabian setting for their works. This specific familial introduction of the
particular character by the narrator suggests the nobility of the character and emphasizes that this is a
character that we should know. While the opening descriptions of Vathek can be categorized as
somewhat subjective, especially to the stereotypes of Arabia, The Castle of Otranto s opening lines are
objective. Walpole introduces the characters of the story as simply as possible. The narrator gives no
bias to the characters, he just communicates facts such as that Matilda was a beautiful virgin and
Conrad was sickly:
Manfred, Prince of Otranto, had one son and one daughter; the latter, a most beautiful virgin, aged
eighteen, was called Matilda. Conrad, the son, was three years younger, a homely youth, sickly, and of
no promising disposition; yet he was the darling of his father, who never showed any symptoms of
affection to Matilda (Walpole, 27).

Pros And Cons Of Libertarianism
For this essay I shall explain libertarianism in a general sense, observing its aims and ideals for
society, what a government s role is in this society and what common views libertarians may share. I
will conclude with identifying a plausible form of this political philosophy based on the idealist merits
it puts forward to form a society based on personal freedom.
Libertarianism in a general sense is the view that every individual has the right to live their life in any
which way they may choose, so long as they hold respect for the equal rights of others. A Libertarian
government defends every individual s right to life, liberty, and property, observing that all people
hold this as a natural born right. Libertarians hold the view that, all individuals relationships should be
voluntary; and the main actions that should be restricted and punishable by law are those that involve
use of coercion against another or remove or impose on the rights of another in any such way. A
Libertarian is one who advocates maximizing individual rights and minimizing the role of the state
(What is Libertarian? 2013).
As a political philosophy Libertarianism aims towards the upholding of everyone s personal liberties
as its main principle. Classical Libertinism is built on the idea ... Show more content on

Such a theory was produced with thoughts towards the individual being motivated by their own
interests and being able to live their lives as the individuals that they are, to better themselves and be
able to make sensible decisions and take responsibility for the consequences of their actions while
living life according to their own values. Libertarianism promotes all this while inhibiting the only
negative possibility of autonomous action, the ability to affect others negatively (What is Libertarian?

Essay on Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton
There were many men involved in the establishment of the government, the laws regulating states and
people, and individual rights in the construction of the United States of America. Two men stand out
as instrumental to our founding principles: Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton.
Thomas Jefferson was an educated, articulate and accomplished man from a well respected family. He
had a great understanding of farming and of the relationship between man and his environment,
working diligently to balance the two for the best interest of each. He considered himself first and
always a man of the land (Jewett, 2005). His vision of the New World was of true, idealistic freedom
with limited government involvement; an educated farmer, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As an example, in his efforts to establish a central national bank and raise desperately needed capital
for the new republic, Hamilton encountered opposition from James Madison as he could find no basis
in the Constitution for a National Bank (Tindall Shi, 2010). Thomas Jefferson further argued that the
Tenth Amendment reserves to the states and the people powers not delegated by Congress (Tindall
Shi, 2010). Hamilton insisted that the power to charter corporations was included in the sovereignty of
any government, whether or not expressly stated (Tindall Shi, 2010). Hamilton s powers of persuasion
led to the signing of the bill by President George Washington. By doing so, in Jefferson s words, the
president had opened up a boundless field of power, which in coming years would lead to a further
broadening of implied powers with the approval of the Supreme Court (Tindall Shi, 2010).
In complete and total contrast to Hamilton, Jefferson, a Democratic Republican, took the Constitution
as the letter of the law. He feared tyranny (Tindall Shi, 2010) and believed the educated, common man
was the best candidate for governing himself. Thomas Jefferson feared that the unlimited expansion of
commerce and industry would produce a large class of propertyless wage laborers dependent upon
others for their

Peta Ethics
In 2003, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) released a campaign called Holocaust on
Your Plate . This display compared pictures of animals in a slaughterhouse against pictures of Nazi
concentration camp. This campaign stemmed from Nobel Prize winning author Isaac Bashevis Singer,
who wrote: In relation to them [animals], all people are Nazis; for them it is an eternal Treblinka a
death camp in Poland (CNN, 2003). It s meant to emotionally target the viewer, similar to a scare
tactic. It was also deeply insulting to many holocaust survivors. I believe this was a poor decision on
PETA s part, and the bad definitely outweighed the good for everyone.
The best thing PETA could have done was apologize and scrap the images, ... Show more content on

A mix of legal questioning, high emotional ties, and extremely poor taste make this an ethical case of
high stakes and varied opinions, but one thing is clear: PETA s Holocaust on a Plate is ethically
wrong. The mass murder of millions in a catastrophic historical event should not be appropriated as a
tool to gain support for an organization s agenda. The comparison is disgustingly insensitive and takes
advantage of others suffering to make a statement. PETA should utilize a different strategy to convey
their message. The CEO of PETA will receive better press, and the overall reputation of the already
controversial organization will improve. The backlash did nothing but harm everyone involved:
Holocaust victims and those offended, the reputation of PETA and the CEO. All were jeopardized
while driving away any potential support for their

Yucatan Forest Essay
When examining the studies on forests in the Yucatan Peninsula, it is crucial to understand the
importance and severity of hurricane disturbances. Forests in the Yucatan are affected differently by
many different types of forest disturbances, especially anthropogenic and natural disturbances like
hurricanes which occur frequently (Boose et. al. 2003). The Yucatan forests also have calm
topographical conditions, which provides clearer relationships between forest structure and
composition, and hurricane intensity and severity. Understanding the relative importance of hurricanes
also contextualizes the other disturbances that affect forest composition and structure. Anthropogenic
land use conversion historically disturbs the Yucatan forests; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Forest composition is commonly measured by species composition (number of species) in a given
region (Cook 2001). With forest structure, you have a wider range of variables to test the spatial
arrangement and physical characteristics of the trees in a given forest. The spatial arrangement or
density in a forest includes measurements such as basal area, which is the ratio of the area of tree
stems compared to the total area of a stand, and number of stems per hectare. Physical characteristics
of trees include diameter at breast height and canopy height (Cook 2001; McGroddy et al. 2013). This
paper analyzes information regarding how these conditions change with the varying wind speeds and
paths of different hurricanes that have passed over the Yucatan. Wind speeds are the hurricane
component that affects forest composition and structure the most significantly (McGroddy et. al.
2013). While forest composition in the Yucatan is largely unaffected by hurricanes, forest structural
components such as basal area and canopy height are significantly changed. Forests in the Yucatan
region are conditioned and resilient to hurricanes, which affect them less significantly than forest fires
and anthropogenic land use

Fashioning a Fraud Case Study Essay
In this article, Bobbie Jean Donnelly was a fraudster who used Travel and Expense reimbursements to
defraud her company. Donnelly figured out how to manipulate her travel and expense reimbursements
to eventually defraud her company of about $275,000. Had her company had proper controls in place
for travel and expense reimbursements, wouldn t have occurred to this magnitude.
Donnelly was targeted in an internal investigation because she was one of three employees with the
highest amounts of travel and expense reimbursements hers totaling, $115,000. One of the red flags in
the case was the fact that Donnelly s supervisor had only submitted $40,000 in travel and expense
reimbursements that year. It turned out that Donnelly had been using ... Show more content on

When this scheme was used, Donnelly would also follow Exhibit 7 6 from Wells, and prepare an
expense report claiming numerous taxi expenses. For supporting documentation she would alter or
photocopy the original receipt and then change amounts of tip or total. These could have either been
forged or given to the supervisor who at first glance may not realize that these are fictitious
documents. This type of fraud is difficult to prevent but can easily be detected. Fictitious
reimbursements can be detected by; expenses that are consistently rounded off, patterns in which
expenses are consistently for the same amount, reimbursement requests that are consecutively
numbered, or receipts that do not look professional or lack information. (Wells, 187 188)
Preventing and detecting reimbursement expenses can be very challenging and time consuming for
companies. However, in order to prevent these schemes, a company needs to have explicit policies
that clearly convey to each and every employee what will and will not be reimbursed. Donnelly was
able to defraud her company out of a quarter of a million dollars in a short two year period. In order to
prevent these schemes and not use up so much time, Kessler points out that there are tools that could
be used to examine and parse such data [which] include IDEA Data Analysis Software, Audit

Advanced Placement Computer Science
In first grade, I learned the rudimentary mathematical concept that 1+1=2, and I considered math the
most simplistic subject in existence. However, eleven years later when I stepped foot into the
Advanced Placement Computer Science classroom, math became my greatest enemy. Advanced
Placement Computer Science is hard for me because of its rigorous work load and my natural
weaknesses in math. It also forces me to apply all the concepts such as: functions, and variables
learned from Intro to programming; of which I have had difficulty with as well. Computer Science
also adds its own predefined words such as functions and variables that you must memorize and learn
to apply quickly. Despite this problem, I had to pass the course so I had to cope with these problems
and overcome them with patience, persistence, and hard work. Therefore, I have begun going to
numerous tutoring sessions Further, I purchased Computer Science prep books, formed study groups

which consists of countless battles some of which I have won and some I have lost, but like any war it

Brand Perception Of Customers And Their Buying Behaviour...
Chapter One: Introduction
1.1) Background of the Research:
The main purpose of this research dissertation is to analyse brand perception on customers and their
buying behaviour within automobile industry. Brand perception is notably related with the experiences
of customers related with the product, service or company which produce and deliver the product or
service (Kervyn, Fiske Malone, 2012). In other words, brand perception can be shaped through the
practical experiences such as: speed, quality, reliability and availability, along with the emotional
experiences such as: good feeling, improvement of performance at home or at job or making life more
easy and happy. Customers associate these practical and emotional experiences with the ... Show more

Bioterrorism is terrorism involving the intentional release or dissemination of biological agents. These
agents are bacteria, viruses, or toxins, and may be in a naturally occurring or a human modified form.
A bioterrorism attack is the deliberate release of viruses, bacteria, toxins or other harmful agents used
to cause illness or death in people, animals, or plants. These agents are typically found in nature, but it
is possible that they could be mutated or altered to increase their ability to cause disease, make them
resistant to current medicines, or to increase their ability to be spread into the environment. Biological

response plans to achieve balance between threats to food safety and other threats. A new threat for the
food chain is the introduction of a chemical, biological, or radio nuclear agent into food during
production, processing, distribution or preparation of food. The responsibility to avoid this lies in the
hands of the food industry. Many foods, such as fish, meat, poultry, fruit and vegetables, are consumed
with minimal processing. Other, such as cereal products and cooking oils, undergo considerable 4

  • 2. Shakespeare s Theory Of Sir Francis Bacon Vs. William... There are a variety of theories that suggest that Sir Francis Bacon was, in fact, William Shakespeare. Supporters of these claims refer to Shakespeare s writing style, lack of education, and reportedly hidden messages within his texts as some of the evidence that indicates that Bacon was the real author of the many plays and poems attributed to Shakespeare. These assertions do not conclusively substantiate the Bacon theory and only attempt to discredit the real William Shakespeare. Therefore, Sir Francis Bacon did not write as William Shakespeare. The first theory of Sir Francis Bacon being the true author of Shakespeare, came from the author Delia Bacon no relation. For Delia being a failed novelist , it is hard for a person to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, just because it was stated that way, does not mean that Sir Francis Bacon wrote under the name William Shakespeare. Anybody could write their name beside a famous authors name, such as J.R. Rowling, that does not mean that this random person wrote all her novels. In this time, it was very common for multiple publications to have the same phrases stated in them, this does not mean that for every piece of work with the same statement in it, was written by the same author. If this were the case, then why are there not more philosophies as too who wrote Shakespeare? Sir Francis Bacon and Shakespeare did have a very different style of writing. Sir Francis Bacon s writings was more stilted and abrupt compared to those works of Shakespeare . Bacon did his best work when he viewed life from an ancient elevation or when he looked back through the silver haze of the years at the earlier thoughts, for only then did he write of experiences common to mankind. . Plus, Bacon practically never spoke unwholesomely about people, were as Shakespeare would make fun of people in his works. The similarity and identity of statement in their works, however remarkable they may seem at first glance, appear, after close examination, to be the result of the use of the literary stock in trade of the age . They are similar in conflict, and the main characters. But they are also different in theme. Alice through the looking glass is about a girl who tryings to go back in time to save her friend, The Mad Hatter. Lina is a girl who is stuck in a city underground and tries to get out using a passageway. These two may sound different but they are actually the same. This led the Red Queen from turning evil. • 10. Events That Have Changed America Essay Abraham Lincoln had it right when he said, My dream is of a place and time where America will once again be seen as the last best hope of earth. From the time of Abraham Lincoln until now, America has endured so much, but is still hopeful. Throughout history, there have been many events that have changed America, such as, natural disasters, the Civil Rights movement, and multiple terrorist attacks; having endured all of which gives people hope for a brighter future. Completely out of human control, natural disasters take their toll on people by destroying properties and crops, as well as killing people. There have been many tornadoes in the past, because of these events there are now better warning systems and rebuilding programs. After hurricanes, many people open up their homes for people in need. There are also many large scale refugee centers that help people that have lost everything due to a hurricane. Adversity brings out a kindness and generosity that is not always present until a storm wakes people up to the needs of others. A man made storm can also bring an awaking to American society. In conjunction with the programmes which women reject, there are programmes which they choose to watch and to which they obviously relate. These can be defined as those which are related to their own lives, the programmes which can loosely be termed realistic . (Hobson, 1980: 101). However, is that the programmes which the women watch are differentiated specifically in terms of both class and gender. Overall the programmes fall into the categories of popular drama and light entertainment, and although it is obvious that the women reject news and the political content of current affairs programmes, it would be wrong to contend that they do not have access or exposure to news or politics. She concluded her finding by saying that between radio and television, radio which is transmitted every hour, is relatively accessible; it is also introduced by music which is recognizable, bright and repetitive and demanding of attention and that the programmes which the women watch and listen to, together with the programmes which they reject, reinforce the sexual division of spheres of interest, which is determined both by their location in the home and by the structures of femininity that ensure that feminine values are secondary or less real ... • 14. Cause And Effects Of The Cambodian Genocide During times of trouble it is the structure of families which bring stability and fuel resilience. Families often support each other to survive a trauma because they are support systems. The Cambodian genocide led by the Khmer Rouge regime attempted to tear apart families and exploit their special bond. The Khmer Rouge soldiers took towns captive or burned them, and recruited youths to join their cause (Pran IX). From 1975 to 1979, all Cambodians were forced to live in labor camps and were forced to work fourteen to eighteen hours a day with only a single bowl of rice to eat. Family members were separated from one another purposefully to lower morale. During this period an estimated one third of Cambodian s population died due to malnutrition, illness, and execution (Pran X). Children of Cambodia s Killing Fields: Memoirs by Survivors compiled by Dith Pran is important because it confirms the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime, explains how the Khmer Rouge gained power, and how the Khmer Rouge attempted to indoctrinate young children against their parents. In the 1950s Cambodia gained its independence from France and became peacefully ruled by Prince Sihanouk. In the 1960s, Cambodia was dragged into the Vietnam War and in 1970, the prime minister General Lon Nol assumed power and announced the implementation of the Khmer Republic and sent the Khmer Republic s army to fight the North Vietnamese in Cambodia (Smith Hefner 264). • 17. Liquor Never Brewed In I taste a liquor never brewed Emily Dickinson expresses her passion and love for nature by talking about her intoxication of alcohol. The extended metaphor and use of sound reflects the speaker s attitude toward nature. With a decently constructed extended metaphor, Dickinson shows her love of nature. The open line brings something interest to the reader: a liquor never brewed (l.1). How can a liquor never have brewed be a liquor? This opening line hooks attention tightly by introducing a seemingly contradiction. The special liquor initiates the metaphor of nature, which is strengthened and clarified by inebriate of air (l.5) and Debauchee of Dew (l.6) in the second stanza. Dickinson connects features of drunkenness and nature in those two lines: the narrator is not getting drunk with alcohol, but with the admirable scenery in nature. The following line further explains the setting of the poem endless summer day (l.7). Also, in the first stanza, the speaker comments that the liquor never ... The order of rhymes can represent the order of nature; the disorder of other lines can represent the excitement after drinking alcohol and the speaker s copious love for nature. Moreover, the alliteration in the poems adds singsong quality: Debauchee... Dew (l.6), seraph... swing... snowy... saints (l.12 13). Japan was a very attractive market for Toys R Us. While there are cultural differences between the United States and Japan, the United States and our products are generally accepted by the Japanese. The use of McDonalds in the transition into Japan also helped Toys R Us. Toys R Us faced a few competitors when they entered Japan, but there was no strong competitor. What were the problems in transferring the Toys R Us competitive advantages to a foreign market? Why did Toys R Us internalize the firm specific advantages rather than license another retailer abroad? a. Transferring the Toys R Us competitive advantage to a foreign market was a problem because in the United States Toys R Us was the largest toy retail store, but in Japan they had their own system for selling toys. They also faced the issue of how the Japanese value quality over value. The low prices approach wasn t going to work because they were worried about the quality. Toys R Us had to rethink their major competitive advantage that was such a success in the States. Toys R Us decided to internalize rather then license another retailer because in the States Toys R Us was a huge success and before open the Japanese location, Toys R Us was already operating in eight other countries. Improving Education through Continuous Development and Renewal A fundamental question that pervades the minds of many is how to improve the educational system so that the curriculum is relevant and continuously adaptive to societal needs. Throughout this century, change has taken place in the educational arena; yet the ideal education never seemingly results. Through each thread in time, curriculum is viewed as an entity with both institutional and technical form an idea or concept embedded within the political and social structures that currently exist (Reid Walker 1975). In the middle to late 1940 s, numerous national organizations began to press for intercultural education; thus, an intercultural unit became an added component to the Social Studies program. Despite the concern for such an issue, the lack of support from the national level for such a school role was not available at the time (Reid Walker 1975). In 1954, a landmark decision in Brown v. the Topeka Board of Education directly influenced school curriculum from a federal level. The court s decision provided that separate was not equal, thus inevitably claiming that separate schools based upon racial, economic, or social distinctions could not provide equal educational access to children. As a result, legal segregation of students became a violation of individual constitutional rights (Eisner 1979). This judgment has generated a plethora of other legal decisions serving to enforce the ideal of equal opportunity. For example, the busing of children to create rapid desegregation by integrating the school system caused many students to be shipped across town to schools not within their own neighborhoods. As a result, many parents withdrew their children from the public educational system because they felt the government was favoring minority status. Therefore, with this decision came the move to a more centralized school system as the federal hand beginning to play a larger role than ever before. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first component is the risk that may result from research, as distinct from the risks that may be associated with the therapies that participants would endure if they were not participating in research (U.S. Department of HHS). For example, in the calculation of risk for a study that is measuring the effects of a brain operation on memory for the purpose of epilepsy relief, only the risks associated with the memory test should be considered by the IRB (U.S. Department of HHS). This relationship between the continuum of risk level and participant vulnerability, which can be used to determine if a study may require full IRB review, is provided in Figure 1. This means that when a study s potential risk is being assessed, the harm that may be caused by the actual research participation and the harm that may be caused by the situation or participant characteristics should be uniquely contemplated (National Research Council, 2014). To begin with, Gertrude and Claudius s incestuous relationship starts up the chain of strange events. Hamlet recalls in a soliloquy She married. • 41. Analysis of Third Person Narratives of Two Novels Ask any author what the most important aspect of their work is (whether that be fiction or not) and they will all probably say the same four things: plot, setting, characters, and narration. This is also true for the three novels we have studied thus far in class: Vathek, The Castle of Otranto, and The Mysteries of Udolpho. The dark gloomth setting, the larger than life characters, and the supernaturally centered plot lines all make these books Gothic novels, but how would one characterize the narrators? If there is anything that these three novels we have studied thus far have in common, it is that each of them have a third person narrator. Andrew Vachss, an American crime fiction author, once said that The third person narrator, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3 ) Although, The Horse and His Boy is far from a Gothic novel, as it is actually a children s novel, the similar introduction of the main characters strikes me as something that must be common among authors who use the Arabian setting for their works. This specific familial introduction of the particular character by the narrator suggests the nobility of the character and emphasizes that this is a character that we should know. While the opening descriptions of Vathek can be categorized as somewhat subjective, especially to the stereotypes of Arabia, The Castle of Otranto s opening lines are objective. Walpole introduces the characters of the story as simply as possible. The narrator gives no bias to the characters, he just communicates facts such as that Matilda was a beautiful virgin and Conrad was sickly: Manfred, Prince of Otranto, had one son and one daughter; the latter, a most beautiful virgin, aged eighteen, was called Matilda. Conrad, the son, was three years younger, a homely youth, sickly, and of no promising disposition; yet he was the darling of his father, who never showed any symptoms of affection to Matilda (Walpole, 27). Unlike Vathek which conveys a message of dangerous magic right from the start, the narrator of The Castle of Otranto gives the reader a much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Pros And Cons Of Libertarianism For this essay I shall explain libertarianism in a general sense, observing its aims and ideals for society, what a government s role is in this society and what common views libertarians may share. I will conclude with identifying a plausible form of this political philosophy based on the idealist merits it puts forward to form a society based on personal freedom. Libertarianism in a general sense is the view that every individual has the right to live their life in any which way they may choose, so long as they hold respect for the equal rights of others. A Libertarian government defends every individual s right to life, liberty, and property, observing that all people hold this as a natural born right. Libertarians hold the view that, all individuals relationships should be voluntary; and the main actions that should be restricted and punishable by law are those that involve use of coercion against another or remove or impose on the rights of another in any such way. A Libertarian is one who advocates maximizing individual rights and minimizing the role of the state (What is Libertarian? 2013). As a political philosophy Libertarianism aims towards the upholding of everyone s personal liberties as its main principle. Classical Libertinism is built on the idea ... Essay on Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton There were many men involved in the establishment of the government, the laws regulating states and people, and individual rights in the construction of the United States of America. Two men stand out as instrumental to our founding principles: Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. Thomas Jefferson was an educated, articulate and accomplished man from a well respected family. He had a great understanding of farming and of the relationship between man and his environment, working diligently to balance the two for the best interest of each. He considered himself first and always a man of the land (Jewett, 2005). His vision of the New World was of true, idealistic freedom with limited government involvement; an educated farmer, a ... As an example, in his efforts to establish a central national bank and raise desperately needed capital for the new republic, Hamilton encountered opposition from James Madison as he could find no basis in the Constitution for a National Bank (Tindall Shi, 2010). Thomas Jefferson further argued that the Tenth Amendment reserves to the states and the people powers not delegated by Congress (Tindall Shi, 2010). Hamilton insisted that the power to charter corporations was included in the sovereignty of any government, whether or not expressly stated (Tindall Shi, 2010). Hamilton s powers of persuasion led to the signing of the bill by President George Washington. By doing so, in Jefferson s words, the president had opened up a boundless field of power, which in coming years would lead to a further broadening of implied powers with the approval of the Supreme Court (Tindall Shi, 2010). In complete and total contrast to Hamilton, Jefferson, a Democratic Republican, took the Constitution as the letter of the law. He feared tyranny (Tindall Shi, 2010) and believed the educated, common man was the best candidate for governing himself. It s meant to emotionally target the viewer, similar to a scare tactic. It was also deeply insulting to many holocaust survivors. The comparison is disgustingly insensitive and takes advantage of others suffering to make a statement. PETA should utilize a different strategy to convey their message. Forests in the Yucatan are affected differently by many different types of forest disturbances, especially anthropogenic and natural disturbances like hurricanes which occur frequently (Boose et. al. 2003). The Yucatan forests also have calm topographical conditions, which provides clearer relationships between forest structure and composition, and hurricane intensity and severity. Understanding the relative importance of hurricanes also contextualizes the other disturbances that affect forest composition and structure. Forest composition is commonly measured by species composition (number of species) in a given region (Cook 2001). With forest structure, you have a wider range of variables to test the spatial arrangement and physical characteristics of the trees in a given forest. The spatial arrangement or density in a forest includes measurements such as basal area, which is the ratio of the area of tree stems compared to the total area of a stand, and number of stems per hectare. Physical characteristics of trees include diameter at breast height and canopy height (Cook 2001; McGroddy et al. 2013). This paper analyzes information regarding how these conditions change with the varying wind speeds and paths of different hurricanes that have passed over the Yucatan. Wind speeds are the hurricane component that affects forest composition and structure the most significantly (McGroddy et. al. 2013). While forest composition in the Yucatan is largely unaffected by hurricanes, forest structural components such as basal area and canopy height are significantly changed. Forests in the Yucatan region are conditioned and resilient to hurricanes, which affect them less significantly than forest fires and anthropogenic land use ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This type of fraud is difficult to prevent but can easily be detected. Fictitious reimbursements can be detected by; expenses that are consistently rounded off, patterns in which expenses are consistently for the same amount, reimbursement requests that are consecutively numbered, or receipts that do not look professional or lack information. (Wells, 187 188) Preventing and detecting reimbursement expenses can be very challenging and time consuming for companies.
